I'm not one to complain about diner food because you know what you're getting. This last experience pissed me off so much I now feel the need to complain. Ordered 2 turkey club sandwiches I took one bite the bacon was so hard when I took a bite I thought it was a bone. I removed the bacon and tried to eat it plain until my daughter discovered a small bug with wings on the lettuce of her turkey club sandwich. Everything went in the garbage. We tried to at least eat the fries but we were so grossed out we tossed those too. The pickles were stale. I assume this is how they handle their pick up orders. Ordering from this diner has never failed me . They make great milkshakes , sandwiches, and apps. Food is always good , presentation is never sloppy , delivery people are friendly , and the order is always correct . They get really busy sometimes and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because sometimes it can take a little longer than the ETA, which is totally understandable. This place is disgusting. Sat down ordered a cup of coffee. As the waitress walked it over to me she said, how the cup was dirty and that she would get me another cup. I took for granted that the second cup must be clean so after a sip i noticed lipstick on the side of the cup. I got completely grossed out to the point I just ordered a juice. The breakfast served was almost as bad as my coffee experience. Burnt toast drenched in butter, overcooked cheese omelette, and chewy bacon that didn't taste like bacon. On top of this the staff there was cursing and talking about either the manager or owner the entire time we sat there. I have had some bad food experiences, but this is by far the worst. Good ole' Mike's place, I can honestly say I've been here /ordered from here probably hundreds of times throughout my 22 years of living. It's changed a lot over the years, but it will always have a special place in my heart! Wish it didn't get so expensive, the other day I wanted to just get a Greek wrap for lunch before work and it cost me $17 and change. I was actually appalled when I was told the price. Been going to this location for years, food always decent and service very good until about a week ago. Walked in for lunch and heard yelling in the kitchen, we sat down and the waitress came out of the kitchen cursing and then came over to our table and we asked for a menu and she stormed off and came back to the table and slammed the menus down on the table and walked away. I told the host to get me another waitress and everything was fine.she argued with management cursing and yelling then ran out of the restaurant.we were glad and thought she was gone for good and then I go back in the other day and she's back working. No apology, nothing. I was told by one of the other waitresses that no one likes her. I don't think I'll b going there anymore. Her name is Debbie ,tall skinny probably in her 40s hair always in a ponytail and wears glasses. Always load, complaining about something and everything. I'll go to Andrew's or the page diner instead. never an attitude issue in those places read more

This place is the quintessential midnight (or beyond) meal diner! Heck, it's practically our Monk's! Or even our Cheers. Go there long enough and the staff starts to know who you are. This place is out of control. To start of one of the more horrendous services that I have ever encountered. I can understand Staten Island has a drug problem, but I see no reason to higher waitresses (over night staff) who are CLEARLY drugged out of their minds and who can barley keep their eyes opened. A few waitresses their clearly need help and them playing dumb or stupid is not cute by any means (again, this is directed at the over night staff). On multiple occasions my group had to send back the orders MULTIPUL times and the waitress blamed it on the cooks. Correction, you take the order, it's your responsibility to make sure you deliver it to the cooks properly. On top of that, when we pointed it out, there was no apology, just a simple "yea, I forgot". Here's another kicker, the half zombie staff LOVES to charge you for things they forgot to bring out or that you have never even ordered. I also wish this was an isolated incident but this week's of attempting to let this place redeem itself since it's convenient and opened all night. Also the food is 8/10 times horrible, taste like it was reheated a million times and left out to sit. I came here with several of my friends and it took an extremely long time to have menus brought to us (around a half and hour or so) and left waiting to order for another extended period of time. My friends and I were given subpar food with this bad service, and to top it all off we were charged an automatic 30% gratuity. The food gave several of us food poisoning and the waiter accused us of ordering things we obviously didn't. Real disappointment. Food was nasty freezer burned and no flavor ever time we complained the waitress said we usually cater to seniors who can not have salt. The food was definitely not fresh and to top it off hair in the dessert. Real upset as this place was pretty good when we moved here 2 yrs ago. The portions are huge for the excellent, can't be beat prices. I always leave full and OVER satisfied .The staff is welcoming and polite. This place is definitely not the best option at all. The service is okay. It's what you'd expect at a diner. If you are going to come here for a quick breakfast of eggs and stuff, that's what this place is good for. However, I wouldn't order any of the expensive, "exotic" foods. My dad, who never complains about any food, hated the mussels. That just goes to show you that it is a good idea to just stick with basic foods like I said above. Ordered from doordash multiple times first few times I understood, but as time goes on it didn't improve constant issues with menu, told I ordered wrong. There is only one way to order from doordash as per the menu that is approved. Called assured the issue would be resolved, was not resolved. I order for my father so it is important for him the order is correct, few pleasures as 79+ for him to enjoy except for meals. Sad that I would have to explain who and why the order needs to be correct. Admonished by manager that the order was my fault, not only did I order what was on the menu, but also noted what I wanted clearly extra and more than willing to pay, instead now I have to cook and lost the money for the item, the tip for delivery always 20% and disappointment to contend with, but according to managers at Mikes it is the customers fault not the menu, not the call to correct the issue and of course not the girl who can't take the time to read the menu, the Kitchen staff who prepare the order or the manager who makes it the responsibility of the customer to correct the menu... done stick a fork in me. Came with a group of 3 late last night, post bar hopping. We were sober but the food presented to us was clearly for those so severely intoxicated they'd have no idea what they were eating. Here's the rundown of our order: Curly fries: standard, tasted fine French toast: undercooked and flavorless. One person in my group asked for it well done but it arrived so soggy it could melt in your mouth (in a bad way) Eggs: also undercooked; asked for well done Sausage: tasted like bologna and had an odd color Beverages: there were none - waitress didn't even bring water until 5 minutes before we finished eating I also asked for a slice of lemon meringue pie and the waitress herself said it wasn't fresh and wouldn't recommend it. Local diner on the main avenue. Always come here super late after a hang out. Pretty good burgers cause thats what I always usually get. I enjoy the fries cause they come a lot with your burger. I love the pickles but not the coleslaw that they give you before your meal but my BF eats every lettuce and its so gross, no kisses for you after haha. The waitress are nice and I always enjoy a nice chocolate shake! Decent prices and theres TV's and its not as big as the others but theres a private parking lot too. read more

