We dropped into MioPane in Pasadena, but we came late, so there were just a few pastries and breads available. We paid roughly $16 for two breads, which felt rather costly for what we got. One of the breads had an extremely strong garlic flavor. The garlic was so strong that it felt like it was burning our throats, so it wasn't particularly enjoyable for us. We also tried a sesame bagel with cream cheese and lots of green onions. It looked nice, but the flavor was rather bitter, which my family and I didn't enjoy. Overall, the breads were okay for us. The flavors are undoubtedly robust and distinctive, but they weren't to our liking, especially given the price. Perhaps we'll have to arrive earlier next time to see the entire collection.

Taiwanese style bakery. Bagels are fluffier than traditional bagels. Went on a Saturday morning at 7:45am. Line was about 10 deep. At 8am opening, line grew to about 30. Busy but was in within 10 min after opening. Bagels we tried - 1) Green Onion: It was alright (keep in mind it is chopped raw green onion missed on with cream cheese ) 2) Jalapeño and Gouda: Nice kick with jalapeño in the cream cheese too 3) Garlic Bagel: Solid cloves of roasted garlic throughout (Definitely for garlic lovers) 4) Street Corn Bagel: Yummy flavors piled high with the corn and crema but will be messy 5) French Onion: Same carmelized onions as French Onion Soup. Crowd favorite 6) Matcha Crumble: Good matcha flavor 7) Black Sesame: Another favorite since the filling is both cream cheese and black sesame paste. So good! Strawberries and Cream came out after I checked out already but looked solid. Also tried the Strawberry Matcha Latte with added cloud Foam. Loved that the strawberry preserves tasted fresh and wasn't too sweet, but matcha flavor wasn't very strong.

Came on a Sunday around 10 am and waited around 15 mins to order and another 5 mins for drinks. They have a huge selection of pastries. Items were on the pricier end but they were huge and filling, though I wish they could've been warmed up. Service was friendly. -Garlic butter bagel (3.5/5): very savory, lots of cream cheese, very garlicky and oniony, had a slight kick -Everything bagel w/ smoked gouda (4/5): a little salty, savory and flavorful -Tiramisu croissant (4/5): rich and not overly sweet, slightly crispy -Matcha crumble (3/5): not too sweet or bitter, can taste the matcha -Matcha pillow (3.5/5): a little sweet at first, matcha was decent but not very strong

I ordered the Garlic Bagel and Elote Bagel, and both were absolutely delicious! The garlic flavor was super bold and strong--exactly how I like it. The Elote Bagel was packed with flavor, and the hint of lime brought everything together perfectly. They offer a great variety of savory and sweet bagels, along with pastries, coffee, and matcha. The interior is small and cozy, with one large communal table and a few stools along the wall. We waited about 30 minutes in line, but it was definitely worth the wait!

05/16/26 Saturday A friend brought assorted drinks and bagels to share for breakfast so I can only speak to the food but not the service or ambiance. 8.5/10 Matcha strawberry latte. Hard to mix the strawberry jam which settled to the bottom so the bottom was pretty sweet. Overall a good drink still. The matcha blended well with the strawberry. 7.5/10 Black sesame latte. Unsure if there's caffeine as I tasted no coffee. Black sesame flavor was strong but a little gritty with the sesame constantly settling to the bottom. Hard to mix as well. All the bagels were fresh. They were springy without being tough. 9/10 Strawberry Shortcake bagel - Tasted like a strawberry shortcake/birthday cake. Bagel was fresh. A little messy because the cream and toppings wouldn't stay on completely. 9/10 Roasted Tomato Herb & Cheddar bagel - very tasty with the tomato salsa and pesto on savory cream cheese. Didn't really taste the cheddar. Fresh. Kinda messy with the salsa and cheese falling off when pulling a piece of bagel off. 8/10 Matcha Crumble bagel - the matcha paste isn't creamy so it's not my cup of tea, but I loved the bagel portion. I think I need something creamy to balance the sweetness.

