It's my first time in Boston and all I see walking around Boston are people holding a boxed labeled Mike's Pastry. So me being me, I enjoy looking for the top local places to check out because the locals know where the good stuff is at. When I checked that this place was all about cannolis, I made it a mission to check it out. It's located in Boston's Little Italy, which is adorable and not too different than NYC'a Little Italy. So you'll know you are at the right place because 1. the sign above and 2. The huge lines coming out from the store. When you walk in there is going to be scattered lines, which move pretty fast. You can see their menu of different types of cannolis. The price of the cannolis range from $4-5 depending on what kinda cannoli flavor. The cannolis that I got were: custard, cookies n cream, coffee, lemoncello and chocolate. All were so good and packed so nicely. When I get back to Boston, I have to make sure I stop by! read more

I was walking around Boston and kept seeing Mike's pastry boxes. I thought that was odd so I looked them up on yelp. Many good reviews so I decided to stop by. There was a lot of people but the line went fast. I am not a big sweet fan so was not expecting too much. I did buy a strawberry cannoli because it looked interesting. To me, it wasn't all that great but I am sure to someone who likes sweets it would be great. It was a fun experience and seems like the thing to do in Boston. I would have liked to find something else beside Cannoli but that was about all they had. read more

Again, i'm not a big dessert person but I really enjoyed the cannolis here. We got a chocolate and a pecan one. Both were really good. The outside pastry was especially crispy and delicious. Apparently they have a Nutella one which I didn't see on the menu but would have loved to try. The lines are a little hectic but it does move surprisingly fast. read more

You never forget your firsts. Your first kiss. Your first car. Your first cannoli. I had my first Mike's Pastry cannoli almost a year ago when my friend from Boston visited Texas and brought some as a gift. Though I was intrigued by their strange tube shapes, I fell in love with the flavors - the sweet, creamy, melt-in-your-mouth fillings and the flaky pastry shells. Needless to say, I was excited to visit Boston and came just for the cannoli. I kid. First off, the shop was a lot bigger than I imagined. It was brightly lit with huge signs plastered on the walls and stacks of cannoli shining in the displays. There was organized chaos as multiple people placed orders at once with different cashiers - you simply have to walk up to the counter and see who's free. Don't forget to bring cash! I got the Pistachio and Amaretto. I thought the Amaretto was a 5/5. The filling inside of the Pistachio tasted a little plain so I would rate it as a 3.5/5. They were large enough to be shared though and definitely worth the price. Because there weren't any open tables or chairs, we took our goodies to Faneuil Hall Marketplace to eat outside. What else can I say other than holy cannoli? When 50 customers are in a brightly lit pastry shop at 10:00 on a Wednesday night ordering pastries, you have to think the place is doing something right. Walking in to the well lit shop off a dark street and being confronted with hoards of pictures of cannoli and cake varieties and cases of baked goods was a bit of a shock. I felt like a deer caught in the headlights. On the recommendation of the lady who brought me to Mike's I had the chocolate dipped cannoli. In retrospect I wish I had tried the pistachio one, because I'm a bit of a pistachio kind of gal, but the dipped one was great, covered with tiny dark chocolate chips. Mike's Pastry is considered a North End staple but I don't quite understand the hype. Came here for dessert twice, once after lunch and another time, after dinner while in the neighborhood. This place is always a zoo with lots of patrons waiting to order at the counter. The cannolis are OK. I like the flavors and textures, but the cream to shell ratio is off (too much cream if you ask me!). The service is always a little harsh. And the place is always too chaotic -- don't even think about sticking around to enjoy your treats! One cannoli is enough cream for two. I've had better in Italy for sure. I'd call this place the Costco of Cannolis -- a mass producer of Italian treats. If you must go, take your cannoli to-go and enjoy at Columbus park nearby. read more

Team Mike's! Best pastries in the north end for sure. I have had the cannolis, black and white cookies, and cream puffs. While I didn't love the cream puff, the cookies and cannolis are great!!!! I recommend the chocolate chip if you want something classic, or the amaretto if you want to change it up. I used to love the Lobster tails. I mean I loved them. Last year I stopped in and bought a lobster tail. The filling was delicious,However the outer shell was so hard I could break a tooth. I chalked it up to maybe a bad day or something. Recently stopped in on Friday Sept 2,2022. Ordered the same. Sure enough same hard outer shell. I'm guessing due to the hype they have got so commercialized that they are pre cooking these shells. In doing so they are leaving the shells like rocks. These need to be soft with a light crunch. The filling is decent but even that has lost something. Seems more sugary and less creamy like years ago. Tourists with no Italian background in theses desserts may like them. I think Mike's deserves a little more than my original review. Their cannolis are truly the greatest of all time. There are so many kinds to choose from. The filling isn't too sweet and you can easily eat the whole thing even though they are huge. I've never considered myself a cannoli person unless they are Mike's cannolis. It was just okay. Its mostly for tourists so I did the touristy thing and came here. The cannolis are HUGE... and there are SO many flavors to pick from. I got the hazelnut cannoli. it was just okay. So I was visiting Boston and I looked up the best place to get a Boston cream pie. I definitely enjoyed the Boston cream pie. It was delicious!!! If you wanted a cannoli this was definitely a place to go. There were all kinds of flavors of cannoli's to choose from. It was difficult to decide which one I wanted. Unfortunately, since this place is so popular there was a long line and it was fast pace. You basically wait in line, tell the people behind the counter what you want and they put it in a box for you and tie it and you are on your way. It's not a restaurant style where you sit and choose what you want, or order like take out. There were no menu's or anything for me to see what they had. Couldn't really tell the price of what was what. So when I was ordering I didn't want to hold up the line and I just said a bunch of things. This place is CASH ONLY! CASH ONLY! CASH ONLY! Holy cannoli! Great dessert spot. Pretty good size cannoli for $3-4. I prefer the regular ricotta or chocolate chip though you can go more exotic. I feel like nothing beats the classics. Known as a must visit while in Boston, Mike's Pastry is famous for its Italian cannolis. There is almost always long lines which thankfully move quick. There's a huge variety of cannolis, cupcakes, cakes, and other desserts. I took back a Boston cream pie on a flight to Houston and it tasted great one day later! I have found that their cupcakes are pretty darn good... maybe even better than their cannolis! Keep in mind that they only accept cash!!!
