We had lunch at the Millhouse Inn yesterday. First, I would like to compliment the staff for the great job they did handling our large group of 30 people. Someone had taken a moment to call ahead to ensure we could be seated. A little courtesy goes a long way. The lunch menu had offerings from burgers and wings to paninis, specialty salads, sandwiches, soups and more. My friend had the French Onion Soup which was served piping hot with a generous topping of cheese $6. She said the soup was delicious. I ordered the chicken wrap which was served with a bleu cheese on the side, french fries and a pickle $10. The wrap was chock full of tender chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato and had a slightly zesty taste which was not spicy, but gave it a little extra something. The fries were thick, crispy and golden and the pickle had crunch. I finished off with a cup of hot coffee which was served in a canning jar -- cute idea and a very abundant serving of coffee -- this was bigger than a mug. We had a lovely view of the fall colors across the water while eating. Certainly worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

I was very disappointed with the quality of food. The chicken ala Rachel was always my favorite, now it's in a spicy marinara sauce.. " not good" The cappuccino was all milk. The waitress brought out one dinner order and half hour later brought out the other dinner order... the service totally sucked after coming here for the past 14 years... never again! First time coming here, not as busy as I thought it would be on a Saturday night. Sat in the dining room which was nice. My favorite part was the bbq chicken nachos!!! So good, they alone would have me going back. Our entrees were also delicious, big servings. Cosmo was made perfect!!! Great Food. TERRIBLE service. It seems like these girls have never waitressed a day in their life. The first time I ate here, they gave us the wrong food, forgot our drinks multiple times and NEVER apologized. If I was messing up someone's order that much I would hope they would be a little apologetic or concerned. But no, they acted like WE were the ones who made the mistake. Just treated very poorly overall. The food was great however so was hoping it was just maybe a busy day and they weren't used to the summer season yet. Tried it for a second time but nope, the same exact thing happened. Messed up our orders, forgot drinks, and took forever to be served. This place has so much promise because of a great location and great food, the wait staff just needs a lesson is dealing with large crowds and customer service. read more

This place is as townie as they come but their food is very good. It's a good lunch spot and there are a handful of tables outside, which is always a pro. Beer selection is typical. Happy hour specials are on the townie favorites, Bud Light, Mich Ultra, so don't go there thinking you'll get a craft beer half off but it does have its pros. read more

Great service. Had a gathering after a funeral today and they were fantastic. Very patient and accommodating. I definitely recommend.

I have passed this place so many times but never got a chance to stop. Finally went there this weekend and I was very pleasantly surprised. Dont be put off by its local " flavor" nor by the bikers hanging out. The restaurant is in a very pleasantly decorated room that is totally separate from the bar area. I was expecting nothing more than bar type grub but, again, was totally surprised at the selections. It is actually a " real" restaurant. The food is excellent. We had crab soup, german mixed grill, steak, salmon, and a bunch of appetizers. All were superb. We also had desserts....again, excellent Service was prompt, professional and friendly. Awesome local place. Went for lunch on the lake, sat outside and was greeted by numerous sweet nice staff. You'll be surprised by the specials. If asparagus chicken with Havarti is on the menu order one to eat and one to take home!!! The rolls are so fresh and soft. The sweet potato fries are meaty!! Wings are good too. We were told that new owners have recently taken over so items on the menu might no longer be available, and prices may have changed. I would expect the new owners to have new menus ready before opening the doors on their new business. I ordered wings, but never received them. The burger I ordered was freshly prepared and cooked to my liking, but the Cajun spices that they put on were unevenly applied and once in a while I got a mouthful of dry rub. Went for dinner with five other people and definitely enjoyed the food. I started with a crab chowder from the daily special menu that was seasoned well and had taste delicious. I then had the Nellie salad for my entree and added grilled shrimp to it. The grilled shrimp were cooked well, and the salad had roasted red peppers, goat cheese, asparagus, and fried artichoke hearts over field greens. The artichoke hearts were a nice touch to liven up the salad. The portions are quite large and generous. The waitress was super sweet, but the bus girls seemed very annoyed when we wanted to move to a table that was less crowded. My main complaint of the evening is that the room was quite cold. It would have been nice if the heat had been turned up. All in all,it was a fun night out. read more

