I was thinking about giving 4*s because there's no food, but I don't think that'd really be fair. Anyway, I've only had 2 drinks from there and they were both deeelicious. I had the roasted milk tea with grass jelly- you could taste the roastiness and the grass jelly instead of the grass jelly tasting like bland nothingness (which I have experienced at other boba places). I've also had the mango tonic with lychee jelly... which was bomb. It's like an italian soda. The staff are nice and efficient. There's a fair amount of chairs and outlets. A lot of people come here to study. Sometimes it can get pretty crowded. They also have a clean bathroom. And they close at 2AM. How cool is that? read more

So happy with this place! The first thing you'll notice as you get in is the fun chemistry lab theme that was chosen for the furniture and every other item in the café: it makes the atmosphere very fresh and modern and I really appreciated the attention to detail that was put in it. There's a lot of tables and chairs so, even if it was pretty busy when we got there (Monday night around 10pm), my friend and I were still able to find a seat. The prices of the drinks are pretty reasonable, in fact I spent about $5 for a large boba tea that seriously last me forever. I got the Pearl milk tea and I found it delicious. Since it was a very big cup I probably expected it to have more boba in it, but it was still really good. A detail that I really enjoyed was the bin on the counter with a whole bunch of board games (and phone chargers!!) that you can use as you please. The customer service was excellent. The cashier was nice and I got my drink within five minutes, even though, as I mentioned, the place was pretty busy and there were many people before me. Another pro is definitely the fact that this place is open until 2am, which is very unusual in this area yet extremely convenient, since my friends and I have been looking forever for something more casual to do later at night. Pros: A fairly new establishment and already one of my favorite drink places! The interior is clean and simple with the usual games set up for those who want to hang out. The couple times I've been here the baristas (do we call boba drink makers that or only coffee shops?) have been nothing but wonderful and helpful! I like to taste the tea so I like it more bitter than sweet. I ordered the roasted milk tea and my girlfriend ordered the matcha milk tea. It contained real matcha powder. You could actually see and taste the powder of the matcha. They said the matcha was imported from Japan. The roasted milk tea with less sugar and egg pudding was very good, especially the egg pudding. The egg pudding wasn't any typical egg pudding you get at most boba places, it had more aroma and flavor to it. We'll be back for sure! read more

This place..... I wanted to love it. Ive tried it twice. The first time- first impression. This place smells weird. Kinda like rotten milk.... which is a big nono for a boba shop. They are probably not cleaning their machines. The boba- its ok. Not great not bad, a little hard. And WAYYYY TOO MUCH! Didnt think that was possible but this drink was like 85% balls to the walls. The drink- had no ice. I wasn't even asked. The boba put in was warm which is great except for the fact that then the whole drink was warm then The second time- pretty much same experience despite my hope for something. Conclusion- sure you can go here if your desperate or if its the only one open late at night... otherwise you're better off going to lemon. I must have had bubble tea from nearly 20 different places, and this is by far the best and most consistent. The bubbles/boba is always perfectly chewy, not mushy or hard. You can get a huge amount of tea for a good price compared to the small amount and low quality you get at other places. I don't have to ask them to not fill the cup with ice, they add just enough. It's perfectly sweet, and they have good flavors. They use real taro for their taro milk tea, and it's so much better than the powdered taro at other places. Also, the employees are all nice so far, and the place is open really late. There are only two things I could say that they can improve upon. The music is a little too loud sometimes, so I can't hear what people are saying, and I wish they had some more flavors to choose from like lavender, earl grey, almond, rose, etc. UPDATE: I prefer T4U now. The boba is great. I literally have never been disappointed whenever I come here for a drink. The milk tea is personally the best I have had, and they have a variety of drinks depending on your preference of flavors. The price point for this boba is relatively cheap as well. A large is ~$4.50 and the drink is LARGE. I can't finish a large serving in one sitting. I would either have to pace myself out over an hour or longer, or save some for the next day. Some things that Milk Tea Lab can work on is the store itself. It is a clean boba shop, but sometimes the floor near the pick up area is sticky, and it is annoying to feel the stickiness underneath your shoes whenever you go to pick up your drink. The music is okay, rather loud, but as long as you don't stay there for a long time its not a problem. The service is fast, but great. I remember one time my friend wanted to add boba to her drink after she paid, and they split her topping between the one she ordered and boba to compensate. The air conditioning is limited inside this shop so beware if it is a little warm to your taste. If you go during the fall or summer, this won't be as much of a problem. read more

Moved back to Concord after 5 years and was pretty excited to see a new boba place! Not the best I've ever had, but it's probably one of the best in the Concord/Pleasant Hill area. I really appreciate the layout, wall color, and everything about the decor. It's so pretty and refreshing! I've ordered the Classic Milk tea, Jasmine Green tea, and Mango smoothie before. All amazing and for the size they give you, you might as well upgrade to the Large for an extra 50 cents! I also ordered one of their special drinks once (something with the word "Spongebob" in it). I don't remember which drinks it was a mix of, but I remember really liking it! Don't think you can go wrong with any of their items! They have a ton of board and card games so my friends and I were able to grab a booth and just hang out for a couple hours. Some of use even ended up buying more drinks :) When I went in late August, they didn't have stamp cards yet but said it would be coming soon when they added food to their menu. Will need to go back soon to check if they added these features. Would love having a stamp card! I came on a Friday night once and I noticed that it turns into a high school/DVC hangout spot around 10pm. Makes sense though, since it's so close to Century Theaters and down the street from DVC and College Park. Heard this place among my friends. So I came here to check it out. I like how big and clean this place is. They have a lot of space here, enough chairs and desk for you to hang out with your friend. This spot is pretty good. Their milk tea is amazing. Right amount of milk, a little too sweet, but is one of my favorites. Taking that first sip and getting boba was delightful. The boba had a sweet honey taste and had the right consistency. Not too hard not too mushy. However, letting the boba sit in the drink makes them soggy and ultra sticky and they lost their flavor fast. Minus one star for the boba. I minus another star because we were told by one of the workers to keep our masks on when we were consuming their drink/boba. I understand that COVID is a thing. I work in a restaurant and workers have to keep a mask on, but the customers do not when they are at the table consuming the food and drinks. We were sitting inside waiting for the chicken we ordered so we wanted to enjoy their drink while waiting. With the tier contra costa is in, we are allowed to have our mask off when consuming bought drinks or food from the certain establishment.
