Excellent customer service, start to finish. Had some faulty windows on our warranty. Spoke to a professional and kind Rep, Carlos, who was incredible at walking me through the process, and helping schedule a tech to come out and replace the windows. When the Tech showed up, he was also professional, respectful, knowledgeable and mentioned there had been an issue with one of the replacement windows he was to install, and he was waiting for a confirmation that someone was bringing him the new one being made. Another tech drove the window out, windows were replaced in a timely manner, Tech was wonderful. Great experience with Milgard! Based on my conversation with Milgard's office, I thought I was going to be in for a fight about whether the door warranty covered one or both of our patio doors (which come together in the center) or allowed Milgard to substitute a different color for one of the two door handle assemblies. My 36-year old glass sliding door was very difficult to slide so I called for Milgard to come and repair (lifetime warranty to the original owner is a super good deal). The repair was quick (35 minutes) although the door removal was not so easy. I cannot believe how easily the door now slides and I wish I had called them years ago. read more

Horrible quality windows. Our windows are failing one by one, starting a couple years ago. This picture is of the INSIDE of the window between the panes, so it can't be cleaned off. Unfortunately the warranty lapsed ~1 year ago and milguard is refusing to offer any sort of support despite the complete failure of their product. Even worse, we tried calling a couple years ago (while it was still under warranty) and were given bad info that we weren't covered under their lifetime warranty since we weren't the original homeowners, so we didn't proceed with a claim at that time. Of course, they have no record of that call. They said if it was a single window, they might still offer a goodwill replacement, but because it's multiple faulty windows there's nothing they can do. You would think widespread failure with the same issue in multiple windows would be a compelling reason to stand by your product, but apparently the opposite is true. Poor quality product and poor customer service, I'll never go with Milgard windows ever again. read more

I purchased a $3,900 sliding door from Milgard last year. Wanted a lock and ordered from a good lumber yard. Received it and found it had absolutely no directions, in trying to install it a part broke. Been trying for an hour to get a phone call into Milgard to see how this issue can be resolved. NEVER have I seen a company that does everything possible to keep customer from contacting them. If I had know how NON RESPONSIVE the company is I would not have spent a total of over about $4,000 with them. Do no recommend them, customer service does not exist. read more

After numerous phone calls and emails to the Milgard over the past several months I have received zero help in getting my door fixed. I do not have the time to keep contacting Milgard only to have them tell me they will set up an appointment for a technician to come fix the problem, and then nothing. The door is less than a year old and has locking mechanism that have failed. I only wish they would just sell the replacement window for ppl to purchase, or window ppl to replace/ rather than the whole unit...requiring them to remove the whole window, including the outside frame. Milgard painted vinyl windows are trash! Milgard is refusing to fix my bronze painted Trinsic windows - these windows were delivered with missing paint, peeling paint, over spray and under spray. I spent thousands on the paint upgrade only to have Milgard deliver garbage. Milgard field reps (three have visited my property) have clearly told me that the quantity of complaints has been through the roof - in response Milgard has now adopted a policy of refusing to fix paint issues AND they have changed their painting process. Milgard was so bad at painting their own windows they have to now ship their windows to a third party who paints them professionally and then Milgard assembles and ships them. I wasn't lucky enough to have the new process done on my windows - Milgard knows their paint is trash and is telling me to piss off. Milgard sells trash and needs to support it. I'll be posting this on every Milgard vendor within a hundred miles. I'll remove these postings when Milgard stands up and does the right thing. for now - Milgard sucks and knowingly sells a defective product. That is unacceptable - I'm pushing them to do the right thing. read more

