The staff here are extremely friendly, it's all smiles and good energy. It is clean and honestly really nice vibes. I got the burger since I was craving it, so worth it! It was such a good burger, I can't wait to try more things here!

I thought I would give this place a second chance since the first time I ate there and had breakfast. Unfortunately, it did not taste good. Today I arrived about 230 pm and ordered the taquitos. Again not too impressed. The lettuce they served with the taquitos was wilted. I'm surprised even though it was still early in the day. Wilted lettuce might be expected later in the day but a good restaurant should not serve food that has been sitting all day. Needless to say, I was so hungry I ate the taquitos except for the wilted lettuce. If i had to choose the only thing good was the guacamole but I've had better.

Food was good, a nice light breakfast! I did like the taste of the chorizo and the beans were my favorite! Overall really good quality and fast service!

Park where you can find a spot. The food is okay. Service is quick. The cost is slightly higher than most and portions aren't big nor small. NO Bathrooms. The owners who tend to you wont crack a smile . Ive been coming periodically here for years and Only because im asked by a family member. Take out orders might be a better fit. This place is very clean.

Very friendly service with a nice greeting as you enter. An extensive menu from breakfast to lunch and dinner. Lots to choose from and competitive pricing. Homemade style with drink selections on the side. Combos and daily specials are offered. We had the chicken parmigiana and the turkey burger combo. Both were delicious. Pastries for dessert too.

Had the pleasure of finding them gem of an establishment today. Service was great, food took no time at all to be brought to our table. Not much seating inside, but outside provided more space. Definitely will be back when me & my wife are in the area. My apologies I forgot to take pictures of our food. She ordered the pancake combo (came w/3 large pancakes, eggs and 4 pieces of bacon), I ordered the french toast combo (eggs & 4 pieces of bacon)

The service here is very friendly. This cafe has been around since my family first came to Whittier about three decades ago. Their club sandwiches are great and their fries are yummy as they're served fresh, crispy and thick. I also loved that they weren't salted. They give you ketchup, salt, and pepper so that the customer can season as they prefer. The coffee was also great and the price was very reasonable. I got the small mocha latte and as a slight sweet tooth who also gets acid reflux if drinking strong coffee I was pleased that the drink wasn't too strong and it was so satisfying. I also love that they put what seemed to be crushed cocoa pebbles in the drink. They also have decaf coffee for those who can't handle caffeine. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a retro feel inside with a menu written in chalk and traditional pastries displayed.

A weekend brunch with friends brought me to Madre's Whittier, where the menu offered plenty of tempting options--and a few unexpected lessons about ordering seafood. I tried the Ensenada Omelet, loaded with shrimp, salmon, crab, and octopus. Now, I'm a seafood lover, but octopus and I aren't exactly close friends. I asked if it could be removed, but since the seafood mix is pre-made, the octopus had already RSVP'd to the party. The omelet was good, topped with a creamy sauce, but not something I'd order again. The crab appeared to be imitation crab, and while everything was prepared well, it just wasn't a standout for me. The real star? The strawberry pancakes. Delicious! Next time, I'd order those with a side of eggs and call it a win. I also sampled the chilaquiles, and now that's a dish I'd come back for. The Tiramisu Latte was another favorite--not overly sweet and packed with that classic tiramisu flavor I love. A special shoutout to our waitress, Annie, who was attentive, friendly, and made our brunch experience even better. My Verdict: Skip the Ensenada Omelet and build your brunch around the stars of the menu instead. The strawberry pancakes are the must-order item, the chilaquiles are a strong savory choice, and the Tiramisu Latte ties everything together. If you order wisely, Madre's delivers a brunch worth coming back for.

Keep in mind both these drinks were on the sugary side, but I personally like that, but to each their own. The Aztec Mocha was super chocolatey which I loved, and the prices for each are fair for the size you get. The breakfast combo was very very good, a very generous amount of egg, the hash browns were crunchy and hot, and the bacon was delicious. I loved everything on the plate. The mini pancakes were great, good agreeable amount and came out hot. I would highly recommend the combo The chilaquiles were great as well, salsa had a nice flavor, chips were crunchy, and eggs were cooked to perfection. I'm not a beans person, but these were very good and light, I would recommend to order these as well. There is more outdoor seating on the covered patio than indoor seating. Both seating areas are nice. The lady who seated us was very friendly and pretty attentive and especially considering she wad handling a lot of other tables. Both the house eggs Benedict and house French toast were good. Was expecting crispy bacon on the benny considering the description, but the only difference from classic seemed to be the avocado. The benny egg and muffin were both collected well, especially the eggs they did a great job on those. Wife didn't like the flavor of the hollandaise sauce, but thought it was fine. She liked the French toast much better. You did not need syrup as the butter cream and chocolate sauce were plenty sweet on their own. Half serving is probably ok for one person, full was nice to share. The bathroom was clean, large, and single person--great for a pit stop before you head out! The mason jar waters were cool. I ordered the "House full French Toast", and it is loaded with sliced strawberries and bananas, and drowned in chocolate drizzles. The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.
