First time at new location, which I love. Any chance to get to trail dust town! We sat outside, partly because it was nice but partly because we were a party of four adults, two who are tall and two who aren't thin. Their inside booths and tables aren't really user friendly for that, which is part of why only giving four stars. We love our friends, but don't want to play footsie and rubs knees and thighs through the whole meal. I ordered the potato pancakes with bacon, because I am a confused Jew. the bacon was perfectly done. The potato pancakes were good but more of an actual pancake with potato in it than a potato cake, which is what I was expecting and wanting. One of my friends ordered the crepe with apricot and was kind enough to let me try. The topping was fantastic. And it came in a huge bowl so no worries on not having enough. Let me say this. All I wanted was good scrambled eggs. Now I know you are saying what? Well the back story is two days in a row I have visited breakfast joints.(first watch and 5th street diner in Phoenix ). The eggs were terrible and frankly over priced 4 eggs and two Sausage Pattie's $23.00 at 5th street, and $25.00 for the same terrible eggs at first watch. By the way at first watch the sausage was great. Just to be fair. This morning while travelers for work in Tucson, I chose Millie's. And all I really wanted was good scrambled eggs and 4 sausage links. Not over cooked and dried out, not super greasy just good eggs! So I asked my server for the same breakfast I had attempted to eat for the last two days. Not expecting much and a little discouraged. Out came the most beautiful plate of scrambled eggs with a little cheese on top, and 6 of the best sausage links I have had in a while. For those that like scrambled eggs the kind grandma made when you went to visit. The service was phenomenal. They are simply a pancake with Cole kernels of corn in them, and they are delicious even without butter or syrup.! my go to favorite almost every time. Quaint and quiet. That would be reason to go again, and the food was obviously made from good quality products. We shared the Pacific omelette (typically known as a Florentine) and a German Apple Pancake (typically known as a Dutch Baby.) Both were good, but sadly, for the price and size, not good enough for us to go back again. What was really good was the server. I'm sorry I didn't get her name, as she was really helpful when we were seated. When she asked what she could get us, I asked for a bandaid, as I had taken a severe fall in their driveway (which is riddled with tons of potholes!) Actually, the driveway / property belongs to a consortium (?) She brought a bandaid, an antiseptic wipe, and some anitbiotic ointment. So nice! She suggested we go to what we presume is the property management office, where we spoke with Casey (spelling?) He was also very nice and of course appeared very concerned. He had us show him the hole and said he was just speaking with the asphalt company an hour before. Whether true or not, he was very solicitous and assured me that I could come back at a later date, if "the damage" appeared to be worse than we were thinking. (I fell, hard, on the knee I just had replaced last April.) Overall, beware of your footing; the food was tasty, but pricey; and the people were easy to deal with. read more

If you want a good breakfast place, please skip Millie's. The only thing they have going for them is the quaint old house atmosphere in Pinnacle Peak. Arrived first thing on a Sunday morning and they weren't busy. This food was bland, cold, and overpriced. They charge for every little thing - charged us $1 for a spoonful of sour cream. Coffee cups were small and for $3 I expect better service and refills to be flowing. Hash browns were frozen and not cooked properly - not seasoned and dry. Eggs were rubbery. German pancake was cold. To top it off the service was terrible; waitress never came back to refill drinks and the hostess even came to just hand us a check without saying a word. Went to Millie's Pancake House Yesterday, with a group of over 40 people, for a special event. Even though the Restaurant was very crowded and Clean as well as the Restrooms, the Waitresses did an excellent job and get 5 stars. I ordered the Millie's special breakfast which came with 2 eggs Sunny-side up, 2 turkey patties, a whole Belgian Waffle, and ordered a side of Hash Browns, and coffee. My Significant Other, ordered the Avocado Eggs Benedict, which came with Hash Browns and she got Hot Chocolate. My meal was awesome and filling. The Waffle was huge and was about 1+ inch thick. The eggs were perfect and it has been a long time since a restaurant that I have gone to, has cooked the eggs correctly. The way that the waitress described the size of the Waffle, I was expecting a Waffle about half the size. The Hash Browns were the way we like them. The coffee was good. My Significant other liked her meal. But she thought that the Hot Chocolate was mediocre at best. The only complaint that I have is that they had white processed salt instead of Himalayan Pink Salt and they had processed white sugar and not Raw sugar. Next time I go to Millie's I will bring my own Pink Salt and Raw sugar. There was a large selection items in the Drink Menu as well as Milk Shakes. read more