I've been tasked with caring for my elderly mom's home and had a question about adding a security stop on her windows, but had no idea when they were installed, style, warranty, etc. I called Milgard and they were able to identify the product and installation info, as well as the part I was looking for (official name: window opening control device). The gentleman in the service department, Gilbert, patiently answered all my questions, including how to install them, and will be sending me the parts right away. They let me go for literally no reason and then when I tried contacting a number of different managers to ask about the reason I was let go, they all ignored all my efforts to touch base. Be wary of applying for any job working for Milgard Windows. And I also can attest that they charge the most for their products but don't care as much as they could or SHOULD about the quality when their workers are rushing thru the fabrication process. I had over 20 double-paned Milgard windows installed in my house when it was built in 2001. One window started to leak a couple years ago after a very cold winter. I put in a warranty request not expecting much after 18 years. To my surprise, the window was covered and Milgard provided me a date of when they would be out to repair the window within hours. On the day of the repair, the Milgard team called and asked if they could stop by early -- first time! They arrived promptly, removed their shoes in my home, and had the old window cartridge out and replaced with a new cartridge within 10 minutes. Really nice guys, too. Needless to stay, I'm sticking with Milgard if I ever build another home: great windows, great warranty, and great service! read more

Horrible customer service! Was hung up on and treated poorly. I would suggest new office management. I wouldn't even speak my my mother-in-law like that. Would never recommend. Gross and nasty won't get my money. We spent thousands. No wonder you folks are always hiring. I asked for an invoice, and the office manager must have sent it to a wrong email address. She hung up when I asked her to calm down. When I called back, I was transferred to a lady who barely spoke English. That's fine, but don't get upset when I ask you to repeat yourself to make sure I have all of the info. Then some brutal woman who was gruff, got angry when I corrected her on the spelling of MY name for the invoice. Three people to ensure the payment was processed and documented? Get real. If it takes getting hung up on, and three people to make sure I get a receipt, you better believe I can get windows elsewhere. I love a good remodel, but it's people who make the experience. Flag. We had a window seal leak. I contacted Milgard and they scheduled a replacement. The repairman was on time and replaced the window. He was extremely professional, courteous and very well organized. Also, his truck was very organized and clean. Why do I mention that, because you can always tell a professional by the way he keeps their tools and truck. I highly recommend Milgard. P.S. Our house was built in 2012 and is LEEDS certified with Milgard windows all around. We are the second owner and one window was showing signs of a seal failure. I figured I would have to buy a new one and called Milgard. It turns out that there is a lifetime warranty for the original owner but also a 10 year warranty on a resold house. YAY. We had the new window installed today at no cost to us and it looks like new. Thank you Milgard! PS: Pray with us that any future failure will occur in the next year :-) read more

Recently had window replacement by warranty cancelled again due to weather conditions. Ok, this would seem reasonable except that when they scheduled it in December for March they would have known that this area has weather down to 40 degrees so why did they schedule? The biggest challenge is that they have one scheduler back in the Midwest I believe for milgard but they farm it out to installers around the country and there is little communication between the scheduler and the installer so you don't know if you schedule whether the person who measures and installs will come or not that day/time and whether they will have read the claim or not. My warranty claim was placed in October, I don't know when the windows will actually be replaced. read more

I have around 45 Milgard double-pane windows in my house, which has just reached it's 10th birthday. The seals in the double-pane units started failing after 5 years. I've just had the third batch of double-pane windows replaced. At this point, every window on the south side of the house has failed and has been replaced, and most of the windows on the west side too -- the exceptions are those that get no sun exposure, like the ones in the basement window wells. Three windows on the north side of the house have also failed, and were just replaced. The good news is that Milgard has come out and replaced them all with no charge to me. No questions, no BS. Every pane has a unique id number stamped on it, and from this they can identify the original order and the size and location of the window. They are very quick on the job -- just a few minutes per pane, and it can all be done from the inside. The bad news is that it takes about three months from reporting a defect to having them come out, and that there is no way to schedule their visits at a convenient time -- they just tell you when they are coming, and you have to be there. (Of course, they say to contact them if that time doesn't work, and also if there is now additional work to be done) but the scheduling department just ignores any mail you send them.) Also, it usually takes a couple of visits before they bring the right replacements; today was good in that all four replacement panes were correct, but this a first! On prior visits, they had to come back for a second or third visit because they had brought the wrong replacements. Surprisingly, the installer did not have a copy of my original warranty claim, so he didn't know where the replacement panes were supposed to go, and I've had so many fail now that I didn't remember. Fortunately, I was able to figure it out from the size and shape of the pane. One other annoyance, which is fairly minor. The plastic pull tabs that clip into the screen frames and that one uses to insert and remove the screens have a habit of pulling out of the screen frames and getting lost. These tabs probably cost about 5¢ each, but you can't buy them at a hardware store. I've asked Milgard repeatedly to send me handful; they say that the screens are not covered by warranty (which I knew), but they will send some tabs out with the installer anyway. They never do, and I've given up asking. read more

