First time customer & wife and I came in for breakfast. I can't speak for my wife but for myself I started with the mango mimosa which was very tasteful & happy that I got the remaining bottle of champagne so I can pour accordingly to what taste I'd like. The server was attentive & after ordering even asked if we wanted our muffins first or to come out with our entree's. Which I find very pleasing because it allowed me to enjoy the amazing jumbo blueberry muffin that hit 3 of my senses with joy (taste, smell, sight). Sadly though that's where the amazement ended. I ordered the Sunrise/SantaFe omelette w/potatoes and it wasn't as tasteful as I expected. The potatoes could've used some salt/pepper because they tasted kinda bland and the omelette (while looking good) just did not do it for me. It wasn't bland but it wasn't super tasteful either. Came here with my dad who is new the area. Our dinner was great, I had the chicken crepes and a bloody mary. The bread basket was great and totally worth the carbs. we have been here quite a few times, and i keep telling myself to fill out a review, but i don't....and that is sad. the bistro has a nice setting off Polaris Parkway and is easy to get to. the ambiance to the place is made to be like a French bistro, but instead it a twist...which is nice. their chowder is the bomb diggity! every waiter\waitress we have had are extremely nice and helpful. will be coming here more as my mom is retiring and likes this place when she visits. read more

Stopped in after Granddaughters basketball game for a late breakfast. Ordered ok and I got my coffee in a ok time. Food took a while, noticed a couple tables received ahead of us, still ok -they were busy. Problem came about 4-5 minutes after getting our food. My wife's food had a hair in it. Disgusting clearly it had been cooked inside. At that time we flagged a server over and informed him. Got to enjoy him pick up her plate and then set it back down and dig into, yum that was appreciated. Think he was going to imply it was her hair. Had him take her plate away. Probably about 10 minutes passed and a manager came by. He was gracious and apologized, ok- asked if she wanted something else.,No she didn't, and after seeing the dig thru my satisfying took a dive to maybe a 6 out of 10. Manager came and hard to hear and has a accent. Last words I heard were taken care of. He gave us a $10 gift card for future use. We waited another 10 minutes with no one returning to our table. Server didn't return and say sorry you had a issue. Do we thought he, the manager took care of it. I left a tip and we left. Parked in front and started pulling out and my wife sees the server waving us down. Handed the check for my mean and wife's muffin. Told her we thought it was taken care of. She said we could have stopped at the desk on the way out. We actually spent at least 30 minutes after we had the issue. More than enough to resolve. Then she told me how busy they are and that she gets plenty of $20 tips all day. Guess I could have walked into kitchen and informed them. Just kidding. It will be awhile before we even think of returning. If I had received my check inside as quickly as I received it outside I wouldn't be doing this review. Good options on the menu. Decent service. Food REALLY disappointed, other than the muffins. Thin pancakes over cooked for one of the kids. Never a big fan of the kraft mac & cheese being the kids menu option. To top it off, the wife & I each had one of their eggs benedict options & all 4 poached eggs were extremely over cooked without even a hint of a runny center. I don't want to give this place even one star. Don't know if it was racism or just good old ineptitude. My story starts with my arriving at 11:10 for my 11:30 reservation. It was Mother's Day so I figured we wouldn't be seated right on time but the point of a reservation is to not have to wait too long. We were not seated until about 12:10 so an hour wait to start off my experience. Once my party of 10 was seated the wait staff was quick to take our drink and food orders so I thought things were improving. A large party that was there when we arrived left and I started to realize we hadn't gotten our food. We'd been through several drinks and everyone was getting hungry. It is now roughly 1:30. Now what happened next is what made me really realize something was going wrong. Another large party came and sat where the party was sitting when we came in. I looked around and realized that we were the only people in this little area we had been seated that was there an hour ago all new families were sitting. Then the unthinkable...all the NEW people that we'd watch come and be seated started getting food. I asked the wait staff to get me a manager. He gave me some generic really unrealistic reason why we'd now been sitting for 2 and one half hours with no food and people that came in way after we did were eating. He told me that our food would be right up. Another 45 minutes went by before me and my family literally got up and walked out. So as you can see I cannot review the food as we never got any. The service speaks for itself. I will be reaching out to corporate with this issue. I hope it was a one off situation and this isn't the norm but it's what happened to me and my family so I can only tell my story as it happened. read more

