I ordered the chicken Paillard and it was a thin, over cooked chicken breast with a drizzle of lemony-caper sauce. The sauce was good, but did not make up for the limp Italian broccoli, unfortunately. We were told that the kitchen closed at 8:45...before our candle was blown out. Would I return? Maybe. No explanation provided for the variance. When i asked why the variance, i was told it was because i added peppers to my pasta dish. Three dollars for peppers?? I wouldn't have added had i known it came at an additional excessive cost. I would've been ok with just using red pepper flakes for free just to get the spice i wanted. All that aside, any additional cost should be explained prior to ordering and should be reflected on the receipt. This seems shady and deceiving to the customer. My fiance and I wanted some pasta for dinner one Saturday night. We arrived around 8 PM and there were almost no tables, but we only waited about 15 minutes at the small bar until we got seated. The interior of the restaurant is very romantic; you would never guess that you are in one of North Texas's many strip malls, with good parking too! Our waitress was very friendly and kind, and she gave us some suggestions for our meal. We got the calamari and the meatballs to start, and I got the eggplant parmesan and my fiance got their version of the chicken alfredo (I forgot what it was called). Both appetizers were good, but I really loved the meatball. It was made perfectly! My fiance's pasta was good but very very light. I guess we were expecting something a little more creamier. The eggplant parmesan, which we were told is their most popular dish, was very good. I liked the big portion of eggplant and the drizzle of balsamic vinegar which gave the meal a nice touch. The angel hair pasta below the crispy eggplant was very good too. For some reason my fiance and I couldn't stop laughing during our conversation and that caused me to drop a big piece of eggplant on my lap and to the floor when I was packing my meal to take home. Rookie mistake! Our waitress was very kind enough to help me with my little accident and didn't laugh at me! Darn I wish I was able to eat the rest of meal. Each time I come here it's for the Lobster Ravioli. The dish comes with about 5 or 6 pieces of pasta with a nice amount of lobster stuffed in each one. The tomato cream sauce compliments the pasta very nicely. It's also topped with pieces of chopped shrimp and sliced cherry tomatoes. I highly recommend this dish. The Margherita pizza is also very good. It is cooked with a good ratio of sauce and mozzarella. Overall, if you are in the area I recommend this place. If you are a fan of lobster pastas, it's definitely worth a try. 4 stars for food and service. read more

I don't know how many times I've drove down Stacy road and seen this spot, so glad my husband decided to take me tonight! It did not disappoint! Amazingggg! From the amazingly prepared drinks, that you only need one of, the warm soft bread and olive oil, and the homemade pasta dishes it was hands the absolute best! This place is a gem!! We had the restaurants old fashion and sunset in Sorento, perfectly made! We began with their bread and an appetizer of burrata, so good! For our entree we had the short rib capelleti and the alla moda, 10/10! The capelleti was stuffed with perfection with short rib meat and topped with this heavenly brown sauce. The alla moda was prepared with fresh pappardelle pasta, a flavorful bolognese topped with a crispy piece of speck (cured ham) and thick Parmesan slices!! I personally love the Primavera, which is a pasta and vegetables plate... Let me start by saying the food is amazing. However, the owner must not be working tonight. It's a Wednesday night. They close at 9:00. We arrive at 8:30. 5 minutes after we arrived, the music was turned off. We were told we needed to order fast since the kitchen was about to close. That fine. We get it. Then... The waiter was practically waiting at our table for our order. The runner laid our food down so quickly and abruptly. Didn't ask if we needed anything....not even Parmesan cheese. All she was concerned was drinking her Dr Pepper and clocking out at 8:57. Then I look up at the bar and the waitstaff was eating at the bar. Our waiter came to the table and brought my husband more tea. Went back to the bar and threw the pitcher away. Really? I guess he didn't need any more tea! It's not even 9 yet! The chef clocks out right after the runner at 8:58. Then our waiter asked us if we would like dessert at 8:59. We said no "thank you but I would like another glass of wine. " He went to the bar and came back and said no we can't serve wine this late. I looked at the time and it was 9:00 on the dot. Really? Maybe you should have asked me 5 minutes earlier or told me last call! There were still 2 other couples in the restaurant. The main issue is the waitstaff purposely made us feel so uncomfortable eating that I packed up my food to go so I could eat it later. I have never written a review before but this was the worst experience I have ever had. I do love this place so much and that is why I'm writing this review. I did notice there was not one adult working tonight only kids. If the kitchen closes at 8:30 or 8:45 then the hours need to change. 9:00 means the kitchen closes at 9:00 not 8:30. By far one of my most favorite Italian comfort food haunts. The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly, and the ambiance is very Italian and fun for a nice evening out. Or heck, if you're just wanting some comfort food to-go you can order that too. A couple of things to keep in mind: - If you've got allergies or trying to switch a white for a red sauce etc, this is not the place for you. Chef rules. - If you order takeout, expect to wait an extra 10-15mins upon arrival. I don't think this is a negative service thing, but more of a food quality thing. Whenever I order Eggplant Parmesan for instance, which is a crispy food that gets soft if you wait a while, I have to wait 10-15mins even if I arrived by the time they told me to show up. read more

