Extremely disappointed in the lack or organization and customer service. We arrived early just to get our names in and ensure we would have a table for 6 people. Was told "no problem". There were at least 4 tables availed when we got there, put our name in and were waiting maybe 20mins for the rest of our party to arrive. Within that time it started to get busy and next thing we know they gave away all the tables, no one came to say anything or (ask/give us for an update)and when I went and asked how long the wait might be now it was anywhere from 30-45mins, which we could no longer do. We had even asked to get seated so we could order some appetizers etc while others arrived, and the hostess didn't even come follow up until I went back up and talked to her. The food did smell amazing...but will never know now. Did have a drink at the bar while we were waiting, which was good. Ended up going down the block given the time we were on. They really need work on they're check in process, customer service and communication. read more

So we decided to eat some real Italian food after reading so many great reviews. We where very impressed with the cozy ambient the staff wich was very nice. We ordered Melanzane Parmiggiana and Primavera Spaghettini. Well in both dishes the chef must had put to much sugar the mozzarella was hard (low grade) and forget about pasta al dente. This place has wonderful food. IRS a place to celebrate accomplishments and each other. It's a small restaurant, but romantic setting and they have a brick pizza oven and a small bar to sit at. There are tables & a booth goes the pareminter of the wall on one side. They will even make you what you want within reason if you want a combo of two meals you see on the menu. Two meals and wine with appetizer for us was $100. Calamari was crisp & not overcooked. Their sauces are divine & homemade. May have changed owners but likely kept in the family. read more

Terrible experience just TRYING to eat here. Ordered Chicken Parm but wanted Alfredo sauce instead of red sauce on the side pasta. Seems simple enough...I was told that they will not do ANY substitutions. If I wanted to make that change, I would have to order a side of Alfredo sauce/pasta (which would be delivered separately in 2 different bowls) and have the kitchen put the marinara for the chicken on the side. Then I would have to assemble the meal...put sauce on pasta and then put marinara on chicken, etc. I mean you really want to put the customer through all that to change a sauce on a SIDE PASTA?!?? It was our first time at this restaurant and we selected Mio Nonno after going through a poll at home on the type of cuisine that we should order in for dinner... Once it was decided in favor of Italian, I looked up options on Yelp - the idea was to find a place that good reviews and avoid chains like Olive Garden & Maggiano's... We ordered Margherita Pizza, Primavera, Alla Crema and Pollo Parmigiana... The most disappointing was the pizza - on 2 counts... Didn't have much character and our daughter heard that the size was 15 inches when she asked this question... If the wrong information was shared, it is a bummer... The best dish was Alla Crema - all of us loved it... It was rich & creamy and it was nicely done, including the chicken that was cooked to perfection... Pollo Parmigiana was also nice, the chicken was placed on top and it was nicely done too.. The Primavera had different flavors and had enough variety of vegetables - flavors oozed out in each bite & none were over powering... The food and the quantity was good overall - the food was ready in 30 minutes for pick up... The restaurant hostess seemed a bit disinterested in my interaction - wouldn't read too much into it and would give benefit of doubt of a long day... The complimentary bread that was given was pretty ordinary, olive oil was hardly enough for eating the bread that was given as well... In essence, the restaurant definitely has some opportunities for improvement... PS: No mask mandate, staff doesn't wear them either... Everything on the menu is good, but some of the dishes are really great. The eggplant melanzane ala parmigiana is an inspiration. Eggplant sliced lenthwise paper thin, flash fried, stuffed with mozzarella and baked to perfection, placed on a bed of Cappelli and topped with their signature marinara and a dressed sparsely with a basalmic for sweetness. If you like thick pasta and meat sauce, I recomend the a la moda. It might not look as fashionable as it's name, but it's hearty flavor will fill your stomach and your spirit. My husband and I are always looking for that perfect, cozy, and romantic restaurant that we can go once every week or two. I really wanted this to be it. We just went a week ago, our second visit, and it really didn't quite make the cut. The free bread basket was really almost burned but we ate in anyways. We noticed it was also very greasy or oily, no need to even dip it. The second basket wasn't overcooked, but had that greasiness. My arugula salad, which was so pretty to look at and would have been delicious if it wasn't for, again, all the oil. It was so drenched. I am from Michigan, and I was in the area for work and found this restaurant on Yelp.....soooo good. I was traveling with a colleague (he had the Aragosta) his comment was, "this is the best pasta I've ever had". I had the Russia & it was delicious. Besides the great food, the staff was fantastic. We sat at the bar and the staff had great personalities & they were fun to spend the evening with. This place is definitely a must for the next time I am in town. Delicious... we love this little spot, word for the wise it gets busy fast especially on the weekends, week days not so crowded but if you're picking up be prepared to hangout at the bar and have a drink but it always comes out fresh and yummy! I've been meaning to come here to try out their pasta and I was not disappointed. The place was pretty full when I got there and I decided to just sit at the bar. The place is smaller then expected but it adds to the welcoming ambiance. They seem to be able to accommodate for groups and kids. Just an observation I made from my surroundings. Even though the place was full, service was quick and efficient. Since I was sitting at the bar the bartender was my server and he was pretty good at making conversation. They first brought out fresh flat bread with extra virgin olive oil and cracked black pepper. I absolutely love cracked black pepper. I'm not sure if there was anything else in it but thats what I tasted and I liked it. I got the Aragosta which is the lobster ravioli with a creamy tomato sauce that had bits of shrimp, sliced baby tomatoes and cut asparagus. Super yummy! I was pleasantly surprised. It had the faint atmosphere I am used to in Portland, aka foodie town. Wood oven, small, intimate, brick walls, etc. The only recommendation I have is to invest in an espresso machine! Italian restaurant without one! Great for a date night! A unique assortment of pastas on the menus, all of which are creamy and hearty. Meatballs are delicious, and their Russian pasta has just the right amount of kick to it. The restaurant has an intimate setting inside, with a bar placed not too far from any one table. We did try the Calamari ---it could be better as it was a little to fried (almost like an onion ring). I ordered a salad for $9, and it was plain lettuce that was similar to the sacks of cut salad a Kroger. The salad dressing tasted like something from Kraft Foods. My risotto with seafood smelled like my fathers tackle box. There was barely two tablespoons of risotto on my plate. Also the dish was filled with calamari which tasted like rubber bands.