Took my wife there for an early Mother's Day Brunch with our kids. The waitress arrived after about five minutes and took our drink order. About ten minutes after that everyone got their drinks, with the exclusion of my wife who did not get her Mimosa, and my daughter who got the wrong drink. Ten minutes after that the waitress came back to take our food order. We once again had to order my wife's Mimosa. Shortly thereafter the waitress brought out my wife's Mimosa. Then she took our food order. My drink sat empty until the waitress ventured by about ten minutes later when I had to ask her for a refill. About 30 minutes after we ordered our food it arrived, awkwardly. My French onion soup was cold. Imagine that, melted cheese over soup and it was cold. My fries were cold and rubbery. It was as though the food had been sitting for quite some time. All of our food was mediocre and the temperature ranged from lukewarm to cold. We would have sent it back had someone come around to ask us how the food was. We asked for the check. Several minutes later the waitress shows up with the check. In one last show of ineptitude the pen had no ink in it. I walked my check across the restaurant to the hostess stand and the hostess snidely told me that I had to pay at my table before giving me the opportunity to ask for a pen that works. I've only eaten at Mimi's twice and both experiences were very different. The first time, my table had great service and the food was good. The second time, the food was good but service was really slow. The server was attentive but the food took forever to be served. Just took the family there for Sunday brunch. The place only had a few tables and didn't seem that busy seated right away. After that everything went wrong it took 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee and at that point we should've realized food was going to be even slower. It took about 55 minutes to receive our food by then we were ready for coffee refills but she never came back also one of the food orders was wrong but waitress was nowhere to be found. We were a group of seven and we were all disappointed in the quality of food the service and lack of good management. Don't waste your time and money. read more

Mimi's Cafe used to be my favorite restaurant years ago. 7 or 8 years ago (before they started closing some locations) they were actually what I would call an upscale French restaurant that had amazing flavorful food with everything cooked perfectly. I had been to multiple locations, even the one out in Anaheim California where they originated. I went to Mimi's Cafe yesterday again to give them another chance. Sadly since they had started closing locations their food has gone down hill. Years ago when you arrived you'd get a variety of breads in a basket within a few moments. Upon arrival yesterday I asked about the bread basket. I was told yes that they still deliver a bread basket. I ordered the quiche and roasted potatoes. My husband ordered a sandwich with fries. 15 or so minutes passed and still no bread. The waitress stopped by and I mentioned the bread. The bread actually didn't arrive until a moment or two before our food arrived which was around a half hour after we were first seated. The bread was 4 small plain white baguette slices (not a variety of different breads like they used to have.) My roasted potatoes were flavorless. No salt or pepper or anything it seemed. The quiche was not cooked thoroughly enough so I sent it back. The quiche was a round quiche, not a single decently sized slice. When my quiche was returned to me it was cooked well enough but the green onions and bacon were not really distributed well throughout the quiche. There was 1/4th of it that had nothing but egg. The crust was actually a bit hard, not light and flaky like the quiches used to have. My husband's sandwich had bacon which was not cooked well enough and very simple basic fries. We ordered two croissants to go and I remember years ago being super impressed with the croissants. They used to be big and puffy. Given the $3.00 per croissant cost, I was expecting to yet again be very impressed... No. They were thin with very little bread fluff in the center. And I'm sorry but what is it with playing the poorly remixed pop songs in the restaurant? I didn't hear one French song during the whole 45 minutes to an hour that I was there. Not really an upscale listening experience in a French themed restaurant. They used to actually play French/Italian music that made for a peaceful experience during dining. read more

Salty and greasy and over sweet....I really feel my blood pressure went high after eating the food there,same for diabetes risk...well..order their crepe with side dish potato and a cup of hot chocolate...hot chocolate with wipe cream on it..sugar ,sugar..can not finish.then main course.. potato....chef must forget to close the lid of salt..salty to hell...crepe with bed layer or cheese...This is one of the worst chains I have tried. Our family chose Mimi's for Easter brunch because they have something for everyone. I got the chicken and waffles and triple berry mimosa. The chicken was ok, not super flavorful. The waffles were good. The mimosa was good but we were surprised that the server charged us for their "regular" mimosa, not their "brunch special" mimosa even though we all ordered food from the brunch menu. My wife and I have a secret that I am about to share with the world. On a Friday or Saturday night when the wait at BJ's right next-door might be 30 minutes to an hour you can go into Mimi's and have a great dinner lovely atmosphere excellent service and sit right down. I split a guacamole chip appetizer & a pineapple upside down muffin. Overall the muffin was good very moist and very sweet and the guac was also tasty. I would go there again but it's not the best food I've ever eaten, then again I didn't get a meal but I would go back again to try something new! Also a little pricey. read more

Not worth the time & money. We have been to 2 locations in the Phoenix area. One in Scottsdale & one in Goodyear. Both times the potatoes were served old & cold as if food cost was the priority, not quality. When we told the server, no apologies were given. They just went back to the kitchen & returned with hot, fresh potatoes. It was like it was an everyday occurrence. Our most recent visit, my toast was served cold, husband's french toast was stale, eggs were too runny even for over easy & son's eggs benedict were too runny. Why send out food like this when you know it will be returned for you to remake correctly? Seems like a waste of time & food cost. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant. read more

