I have been frequenting Mimi's Cafe in Whittier for many years. Last night was the first time that I have purchased alcohol from their bar. I was shocked that the price for 2 glasses of wine was almost $35. That is more than any item on their menu. I recently purchased the same wine at Costco and for $35 I got 5+ bottles. Ounce for ounce, Mimi's had marked it up about 25x. To me that is unacceptable. I know that restaurants need to mark up the purchase price but their mark-up was ridiculous and unacceptable. Especially when a chain restaurant more than likely gets volume pricing on wine and spirits. Unfortunately, I feel I was rooked and will not be going to Mimi's Cafe anymore. There is too much competition in the restaurant industry to have to deal with price gouging. read more

We've been coming here for a couple years and the food is always delicious and the staff is so wonderful. It's my children's favorite family restaurant to go to. We've been for all meals, but breakfast is our favorite. They always have a standard menu, but I really enjoy their seasonal menus that they have. It's always fun to get to mix it up with the seasons. My only complaint is that I'm always bummed when the season changes and I can't get whatever my seasonal favorite was anymore! We almost always have the same server, Lorraina, who my children absolutely adore. We went to Marie Callender's recently and even though my son really liked their food, he wanted to go back to Mimi's specifically because he said he liked Lorraina much more. It was so sweet! The our server was really sweet and accommodating. And we had enjoyed our visit at this location. We ordered the two 3 course meals Caesar salad 4.9 out of 5 A standard and delicious salad. The dressing was very good. I will say, some romaine lettuces were old and wilted. Corn chowder soup 4.6 out of 5 It was good. I enjoyed it. Although, alittle too much corn. French Pot Roast 4.8 out of 5 The meat was excellent. It was tender and cooked well. The sauce for the roast was soo delicious. The veggies needs work though. The carrot wasn't fully cooked, so it was soft on the outer and crunchy in the center. Overall, I would get it again Slow-Roast turkey 4.5 out of 5 The turkey was actually very moist and tender. The gravy was a bit thick and clumpy, like it wasn't fully heated. The stuffing was very delicious. It paired very well with the turkey. I ordered mash potatoes (as a side) and it was standard, no complaints. I also got the green beans and it was soooooo PLAIN. I had to use the butter from the bread and salt to season it up. Creme brûlée 10 out of 5 It was probably our favorite part of the meal! The texture and the taste was pretty much perfection! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Terrible service. I just left the location off Whittier Blvd. I waited and waited to be seated but no one attended me. Two staff members see me standing there yet they decide to just ignore me. Pathetic behavior so unprofessional and rude. The funny part is, the damn place was virtually void of diners so they were not busy at all. No loss, since there are plenty if other dining options to choose from. read more

Went to mimi's Café after a long day at work... on a Wednesday night there was about 6 to 7 tables occupied. And there was only one manager and one server attending everybody.... We waited about 10 minutes to get seated. And once we were seated, it took them about another 20 to 30 minutes to come and get our drinks... there were families sitting around us, and I overheard them say that they had been waiting for their food for over an hour. It's a shame because the food is good when or if it ever gets to you... but the service here is really bad it is also worth noting that this is not the first time this happens. My fiancé and I ended up walking out... and I'm sad to say that we won't be returning. The owners need to have more staff working there. I don't think it's right for people to be waiting for over 30 minutes just to get their drinks and they're ordering for food and for other people to be waiting over an hour and still not have their food... avoid at all costs read more

Mimis always brings me back to my childhood(: they shut the one in Cerritos down and I was so excited to see my favorite server, Vanessa there! She is the sweetest and most attentive server! I dined in for breakfast and got my favorite sante fe omelette with some modifications which Vanessa was happy to do so I'm so grateful for that! Now, if you ask for bread they bring cold, toasted baguette slices. The food was below average, except for the soups. Service was ok, but too busy to check on customers needs or wants through dinner. Had a nice brunch here with my husband. Food was just as wonderful as I remembered. Excellent service too! Lots of great choices to order. House maid muffins are a must ( especially the blueberry ). The tall glass of orange juice was a surprise... I thought the kitchen staff was exceptional. Our food was perfectly done. My husband had fish and chips which was beautifully golden fried. My quiche was very good too. The side breakfast potatoes were the best I ever had! It was slightly crispy on the outside with a flavorful seasoning mix ( reminded me of Lawrys salt seasoning). It's been a while since I've dined at Mimi's and when my mother-in-law picked Mimi's for her birthday breakfast I was so excited. And you sure didn't disappoint. As soon as we entered we were greeted by sweet Sergio. He was actually our server and was the best. I have two little toddlers and he was kind enough to put in the kids order right away meanwhile we could enjoy the best warm crumbly blueberry muffin with our coffee. Sergio was awesome to be super careful when bringing my kids sausage as the plates were incredibly hot. Which as a mother appreciates that so much as I'm trying to get them settled to eat. That was great looking out, Sergio. The food, the flavors and coffee were just as I remembered. Delicious. I ordered my fave eggs Benedict classic and the crunchy breakfast potatoes were cooked perfectly. I'm so glad Sergio asked if we wanted potatoes with peppers and onions which was even tastier. My husband ordered the Salmon eggs Benedict which he said were fantastic because he didn't even share ;) My in-laws ordered eggs Benedict also which was their first time trying this plate and couldn't stop saying how delicious and perfect the portions were. These times it's hard to go out and eat but I'm glad Mimi's you stayed consistent and haven't changed menu. Food and Service A+. Coffee A++. With the prices of today you would think establishments like Mimis would care about the quality of food that leave the kitchen. I assume mimis would offers service above the rest. Not true!... I ordered crepes alacart with berries as i mentioned to the waitress i wasnt that hungry and didnt want the eggs and bacon, so she offer3d alacart (did not mention price). The 2 crepes were like packaged and over cooked (dry and crispy) with fruit drizzled on top. The crepes were empty rolled up like taquitos. I was charged 15.99 plus coffee $22 for an experience? I was a sport and didn't return and ate it (best part was the berries). I called over the manager and he said that is the price and nothing he could do but speak w the kitchen. (Not even a I'm so sorry, May I get u something else or maybe help w the bill) it's okay. They lost a customer. I will.not be coming back, for that reason and neither will either one of my friends who joined me. I will always suggest any other place that Mimis!!! Like Crepes n Grapes or even IHOP! No pics.
