Nice ambiance, good service, and very good food. Didn't try the beers as I'm not a big beer fan, but they seemed popular with everyone else. I had a really nice cocktail with our dinner. Service was very friendly and attentive. Lots of interesting options on the menu. We had a coconut wing special which was excellent. I had the 50/50 beef/bacon burger which was very good, as were the Belgian fries (crispy, salty, and tasty!). Wife had fish and chips and said it was tender and well done. Only weak spot was the brownie dessert. It was ok, but not at the same level as the rest of the food. Highly recommend overall! read more

I cross country travel quite often and this is my first time here. The AGM greeted me when I walked in and he was super welcoming and friendly. What a great lunch in a pretty place! I love the open barn feel. I started off with a Pumpkin Nice martini, which was quite creamy and nice! A perfect start followed by a fabulous Mill House poutine which was cheesy and delicious! For entrées, we ordered the Thanksgiving sandwich and The meatloaf patty melt. Wow, both were amazing! I really loved the onion jam on the meatloaf sandwich. Amazing! Service was great, and the Thanksgiving sandwich was delicious as well. I will definitely be back! read more

Parking can be tight cos- Poughkeepsie- but the ambiance is good- can be kind of loud at times but busy restaurants are. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Lots of screens around showing sports and stuff but no closed captioned so I guess they're more for decoration then watching? Didn't feel rushed at all thru the courses. I ordered this guido meatloaf special with broccolini and a polenta that was made more like a risotto. It was amazing and absolutely will try duplicating. I've been here for parties and private events as well and it's always a good experience. Family friendly too tho if you are in a wheelchair or similar you may have some challenges. read more

Located on Poughkeepsie artery, with available parking, their ambiance is highlighted by nice rustic decor, simple menus and a courteous younger staff. I feel comfortable recommending the Mill House as a sure bet to enjoy a nice meal with all of the comforts. read more

In my best 10 restaurants of 2022! My friend was raving about this place for weeks, so when I came to visit we made dinner plans. The place was much bigger then I expected with a large first floor, a second floor and even an upstairs terrace. It had a modern southern charm touch, very warm and inviting. We weren't in the mood to really drink but we wanted to try some beers so we shared a flight. It comes with your choice of 5 beers, we went with some of their lighter and fun flavors like the Cucumber Blessings & the Everything's Coming Up: Pineapple. Definitely a fun thing to do if you need help figuring out what beer you like from here. For dinner we ordered the Bang Bang Cauliflower to start. AMAZING! The cauliflower was fried perfectly and the sauce was tangy with a heat that was very delicious. Probably my favorite item of the night. I also order a Mac n' Cheese that is different then one on the menu right now, it came with brisket instead of chicken cordon bleu and was delicious. So cheesy! Can't wait to come back! My friend is actually planning on having her rehearsal dinner here and I can't wait. read more

Loved the decor and ambiance here. We had a large group of about 15 and the service was great! The food came out on time, and it was hot and everyone's food came out at the same time! Good job! They had several servers bringing the food-cleaning the table- and checking on everyone. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. The only downside is that they said they could not separate the check...????!!! So we had to wait until it was time to pay to go up with our credit cards and try to figure it all out then! I mean really, why could they not have separate checks? It really didn't make any sense to any of us. it just made it more confusing when it was time to leave. But other than that the service was fantastic, and everyone enjoyed their food. read more

Another swell Poughkeepsie find! I swear this city is on the cusp of being a culinary hotspot, with eateries like Hudson & Packard (obsessed). While not the most vegan-friendly menu, the single entree noted as vegetarian (cauliflower sticky rice) is easily modified to be vegan. Despite the humble name, it is absolutely delicious! And although I'm normally bummed out that the sauce that really ties everything together is going to have to be left off, this is one of the rare times that it didn't matter (but soy sauce is a nice addition). If, like me, you're not into beer, there is a decent wine and cocktail list. I had a perfectly fine sparkling wine by the glass (several of them, if you must know. It had been quite a week...) I loved the bustling modern beer hall atmosphere, with plenty of space but enough sectioning off to make it feel intimate. There's another level or two, as well (great for parties) and an outdoor patio. We had the most personable waitress and we were very impressed with the service overall. I regret not having discovered Mill House Brewing before moving out of the area, but here we are. I'll be thrilled to return next time we are back in town and I'll be recommending Mill House to friends and family. read more

