If I could give zero stars, I would. I visited this restaurant for dinner with a party of six, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The food was overpriced considering the quality. Much of it did not taste fresh... The sushi, in particular, was extremely cold, clearly previously frozen despite being freshly set out. There was also a very limited variety of dishes available; for example, there was no chow mein, which was surprising for a buffet. That said, I did enjoy one item: the imitation crab on a shell, which was flavorful and well prepared. We were seated promptly upon arrival, which I appreciated. However, the service took an uncomfortable turn when we were given our bill unusually early, long before other nearby parties who had arrived well before us. It felt rushed and gave the impression that we were being pushed to leave, even though we hadn't been there long and still had food on our plates. After paying, we stayed seated to finish our meal, but the staff continued to watch our table and seemed to be discussing us from a distance. This behavior made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. Overall, I would not recommend this buffet. Between the lack of variety, the quality of the food, and the uninviting service, I do not believe it's worth the cost. For the price, this has to be the #1 buffet in the Bay Area. Some will argue with me saying Tomi is better. I personally prefer Milpitas Buffet more. Now if the price isn't an issue, Oriental Sushi buffet in San Jose is the best. Milpitas buffet is really good in everything except for the fact that their food are not that fresh. Sure, you get crab legs, delicious mussels and fresh-from-the-sea oysters, but at times, I have to toss out food because it was obviously not fresh. Overall, I love it (since it beats every Asian buffet out there, with the exception of OS buffet). Be sure to come in early to avoid waiting in line. This place gets packed really quick! I came in late at lunch time and enjoying our lunch very much almost done, the dinner customer start coming in, on my last plate I did not pay attention on some food for dinner they are placed on the side and I got 1 beef spare rib for dinner customer. Then right away the staff standing at my table and saked me "Do you wants to change to the dinner price?" I said this is my last plate and why? then they said that beef spare ribs is for dinner I can't have it! I told them that's my bad I did not pay attention for the RED tag, if you don't want me to eat it then you can have it, I don't mind I am full already. They improved so much since I last went here. They had endless clams, crab legs and yes, even oysters. (dinner time) I never had to wait for any of these to come. The only things I had to wait was to be seated and clean dishes. (still not clean after several rounds). Of course, if you expect top-notch seafood, sushi or service, go somewhere else. Milpitas Buffet is by far the best (in terms of freshness & price) in the Bay Area. I have no complaints whatsoever. Service was quick to clean the tables too. My sister had her daughter's baptism party held here tonight, and I have to say I went home hungry for the first time going to a buffet. I thought their selections were comparable to the all the buffets in the south bay, but here are the problems I came across. The sashimi I had was still frozen when I bite into it. There weren't any steaks or some kind of meat to replace the missing steak, and the snow crab legs were limited. I walked around several times and ended up with some small fresh oysters, fresh fried noodles I had put together for the chef to cook, and steam clams. We came around 2:30 PM. It was supposed to be lunch hour but we check out. The guys said it's dinner time already because one of us is the oyster but I told him we came at 2:30 if you're supposed to charge dinner time what time is the dinner time he said as soon as they bring out the oyster is the dinner , time, I do not mind paying more but they're supposed to put a sign to telling us. When is the dinner time and when is the lunchtime I believe 230 is still lunchtime and we only eat less than one hour so this is to me. It's very ridiculous. read more

I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend Milpitas Buffet. I came here on a school trip during lunchtime, hoping to have a tasty lunch. Even though there were open tables, the waiters were very rude and did not seat us. They knew we could not make it back to school in time but did not care, so eventually we left and went to a different restaurant. When we were waiting to get a table my teacher said we needed to hurry up but the waiters ignored my teacher. read more

This is for the people that going at 11am-3:30pm on the weekday. When it pass 3:30pm and u accidentally get the food from dinner time, they will come over your table and yell at you in front of everyone. Specially the manager. They cant really say anything to the costumer for getting the food from the dinner area when there is no sign. I was sexually assaulted by the 40s female employee working. She hit my bottom with her rolled up apron after I said "excuse me" passing by her. There is no path to exit/enter the food areas so it's constant running against people. Heard of pick pocketing here too. It's terrible. Terrible workers, over charged. Charged 3 seniors the regular adult price, charged a 2 yr old baby and a 10 yr old for the adult price. When we asked them about it gave a really bad attitude giving dirty looks and slamming things at the counter. Food was buffet quality...will not return. Wouldn't recommend it either. read more

Wide variety of choices, lots of seafood including fish, crab and crawfish. Also soups, vegetables sushi, fried chicken, pizza, fruit and salad and soft serve ice cream. I give it 4 stars because sometimes the crawfish is not seasoned and cold. Needs to be consistent. read more
