This is always my "go to place" when I want awesome Chinese food! The dim sum is always delicious! You can order off the menu if you want it cooked to order which is what I do. I like my food piping hot when I eat it. Today I ordered the salt and pepper fish fillet. I ask for some Chinese parsley (cilantro) which takes it to the next level. I also ordered beef pan fried noodles which were so good and crispy with great flavor. For dim sum I had the chive pan fried dumplings, fried meat dumplings ( nice and crispy) char sui baked buns. Did I eat there with other people? No. But when I drive into Orlando I can go by myself and take home the left overs!!! I have been going to Ming's ever since moving to Florida. Not worth a special trip. I've seen dim sum presented much better and with more attention to guests. Think of cafeteria seating and a television in the corner offering mainland Chinese news. Staff may or may not speak English. The menu includes dim sum check offs and a much better thought out array of main dishes. Unlike authentic dim sum where servers offer carts with bamboo steamers providing hot food, this restaurant pushes around individual dishes which may or may not be hot. Staff might provide hot tea if you ask often enough. When it's time to remove condiments, your soy sauce and hot oil disappear whether you're using it or not. Asked for hot mustard three times. We came here as soon as they opened and tables were already half full. I was told they have authentic dim sum so we wanted to try those as well as other varieties of foods. Our foods did not came out in one setting but I could tell that everything was cooked to order. I also tried jasmine tea and Chinese donut. This place has been a favorite for a while because the food is delicious. Service can be a bit better but they are working with what they can. We got in early in the morning as probably the second or third of the day. There was another gentleman and nobody else in the restaurant. We ordered a few dim sums and steamed chicken. When we were shown the menu, next to the steamed chicken was a written price of $14.99 (we even asked the waitress if that was "14.99" and she said yes) but then when we paid, they charged $15.99. $1 is nothing but I'd have appreciated it, had they been honest about it. The food was brought to the table in less than 5 minutes and some of them were warm but not hot, almost like they were just heated up but not cooked fresh. Everything was pretty bland, not much in flavor. Customer service was bad too. That first lady was fine. The restaurant is a pretty good place to try dim sum, if you ever wanted to try it. During the week is a good time to try dim sum though the selection is limited, it's not as busy as the weekend. The staff is very attentive but you also have time to really talk and not feel too pressured. On the weekends when they have the carts is a great time, with more selection but I do think sometimes there have been the one off weird experiences that have made me prefer weekdays. I didn't get a chance to take photos but I wanted to give them 5 stars for their service alone. We were a small group that heard great things about Ming's so we wanted to try their dim sum but did not realize that they closed at 9 pm on Saturday. We got their at 8:45 and we asked them if they would be able to accommodate us and they were more than willing to help us! So, we were grateful and were not disappointed because their dim sum was delicious. It's probably the best I've had in Florida...the portions were generous and the flavors were wonderful! The dim sum itself is a little below average versus other locations and it's probably a little bit above average for Orlando standards. Everything was the right temperature and was good. I have always loved Ming's but ordered takeout of their seafood fried rice. It's always been loaded with seafood with jumbo shrimp and large pieces of squid. Today there were tiny shrimp and the squid was cut up into tiny pieces that you could barely taste and the rice was very bland. Raise the price if you need to but don't make it a pathetic dish that no other Chinese place would ever serve. Very disappointed as Ming's has been our favorite place but apparently they are reducing the quality to save money. There are plenty of other places to try. The seafood rice was always so good. We mostly ordered dim sum food, but all of them was so delicious. Highly recommend the shrimp & beef paste with soy sauce. The crispy turnip dumplings are sooo good, but spicy so if you're not a spicy person, would not recommend. I endured it because it was soo good haha The only bad thing I have to say is that the seasame crispy balls were too hard. They did renovate this place from 2 years ago and it looks better than it once was. Glad to be back to where it was supposed to be in quality. Weekend dim sum push cart is the way to go! We ordered 2 bowls of the beef brisket noodle soup. This is a staple Cantonese dish and was cooked very well. Meat is tender and not too chewy. Noodles are plenty, but would be nice if they cut noodles in half as hard to put in small bowls. The rest of the dim sum, shrimp dumpling, chicken feet, tofu skin wrapped in meat, and fried shrimp dumplings are my favorite. If you want shrimp wrapped in white paste noodle, you need to ask the server to put in the order. I love to have my dim sum with chrysanthemum tea and sugar. Once you Place your Dim Sum Order they are Quick to Deliver your Orders and they Keep Coming as Ready! Dim Sum Order for 2 Included: -Siu Mai- The Largest we have Experienced! With this they fell apart with a Touch of the Chopsticks. Flavor was Ample with this being the Favorite Out of the Complete Order! -Spicy Chicken Feet- MASSIVE with Ample Meat/Skin! These came out a bit too Soggy for our Taste but were still Tasty with Flavor and Generous Portion Size. -Steamed Roasted Pork Buns- Fluffy Fresh Steamed Bun Encasing the Roasted Pork. The Roasted Pork did not have that Burst of Flavor we are used to with more of a Dry Inner leaving us Disappointed. -Roast Pork Rice Paste- The Least Favorite Item on the Table. Once I got there, I was advised my food wasn't out yet and it was already late per the timing they provided online. The Dim Sum is decent, but I'm sad that they don't push around the cart for you to choose from. I'm all for supporting Chinese businesses but I can't come back for dimsum. They are extremely unorganized. I walked in with no wait for a table. Once we checked off the items on our paper list, we handed it to our server. He then circled the items we ordered and left the paper with us. The kitchen would mass produce one dish and go table to table to see who ordered it. It took us about 45 minutes to get 3 dishes. They took so long to get us the other dishes, that we just ended up cancelling them out and asking for the check. I liked their shrimp dumpling. Their chicken feet was oily and not tasty. Their sticky rice is probably the worst sticky rice I've ever had. I would not come back during dimsum hours. When we got up to leave, we saw a line running out their door. They have definitely improved. I really enjoyed their dim sum dumplings but especially the Congee (rice soup, pork and duck egg).