Very good upscale pub food. But - prices do not warrant the portions or food - brisket platter lunch - $40? Burgers: $18-$22 ? Portions on the small side, but prices on the nosebleed side. Staff is very friendly & attentive, nice interior, & "interesting" selection of draft beers (I think brewed on site?). Suggestion: beers don't need to be "fusion" - just have to be really good! read more

We sat at the top floor which was super nice for our party of 9. Huge table and nice private section. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Delicious! The flavors were there. The imperial stout was incredible and a really good price. Our waiter was really nice, though not too attentive since it was a little busy on a Sunday afternoon. Definitely a must go. read more

We stopped in here for dinner and it was very busy. The atmosphere is that it is a little dark inside at some of the tables and can get a bit loud. I ordered the Peach & Goat Cheese Salad with Grilled Chicken (I don't recall if the chicken came with it or I added it for additional charge). It was very delicious and unique as I have not seen this kind of salad option at other restaurants. I loved it!!! Highly recommended! My husband got the Salmon entree, and he enjoyed it as well. My salad portion was more than enough for me, but my husband Salmon wasn't a big enough portion to fill him up. We would definitely return to this restaurant if we were in the area again. read more

Very nice and friendly staff. Good service. We came in to watch Wimbledon Tennis on the screens. They put the game on for us at a convenient table. Poutine fries with gravy and cheese - delicious app. Shared a fish sandwich by 2 people. Cucumber Beer was pretty "girly", but refreshing. Cocktail tasting beer seems to be trendy this summer. Kolsch was also good. They brew everything in-house. Nice outdoor areas. Clean bathrooms. Not too busy weekday lunch. read more

Great place in Poughkeepsie! Great Yelp reviews brought me in, great food will bring me back! To start, our server, Jason, was fantastic. He was super friendly and was great in his walk through the beer and food menus. I started with a Kold One, their award winning Kolsch. It was a smooth drinking beer, so smooth I had to have a second (and pick up a 4-pack to go). We started with the the Buffalo Fried Brussel Sprouts. These were super tasty. They were perfectly cooked with the leaves being left nice and crispy. My wife had the Crispy Chicken Sando. I know it was good because I didn't get a bite. All I got between bites from her and as, "so juicy". I had some of her hand-cut fries and they were great. I debated on a variety of options on the menu. Jason highly recommend the Cuban. Now I am a w fan of a Cuban sandwich so after he reassured me how good it was I decoded to jump at it. He nailed it. The bread, the ham and pork so nicely complimented by the cheese, mustard and pickles. Man! It came with their house-made Old Bay Chips. Wow, those are some good chips! read more

Why did it take me such a long time to come here?! It's not in the best area but it's such a gem. I absolutely love the whole vibe and the decor inside. It feels so warm and cozy, yet a great place to catch up with friends. We came on a Sunday night and it was still super busy. I was eyeing a few things on the menu. There are so many delicious options but my stomach isn't big enough. Otherwise I'd choose them all. I had a short rib and gnocchi dish that was out of this world. This place has been consistently going downhill over the last few years. I went there today and a 12 oz beer was $11. I ordered Shrimp Andouille Etoufee which was $30. There were a total of three shrimp in the dish and they were small shrimp. The andouille was so chewy it was unedible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The noise level is untenable. It's unbelievably loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I couldn't even hear the people that were sitting next to me talking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Suffice it to say that I will not be going back there ever again. read more

The staff are incredibly kind and knowledgable about the menu. But service itself was slow. The food is not particularly flavorful or remarkable, especially given their prices. Also worth noting that this is not an allergen-free establishment. They have very few gluten-free options and do not have separate prep spaces. So if you have allergen sensitivities, this isn't a great spot for you. read more

Great meal but pricey. Excellent food with really good service. I felt the prices were high for their basic menu items (think burgers and sandwiches). Overall everything was really tasty, even high end. For the entree meals - I didn't think it was too expensive, but for the basic items I felt it was slightly overpriced. Having said that, I highly recommend it. Their beers are really good as well as their food. Just don't expect to get out for less than at least $30-$40 per person. read more

