The Farmhouse Breakfast Tacos are the perfect balance of fresh, savory, and spicy and I like to pair them with something sweet. This time I got the Fall Griddle Cake Sampler, which had a cinnamon roll flavor, berries and cream flavor, and a tiramisu flavor. Honestly, all 3 mostly came through as "pancake+icing" more than anything else (especially tiramisu -- didn't get much espresso flavor from that), but I'm not upset about it. They were delicious. My favorite sweet dish is a cinnamon roll french toast I had several visits ago (crunchy, soft, sweet, cinnamon). The mimosas taste pretty good and come with a small bottle of champagne that can't entirely be poured into the glass the first time, so you can top it off. They're always super busy, so service can be hit or miss depending on who you get. Across the board they're fairly attentive though, and always friendly. If you come on a day with temperate enough weather, the outdoor seating is really nice and is a nice change from the louder atmosphere inside. read more

I've been to Mimi's a handful of times and I can say not once have I been displeased with a visit. I took a trip here for Mother's Day as it was my first visit in a long time. They had their holiday menu which was a 3 course for $36 per person. Granted it was a holiday menu so the options were limited , but still enjoyable. With a packed house there were some service delays, but nothing problematic or anything to serious to me. My starter was a French onion soup and this was enjoyable considering it was my time trying it. My entree was the chicken parm, which was a good serving and enjoyable as well. Desert ended with the tiramisu now this was so sweet and just a good treat to have. Even in a packed house Mimi's somehow doesn't ever feel loud. Very pleased with Mimi's but I wish I was able to see the entire menu. Even though I wasn't Mimi's is still worth visiting for a good brunch time treat. read more

We are here for Mother's Day dinner. We made reservations. The only menu choice was a $36 three course meal with limited options. We were sat at a dirty table. We had to stop a bus boy and ask him to clean it. We ordered two of the soups. The soup was cool. They had no linen napkins and silverware ready. We were given plasticware in cellophane wrap. Our entrees came. The food was mediocre at best. Nothing was really fresh and hot. I ordered the turkey and dressing. The turkey was like thin deli slices I buy at the grocer for sandwiches. It was not tasty and not hot. When it was time to get our dessert- they were out of two of the three choices. When our desert finally came- it did not have the strawberry or ice cream- they were out. We asked for the manager. The manager did not come speak to us but told our server to take a percentage off the bill. The price was ridiculous for what we were served. The meal cost more than a nicer meal at our favorite restaurant. We will not return. We don't mind paying for good food, but nothing we were served was good. read more

I took a couple of drinks-that is all I could handle. Way too bitter- I ordered the avocado toast with smoked salmon. I got smoked salmon on white toast. Guys! This place was absolutely delicious! Besides the warm lights creating a beautiful ambiance and atmosphere, the food was absolutely impeccable. At first, I was disappointed that the Tomato Basil Soup did not come with a bread or croutons, but after that first taste, I quickly realized it didn't have to be paired with a side. That's how good it was! I'm definitely getting the bowl next time. The Caesar Salad had the perfect amount of dressing, the lettuce was still crispy and not soggy, and I'm pretty sure the croutons were made in house. The steak was a PERFECT medium-rare, the eggs were scrambled perfectly, and the potatoes were roasted to perfection. I'm not a sweets person, but the Apple Crisp Crumble was delicious. Not too sweet and the caramel was nice touch. Our waiter was so sweet and checked in on us several times during our brunch to make sure we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves. I had not been to Mimi's in many years until recently. My daughter and I dropped in Saturday morning for breakfast before shopping. Service was quick and the menu expansive. It took us a few extra minutes to decide what to eat. We decided to share an omelet bc most omelets are huge and it came with potatoes and a muffin. We added an extra muffin so we didn't have to share that! We chose the bacon and avocado omelet and banana chocolate chip muffins. The omelet was smaller than we expected but because of the potatoes and muffin we didn't need more. Both were very tasty. We didn't love the potatoes but they were filling. The restaurant is large and has plenty of seating. They seemed well staffed. I do think it's pricey but where isn't these days? We will definitely keep it on our list of breakfast places. read more

