I'm going 5 stars here...not because they're outdoing Danny Meyer...but because my expectations were exceeded. I frequent this place about once a month. Diner Burger, Rachel, Tuna salad on toast... you get the idea. I was pleasantly surprised when today's special was the Cuban sandwich. It was filled with ham, roast pork, pickles, mayo and mustard served on a picture perfect grilled panini. It was paired with nicely seasoned fries and the starter was a cup of house made corn chowder. Mimi's has been stepping out of their comfort zone...or should I say stepping up. That Cuban special for $8.99 was a bargain...and would cost nearly twice that elsewhere. If you haven't been to Mimi's in a while, you owe to yourself to check it out. You won't be disappointed. Mimi's is a cozy diner with friendly staff. What's great about Mimi's is their breakfast; which is served all day. The lunch and dinner items are good but I think breakfast is the star. Just a heads up they do make omelets even though they aren't listed on the menu. It's usually busy but there's ample parking and seating. Even when it's busy the food still arrives to the table quickly. read more

Mimi's Drive Inn is a cozy little diner in Fulton, NY. I think the place seems to get a lot of traffic on Sundays for brunch. I went this past Sunday and enjoyed their breakfast special. We were a group of 5 and were seated within minutes despite the place being packed. The breakfast special was extremely affordable and the staff was friendly and attentive. I miss this diner, I have gone here multiple times and the food is damn good each time I've gone here. the servers are always busy and have a lot of tables to take care of, they turn tables pretty quick. sometimes the servers really suck and take forever to get you what you want or come back to you, but there are ones that are actually really amazing and damn good at their job. its pretty cheap as well, very good prices for good size amount of food. read more

This is one of Fulton's best and oldest diners. The waitstaff is always friendly and attentive and the food, while basic, is good and plentiful. My most recent visit had two minor glitches: fake butter and congealed gravy on the fries. Other than that, Mimi's didn't disappoint. You are allowed to seat yourself when it's not busy. That's part of the charm: you can place yourself as close to or far from any other party you want! read more

Looks tiny from the outside but much larger inside which is good because the place is packed. You seat yourself and our waitress was a wonderfully friendly woman who reminded me of an over nurturing mother. Very attentive to everyone and made sure you got everything you need. The GREATEST DEAL in the County... Fast, good food. Not anything more or less. Hot Roast beef sandwich with gravy on my fries ...then later I'll have to exercise! We have been coming to Mimi's for years. Love the home cooked food...it's what we call "real food".

Standard diner fare, decent breakfast options and always pretty packed. This place is visited by locals and is set far enough away from Oswego State that you don't really get an influx of college kids. There is often a wait especially if you have a large party, but the servers mean business and tend to flip tables pretty quickly. The waitresses don't take time to catch up and see how your day is going, they want to know what you want to eat so they can ring it in and move on to the next table. Their coffee is good. Typical breakfast options, build your own omelette, come with big portion of home fries and toast. Their pancakes are big and fluffy. The best thing about this place is that it is dirt freakin cheap. Seriously, pancakes are around $3 unless you want bacon then it's around $5, eggs with bacon and toast is about $4, bagel with cream cheese is $1.50, I mean these prices are unbeatable really. They have a bunch of sandwich options for under $5 and they also offer a kids menu. Take out available too. read more

The cinnamon raisin French toast was INCREDIBLE! Thick, perfectly cooked and with just the right mix of raisins and secret cinnamon pockets. The bacon, requested crispy, was actually crispy. The home fries were buttery and soft rather than the traditional, slightly crunchy style, so I didn't love them but that's personal preference. The hash was good, if a bit on the salty side. The oj was fresh squeezed. The coffee was good. It was a busy Sunday morning but service was friendly and efficient. It was a clean, pleasant environment. I've only been to this spot once and was terrified to go inside. It looks old! However, I quickly learned that is what makes this place special. They have great, local service and excellent breakfast for a value I hadn't seen in years. First, I will start by saying I will never purchase food from your establishment again. We ordered 5 fish dinners 2 fish sandwiches and 2 chicken tenders dinner. Over 100 dollars worth of food. My husband picked it up, took the three bags the hostess had sat on the counter for him to take. He drives back to Palermo to find out we were shorted 3 of the fish dinners. I call, and talk to the hostess who says, "well, we do not have any sitting here but we can refund the money or you can pick up 3 new fresh fish dinners".  He drives back to Mimi's to get the meals. The cook yells at him through the kitchen window that the meals were there to which my husband replies "I took the three bags on the counter that the hostess told me were mine". And the cooks response is Well Merry fu*king Christmas". I call and ask to talk to the manager, who tells me he is also the son of the owner, and tell him what happened and he hung up on me. Which leads me to think he is also the cook because I can't imagine there are more than one person in the establishment that rude. He gets home and the fish are all burnt and because of the treatment, we do not eat them because of concerns as to what they could have done to it. He took all the bags the hostess gave him but yet somehow he is blaming us. I have never witness or heard of worse treatment by a business owner. read more

Great place. The ladies that work there are wonderful. They are all so polite and friendly. They make everyone feel like they ACTUALLY APPRECIATE your business, which is very rare nowadays. The local customers are a good crowd too. You never fell like you're out of place there. It's just a terrific atmosphere. As if that wasn't enough, the homemade cinnamon raisin bread french toast is the greatest thing in the world. Hot, melted, gooey cinnamon and real maple syrup. Magnificent. We are from Washington State and we eat here sometimes while visiting relatives. The food is always very good and the prices very reasonable. I decided to write a review today because of the amazing service. Our waitress, Kelli, was super sweet from the beginning, but about ten minutes into breakfast, my six-year-old send my Diet Pepsi sailing onto the floor. Kelli saw how embarrassed she was, and immediately began consoling her. She even let my daughter go with her to get a new drink for me. The young man who cleaned up was all smiles and graciousness, as well. About five minutes later, my little girl did the exact same thing again! She was so embarrassed that she was crying, but again Kelli and the same man cleaned up and said all the right things... I can't tell you how much we appreciated this! read more

This is the third time I've been to this establishment and will not go there again. The first time was for breakfast in which I thought it wasn't that bad. The next two times which were both dinner times, I must say the food is beyond disappointing. I guess I do understand why people flock to this place though, because there's no other good food available in the area. The food leaves alot to be desired, and waitresses, well beyond rude. I went to pay my check at the counter, the girl at the counter snatched my check, without saying one word, she acted like I was interrupting her and didn't even say hello thank you or anything. It appears that if you are a regular here, you get treated very well and are warmly welcomed. We walked in the door and not one person said anything. They looked at us and went on with their business. The server we had seemed more concerned about her regulars than she did about us. We placed our order with her and instead of going to put the order in, she watched one of her regulars walk in the door and made sure his coffee was waiting for him. After she greeted and seated him, she proceeded to carry on a roughly 5-7 minute conversation with him. When the time came for her to go pick up one of her orders, it wasn't ours. Shockingly enough it was his order. Ours came out a couple minutes later. I suppose it is possible that his was cooked ahead of ours by the cooks. I only find that hard to believe due to the fact that just about the entire time he was there, she stood there talking to him and carrying on. Pancakes came out and she set them down and walked away before we realized there was no syrup. We had to wait for her to be done talking to him again before we could ask for some to be brought over. I've eaten at many diners and love the atmosphere. It's nice having that home feel when you walk in the door. Today at this diner I felt like an alien. I'm glad many others get to enjoy the close to home feel of this place. Maybe if I ever do come back to eat here, I'll become a regular and can see how it feels to be welcomed and wanted.