Probably well before they move into trail dust town and when they use to have a 2nd location on Oracle Like most breakfast places on the weekend I expected this to be crowded at 8:30 am. But it was sadly almost empty. Maybe a sign, but I was inside and now committed for some pancakes The decor is kitschy and maybe country. Lots of tables and booths. They also have patio seating Service was excellent. No complaints Coffee was expensive at $3, but so much better than prep and pasty I didn't see German pancakes on the menu, so I opted for Swedish and side of eggs and bacon. Food came out quickly (with no customers they kitchen must be on their game) Eggs were flavorless and need lots of salt and pepper. Swedish pancakes were also lacking any flavor and rubbery. I really enjoyed the food when it was located across the street, but now it seems it's lost that loving homemade feeling. I understand it was a busy Sunday, but breakfast was served cold. I had high hopes for a great buttermilk, pancake and cuppa coffee. The coffee was lukewarm and the pancakes when it came out were gummy, send them back with the comment that they were under done. Second try came out worse than the first. The really sad thing is that the nice waitress said that the owner was actually doing the cooking. If that's the case he needs to hire a chef. Millie's is the first restaurant we dined in since the COVID-19 pandemic started in March 2020. We give them an A grade for providing a safe dining experience. All of their employees wore face covering. Tables were a safe distance apart. The tables and chairs were scrupulously cleaned as soon as a patron left. Ive been to Trail Dust Town and seen this Pancake Haus but never at an hour they were open. By chance, i was showing a friend the area and it was during business hours. The staff have great energy with customers and with one another. We love the vintage yet homey feel of the place. But the food was the star, nailing all the basics. The traditional flavor, the price point, everything came together to deliver an absolutely divine pancake experience. I implore everyone to come experience this tucked away breakfast experience if you havent, and return is you have. Millie's Pancake Haus has been around since the 80s but something different is the new location in Trail Dust Town. Even though they only moved from across the street, the menu favorites are still around. If you're feeling like getting the German pancake though def call ahead or be patient as it takes about 25 minutes to prepare. However, if you want something quicker than that there are def gems in the menu. We went here on a Saturday morning brunch and no waiting for tables, got seated and served food really fast. The interior is still as cozy and homey as before except they have more room and light now in this new building (which used to be the Dakota Cafe). The Russian blintzes were sooo good! So were the potato cakes. The blueberry pancakes were a bit underwhelming but with the other stuff we ordered it didn't even matter. Lastly, their prices for weekend brunch is still very much affordable. The only thing is I don't think they serve boozy brunch drinks but coffee suffices. They've moved across the street into Trail Dust Town which previously housed Dakota Cafe. We'd not been to the new location yet or since my last review a number of years ago. We did try twice. Once on a Sunday and we chose not to wait 45 minutes for a table. Another time we had a rare weekday off and went on a Monday... nope, closed on Mondays. So here it is Saturday morning and we try again. No wait and the place is not packed which, while talking to the staff, was pretty unusual. I re-read my last review and this visit was a complete one-eighty from the last time. We got incredibly quick and friendly service. The food was standard breakfast. Pancakes, sausage and eggs for my wife and a Pacific omelette with onions, mushrooms, cheese and spinach. I added bacon... because bacon is the most important meal of the day. My omelette was rolled and not folded. This made for getting a little of all the ingredients in every bite. It also made it just a tad on the dry side, which I solved with a generous dousing of Tabasco. I thought prices were pretty reasonable as the bill came to under $25, with tip. Now that we have re-discovered Millie's it won't be as long before our next visit. read more
