This place went downhill from when I was there last a few years ago. Thought I'd stop in for steak n eggs. I was upsold to the ribeye. I don't care what the waitress says it was not a ribeye and the potatoes, I have no idea what those were. Oh and it was close to $30 for the steak n eggs, add 1 Late and 1 OJ and I was at $50.

High prices, small portions and mediocre Luke warm food. They've cracked the recipe for going out of business. The young lady who waited on us was very nice and the place was clean. The parking lot was empty and will likely stay that way until this becomes a Mexican restaurant.

3/15/2024: Took a friend's Father here for a meal; he rarely goes out eating at restaurants anywhere . . . Therefore, I gave the excuse taking him to Mimi's due to failing celebrating his birthday, i.e., a belated birthday celebration. Nevertheless, the Father argued with me explaining he should pay the bill; however, when he went to the restroom, I paid the restaurant bill which utterly infuriated him~lol! Despite the argument we had, the Father thoroughly enjoyed his Mimi's meal!

Delicious food and excellent service. That's why we love Mimi's. Today was a mix of breakfast and lunch. All the food especially the pan Perdue and carrot madeleines were yummy Our server was quick, friendly, and efficient.

Ordered the "huevos rancheros" and all I asked for was no onion. Unfortunately the two tortillas they used for the meal were so stale. Could not chew them but ate everything off of them but couldn't eat the tortilla shell. The little potato cake thing was full of onions. Used to enjoy Mimi's a lot but food quality has gone down substantially.

The food was delicious, the service was terrific, and the location and parking were fantastic. Shout out to Kamila for excellent customer service.

A Great Breakfast Stop After a Hike in Auburn! We came here…read morefor breakfast during the week after a hike in Auburn. We had just finished the Lake Clementine/Dam hike and were very hungry afterward, so we headed into town and ended up at Mario's. First of all, Mario's is a very pretty space. I loved the black-and-white aesthetic and the simple but thoughtful décor. There's bar seating, booths, and tables both inside and outside. Parking is plentiful, so that's definitely not an issue. I started with a regular latte, while my cousin ordered a chai latte. My latte was beautiful and served in a very original, deep, low cup that I absolutely loved. It was delicious and just perfect. Unfortunately, the chai latte wasn't really to our liking. It didn't taste much like chai to us--it had a strong cinnamon flavor and a combination of flavors that made it difficult to tell exactly what we were drinking. So, the chai was definitely not our favorite. For breakfast, I ordered what I would call their breakfast sampler, with eggs, bacon, and hash browns, which also came with a portion of French toast. My cousin ordered their Monte Cristo sandwich. My eggs and hash browns were amazing, and there was plenty of bacon! I chose all bacon, and it was thick-cut, smoky, and cooked to perfection. The plates here are HUGE, and the portions are definitely abundant. My cousin's Monte Cristo was their lighter take on the classic. Instead of being deep-fried, their version is dipped in batter and cooked, which makes it a little less heavy. It looked beautiful and had plenty of ingredients inside, but for us, it was just okay. We've definitely had better Monte Cristo sandwiches. Now, the French toast... WOW. This was easily my favorite part of the meal. The bread had this delicious cinnamon-sugar coating on top that took it to another level. Add the soft, fluffy butter and maple syrup, and it was absolutely superb. That French toast alone would bring me back! I also appreciated the nice, cold ice water that was kept at our table throughout the meal. Service was super nice and pretty quick, especially considering how busy they were. I also loved how many options they give you to customize your meal. I could choose between different types of bacon, sausage, or turkey, and my cousin was able to customize her sandwich and ended up choosing cottage cheese to go with a healthier, higher-protein option. They also have sweet potato fries, regular fries, and plenty of other sides that you can substitute depending on what you're looking for. The ambiance was great, everything was clean and well maintained, and even the bathrooms were in good condition. Overall, this was a very good breakfast experience. Not everything was a home run for us, but the service, atmosphere, generous portions, customization options, and especially that French toast made it a place I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area. And after a hike? Even better!