When asked if there was any consideration that can be offered in light of the fact that dinner was spilled in my lap, was told 'sorry'. I was told by a man I met on an online dating site this was the BEST place for GERMAN food. When we arrived, Memorial Day the place was very crowded on the out side deck. It was a nice day but my date stated he hates eating with "bugs" Odd being a hunter and a fisherman as he stated . Well, the waitress seemed to be a lovely older women. Whom was the only waitress on a Holiday weekend , really ?? Service was very slow. The deck seemed have much more people drinking and dining then inside. Being I was told this is the BEST place for German food, I pictured a much much larger menu . I ordered the German Mixed Plate. What was presented to me was pretty much microwaved reheated food. the sauerbraten had the most vinegar harsh taste, ask if it was covering it up some thing. Beef stuffed with pickles ??? bratworst that was not a whole one sliced in half and grilled. A potato ball ?? Being from German heritage my Mom never cooked potato balls. There was no potato pancakes or Spätzle both traditional German foods nor any Jagerschnitzel. I am not sure how any place can state they are Authentic German Food and not have this on the menu. Being used to the true german food at zumstammtisch in queens , this was the worse food I have eaten!!! With in thirty minutes of eating here, I had the worse stomach. Having to get all the way back to brooklyn with a sour stomach was terrible. read more

Nice place, decent food. Bar area is a little small but they have a pool table and an area for dancing so that is a plus. The night I was there, the bar was packed so it created a nice atmosphere. Didn't seem as if it was a kiddie bar (you know, young, dumb and full of c-m). It seemed like a nice place, where adults can go and unwind. There is also an outdoor patio where you can have a drink and look out over the water.The one downside to this place?? No Ladies night..When I inquired as to the Ladies Night, I was told that it was a Man's bar so thats probably why there is no Ladies Night. But if its a Mans bar, wouldn't you want the Ladies around? I was told that there is a Happy Hour everyday from 4-7 pm with 2fers draft and a $1.00 off items. All in all, I will probably go back, even if its just to play pool and hang out. read more

I used to love Mill House. We went on Wednesday night for my friends birthday. We ended up leaving early because of a blonde 24 year old (yes, she was telling us her age) bartender who kept throwing herself at my friend's husband. Everything about Mill House is great (oh except women's bathroom was out of order also). None of us from our group are going back now. No class. read more

Okay so I have not been to this place in about four years and no wonder why!! I first started off the night when I came in after the Christmas parade with a handful of friends and we had Katie (the other bartender) helping us, she was very helpful and pleasant but being it seemed her station was on the opposite end of the bar we had to deal with Dayna. All night we ordered drinks and started playing quick draw from there I knew she was difficult!!!!Every time I went to play numbers she completely ignored me until I had to practically wave my quick draw card in her face. I guess she doesn't realize if I hit she too will be taken care of. after a handful of top shelf drinks I asked for a menu over three times which she never gave me I had to wait for Katie's attention in order for a menu!! From there Katie gave us a good experience but Dayna kept everything difficult not sure as to why! From there being right on the cut off to order food (since it took over thirty minutes for a menu) Katie had to personally ask if the kitchen would take our order. They said yes which was great and the food was good too! After that we continued to just brush off Dayna's attitude but finally we had enough. I had went to plug in the wire to switch the music and I was beyond shunned!! Not only was I yelled at for touching the wire but I was told it was her bar and yelled at in front of several other customers. Embarrassing and awkward! it wasn't even that serious I thought she was joking but within a couple of seconds I realized this was serious! She continuously carried on and I just tried to explain that the music was horrible and everyone was complaining so I was just trying to change the mood. No one wants to hear screaming music no one unless you want to be in a mosh pitt which no one does! Hope they realize if they got another bartender like Katie how much better the place would be!! We live locally and will not be going back. We always drive to Jcs in Manorville where the bartenders treat you with respect we would never be yelled at by a bartender there NEVER EVER!!!!!! I recommend people there, great food excellent and friendly service! Never a disappointment. hope the owner sees this or manager! GET RID OF DAYNA!! Usually a nice experience, UNTIL I handed the waitress a Restaurant.com certificate. Attitude change abruptly, and was chastised by what appeared to be the 'head waitress,' for several faux pas', including not providing certificate upon seating, they don't accept these anymore, and several other reasons why the certificate would not be validated. After waging a verbal war with the 'head waitress,' she agreed it was usable. However, the meal atmosphere after this was somewhat stressed out. Thank you Mill House Staff! Also, too bad the 'Staff" found it amusing that someone named "Justin," who was a bar patron (bar area attached to dining area), was obviously inebriated, judging by his loud foul, vulgar, and sexually offensive, with the decibels reaching the dining area. The dining staff failed to correct this offensive atmosphere, and indulged "Justin" into more tirades without respect for the dining room customers. If able, AVOID Rest.com certificates and "Justin," and the HEAD Waitress! read more