A friend and I were in Poughkeepsie and wanted to find good place for a late lunch/early dinner on a Sunday, preferably one with good beers. Mill House Brewing Company got me just with their name, but it sure did NOT disappoint. Here is what I noticed: - We didn't have a reservation, but they had an available table indoors so we took it. The outside patios looked really fun...oh well, next time! The vibe inside was nice too...lots of sun coming in from the windows, TV screens around but not annoyingly in your face. - I ordered a flight of beers...$18 for 5 different 4 oz pours which was a lot. The selection of draft beers was great and pretty diverse (including a few sours), which was good for me since I'm not an IPA fan. The Cucumber Ale, Zoe Belgium Dubbel, Blackberry Sour, and POPS Pumpkin Ale were especially tasty. - Since it was Sunday, we were given the Brunch menu. My friend ordered a Burger, which he really liked. I had the Beet & Burrata Salad with Grilled Chicken and it was excellent...the chicken had crispy grilled sections on top. - Service was very attentive. Bottom line: I'd go back to Mill House anytime, whether for beers, food, or both! read more

The food was good but not great. No complaints but it wasn't somewhere I'd repeat. We had deviled eggs, croquettes (least fav), bang bang cauliflower (best choice) and pastrami Ruben Benedict (this was good)! The beers were good! Came from out of town for dinner. Good parking lot. Waitstaff was attentive and atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately my fish and chips were awful. The fish was so salty I could only eat half of it. And the prices are really high. We live in a resort town and I was still sticker shocked. Three of us (man, woman, girl), no alcoholic drinks, but with apps and dessert. $202 with tip. read more

Update: Well I was wrong when I said no one would care or respond, and I don't have a problem admitting it. After my previous review was posted, Tanner, the General Manager, contacted me and said he had missed my email. While we didn't connect in person over the phone, we emailed back and forth over the course of a few days. I felt Tanner was truly apologetic and very interested in rectifying our less than desirable experience. Based on my interaction with him alone, I would give MHBC another try if I find myself again across the river. MHBC is indeed fortunate to have such a General Manager as this gentleman. read more