First time here. We had a delightful lunch here. Our server was great, he answered my questions quickly and confidently. A+. Roasted turkey plate (Thanksgiving Dinner) was good, the stuffing not quite as moist as he likes. The crème brûlée was the star of the show for my husband. That is his favorite dessert and he felt they did a very good job. I have the mushroom brie burger with au gratin potatoes, and a side salad Kitsch perfectly great blend of flavors yummy delicious! Since this was our first time, our waiter Gave us a blueberry muffin to take home with us that's great Customer Service. My only complaint is that it's very noisy here, very busy, so intimate conversations may not take place very often here. I reserved a table in advance through their website just in case. My visit was during the afternoon on a Sunday. Sunday breakfast/brunch has historically been busy. My table was available when I arrived. We had the most pleasant waiter. He was funny, knowledgeable and attentive. They have a nice size menu that I believe will cater to different appetites. I ordered the quiche Lorraine with a side salad/house dressing. My daughter ordered the French toast/eggs and sausage. The food arrived timely. The quiche is a nice size. You will definitely get full. It was delightful. Nice fluffy eggs in a nice flavorful crust. The ingredients tasted fresh. My daughter loved her French toast. She was so full from the toast that she didn't eat her eggs. Her sausages were tiny. I would expect the nice full size sausages at this price point. It was VERY disappointing that they only offered their "special holiday" menu. I understand that they want to simplify execution on one of the busier days - BUT - I am highly offended that they took that opportunity to gouge the customer. The fixed menu was $36 per person for soup or salad, entree, and dessert. The entrees were very limited (pot roast that was NASTY, pasta sauce had zero flavor, salmon was small portion but tasted ok). And to top things off, they ran out of 2 of the 3 desserts that they offered so you HAD to order the only dessert left. Service was ok, nothing great (again, for Mother's Day, it was NOT very busy). My friend and I stopped after shopping in Greensboro. We had eaten there many times before and the food was good, but this time was different. We both ordered Quiche, hers was okay, mine was dry and inedible. The waitress brought me another and it was just okay, but not like previous visits. We both ordered a muffin that brought out after we ate, so we asked for them to go. I tasted a piece off of mine before we left, and it was stale and the topping was hard. When I got home I heated half of it in the microwave which improved the taste, but it still wasn't like the to die for muffins I used to get there. Went here for their Valentine's menu and it was really cute. I love their different rooms. The service was stellar. They took us for our reservation right on time, our server Grace was top notch. I love that they pre-bus their tables but are not pushy at all. Their little bald bus guy was also so good at his job. As someone who was a previous server in a past life I can tell you him and Grace are top assets to this establishment. The manager was also making rounds to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. I'd also like to add the previous review had me tickled to see this place for myself. I'm not sure who goes out to eat and is focused on the tvs, but it's 100% not me. We will definitely be back. The braised short rib and corn chowder were delicious and enough for me to have lunch today also. Today my family and I went to Mimi's Cafe in Friendly Center. Unfortunately it wasn't our normal amazing experience. We were seated in a nice comfy booth in the back of the dining room and excited to try your new menu items. However our server Aeda was less than pleasant. It seemed as if we were bothering her when we asked for things like extra napkins and drink refills or asked questions about the menu. Looking around at the other tables she was waiting on she seemed to have no issue. They seemed to get refills and service while my family and I waited. I'm not sure if this was because my husband and children are African American and her other tables were white or if she just wasn't interested in our table because we had children with us. Either way today was very disappointing and if having a mixed race family is an issue at Mimi's we will not be back. read more

I have worked in restaurants. Its how management deals with a customer complaint that determines whether an experience is good or bad.