A Taiwanese bakery? Say less! Stopped by on a Sunday morning around 10AM and luckily only waited about 15 minutes to order and another 5 minutes for our drinks. The line grew quickly as we waited. Parking is limited so we walked over from our hotel. Service was friendly! Items are on the pricey end and I wish they were still warm or could have been warmed up. Whipped Cream Cheese with Garlic Butter (4/5): very filling, too much cream cheese. Had a slight kick to it lol Everything Bagel w/ Smoked Gouda (4/5): a little salty from the combination of the gouda and everything seasoning, but a good savory item Tiramisu Croissant (4.5/5): very rich and dessert-y. I enjoyed the tiramisu and the croissant was still slightly crispy Matcha Crumble (3/5): matcha cream inside wasn't too sweet, had a slight matcha taste Matcha Pillow (3.5/5): decent matcha taste, a little sweet at first but okay as the ice melted. I wouldn't get it again

My friend and I had dinner right next door and decided to stop by afterwards and to our surprise, there wasn't any line! The spot is pretty cramped, even inside although there is a bench on the window seating and a table, it's a really tight knit spot. Parking would also be if you're lucky for street parking or parking structures in the surrounding area. My friend and I got their Matcha Pillow which was by far my favorite matcha! It does not have that milky base overload taste even thought it's made with milk. It's very refreshing! I also got their pastries to try and they were to die for. Their cookies are humongous! I got their tiramisu cookie and we loved it.

If you are hunting for an ultimate breakfast pastry or honestly anytime dessert/snack pick me up, check this place out. Located in Old Town Pasadena, it is the first US location for the popular Taiwanese bakery China. This place brings an incredible Asian diasporic twist to classic laminated dough and stuffed bagels. They have a pretty wide selection of different flavor stuffed bagels, sweet and savory. A great savory choice is Garlic butter and whipped cream cheese. For a slightly sweeter option, the black sesame cream cheese is one of my favorite out of the two visits I made. Their drinks are great as well. My top recommendation is Houjicha latte with cream top, ugh. The ambiance of the shop is pretty aesthetic. But it is packed as heck on weekends. Since the seatings are pretty limited and are almost always occupied, a lot of people are huddled around while waiting for their orders. It can get somewhat cramped. I would say have a back plan of just getting it to go and enjoy it later or go to the alley where iPic theater is! Plenty of seats. The line can get somewhat long. On both visits, I've waited for nearly 30 minutes, which isn't all that bad. I don't know if it's the same on weekdays though.

Went on Sunday around 1p, only 15 min wait, appreciate the system of having someone at the door let us know when we can go inside. All servers were very friendly. Awkward waiting for drink though b/c space is small and packed. Now the bagels. I got just savory ones: green onion, tomato, Mexican street corn. Gah I hate to say it but they're just fine? Fun combos and w/ lots of the toppings but the bagel itself for all three were just okay. Which was disappointing. Almost rather get a yummier bagel and just put the toppings on myself. Also I wish the toppings were more boldly Asian - salted egg or something like that. Got the Hojicha pillow latte and that was pretty good. Wasn't even that long of a wait but more than I'd like for a whatever bagel and a pretty good latte that I could get somewhere else with no wait and way less crowded. Wouldn't wait in line again for this.

Delicious bakery that specializes in creative bagels in the Pasadena area! I visited this bakery with a friend on a Sunday morning and it was packed, but the line moved relatively quickly. We probably waited about 20 minutes in line. My friend and I shared the following pastries: - Mexican Street Corn Bagel: My friend's and my favorite pastry. The bagel texture was soft and chewy and we enjoyed the creamy and spicy cream cheese. The roasted corn was also tasty. I would get this again. - Maple Glaze Green Onion: Unique croissant! I enjoyed the combination of the savory green onions and sweet maple glaze. The croissant was also flaky which I liked. - Strawberry Shortcake Bagel: Tasty and sweet bagel. I enjoyed the strawberry jam and crumbled cakes bits inside the bagel. It would even be better with some sort of cream cheese. - French Onion Bagel: My least favorite pastry out of what we got, but it wasn't bad. I would've liked this one better if it were more savory. Everything was great, but feel like it would've been better if they were warmed up instead of room temperature. I'm not sure if that's possible with the cream-based items, but I would have definitely enjoyed the croissant better if it was warmed up. The crowd control was pretty good and it was easy to select the items you want and pay for them. The interior isn't the biggest and there are limited tables and seats to sit and eat at. They also have a roomy private bathroom available. Overall, a good experience here. I would come back and try the items and drinks.

Taiwanese owner, asian-inspired flavored bagels. There's always a line, but it moves fast. Our favorite: Cream cheese & Onion, Everything Bagel, Garlic & Cream cheese, Mexican corn, and Milk crumble. Everything is made fresh in house everyday, they also help you warm up the bagels if you eat right away.

Easily my favorite bakery in Pasadena! If you're a bagel enthusiast, Miopane needs to be on your radar right now. Such a great spot! There is a parking structure on Union St and there's street parking. The line moves relatively fast. There is a line because they don't want to overcrowd the inside which makes sense but the staff keeps it moving. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I've been to my fair share of bakeries, but the texture and bold flavors here are in a league of their own. The bagels are elite. You get that perfect, snappy chew on the outside, opening up to an insanely soft, pillowy inside. I also think it's a big plus they go heavy on the fillings. The matcha crumble and the jalapeno sharp cheddar need to be on your list for your first time.

