I convinced my friend to go here for breakfast because it's usually delicious and you have lots of breakfast choices besides the usual bacon and eggs. I ordered the potato cake Benedict. Instead of an English muffin, the base is a "crispy potato cake". When our young and inexperienced server brought our food, I could see right away the hollandaise sauce was broken (separated, leaving pools of butter). I pointed this out to our server and she said "yeah, I saw that didn't look right." I decided to give it a try anyway. The "crispy potato cakes" turned out to be anything but crispy. I hate to send food back, but two glaring errors were too much for me. I ordered the eggs Florentine crepes. They were better than the Benedict, but boring and not very hot, served with a side of terrible home fries and cantaloupe. My friend was not too pleased with her "safe" order of bacon and eggs either. Another side of terrible potatoes that LOOKED terrific and two pieces of the thinnest, driest wheat toast, burnt on one side. Went to Mimi's for Sunday brunch. Due to COVID restrictions regarding occupancy we had about a 20 minute wait which was not a big deal on a Sunday. We got seated and it was almost immediately clear that the server had too many tables to efficiently manage them all. We can't fault him for that, if they were short staffed - he was destined to be overwhelmed with patrons' needs. We ordered mimosas, quiche with oatmeal side, chicken and waffles and scalloped potatoes. First, my wife loved her quiche! She couldn't stop eating it! She said it was cooked perfectly with the ingredients being assembled together in a well balanced way. The chicken and waffles was just ok. The waffles were huge! They were really the star of the show. What appeared to be 2 small chicken strips was placed on top of the waffles, but they frankly tasted like 2 frozen strips. That said, the potatoes, quiche, and oatmeal really sealed the star rating! Hopefully next time we go they will be better staffed, the wait for refills, boxes, the check, etc was really just too long. read more

This place has really gone downhill. I think it is new ownership or something. Food came cold, my side of spinach was literally one fork full (pathetic), and waitress kept being slow and making mistakes. I am surprised this place is still clinging on. It might be time for it to pass on. read more

When is breakfast for dinner ever a bad idea? Thankfully, Mimi's Cafe service breakfast all day which was perfect for our needs. It was a really slow night (only a couple other tables) and only a couple people working so a little slow on the service too, but friendly staff and attentive to our needs. I enjoyed a really great Cobb salad, though I had a very long wait for the dressing I had ordered. Our waitress didn't seem to understand the difference between a shallot vinaigrette and the raspberry vinaigrette. Sadly, our waitress was slow to show. The space in which they seated our group of 7 had a high ceiling...very loud, making conversation difficult. Our waitress, though inattentive was nice, but she had very long artificial nails that just scream unclean. We were waiting for our car to get an oil changed and stumbled upon this place. It is a very cute restaurant. We started off with some coffee and mimosas! I loved that they brought out the champagne separately so that you can add as much or as little as you wanted! We ended up ordering the French quarter burger and the breakfast burrito. Both were so good! The fries were skinny and lightly salted, which I loved! Matthew was our server and he did an amazing job. Parking was very easy and is attached to the restaurant. Mimi's has a HUGE menu with all different kinds of options. I couldn't remember the last time I had corned beef hash before this visit. I wasn't the biggest fan of it but I'm all for trying something different. It's salty and tender, just not for me. The Cinnamon Roll French Toast was exceptional! Went here for a work lunch with a small group. It was nice weather and we sat outside. We were the only customers outside. The patio is quite small, but we enjoyed it. Service was on point, server was helpful and gave great insight on menu options (group asked a lot of questions). We ordered the trio appetizer and I was surprised it was so small for the price. I ordered a cup of french onion soup - very good and a daily special of lemon cake which was AMAZING! The group all liked their food as well. We had a coupon as well, didn't realize it required the order of 2 drinks, but the server let us know and quickly was able to get us some to go drinks and apply the coupon - that was awesome! A quaint restaurant I was introduced to a long time ago in SoCal, and always enjoyed my visits, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. I became a regular customer for many years as it has a French bistro and fresh food experience, with plenty of comfort foods and nice breakfast options (all day). Today you can visit Mimi's in most major cities in the US. OK, today's lunch was of solid quality that I remember, and service was friendly and courteous. We both ordered the "trio" meal, allowing us both to select different soup, salad and sandwich items. The bacon and blue salad was tasty and full of bacon, craisins, blue cheese and field greens; a little heavily dressed so you might ask for dressing on side if you prefer to toss it to your liking. We like ALL their soups, Tomato Basil, French Onion and Corn Chowder. All are flavorful, thick, rich and not bland. The sandwiches have a lot to choose from, today was West Coast Reuben with fresh roast turkey, tavern ham, Swiss and creamy cole slaw on grilled bread, very good. Also tried the Tuna cheddar melt on grilled Parmesan bread, tasty. The burgers are also good options. I will start with a positive, the only positive.. from the outside, it has a cute cottage look. Things took a rough turn once we entered. We were left waiting at the host stand for someone to greet us for more than 5 minutes. We were sat by a nice gal who turned out to be our waitress, who did not return for another 10 minutes to take our drink order. She was relatively nice but not good at her job. The gentleman at the host desk was nice as could be. My over medium eggs were flat and extremely over hard. What happened? Mimi's used to be the go to for great food, breakfast and lunch. I went there a year ago for family dinner. Food was so-so, waitress was good and attentive. Food felt old/reheated. Decided to give another try for brunch with colleagues today. Nearly no one was in there. Seated right away and given waters. We were the only table for our server. Waited a while for coffee and approx. 15 minutes for drink order. And waited longer for order to be taken. Once the order was placed, breakfast items, food came out relatively quick. Omelette had little burn around edges and drier than normal. We didn't complain or give feedback, as it was a working lunch, but disappointed and sadly will not be back read more

