The table - French toast, steak and eggs, potatoes and eggs and bacon
    Laura M.

Make a reservation! We ate breakfast and it was good, but did not like the flavor of the pepper and onions in the potatoes and I love pepper and onions so that was a surprise. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was busy and noisy and lots of hustle and bustle.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had great service but the atmosphere was leaning more towards the Waffle House than French Cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I can't write a book about how good their food is! I truly enjoy breakfast here ! Mimosas are awesome and pancakes so fluffy. Service was great as well , water was brought to the table and they made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Can never go wrong with coming to mimis for some good food ! Also heard there lunch and dinner is good to can't wait to try!

Came here for a Saturday afternoon brunch date and was thoroughly impressed. Despite the weekend rush, the wait was only about 20 minutes. We ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast, and it was the star of the show; perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. The sides didn't play second fiddle, either; the bacon was crispy and the potatoes were seasoned better than your average breakfast spot. Also, do yourself a favor and get the mimosa pitcher;it's a great value and perfect for a long brunch. The staff was attentive and kept everything moving smoothly. Definitely recommending this spot!

I visited Mimi's Café in Greensboro for a lunch date with a friend, it was her first time trying the restaurant, and overall, we had a decent experience. The portions were definitely generous. I ordered the Triple Lunch with a half sandwich (Chicken Cabetta), a cup of soup (French Onion), and French fries -- definitely more food than I expected! My friend got the half chicken with a baked potato and green beans, and her meal was also hearty and was large enough for leftovers. We did end up adding pepper to our potatoes to give them a bit more flavor, but everything was enjoyable. I thought we would get a basket of bread since that's something I remembered from past visits, so I was a little surprised when it didn't show up. Maybe that's changed? The service was okay -- a little slow at times but still steady and friendly. The décor is charming with a New Orleans-inspired style that gives the place a cozy feel. I also spotted the Dubai pancakes on the menu and all day breakfast. I want to come back. A solid place for a filling lunch. A pleasant experience.

I came for the French toast. It was just okay. I like my bread thicker. It (the syrup I guess) could have been sweeter. It came with your choice of 2 eggs and protein. I asked for over medium but received scrambled. The server was aware and brought me the correct eggs. It wasn't very busy when we went but we waited longer than expected. For the cost($15.69) and quality I likely wont be back.

I went to a seminar at this restaurant. I usually ordered breakfast but I decided to order the pot roast. It was the best pot roast I ever had. The meat was tender and had a wine gravy sauce that was so scrumptious!!!

Farmhouse Breakfast Tacos, French Dip Sandwich, Fall Griddlecake Sampler
    Emily C.

I love Mimi's! It was first recommended to me by a coworker after I admitted I had never had brunch at a restaurant. The Farmhouse Breakfast Tacos are the perfect balance of fresh, savory, and spicy and I like to pair them with something sweet. This time I got the Fall Griddle Cake Sampler, which had a cinnamon roll flavor, berries and cream flavor, and a tiramisu flavor. Honestly, all 3 mostly came through as "pancake+icing" more than anything else (especially tiramisu -- didn't get much espresso flavor from that), but I'm not upset about it. They were delicious. My favorite sweet dish is a cinnamon roll french toast I had several visits ago (crunchy, soft, sweet, cinnamon). The mimosas taste pretty good and come with a small bottle of champagne that can't entirely be poured into the glass the first time, so you can top it off. They're always super busy, so service can be hit or miss depending on who you get. Across the board they're fairly attentive though, and always friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you come on a day with temperate enough weather, the outdoor seating is really nice and is a nice change from the louder atmosphere inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I got an omelette that came with toast. It was just okay. The potatoes tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp- not fresh. The coffee was not very especially for $4. It wasn't worth it for me to return.

Tried Mimi's Cafe recently and overall it was a decent experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was really cozy and the staff was friendly[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], but the food was a little hit or miss for me. Some items were really good while others were just okay and not as flavorful as I expected. Portions were nice though, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]it's still a cute spot for brunch or coffee with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The menu looked promising and they are definitely incorporating some trendy ingredients and items, like birria and Dubai chocolate. I opted for a Bacon Avocado omelette, which was just fine. What concerned me was the fact that my daughter, who ate the birria and commented it seemed off and the broth was horrible, was sick after eating here. The price was not on par with the food we received. Additionally, offer of free muffins for following them on IG was not honored and other stipulations were added. Overpriced, outdated, eat at your own risk.