The only thing is they should have one for bigger parties. We were going to be seated with a chair at the end of the table which would block the walkway. Steak and eggs Loco Moco Pacific Omelette Lox & Bagel Perfect combo Iced Chai Hot chocolate I was so full from my Lox, but I de used to taste the waffle and it was soo good! There's another room on the left side of the cafe but I didn't have a chance to check it out since we left to get lunch at Belly. According to my friend, the room is gorgeous as well; I'll have to check it out next time I visit. They had a lot of scrumptious-looking dessert but they were a little out of my budget. They're beautiful though, and I'd try one for a special occasion (the coffee bean dessert cost $20). The cashier (owner, I'm guessing?) was welcoming and helpful when I said it was my 1st time there and pointed out a list of specials. There was plenty of seating on the shady patio, but it was really hot outside, so we opted to wait for a table inside. We had a drink and watched the NBA finals on the TVs (there was no sound so it wasn't noisy). I tried the Mustang Sally cocktail and it was well balanced and delicious! We were seated for dinner pretty quickly. The only problem I had was deciding what to order. The luau shrimp salad? Meatball sub? I finally decided on the lobster mac and cheese. While the portion wasn't large, it was delicious! Creamy and mild with fresh lobster (not fishy) and garlicy breadcrumbs. My husband got the ribeye and was thin but large with great seasoning and veggies. I'm not a big steak fan but I really liked it. We ended up grabbing some beignets to go for the kids, which were really tasty and came with 3 dipping sauces (our favorite was the Berry, although we ended up eating most of them without sauce). The atmosphere was upscale, but very casual, quiet and fun. We saw families with young children, couples on dates, and friends enjoying a meal together. It was the perfect vibe that we were looking for, comfortable, but classy. And the food was high-quality and tasty. We will definitely be back!

The service was fantastic from start to finish. We had the chance to chat with Julian himself along with a couple other staff members, and everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast wrap had the perfect balance of scrambled eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, avocado, and cheddar cheese. Everything worked together without any one ingredient overpowering the others, and the salsa on the side was a great addition. Honestly, it's one of the best breakfast burritos/wraps I've had. And the croissant... wow. It was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the croissant was light, flaky, and buttery, and every bite was packed with flavor. The Nutella crepe was also very good. The crepe itself was perfectly made, though there was a little more Nutella than I personally prefer. Next time I'll probably ask for less, but that's purely a matter of taste. The avocado toast was the only item that didn't quite hit the mark for me. It was good, but the honey flavor dominated the dish and drowned out some of the other ingredients. I'd love to taste a little more balance there. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality made for a great breakfast. We'll definitely be back, and I'll be dreaming about that croissant until then.

Their staff are so friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant itself is so cozy and charming. I treat myself to this place for breakfast 2-3 times a year, and every time I visit, they seat me quickly and give the best service and consistently great food. I always get and highly suggest Cooter's Country Eggs Benedict. It's Southern biscuits & gravy, but they throw two fried eggs and sausage patties on top of the biscuits before covering it all in gravy and add country fried potatoes on the side. Thankfully, their iced tea is brewed there (none of that awful machine iced tea!), and they serve it in a huge, oversized plastic cup. Best of all, when I was paying my bill, the food server offered to make the tea to go. She got a huge to-go cup and brought it back half-filled with iced tea. I put the rest of what I had in it and was set for the rest of the morning with delicious homemade iced tea! Wonderful service! I've actually been visiting this restaurant since I was a teenager in the early 1980s. My parents used to have breakfast here every Saturday morning. It was still called the Gold Miner Cafè even back then, but different owners, ofc. Everyone in or near Folsom should visit here at least once to see what you're missing! I'm positive you will return when you want a really hearty homemade Southern-style breakfast!

Worse for us since our neighboring table decided to watch something on his phone without headphones... The food looked incredible, but flavor simply wasn't there. The best thing I had was the waffle alone and the gravy. The chicken was dry- obviously fried previously and reheated for the order. The waffle had great flavor and texture. The syrup was thick and of good quality. The Sunnyside up eggs were slightly undercooked with the whites runny which left my 11-year old only having a few bites. The hashbrowns we're not crispy and not well seasoned. My over-easy eggs were cooked perfectly, but the ham steak was also shockingly unseasoned (it wasn't even salty, to my surprise). The biscuit was HUGE and looked incredible but when bitten into immediately turned to mush- it felt like eating dough. If it were cooked just a few minutes longer, it would have been the best thing we ordered. The gravy was the best flavored item. Oh, as well as their homemade raspberry jam. Delicious! In all, I'd recommend very basic foods like the waffles, bacon, and eggs. Everything else was mid and be aware of a super loud, small space.