If I could give 6 stars to only one restaurant, I would give it to mimi's cafe. This restaurant checks all the boxes. The food was absolutely delicious, I got fried chicken and waffles, and was struggling to keep my chicken from my family. The environment of the restaurant was homey, comfortable, and most of all yummy, says the 7 year old. Finally the customer service was absolutely terrific. We got a waiter named Josh who definitely made our experience much better. I couldn't imagine a better way to eat dinner with my family. read more

We went to Mimi's after many years of it being off our radar as it was a location our friends wanted to go to. The results were not so good. The food was basic fare, nothing too special. We knew it was pricey and maybe that was why we haven't been back in 20 years. Anyhow, there were about 50% of the guests wearing coats as it was chilly inside. We had our coats on too. My wife needed gluten free items and got a sort-of-menu on what was available. There were no prices and it wasn't current. I do not eat meat so had an issue with getting a switch on meat. My only 'non-up charge' were the basic potatoes. So I had 2 starches. I ordered the French toast with fruit compote. For $14.00, it was pricey. I guess long ago we started going to First Watch and Original Pancake house as they offer GF and vegetarian items (sorry, I don't think of nor like mushrooms in this area). The waitress was acceptable, yet had a little attitude, which may have advanced due to being out of items on the menu. Maybe she was irritated with her management. Another waitress told me that at one point they offered fruit or cottage cheese in place of meat, but that is no longer. The potatoes that came were not all fully cooked and after telling the waitress, we got a cold shoulder on that. First Watch would have immediately replaced them. I would have given them 1.5 stars, but instead increased to 2. Maybe this note will tell corporate that they have issues at this location. Anyhow, with other, more creative breakfast places, they really need to update their thinking to remain competitive if they wish to continue with this higher than the competition pricing. This was the absolute worst burger I have ever eating in my life. This was a first time visit and definitely my last. I ordered a very simple item burger and fries. I took 3 bites of the burger and that's all I could handle. Something was wrong for sure. The meat / toppings or sauce was spoiled / old andflat out disgusting. I literally paid 21 dollars for a soda and fries at this point. I paid my billed left and got a burger at sonic. You know your lunch is terrible when you have to have a second lunch . This place had a nice line which I take as a good sign and I am a fan of breakfast foods so I had to check it out. We were seated before they said we would be which is a plus- and the menu has all sorts of great items listed including Mimosa's! Yum! Well they were out of the quiche which was my promising vegetarian option and according to the waitress they had been for months! This could have been indicated on the menu if it's been months! That was rather frustrating. So as a vegetarian but not a vegan I asked for simple two eggs scrambled with some veggies and avocado and cheese - a side of potatoes and toast... This was rather disappointing and the food was cool at best. My husband got eggs Benedict- and one egg was so over cooked it didn't even run when cut into! I totally understand with Covid supply chains an issue so not having items on the menu can happen- I also understand that with Covid staff is an issue- so it's possible we had some newer chefs working. For the prices that were charged and the fact that even after we pointed that out to the waitress no discount was applied and offered to make it better this just isn't a place I want to go back to. I can make these items at home and the luxury of going out is to be able to order things you don't cook at home. Maybe in a few months I will give this place a chance at lunch- but brunch is sacred. read more

Stopped in for an early morning breakfast and was greeted with pleasantries, hot coffee & delicious food. Omar delivered to perfection as a server making sure we had exactly what we desired. The veggie egg white omelette was divine, filled with fresh vegetables and topped with goat cheese. It was also served with a side dish of fruit (melon, red grapes & Pineapple to be exact). I ordered a butter croissant unsure how'd it would meet my standards; to my surprise I enjoyed it immensely.