I think this is one of those places where atmosphere, decor or ambiance is more important than the food. And there's nothing wrong with that. Ideally both are excellent but here the decoration (which I really liked) rated better than the food (nothing spectacular). We went for breakfast and liked that this place is big - no wait. Beautifully decorated and the french music playing in the background was nice, but on our visit screaming children drowned out the soothing music. I ordered corned beef eggs benedict and my friend ordered some sort of breakfast crepe. Both came with seasoned potatoes. I liked my potatoes which I believe were seasoned with dill, but my friend did not like that taste. He also didn't care too much for the crepe. I tried it...it was okay. My eggs benedict were just that...okay. But between the two of us it was $33 for breakfast - way too much for food we rated as "okay." Our server was terrific but terrific servers can be found at local diners...for half the price. We probably won't be back but if you're looking for okay food in a nicely decorated restaurant, this is for you. read more

We were heading to Bob Evans, but as we were driving past we decided to pop in here instead. We are SO glad we did! Amazing breakfast. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was panko breaded and beautifully cooked, the waffles were perfection. My husband had the corned beef hash Benedict and said it was also very delicious. The interior has the decor of a Parisian street. The staff is friendly and attentive. I sampled the calamari and found it to be fresh and delicious. This is similar to their eggs benedict but substitutes crab cakes for the bacon. Well you didn't have to ask me twice. I went there Monday afternoon about 4:30 after reading reviews on here and elsewhere. This is supposedly owned by the same company that runs Bob Evans and though the food was French themed as the decor, it still seemed like BE's food dressed up for the masses. For $14 bucks I tried their 3 course meal, french onion soup, very good with the proper use of topping it with a rye crouton instead of just toasted rye bread, very nice. For my main course the chicken marsala w/mashed taters (seems to be part of every entree after looking at the menu) and steamed veggies. The marsala sauce was good but didn't have enough of the marsala wine taste in my own opinion. This came with two pounded grilled chicken breasts topped with swiss cheese covered in shrooms and marsala sauce. Dessert was the 3rd course and I choose to have their bread pudding with was awesome with a nice buttery sauce and with a nice amount of whipped creme, very nice. Overall it was a good meal for the price for a chain restaurant and I would come back just to try some of the other items on the menu that looked interesting. One thing I have noticed for a chain you do not see much advertising about this location here in Cbus. read more

This would've been a solid 3 stars had it not been for the service. We went in for a late dinner, almost 9pm. We were seated in the "quiet section" according to the nice hostess. The decor was pretty forced French but it was obvious this was an upscale Bob Evans...nay...Le Bob Evans and the prices reflected this. We perused the menu front and back thoroughly and laid them down before our server E came over, introduced himself and walked away. Our menus were closed, signaling we were ready to get down to business and he didn't even ask for our drink orders. 5 minutes later he comes back and gets our drink orders and zipped off before we could say we were ready to order dinner. He comes back with our drinks and drops off 2 pieces of the carrot bread and 1 sourdough roll and finally takes our order. I get the roasted turkey dinner with cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and veggies which I upcharged $.50 for asparagus. The hubby got the Beef Dip sandwich with cheese, peppers, mushrooms and onions, fries and subbed a side salad for his cole slaw. (Which E did not indicate there would be a charge for) All around us were people flagging him down and getting apologies left and right for one reason or another because he would disappear constantly. The carrot muffins were good but the butter was tasteless and the roll was too. When our entrees finally came we dug in. My mini Thanksgiving dinner was good. Not the best I've ever had but sufficient for Le Bob Evans. A few bites in the hubby said "uh yeah, where are my cheese, onions, peppers and mushrooms?" Nothing. So we had to wait forever for him to wander back our way. He told him and he took it back like he was going to have them add it to his sandwich. 10 minutes later, my dinner is almost cold because I refused to eat alone and have him do the same when he got his. The least the guy could've done was bring his side salad he asked for but no, never got that. He finally brings it back, slaps it on the table and turns his back and says "sorry about that" and I said "yeah, sounds like it." He apologized to the other table for something and then saw I'd put my low tea glass on the tableside. He got the hint and got us refills (the only way we were gonna get them). The food was decent but this guy was ridiculous and everyone who had him was seriously miffed. We get the bill and of course we're charged $2 for the salad he never brought. From the time we noted the error to the time we'd had it corrected and paid to get the hell outta there, it was 15 minutes. We spied him in the corner looking confused that we gave him cash and I was waiting for him to take off his socks to count. We were highly irritated and the first thing I'll think of when I think of Mimi's is this horrible service instead of the decent food. (Should've known better since other reviews have noted crappy service as well. Sigh) read more

Restaurant 1/2 full mid-morning on a Saturday should have offered coffee or at least brought water before 5 minutes passed. I used to eat at Mimi's about every other week. I had pretty bad service about 3x in one year. I came back because I loved their soup and salad. Then about 2 years ago I went there for lunch with my father who can't walk well and uses a walker. The hostess seated us in the very back of the restaurant and then it was like we didn't exist. Our waiter never came and took our order for probably a half hour. People were seated after us and were leaving before we got our food. I decided not to return and until my daughter-in-laws birthday, had not come back. The food is OK, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. That type of experience happened about 3x and I figured 3 strikes and you are out. read more
