Went to meet a friend for lunch and we both decided to have breakfast. They ordered an Omelet and I had 2 Eggs with Bacon. The bill was $38.00. But that is not the worst part. Yep, the Eggs were hot and cooked the way I like them Over Easy but the Bacon was only partially cooked. Ends crispy but center was raw. Don't they know how to cook Bacon? The diced Potatoes were stale and cold. At least the Eggs were hot. For the price, mine was a complete failure or F grade. I was looking forward to a nice visit and eating at Mimi's Bryant Irving location in Fort Worth but I will never return. I ended up only eating the Eggs. The rest was inedible! And anyone could have become sick with raw Bacon. Don't they realize it is Pork. Food poisoning or worse. Geez! Never again! read more

This is our first Thanksgiving away from Hawaii and we didn't have any close family to spend dinner with. So we figured that we eat out and found Mimi's Cafe on yelp by typing in the search bar, "Thanksgiving dinner Restraunt". I called at first but I was put on hold and no one ever answered back. It was odd because when I got there, nobody wanted to admit they put me on hold, even though I showed them my phone as I was still on hold, 13 minutes later. I felt annoyed at the hostess for totally ignoring me when I walked in and waited, but I felt better afterwards when the assistant manager, Jude, assisted me. This used to be a nice restaurant with a long wait but not anymore. The bathrooms are gross (look up and you see a moldy water stain, look down and you see disgusting grout, look to the side and the toilet paper dispenser is coming apart) and I burned my hand on the water in the bathroom (2 days later, photo proof). Just glad it was me and not my 5 year old. Waitress we had was great so that salvaged our experience, waffles were good, muffin excellent, tea was weak. read more

I had forgotten about MiMi's Cafe and decided to stop in for brunch. I had an omelet with bacon, spinach, and Brie cheese. It was a beautiful presentation (which I forgot to take a picture) but I always prefer the ingredients to be on the inside of my omelet. It still was good and the pineapple upside-down muffin was delicious. I had a big glass of orange juice to wash it down which was fresh. The service was good as well. We have always enjoyed this place, especially since they consistently have buy one entree get one free coupons. The all-day breakfast is always good, and I really like the salmon dinner. My wife usually gets one of the crepe dishes. My older kids love going when the pumpkin flavors are in, especially the pumpkin pancakes. My youngest loves the chocolate chip puppy dog pancakes. The down side to Mimi's is always the service. If you're lucky enough to get one of the older women working there, your service is usually pretty good (especially the one who works the bar), but you can pretty much count on some long delay at some point in the service, and they almost always seem to get someone's dish wrong or forget to bring something. We keep going back for the food, but we never go when we are in a hurry or when we don't have the patience for problems. read more

We stood in the entrance lobby with 6 other guests for about 5 minutes. No one was there when we entered. We were taken to the back of the restaurant to a booth. The acoustics were so unbearable with all of the people in there and the insipid, disgusting music that was playing. We ordered from the menu given to us. The hamburger was priced at $10.95. When we got the bill, the price was $16.00. We told the waiter and he said there were increases not reflected on the menu. That's not our fault, we wanted to only pay the $10.95. anyway, we paid what was asked, but very disappointed. The burger was over toasted and hard and the potatoes were tepid. I ordered 1 slice of bread to go with my oatmeal, he brought two out and said he was only charging for one slice since the other piece was obviously burned. The quality of the food has really taken a downhill turn and please don't blame it on covid, lack of employees or the economy. If your doors are open, you should be ready for anything. read more

this place has a nice ambiance. menu has a lot to choose from so it is a bit overwhelming. service was sub par. didn't have enough silverware and we got served our bread and butter after we received our appetizer. first we had the seven meatballs. pretty good sized meatballs in marinara and parmesan. the meatballs were basically little meat loaf balls. nothing wrong with that if you like meat loaf. next to the chicken tillamook cheddar mac. good amounts of chicken mixed in with the penne pasta. bacon pieces were nice but over powered the whole dish. it basically tasted like pasta and bacon. the chicken pot pie is bigger than I expected. display was great and it was hot and steamy. crust was nice and crispy but the internals were too salty. nothing much to say about this dish as it is like most chicken pot pies and nothing caught my attention. lastly, steak frites smelled incredible. fries were on point and reminded me of steak and shake fries. ordered medium cooked steak and came out with just enough red in three middle. the seasoning was too much and the taste of garlic and butter overwhelmed the flavor of the steak. overall, this place is a nice place to try as the menu is large. I personally would still go to ol south instead for comfort food. might return if in the area to try another entree. read more