I was really hoping that this place was going to work out, as my whole family loves great Italian food. First experience was a pickup order. Was told the order would be ready in 20-30 minutes. Got there a little over half an hour after placing my order. Had to wait an additional 25 minutes once I got there. A bit surprised, considering there were only a couple tables with people. Got my order, took it to the car and checked the bags. Two orders were completely missing, one was wrong. Went back and waited another 1/2 hour for the missing items and corrected order. (Meanwhile the rest of the food was getting cold). Not a great experience. Tried again a couple weeks ago. Went in with my daughter. I ordered the eggplant, she ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Buttered noodles, meatballs and sauce in the side. When we were sat, it was at about 1/4 occupancy with what seemed to be one waitress, a hostess with a trainee seating, bussing tables, and running food. Our waitress came over to take our drink order about 15 minutes after we were seated. I had a question on the menu, which took about 15 minutes to get an answer and placed our order ...meanwhile the restaurant filled up completely. 45 minutes later, my daughter's meatballs came, no pasta. Then my order came about five minutes after that. There must have been a wrapper of something melted into my dish, it tasted the way burnt plastic smells. Tried getting attention from someone, and it was impossible. Finally went to the bar to ask for a manager. By this time, there were probably 15+ people waiting outside. They were slammed, but we were there 1/2 before people started to come. I didn't ever see a manager. Waitress came by to apologize and comped our food, which was nice..but not a huge gesture considering neither of us had diner. However, on this particular day, I wanted some really good pasta and so onto Yelp I go. After sifting through a ton of places, I really wanted to try this place because of the amazing reviews for their eggplant which is one of my favorites. So with husband and daughter in tow, we arrived at Mil Nonno for an impromptu Tuesday night dinner. I convinced my husband to get the lobster ravioli since I also wanted to try that one and I got the eggplant. I was trying to convince my daughter to get the Alla Moda since I also wanted that but she insisted on the lasagna. I was very impressed with the eggplant. It was very well made, with the eggplant nicely fried and drizzled with what I think was a balsamic glaze. It was topped on a bed of thin spaghetti or angel hair? Inside the eggplant was fresh mozzarella. I thought the dish was good but the drizzle made it a tad bit too sweet for me. But I still did enjoy it. My husband's lobster ravioli was very good. It was cooked al dente and it was delicious. I didn't try my daughter's lasagna but she devoured it so I assume it was good. I will say that the fried calamari appetizer we had was my least favorite and the problem was with the texture. It was way too soft and it didn't feel like I was eating squid. Maybe that's how some people prefer it but for me it was not like how calamari should be. But alas, my daughter did gobble it up. Lucky find using my favorite app Yelp. This place is kind dark from the outside and is small on the inside. I think they would call it atmosphere. I sat at the bar and was all alone. Took a while to get recognized as a customer. I think they thought I was picking up a to go order. Got a drink and ordered the Alla moda. This dish was delightful. Sauce was thick and flavorful. The big surprise here was the pasta noodles were the star of the show. They were so well cooked and tender. If I was local I'd be here every week. read more

Holy smokes this place is good. Given that it is a pretty small restaurant, they do not take reservations ahead of time and can get really busy. With that being said, although it would be a fun place to celebrate I don't think they're great for groups. Lovely place for a date or for a table of four. The host was direct, but nice and funny enough. Once we were seated, we were just on cloud 9. They have a pretty extensive menu to choose from. Calamari was delicious. My lasagna tasted different from anywhere else I've tried it and I loved it. Other people at our table got eggplant parm and chicken parm (SO GOOD). Our waitress was attentive and made sure our water glasses were full. Dessert was also a hit. We came for my husband's birthday and they don't sing for you - so he was definitely happy about that. We tried three different desserts: tiramisu (came in a small mason jar-like container), chocolate bomb (super sweet and had a bunch of different textures), and creme brulee (several people's favorite). Had dinner while on a quick trip through town. Wasn't sure what to expect but was amazed at the meal we had at this restaurant. Friend and I both had pasta. I had the primavera-- it was out of this world! Fresh vegetables and light and delicious sauce. The goat cheese was a pleasant surprise. Only negative was that the bread was not fresh. Tasted and appeared to have been baked and cut about a day in advance. But who cares when the pasta is this good! We lamented about how we did not have this restaurant in our hometown. Was craving for Italian cuisine and yelped up some options, when I oversaw Mio Nonno close by. Stopped in for some late Saturday lunch and the place was not busy, but nice and quiet. Very cozy and romantic place to dine at. My boyfriend and I ordered the Alla Moda and Alla Crema. The Alla Moda is tomato based with grounded sausage for the protein and it is so flavorful with the perfect amount of seasoning. If you are more into creamy and rich dishes, the Alla Crema might suit your palette more with a creamy alfredo sauce as the base. Crema also includes chicken and mushrooms that add a unique flavor to the dish. I loved that they didn't skimp on the pasta sauces in the dishes which made the pastas really nice and creamy.
