Walking into this buffet I saw a great amount of dishes I thought would be tasty... but my expectations were soon destroyed when I began tasting the food. This buffet offers both fried rice and steamed white rice here. The fried rice was pretty salty and didn't taste good. They have a sushi bar in the back where the nigiri (just the fish on top of rice) tasted kind of weird. The other rolls didn't taste good at all. They have dishes like walnut shrimp that wasn't actually half bad. This buffet has a lot of seafood options if that's what you're craving. The "cream puff" offered here is dry and bland. The service here is alright; waiters and waitresses constantly took our plates away instead of letting it pile on the table. I saw one of the workers use a tong to pick up a tray from the selection tables and then use it to scoop food. Overall, I wouldn't come here again unless I was forced to. read more

Walked in around 8:45, and the first thing the host or whoever he was said to us was 40 minutes. We were like, huh? Then he said 40 minutes OK? I said OK, fine. Found out that they close at 9:30. Not sure if they greet all of their customers like that, but that was pretty bad. No hello, welcome in, how r u, or anything like that. Horrible customer service! I haven't been here for years, but I do remember the food being fairly good for the price. The quality of food has definitely gone down. The selection of foods is decent. You'll get to eat a variety of foods and get full from it for a good price. However, the food isn't that good. In many of their dishes, ingredients are old and you can taste it more clearly in certain foods. The worst was the oyster. I should've suspected from the gloppy texture I saw, but I thought that people usually fish around and smush food. Yeah, it went bad. I put the whole thing in my mouth, it exploded in there with it's disgusting spoiled taste, I spat it out and threw the other oysters without trying. Then the crawfish. I grabbed a full plate, as they looked pretty good. Turns out over half of the crawfish in my plate were spoiled or on the verge of spoiling. The crawfish meat already turned to colors ranging from gray to black. Some looked fine but already started having a smell to them. There were a few I was able to eat. I don't know what was going on with that or what their circumstances were, but they need to check their food before serving. Food gone bad is just nasty. How could you serve that to customers? And don't get me wrong, it was just those two out of all the foods I tried that actually went bad. The others were fine. Service was pretty bad. Just wanted to order a soda, but it took a while to flag someone down. It then took a pretty long time for the drink to come. They stopped by to drop off the bill on their own, but took a while to process. I had finished eating and was waiting for my friend to finish her last pieces of fruit when a waiter came by to kick us out, saying it's been 2 hours. They could've waited a few minutes since it was pretty obvious we were leaving within the next 2-3 minutes. I had my bag on and all. My friend was surprised and asked about it and the waiter actually pointed out the start time on the receipt. That start time was unfair because my friend came early and waited about 15 minutes for me to arrive. She initially sat at the waiting area and told them she wanted to wait for me to start dinner, but they told her to get seated and wait there instead. She didn't have a single piece of food until I showed up and we got up together to get some. Who knew they'd be so calculating? There were lots of empty tables, so it wasn't an issue of clearing space. It's also not about us eating the place clean. I had three plates of dinner food, one full plate of crawfish, and finally a separate fruit plate and dessert plate that my friend and I split. I also barely filled up my plates. Food wasn't that good, so I didn't really want to eat much. You can see my photos. Also, I'm not here arguing for my 15 minutes to eat more or something. Just to be more considerate that we were obviously finishing and on our way out. No need to be so rude as to point out it's been two hours and be so calculating about start time and stuff when you guys were the ones who made my friend "start" early. I visited this buffet many years ago so I am very glad they survived the pandemic. I was here for lunch yesterday. I was not disappointed with the food options. They had a variety of foods to choose from. I was very pleasantly surprised of the seafood selections. The best part was the lunch price, $18 for lunch was a bargain. They could benefit from leaving the front door open for some fresh air. Another con is that they do not serve alcohol of any sort. What I thought was interesting about this buffet was how they play the happy birthday song on the intercom with your name in it if you request. It made me feel like I was at Chuckee Cheese. I thought it was cute. Other entrees here included Mongolian stir fry noodles, korean BBQ ribs, Hawaiian skewered chicken, Texas toast, chow mein, dim sum foods, hot and sour soup, ribs, pizza, honey walnut prawns without the walnuts, broccoli beef and salad. For dessert they have vanilla or chocolate self serve soft serve ice cream, lychee and red jello (strawberry I'm guessing), fruit, palmiers, mango cake, coconut cake, egg tart, custard buns and other assortments of cakes I didn't get to try. They don't take reservations for parties under 15 people. You come in and get a blue raffle ticket as a number and they call your number. It's Sunday, you know what that means! Instead of our occasional Sunday Pho (fun) Day, we had lunch with some family here. As we walked in, it looked like we had a lot of options to choose from. This place is really nice and surprisingly really good. I didn't know what to expect but everything was super good. Bring an appetite when coming here. When you come to a