Pretty decent diner. Service is pretty good. Sweet potatoes fries are great! The buffalo wrap isn't really chicken cooked in buffalo sauce, it is just added on. There are TVs for those who like to watch while they eat. Try to get a table in the main part of the diner because the part by counter is always cold. The parking lot is kind of tight and small, but diner is always open. read more

There's countless diners on Staten Island, and few agree with me, but I think this happens to be my favorite. The menu's a little different, and there's always coffee in my cup. This is usually my hangover spot. The panninis are pretty good. I don't eat salads, but i've seen them, and they're massive. Don't rule this one out of your "it's 2 am and i need something to make me regurgitate all this tequila" trip. Multiple things advertised on the menu were "unavailable" which in my opinion is ridiculous for a local dinner but whatever. I've been eating at Mike's for many years. I find the food is consistant. The portions are enormous & very well prepared. I find the manager Dimitri to be always friendly & very warm to myself & all the guests which is very important. I wish more places would have a person as nice as he is to make you feel at home. Its a great local place for families to have a nice relaxing meal. They are constantly trying to make a good menu even better and stronger by creating new dishes instead of the same old "safe" dishes, that all their competitors do. Dimitri puts his ideas to the paper & then has his chefs George & Mario make them & have his staff evaluate them to see how they like them. If they are all in agreement & like the dish, Dimitri will put out his idea as a daily special. Keep up the great work !!! I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this great local eatery !!! Rude loud and obnoxious waitresses blame the kitchen for all screw ups and then argue with you when they brong the wrong order and say it is not wrong. Management doesn't care at all. This is the absolute worst diner not only on Staten Island but in the NY/NJ area. In the past year I have ordered from this diner at least 4 times after work, usually around 1030pm. Unfortunately every time I order they seem to get it wrong. After the last time this happened the manager got on the phone and said they would send out a replacement order because it only makes sense to keep their customers happy. Yet tonight I again revived another incorrect order, after myself and the woman who took it both repeated it twice, 1 Turkey burger no bun, Swiss, fried onions and mushrooms. 1 Turkey burger, Swiss, onions, bacon (which had no bacon and was covered in mushrooms that I don't eat), and a matza ball soup ( that they sent barley). Now I call back and have her repeat to me the order again only to have the manager get on the phone and I listen as the woman tells him that I asked for mushrooms on both.....Now I'm faced with a new and final problem. Not only are you a horrible restaurant but I CAN'T TRUST YOU! Which in my opinion is a million times worse than just sucking. I would give them no star of possible. I have tried all of Mike's diners and the best by far is Mike's Place on Hylan Blvd., never a bad meal. The Unicorn is a close second. When friends visit from another borough they want to go to Mike's for the Mussels in marina sauce. It is the best and we have tried many places including restaurants, no comparison.