I had no expectations for Mimis Cafe. This place is very...bland. I should have known when my friend suggested going because his grandmother's swim club loves it. The food reminds of Luby's or some other chain cafeteria. It has just enough flavor to let your taste buds know you're eating food and not cardboard. Other than that, there's nothing remarkable here. It's traditional, home cooking style food but other places do it much better. I've always had nice servers here though. read more

We went there this morning for breakfast. We have eaten there a few times over the last few years. Personally, I think the place is on the way out. First, let me say the last two times we have eaten there, there were roaches on the dining tables/area! The time before one was looking me in the eye (thankfully not from my plate) and this time, the people sitting next to us had one! On that note, the food. We used to get a muffin with our breakfast entree, not any more. I ordered the Country Breakfast with Corned Beef Hash. They no longer use the good red skin potatoes and it appears they cut their portions down a bit, especially on the corned beef hash. The food was okay. I ordered eggs cooked medium. Normally when I order this in a restaurant, they serve them over easy. These were cooked to perfection. My wife's eggs (eggs benedict) were nicely cooked as well, but the hollandaise needed some work. Hers also came with the potatoes and like mine, not the good red skin potatoes they used. The service this time around was good. Other times we have been there, it has really run the gauntlet from good to very bad. OVERALL - I really can't get over roaches not only in the dining room, but on or near the dining room tables. I can see where the cooks try and put out a good product, but between the menu changes, the portions, and bland potatoes, I would have a difficult time going back. Two stars, no more, because they did cook the eggs correctly and I think the cooks are trying. read more

Met some girls here for an early dinner on a Friday night. As other reviews have mentioned, the staff were really accommodating and prompt with coming over and getting drinks and making sure our food was ok and we had enough of everything. The menu looks ok, there seems to be a broad range of everything. As I wasn't overly hungry I ordered the meat balls, with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. They were tasty, but the meat wasn't great, it was quite fatty in comparison to other meatballs I have tried or even ground beef I have tried in other places. They filled a gap I guess. The place did have an air of loneliness to it, for a Friday night the place was empty, maybe three other tables occupied. The interior reminds me of an old county style house in the UK, so it's different to other places here. I would be interested in going back from their breakfasts, but I'll be skipping their dinner. read more

I don't typically like to review chain restaurants but this place is the exception. The portions and quality fare you get here are the ultimate value. The artichoke dip is among the best I have had and is served with fresh french baquette. My favorite though is the carrot raisin bread they bring you with whipped honey butter. I have to remind myself to not make moaning sounds upon consumption (my husband thinks this is embarrassing). I like to buy a little loaf to take home with me. The entrees are very diverse from a very tasty thai chicken wrap with peanut sauce to a HUGE portion of meatloaf, to the best corn chower around (or so my MIL tells me). Great sandwiches, I had a turkey pesto one on ciabatta last time. Most entrees come with the option of soup or huge pieces of fresh fruit (my choice). What? no french fry option you ask? Yes, they offer a zero gram trans fat french fry but the FRUIT is better for you. They have several coffee options and many breakfast selections available. You will most likely not have any room for dessert, the portions are HUGE. Definitely give this place a try. It is a chain (only about 100 locations nationwide) but the food is amazing with a new orleans, french bistroish atmosphere that borders on kitschy by is still fun none the less. read more

My son thought it looked like dog food from a can, it was horrible!! It literally was a plate full of gravy and they actually served it, if they were running out of food they should have said to order something different. I hate it when restaurants just want your money and care less about what your getting! The service is horrible and the food was just as bad. I'll never go back to that location! Came here for breakfast with some friends. Heard decent things about it. Perhaps i ordered the wrong thing. Had the eggs florentine, which was nothing special for almost $10. Some of the people on my table, however, liked what they had--specifically the muffins/pastry-related items. Maybe i should've had that. I did appreciate our server Karen, though. She was really attentive to us and refilled my coffee throughout. She also memorized our entire order, and there were seven of us. This is a home-cooking type of place that has FABULOUS comfort food. They serve the BEST breads (blueberry muffins, cornbread) with their meals and the portions are pretty large on most of the meals we ordered. More of a family type of environment with a lot going on. Came here for dinner on 3/5/12 and just now finishing this review... Quite the interesting place, the food was average but the crowd was definitely entertaining. From the time I entered the establishment I saw a couple show up and leave without ordering but after getting some bread & drinks(probably there for free food or couldn't afford to eat here), another 2 ladies came in with a little girl who sat in a huge chair who decided she didn't like the macaroni & cheese on her spoon so she hit her spoon against the high chair spraying a spoonful of Mac & Cheese while the mother/adults said nothing. As far as my food options I got the Meditterean salad with chicken & added a french onion soup with a glass of Chardonnay, tax/tip it was still a whopping $23 dinner. read more
