I used to love the milk bar pie slice (formerly known as crack pie). And I don't know if it's because I'm older now and my taste buds are less interested in super sweet things but it just didn't hit this time. The crust was too soft and moist and it just tasted off. It wasn't terrible but just not what i remembered. The server was super nice though and gave out a free sample of the ice cream. Which the salted ice cream flavor is not my fave but it was nice of her nonetheless. read more

Really wanted to try a milk bar since I've ordered their treats online. Came to this location at 7pm and it had a sign that said be back but didn't say how long. Decided to shop and walk around and come back and it was opened so I ordered the special strawberry shortcake and a few cookies to go. The employee was pretty friendly and gave me his recommendation for The Milk Bar pie. Additionally, I ordered cereal milk as a drink. Please note that both items together are incredibly sweet, so I recommend water also. Other than that, they're a great snack post dinner. You have to try them at least once and decide if it's something you'd like to do again. Personally, every time I go home to New York, I will stop by. I had these cookies many years ago and they were so delicious. So when I saw this location I got my kids all excited about their cookies. However to my dismay after ordering the 3 cookie deal and a milk bar pie by the slice , it was so underwhelming. I may not actually drink milk but I am obsessed with Milk Bar. What's cute about this spot is that it is a to-go window, so it's perfect if you want to enjoy one of the many delicious treat Christina has gifted the world. (If I refer to her solely by first name that means we're friends right?!) I've been quietly stalking Milk and Christina from afar being a huge fan of her on Masterchef Kids, her featured episode on Netflix and her journey as a chef. I purposefully built my trip around visiting a Milk location so when I pulled up my maps to find one within ten minutes walking distance. I basically ran like a kid trying to see Santa Clause. Although I wanted to order the whole menu I only ordered about half of it. The cereal milk ice cream with cereal crunch gave me so much life that I don't think I had a chance to catch my breathe because I inhaled it. It was so damn good. I want a cone in my hand right now but I can't because I'm back home in New Orleans. The desserts are sweet but I have a sweet tooth that basically runs my life and ruins my diet so I was in love with all of the desserts here. I also had a slice of the classic birthday cake and that crumble and elevation of textures within each bite was divine. A slice ran a little under $10 and although you can easily share a slice-- DON'T., Eat a whole slice by yourself. Be selfish. Treat Yourself. While you're eating all of these desserts that are zero calories (don't fact check this, just go along with it) you might as well also order a slice of crack pie. I actually saved it and ate it the following day and it was so good. I probably ate it within four bites seriously. The winning moment for me was finding out they ship NATIONWIDE. I've been sleeping on this and thinking I had to wait till I was physically in New York City. I'm super happy though my first time was in-person and I can't wait to go to a full size location on my next trip. Dreaming of you Milk and all of your delicious treats. After watching a Netflix documentary about Milk Bar, I had to come visit when I was in New York! I had high expectations since my friends had hyped this place up to me. I ordered the cereal milk soft serve and the crack pie (now named the milk bar pie). The cereal milk soft serve was pretty good, but didn't live up to the hype. It definitely has a unique flavor that I haven't tasted from other ice cream shops. I didn't think the soft serve was bad, but I wasn't wowed. On the other hand, the crack pie was AMAZING! Although it came cold, it was delicious! I couldn't stop eating it and wish I had bought more when I finished. The pie is pretty small, so I finished it in a few bites. Next time I go, I might get more than one. The pie is pretty sweet, so if you're not into super sweet desserts, this pie won't be for you. The service was fast and the cashier was helpful in explaining their menu to us. There's no seating here. It's the kind of place where you order at the window and take the food to-go. Overall, if you come visit, I highly recommend the crack pie! It's such a unique dessert that I haven't been able to try anywhere else! read more

I'm a big Milk Bar fan in theory: I've had their desserts from afar by gift and I've watched Christina Tosi's episode on Chef's Table more times than I can count. So I had to stop by at least the mini store to try the cereal milk soft serve (topped with the crunchy cornflakes). It reminded me of Chick Fil A ice cream, sort of on the frosty, icy side and a little tart. Definitely a "familiar" taste from the cereal milk. I also had the chocolate birthday cake, which didn't end up quite being my cup of tea. It was very dense and fudgy and a little dry (pre-sliced), which isn't the style of cake I go for. Milk was so delicious. I went to New York awhile back and ordered the cereal milk and hated it. I left thinking it was overhyped but milk changed my thoughts this time around. I tried the birthday cake and strawberry jam soft serve. It was so delicious and it literally melts in your mouth. I'm not sure if this was a special for the week or month but it's definitely worth trying if you see it on the menu. I definitely didn't see it last time I was there because I would've ordered it. The ice cream does in fact taste like milk. I enjoyed it. I was a little iffy on the corn flakes given the saltiness but when mixed with the ice cream, it was a good balance. My friend got the same but with fudge topping and she said that it was wonderful. I just want to make a note to anyone visiting New York (Nolita), that they only accept debit/credit in case you only have cash on you. Absolutely LOVE Milk Bar and this little location is adorable and accessible. My go to treats from Milk Bar are the Cake Truffles and the Birthday Cake flavored ones are by far the best. My girlfriend loves the Cereal Milk Soft Serve with Crunch and is sure to get that each time we come here. If you love the soft serve and don't want to lose any of the crunch as it falls off when you attempt to eat it with the little wooden spoon, I would highly suggest getting the Cereal Milk Shake.