This is a cute bakery in Pasadena - on a Sunday afternoon, there was a pretty long line that wrapped around the shop. They're famous for stuffed bagels with a ton of sweet and savory flavors. I LOVED the tomato and garlic one, which was kind of like a bruschetta filled with a garlicky cream cheese. The elote bagel was huge and was literally exploding with toppings, but it was kind of crazy to see how they made a bagel taste like elote. The matcha was also yum!

Wake and Late has become my new go-to breakfast/lunch spot in Pasadena!…read more I discovered Wake and Late about three weeks ago, and I've already been here about 6 or 7 times! I can honestly say I'm hooked. Their burritos have become a staple for me, especially because they're not overly filling and, unlike a lot of breakfast burritos I've had, they don't leave me feeling super bloated afterward. I keep my burrito pretty basic since I don't like meat in my burrito. I usually get egg, cheese, avocado, and tater tots, and it's SO good. I did try adding the refried beans once, and the first time they were delicious. Unfortunately, the second time they tasted a little off, so now I just stick with my usual order without the beans. And let's talk about the iced coffee! This is probably one of my favorite things here. I work in the area and parking in Pasadena can be a nightmare, so I usually walk about 15 minutes from work. By the time I get here, especially on a hot day, I'm completely overheated and that iced coffee hits the spot every single time. Definitely recommend getting one! The service has also been consistently great. Everyone I've interacted with has been kind and friendly, and the whole operation is really efficient. I also love their app. If it's your first time and you download the app, you get $10 off, which I thought was a great incentive. You also earn rewards with your purchases that you can use toward future orders, and I really appreciate that. Those little perks go a long way! My only complaints are the prices for add-ons. I think $2.50 just to add refried beans is a little steep, especially when you're already purchasing a burrito. Bacon being $4 is also on the pricey side. I don't mind paying typical Pasadena prices, but I do think some of the add-on costs could be more reasonable. Overall, though, I really enjoy Wake and Late and it has quickly become my go-to breakfast/lunch spot when I'm working in the area. Great burritos, AMAZING iced coffee, friendly employees, and a really efficient operation. Their packaging/logo is very nice also. I definitely recommend checking them out and get the iced coffee!

SALT BAGEL, EVERYTHING BAGEL, CACIO E PEPE, EVERYTHING PUMPERNICKEL BAGEL All of the untoasted bagels except the Cacio e Pepe, had a firm outer texture, a bit hard to tear apart with hands. The beet cream cheese was delicious with all the bagels! Cacio e Pepe was soft all around, unlike the other bagels. Cacio e Pepe had a light cheese and black pepper crust. It wasn't full of cacio e pepe flavor right off the bat, but still enough to know what you're eating. If you ate only the top bagel, I think you'll get the best of this bagel. Still good all around, even toasted. I think it will be great as a bagel sandwich. Everything Pumpernickle had a good pumpernickle flavor in addition to the everything seasonings. There were booths, counter seats and outdoor seats too. It was packed inside on a Wednesday lunch. Got there before noon. CUSTOMER SERVICE Overall good, friendly service. Staff was smiling and that's always a good thing! Went on a Wednesday before noon, but it was nearly packed. PARKING Horrible. Just horrible. Street parking only. There's a few spots directly in front of Belle's, but it's metered parking too and also it was full. It's parking that always makes or breaks your experience when driving to LA. After driving around to find a decent parking spot, I finally found one close to Belle's, but after parking, I realized it was a loading zone. So hurried to get my food to go and just ate in the car. Overall, I enjoyed the bagels here and would love to return for their bagels and lunch offerings.

We almost skipped it but so thankful we added it to our first stop on our last day in SoCal. Our to-go order included extras like French Toast bagel that comes with syrup. Hot drinks like cappuccino and ceremonial matcha also made it into our cart. Everything was beyond better than any bagel we've had. The hype is nothing to shrug off. Articles written about this establishment are posted around. They even have a flyer like handout that you can take that tells the story. It was a crowded place for sure. Locals were pouring in for all the.good things. Atmosphere is very casual, relaxed with high and low tables inside and plenty of patio seeding outside. Parking could be challenging. There is an underground parking area with limited parking. Aside from that, street parking is hit and miss. Ordering is managed through the touch screen available at the front. The staff is very helpful and friendly and able to answer questions. There is plenty of free street parking in the neighborhood - you just have to walk a bit but nothing major.