buffet you get one of everything that you want to try and ten after that if you still have room, get more of what you really liked. The sushi was really delicious. I couldn't believe they had raw sushi. I was skeptical that it would be not fresh but it wasn't!!! That's a first. I also made my own chow mein. I used to frequent this place, but honestly, the crowds and hygienic standards are unbearable. The restrooms are unclean. There are trash and food littered all on the floor. The atmosphere is super noisy and disorganized. The food was OK, but not really up to culinary standards. Very expensive for the quality of food. I went on a Saturday night. We end up paying $137.75 with taxes ( + tip = $150) for 4. However, I never got my drink refilled until we gave them a signal our glasses are empty, I like sushi, but this sushi was not that good. Finally get to try this place out, even though I was a bit hesitated at first because of the medium rating and some of the bad review, but the place turned out to be not so bad. First plate, I had some steam oyster, other seafood, and some sashimi, and I thought they were not bad. The steam oyster was enjoyable, the other cooked sea food was alright, the sashimi (yellowtail I think) was tender, not fishy, and actually good mang. Their fried mackaro was moise and taste good with the washabi soy sauce (it didn't seem like they season it at all, so you need some salty component). 2nd plate, the sushi plate, they didn't have my favorite fish roll with onion, but some sort of mince fish roll with no avocado, or fake crap shit did just fine. Their nigiri selection was not very big, they didn't have my favorite uni, or tako so I just settled with their salmon, tuna, and yellowtail I think. The nigiri were not bad, seem like a balance amount of rice:fish to me, they were tasty, and not fishy like some bad sushi, most of the fish were tender too, not chewy, but then I always selected the small bite size that would fit my mouth, instead of stuffing it like some savage. 3rd and a half, their raw oyster and boil shrimp were enjoyable, I was afraid that the raw oyster might be fishy, but nope, mostly clean and easy to shoot. Their clam with black bean sauce on the other hand, mang they need to do a much much better job at cleaning these guy, because I fcking hate biting into sand when I am eating seafood mang, also it was on the lukewarm side, I am not sure if this is a thing to prevent the clam from becoming too dry over a period of time or not, but just putting it out there, because lukewarm food always made me cautious. Also there was a piece of crab in the clam container, well I guess i'll be taking some allergy med later. The half part plate thing, I just went around and sample stuff, and I thought that their mayonnaise shrimp was definitely better than the kungfu panda crap that is always full of batter, and smell funky. Their fried banana is a must try ya, and don't neglect the green bean just because it's a buffet, also seem enjoyable. Didn't have anymore space in my tummy for dessert, but overall I thought it was an enjoyable meal, the waiter was attentive at removing my fisnished plate, well they wasn't very busy anyway. I can't remember if I read on the food inspector's website for Milpitas a few years back if they got a citation or not, but I would think the cleanliness here is questionable. Clams in general were sandy. Yes, sandy, you can really feel the grit in your teeth when eating them. The sushi here isn't actual sushi and pretty hard to stomach without water. Other options such as the bake oysters were really buttered and just didn't taste good. The Chinese hot food section looked way over sauced out; but maybe I'm just thinking too healthy. I guess if you come to these kinds of places you aren't overly concerned about nuitrition since it's a buffet after all I was pretty bothered by the tongs to grab the food with. I don't think they're wiped down and they felt really greasy. Tables and floor was also sticky which was kinda gross. Today was our first time going to eat at Milpitas buffet. We went in and where sat down fast, they got our drinks and we where eating fine. We got up to get sushi, there was a HAIR in the sushi. My question is why aren't they wearing hair nets? There was a literal hair on my sushi. We lost our appetite and just paid and left. The bathrooms are so unsanitary, there's no toilet seat covers for toilets, there's no privacy the locks don't work you can literally see the person inside the toilet from the lock missing, For them to be charging $26 per person they should invest in fixing their bathrooms and being more sanitary. read more

Been there twice. One on Sunday lunch and one on Tuesday lunch. I preferred weekday because less people and less crowded around food station. On weekends there are a lot of people and tables are very crowded. Plates and cups are not clean well. You can still see the leftover food residue. The items they don't have on weekdays (that I am aware of) are crawfish, snow crabs and big oysters. Since I don't typically eat those in Chinese buffet I am ok with it. I mostly like their veggies items. One item they have that you don't normally see in Chinese buffet is grilled corn on the cob. Although it was on the pricier end of most buffets they gave good service and their quality of food and selection was superior to most in the Bay Area. When I arrived at this buffet I was pleased and food was cooked very well. BUT when I entered the "bathroom" I think it was more meant to be a homeless shelter. There was a awful odor from the pipes, toilet paper on the floor, one toilet without a stall with a trash can on top of it, unsafe flooring, random patches of walls not there, duct tape door handle, no toilet paper, un workable paper towel dispenser, sink was broken, pipes were leaking, feces in the toilet unflushed, and a metal bar sticking out a stall with a towel over it???
