A really nice diner style cafe for brunch! Came here randomly on a weekend as we noticed that they had such good reviews, so we had to check it out ourselves, and it did not disappoint! I would say we came pretty late for brunch, so there was actually no wait at all, and service was super fast. First off, the portion of everything was huge, and surprisingly we finished everything, because it was that good. I'm a sucker for tuna melts, so when I saw that on the menu, I had to try it. It was everything I expected it to be and their rosemary potatoes were delicious as it was perfectly seasoned and crispy. Their chicken fried steak was also amazing as well, as it was not overly battered. Had to end the meal with some sort of sweet treat, so we ended up getting the banana walnut pancake, which I'm glad they had an option to order 1 stack. First time trying this place, had the belgian waffle combo and the food was decent. The waffles were carried hard by the syrup to make them taste better, without the syrup it was bland and dry. The eggs and bacon was your typical kind you can get at any other breakfast location, but the highlight was the potatoes. Honestly the best tasting potatoes I've ever had from a breakfast serving location. Service was good, they sat us and took our oders immediately and helped us with anything we need. It is pretty pricey for the amount of food you get(total cost plus tip came out to around $28). It is extremely popular, so the noise level inside is very loud and you're seated directly next to another table/group on both sides if you're seated towards the back. I would come back again to try their other items, but it's most likely going to be a once in a while visit type of location for me. read more

Millie's is one of the best breakfast spots in the Pasadena area. (And their location on Sunset Blvd. is just as good!) I go a little out of my way just to start my day at Millie's every so often. Service is friendly and on point. Their shirts may say "Service with a f**k you!" on them, and I don't particularly get that gimmick, but they don't treat their customers like that. Thank goodness. I usually order the veggie mess: scrambled eggs with cheese and a great mix of veggies (if memory serves, there is squash, bell pepper, spinach and corn in the mix, and I ask them to add some jalapeños to bring a little heat). The whole "mess" is topped with pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. The breakfast comes with rosemary potatoes and toast, but I like to sub fruit instead of the potatoes. Unfortunately, there's an extra charge for subbing in fruit, and also a charge to sub in egg whites. This adds up to a pretty expensive proposition. They make a good cup of coffee and they're happy to refill it as you eat. The only time I got something I didn't like at Millie's is when I tried their Matcha Bowl. Think of something like an açaí bowl, but instead it's matcha blended with bananas, dates, pineapple, avocado and almond milk. Like an açaí bowl, it has fruit and granola toppings. It wasn't bad per se, just not at all to my taste. If it sounds good to you, try it and see what you think. Overall, I recommend Millie's for their great service and quality breakfast food. They have a large menu, including a vegan menu with plenty of great choices for those who don't want meat or dairy. This place is a winner! read more

They have a very extensive vegan menu for breakfast and lunch items including burritos, pancakes, waffles, omelets, sandwich melts, etc. If you are going on the weekend, I recommend getting on the yelp waitlist ten minutes before you arrive because there's always a line. I've had the vegan monkey waffles breakfast plate twice and the vegan chicken and waffles. Both were super delicious and would 100% get again! I don't think any non-vegan would blink twice if you placed those in front of them. I have gotten the apple sage sausage, plantbased egg, tempeh bacon, and potatoes as sides and have always enjoyed them. The other vegan sides are tofu egg, soyrizo, a spicy sausage, and fruit. The milkshake and hot chocolate are delicious and even come with vegan whipped cream. I tried the date cardamom latte (iced) too, but it just tasted like normal iced coffee to me, so I would get a different drink next time. I tried a little bit of the Vegan Devils Mess, but it wasn't for me. It's not something I would've thought to order though so maybe it's someone else's taste, but I like my food more separate. The sour cream topping is pretty good, doesn't seem to be cashew based like most vegan cremas are. My most recent visit was my birthday and they put a birthday candle in my waffles, which was a nice touch. I would love to come out with my vegan friend sometime soon. read more

Came here for brunch. They use the Yelp waitlist. I put myself on there, and requested to sit inside. My table was ready in 20 minutes. However, the host was trying to put me in outdoor seating. I told him that I requested indoor. He told me that there is no table inside is available. I pointed to an empty table inside, and he told me that "there are other people in front of you!" I was not happy with his respond. First, I requested indoor sitting, was told that my table is ready, and he told me that there are other people ahead of me! This did not make sense to me. I told him that I would rather wait to sit inside. He asked me to step back outside to wait, and I did. He called me back in 3 min and told me that my table is ready, which is the table I mentioned to him earlier! Ordered orange juice, crabcakes Benedict, chorizo and egg tacos, and blueberry pancake. The food took a long time to be prepared. We were starving. The crabcakes was small, and it was not worth the price. The chorizo and egg tacos had nothing special about it. The blueberry pancake was decent. Food was overpriced, and not worth the money you paid. 2 stars are for our server because they were attentive to us. My favorite thing about Millie's is that it has a good-sized vegan menu From sandwiches to breakfast items, folks who don't eat meat can swap menu items here for a vegan dish they can enjoy. For myself, I got the vegan BLT that came with tempeh instead of bacon The sandwich was hearty and filling! I only finished half of it and was satisfied. I paired it with a lavender lemonade that was refreshing and sweet, but not overly so :) There's parking here but if you don't nab a spot, there's another parking lot you can use across the street. read more

The English muffin was toasted but tough so I had to be very careful with cutting through. My eggs were nice and runny, but my partner had one egg that was overcooked.