Guys! This place was absolutely delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Besides the warm lights creating a beautiful ambiance and atmosphere, the food was absolutely impeccable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At first, I was disappointed that the Tomato Basil Soup did not come with a bread or croutons, but after that first taste, I quickly realized it didn't have to be paired with a side. That's how good it was! I'm definitely getting the bowl next time. The Caesar Salad had the perfect amount of dressing, the lettuce was still crispy and not soggy, and I'm pretty sure the croutons were made in house. The steak was a PERFECT medium-rare, the eggs were scrambled perfectly, and the potatoes were roasted to perfection. I'm not a sweets person, but the Apple Crisp Crumble was delicious. Not too sweet and the caramel was nice touch. Our waiter was so sweet and checked in on us several times during our brunch to make sure we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves. We didn't have to wave him down or ask for a refill once! I will definitely return and recommend to others! Consider me a fan!

    Avocado and bacon omelet
    Gina D.

I had not been to Mimi's in many years until recently. My daughter and I dropped in Saturday morning for breakfast before shopping. Service was quick and the menu expansive. It took us a few extra minutes to decide what to eat. We decided to share an omelet bc most omelets are huge and it came with potatoes and a muffin. We added an extra muffin so we didn't have to share that! We chose the bacon and avocado omelet and banana chocolate chip muffins. The omelet was smaller than we expected but because of the potatoes and muffin we didn't need more. Both were very tasty. We didn't love the potatoes but they were filling. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is large and has plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They seemed well staffed. I do think it's pricey but where isn't these days? We will definitely keep it on our list of breakfast places.

We then watched another party who came in after us get seated in better booths and served right away. We were placed in the worst seats right by the check-in area, while those tables were greeted, given menus, and served immediately. We hadn't even been acknowledged properly. The difference in how guests were handled was obvious and hard to ignore. Whether it was poor management or something else, it didn't feel right. We chose to leave and went to The Cheesecake Factory nearby, where the service was respectful and consistent from the start. This needs to be addressed. No one should be treated differently walking into a restaurant.

While these were good, I think I would have liked these a little more if there were more rolls in the order, but less filling in each of them, as these were almost too much filling for each roll as it kept falling out while eating. The flavor however was phenomenal and I would still recommend them! For the main, I got the Bites and Pints Melt with a side of bacon cheese fries. The melt was cooked perfectly and loved the addition of the special sauce on top. The burger to Texas toast ratio was spot on as well. 10/10 would get again. The bacon cheese fries were delicious as well, crispy fries smothered in beer cheese and bacon, what more can you ask for?! A phenomenal meal was had this time around and cannot wait to stop back by for another!

I decided to stop by Bites & Pints Gastropub on Spring Garden St. in Greensboro. As always, I was greeted as soon as I walked in, handed a menu, and asked what I'd like to drink. That goes a long way with me because a lot of places around here will have you standing there for 2-5 minutes before asking if you're drinking or eating. Sometimes I wonder if that's a rhetorical question, but that's neither here nor there. Anywhoo--I grabbed my usual seat at the bar and asked for a water and a pineapple cider. It came in a can, but they always served it with a cold glass, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, they no longer carry it (and I forgot the brand name--sorry ), so I figured I'd switch to a Blue Moon. Another blow... they don't carry Blue Moon anymore either. CURSES!! The manager explained they stopped carrying it because it wasn't selling well, so I settled for my trusty Stella Artois and took a look at the menu. To my surprise, they'd updated it! They kept a lot of the favorites while adding some new items. I started with the Firecracker Shrimp, and it was a great choice. The presentation was on point, and although I'm not the biggest fan of Sriracha, it worked really well here. The crispy shrimp paired perfectly with the slaw and spring mix underneath. For my entrée, I went with the Steel City Philly Cheesesteak with fries, and all I can say is... that was a good sammich. My only critique is the bread. I'm a stickler for toasted bread, especially on a sandwich loaded with grilled peppers, mayo, and, let's be honest, a little grease. The top bun was just a tad too toasted, while the bottom bun softened up pretty quickly. Even so, the sandwich was flavorful enough that I didn't mind too much. Unfortunately, I filled up faster than expected, but everything I ate was definitely worth it. The service matched the quality of the food. I was checked on regularly without feeling hovered over, and I had great rapport with my server. It was refreshing to be somewhere that actually gives a damn and makes you feel like you're getting your money's worth. This is one of those gastropubs that's comfortable, low-key, and just an all-around vibe. Highly recommend checking this place out, and when you do, ask for Ethan--tell him Mya the photographer sent you! Welp, that's all I got, folks. Hope you enjoyed the review.