This is strictly in regard to the online customer service. I used the service request online and it took months to finally address my needs. All I needed was a single balancer to repair. They could have sent one in a few days or they could have allowed me to pick one up, as I originally requested. Instead, they finally sent a repair tech to come fix it. I do appreciate the repair tech being sent but this process took entirely too long. I had to leave my home and missed the tech, who left the balancer on the porch at my request. It took forever to get return emails, didn't directly address my needs. They did offer to fix anything else I found. Again, it's really about this online customer service portal, not being able to talk to someone directly, and having it take way too long. I do like my windows and the warranty. This is just a first world problem and I should probably just be happy I got the part I needed. read more

I purchased multiple windows and a four glass panel sliding door. The company that sold the sliding door handed it over to me without two of the 4 glass panels installed. When it came time to install the slider my contractor said that they will not glaze the glass panels, which means installing the two glass panels. I called the distributer and they told me that I should have my contractor glaze the door and the contractor said that the distributor should have it done. The contractor said they wouldn't adjust the sliding doors either. I was forced to glaze the windows myself since the distributor and contractor said they would not help me. After watching the videos I got the glass in correct, however I couldn't get the plastic beading to fit. After telling Milgard about what happened the sent a Rocky a technician to help me out. Rocky got the beading in no problem and adjusted the doors easily. read more

They asked for me to write this review so, here goes. First, I wish I could separate out the scheduling department from everything else. But why, you might ask? Because it went this way; scheduling was lets say very inflexible and not willing to work with customer (me) to reschedule appt. do to their 'software' problem that caused them to miss the first appt. So, I wound up having to take two days off work for an hours worth of work. For that inconsiderate move on their part they only get one star. However, all is not lost. The service technician that came to the house totally redeemed the company with his professionalism, appearance and quality of work. I had two screen doors repaired, one lock mechanism changed and a piece of trim replaced. He knew what he was doing and made sure I was happy with the work he performed. Upgraded all my aluminum windows and doors to Milgards Tuscany line of vinyl windows and doors. They are very well built and will definitely last the rest of my time on... Michael R. I called and there was no question or bs. They had me send them the numbers and within a month, they had a technician in our home and the window was replaced. I've worked with this location (Tualatin) several times. They don't have quick appointments but when they come out they offer great service. They put in the windows and offer how to care for them. The slider at my house didn't; t need to be replaced but the lock became faulty. It took them a while to find the lock; it was over 23 years old but when they did they scheduled a service appointment and came out.They did a great job.!!! read more

We had Milgard windows in our home when we bought it new on 2000. Since then we have had four of them replaced. Three for a bad seal between the two panes and one was a broken frame where the counterbalance spring attaches. Each time it might take two weeks but they come out and replace them. It is a very fast process too. If I had a choice I would have bought aluminum frame ones but I have vinyl but again as I long as I stay here they are replaced so still a win. read more

Not only did they repair those windows but proactively ordered new springs for ALL my windows and replaced them without me asking. Steve the repair man was great in explaining how the springs needed to be swapped out with a new supplier since the previous ones had known issues. They make good windows and doors, yes. Their service department is terrible. If you have a problem with one of their products and need to work with them to fix it, you will greatly regret going with a Milgard product. Try another manufacturer if you can. I've been in a 9 month long saga to get a recently installed door to work properly. The service team has been extremely unprofessional. Their story changes every time I talk to them. It is extremely difficult to schedule service and everyone you talk to, besides the service techs that come to your house, are completely unprofessional. When you call them they treat you poorly and look for any excuse to blame you or someone else. Now, after telling me they would take care of my issues, failing to remedy the situation after countless attempts, and then offering me a refund in multiple emails, they have decided they will not take any responsibility and want me to go back to the original installer. They told me they would take care of my problem and now that they can't figure it out, they are trying to get rid of me. Please go with another manufacturer! read more