When we finished, they asked if we wanted dessert. We were hesitant because we were already so full, but Austin encouraged us to try their vanilla cheesecake and we are so glad he did. After hearing so much praise about this restaurant, a few of my friends and I decided to try it. We were sat in the bar area, we first ordered drinks and I asked if I could get a drink but instead of gin I would like vodka, they told me I was not allowed to alter the drinks and that they were made that way for a reason so I ordered something else...then my friend ordered the drink I WANTED with vodka from the bartender and they made it for her no problem. They waitress was very slow and it took forever to get our drinks. Finally the waitress comes with our drinks and informs us that the kitchen will be closing so we said okay we're ready to order. She walks away and doesn't come back until 5 mins before kitchen close. I ordered the steak with gruyere scalloped potatoes. The steak was very bland and the potatoes had no flavor to them and tasted watery and crunchy like they weren't cooked all the way. Fast forward to our $400 bill. We tipped her 20 percent because we used to work in the restaurant business and after she gets her money I hear her talking to the table next to us (people she works with) that is was time for us to leave and dusting her hands off saying she was glad we had paid. Between the menu that has unbelievably great staples and constantly changing specials, to the ambiance from the moment you pull into the parking lot, it is nothing short of amazing. This is how dining out is exactly suppose to be! The service is impeccable and the way the servers work together so seamlessly and efficiently really makes for a great experience. I have gone for a simple lunch date to a 25 person party in the private top floor room and everything in between and NEVER been disappointed. I have a really hard time choosing from their apps list, drink menu and the desserts; they have their own in house pastry team that puts everywhere around here to shame. Nothing but great things to say about Mill House Brewery.. I have been here many many times for either casual drinks and some bar food, quiet dinners, or parties. Always a great experience with food and beer to match. I have tried most of the beers there and none have disappointed although I think my favorite is the Velvet Panda. If your not sure about beer choice, the flight option is a great one that way you can sample all the selections. Any of the food I have ever had here is very good, appetizers and entrees alike. Steak tacos and fig and pig pizza are a couple of the favorites but any option will not disappoint. I have also had a couple of larger parties here on the upper 3rd floor which is an awesome private spot with a nice atmosphere away from the crowd of the main floor. If you are going to go on a friday or saturday night make reservation ahead of time or else it will be quite a wait! 13 year old children tried to order off the kids menu. we asked the waitress for a kids menu and she gave attitude from the beginning. A 13 year old asked for the kids menu and then she said "well are you 12" we responded no and she said "then no" and walked away. If we had been rude or disrespectful then it would've been understood but from the second we asked she was rude. We looked at the menu and we saw that there was nothing that we really wanted so one of the mothers at our table went and asked someone else. She came back with the kids menu, so this shows that it was only her. She came over to take our orders and we ask for 5 orders of the chicken fingers off the kids menu. She laughed and said "okay but i could get in trouble, and the people who gave you that are going to get in trouble". I had a great experience at Mill House Brewing Company hosting a private party for my sister's fortieth birthday. Danielle, the events manager, went above and beyond to see that all of my requests were met, and Chef Dan sat down personally with me to build a custom menu. The pricing was reasonable, the space was beautiful, the staff was professional and most importantly, the food was amazing. Having a private room with our own bartender and servers allowed us to enjoy ourselves completely without worrying about the children in our party running off and getting into trouble or bothering other patrons. My whole family felt that it was an exceptional experience for us because of that factor- with five young kids, meals out can get hectic. We recently held a 90th birthday party for my mother. We had several choices for who would do the catering. We decided to have our special party for my mom catered by Mill House Brewing Company. It was an offsite party at Bowdoin Park. Our choice to use Mill House and Chef Danny Crocco was not only a good decision it was a great decision. Chef Danny left no detail out to the food selection. He even provided more sides as a surprise to us. The food was outstanding. The salads were outstanding and the service was phenomenal. I was in the mood for a good burger. I've been known to drive 1 1/2 hours for one in the past. I didn't feel like doing that tonight, so I searched best burgers in Poughkeepsie. Mill House Brewing Company came up, and they have some good reviews. I've never been there before, but they are literally 8 minutes away from me, so we tried them out, and I am glad that we did. We had a couple of burgers, and a few beers. Their burgers were fantastic. Just a good old-fashioned bacon cheeseburger. It was amazing, and I will definitely be back. I think I found a new spot. They help me create the perfect menu and also helped create a perfect space for our party. The food and beer are out of control good. Every person was beyond happy with their orders. I really love Mill House! Not only is it a really cool place aesthetically, but their beer is fantastic & the food is that much better! It's a really "trendy" spot that has honed in on what they're good at and isn't trying to be anything else. I love that their cocktails are carefully crafted from the ground up and that every bartender takes their time to make things right or doesn't serve it. I am a HUGE fan of their Citra Bridges (a sour) because it's the perfect combination of tart but still has a nice hoppiness to it. If you haven't had their fries... do it! Finally made it to Mill House last night after years of hearing so many great things and we were not disappointed. My wife and I loved everything about our dining experience. For starters, the exterior and interior design and decor give off a very cool vibe which definitely added to our enjoyment. We were told by the ladies at the front door that they have heat lamps, to our surprise they did not. It was freezing cold upstairs! As soon as we arrived on the rooftop the lady at the rooftop entrance rudely asked us if we were sure we had a reservation even after we heard her receive a page on a walkie talkie that said a reservation of a party of 9 was just sent upstairs. We confirmed yes we did have a reservation even though half of upstairs was empty. She gave us two tables and we asked if it was possible to get one more table since we were very squished. She did not want to give us a third table, however a gentleman who worked there told her to just give it to us... since it was half empty upstairs. She then followed to have an attitude and threw the drinks from the neighboring table on the floor to clear the table... I don't know if this is common there to throw half drank drinks on the turf, but it felt very rude and disrespectful. We felt unwelcome by the staff and ended up deciding to leave. We are very disappointed in this restaurant that our graduate from Marist University raved about and wanted to spend her graduation dinner at. Never again will we give this establishment our business. To make it worst, as we walked out she had the audacity to say "have a good night" in a snarky tone.

Ally our bartender, was incredibly sweet, personable, and attentive, and her service made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The space itself is also adorable and has such a welcoming vibe!
