Visited yesterday. Arrived around 8:10am and there was a line. It wasn't super long, but it still took a long time. While waiting, I noticed that they were putting up names for the bagels. At first, they only had one gal taking orders. A guy staff came out later (possibly the owner) assisted me. Ordering process was quick since you basically go from one end to the other. I chose and asked questions as I browsed. He was nice and patient. Placed my items on the tray. He recommended the coffee and a savory one. I got it. I didn't see the tomato or the pesto nor the green onion croissant. He told me that it was sold out and that they will have more coming out later. He didn't rush me. I didn't take long anyways since I saw the line got longer. Exactly how good customer service should be. Customers waited patiently to order so staffs should be patient as well. Kudos! I then proceeded to checkout. They wrapped each bagel/croissant individually and placed it in the bag. That took up some time, but neat. Was out prob around 8:50am. We got a total of 5 bagels and 1 original croissant. Will be back for the savory ones. I guess it is best to go a little later so everything would be available. I really wanted to try the tomato one. Oh well. The matcha bagel was good. A must get!! We enjoyed it so much. Prob the best outta all the bagels we got. Mango was ok. It was nice to see some mangoes inside w/cream cheese. Very little cream cheese tho. Bread was chewy and fluffy. It wasn't dry. I honestly thought the cream cheese would have a mango flavor..would be nice. Sweet milk bagel was nothing special, imo. Have been hearing about this place on social media for so long and finally gave it a try over the weekend. Heard about how long the lines get so came early around 9:30am to beat the crowd. There was still a line at the time but the wait wasn't too bad, only around 30 min. They also gave umbrellas for people waiting so that was pretty nice. They have lots of bagels to choose from, sweet to savory options. I don't have much of a sweet tooth so ended up getting most of the savory options. Got the Sour Cream & Onion Cream Cheese, Roasted Tomato w/ Herbs and Cheddar, Jalapeno Sharp Cheddar, and Whipped Cream Cheese & Garlic Butter. Also got the Matcha Pillow to go with the bagels. The bagels all smelled and looked delicious, and they tasted great too. The Whipped Cream Cheese & Garlic Butter and the Sour Cream and Onion were my favorites since they were savory and not a taste you get sick of. The Roasted Tomato was also pretty good since it's warm and stuffed with tomatos and herbs so it felt like a healthier option out of the others. The bagel size is also the average size and the texture is the perfect soft and chewyness that is easy on your jaw and you can tell it's freshly baked. It is just a bit overpriced for what it is but worth trying! Next time I would only go for one or two different kinds to split with family. As for the matcha, it's not bad but not mind blowing for the price and cup size. I wouldn't get it again. The interior is nicely decorated and has seating. I was curious to try this place and see what makes a Taiwanese bagel so special. I think it ultimately comes down to a chewier texture and the fillings, but I wasn't super impressed. My friends and I got the maple green onion croissant, roasted tomato and cheese bagel, black sesame bagel, tiramisu croissant, and earl grey scone with orange peel and chocolate chips. All of them were pretty good but not great. I'd say the standouts were the maple green onion croissant and the roasted tomato and cheese bagel, both of which were more savory and interesting. For a parking tip, park at the Marriott Parking facility down on Raymond Ave. which is right down the block. It's $1 parking for 2 hours, which is more than enough time. We were actually walking around Old Town a few weeks ago when we noticed a new coffee/bakery shop opening up. Next thing I knew, saw an IG post indicating that it was actually a Taiwanese bagel shop. Decided to check it out as we were going to be in Old Town. Arrived at around 0745 to see a line about 20 people deep. As they are still sort of in a soft opening phase, the doors didn't actually open until around 0810. Word of caution as the line moves pretty slow as there were only 2 staff members helping customers with baked items and only 1 cashier that places each item into a bag. They are currently limiting each guest to only 1 of each item but you are allowed to purchase as many baked goods as you like. To keep the display case filled, they do take time to restock with freshly baked items. As I was heading to my parents, I ended up buying a variety of items for us to try (mix of sweet and savory bagels and danishes). Can't remember all of them items I purchased but there were definitely some really good and some mediocre items. Came on a Saturday afternoon 30 min wait from line to ordering to receiving drinks. It was very busy inside but the line and amount of people going in were being monitored by an individual at the door which was nice. Hojicha einspanner was 3/5: it wasn't sweet and it was nicely creamy. Matcha pillow was 4/5: loved the creamy top and mixing it all up to get the perfect balance of flavor. Whipped Cream cheese & garlic bagel was 5/5: I would come in line again for this. It looks like an overwhelming amount of cream cheese at first glance but it was perfect. We were excited to try this new Taiwanese bakery that came to our attention via an influencer video, however we were a bit disappointed. We arrived in line at 7:40AM on a Thursday and ordered our bagels at 8:40AM. We were lucky enough to nab a seat at the center table and share 5 bagels among three of us. The bagels were dense not airy as shown in the video. The "cheesy" bagels were not cheesy at all. No cheese pull, but instead just an uneven chunk of cheese stuffed in the middle. The bagels ranged between $6.75 and $7 Double Cheese - This was so flat, no cheese pull and a big disappointment. It was supposed to be sharp cheddar and provolone but didn't taste that at all. Felt under cooked Everything Gouda - Better than the double cheese. The gouda was soft, but not amazing Tomato Basil - Very pizza-eque and standard. Jalapeño Cream Cheese Croissant. - My favorite since it was the only one that was actually warm. The top of the croissant had great seasoning. Burnt Onion - My friends favorite for the flavor for hard hitting garlic. These bagels were served room temperature and honestly, the mom and pop bagel shops are way better when toasted. The texture, temperature and use of cheese did not hit and it felt like the influencer was made a special batch. OR we were unlucky to experience a bad batch on this particular day. I Seen MIOPANE on IG and added it to the list of places to visit while in Pasadena. We got there around 8:30 and there was already a line but definitely worth the wait , it does get sunny while waiting outside the employees offer umbrellas to block the sun ( nice added touch) . Now on to the bagels we got one sweet (strawberry shortcake)and one savory (sour cream and onion . Both were delicious the strawberry one to be my favorite . What a better way to celebrate my 300th review than by sharing an experience of a very new place that opened just on New Year's Day. Miopane has been welcome with lines around the corner each morning so far. Walking out with their bag automatically draws others' attention to ask if the wait was worth it. So... was it? Overall, in the bites I was lucky enough to score-- Yes. Ironically, we got nothing we hoped to actually try except for one! Which was the maple glazed green onion croissant. Here's the thing with Miopane: The wait is long and the items go quick. If you intend to go there in expectation of getting exactly what you want from the menu, you will unfortunately be going in with disappointment. Why? Because they can literally only bake and display so many things to meet the ongoing demand of the lines. What we ordered: Double cheese, maple green onion, and an upside down sticky bun. Moral of going to a new, on-trend bakery and cafe is to be spontaneous in what you order. If you're very set at getting what you want, come early or maybe let the line fizzle out a bit. It'll give them more time to get more goodies baking in the oven! For not getting to try everything we hoped we would, the items we got were pretty stand out. The concept of having everything already packed and baked into the pastries/bagels is delicious and way less of a struggle. I do like that there is a sign that stops you until you are called & someone to manage the line (unfortunately not many people read the sign). Water was offered during the wait also, which is always a plus! BAGELS: Jalepeno W Sharp Cheddar (5/5): This was SOOO good and especially fresh! My favorite bagels are jalapeno and cheese so this may be biased but this was seriously one of the best I have ever had. Sour Cream & Onion (5/5): Straightforward. Not too salty, fresh onions inside and a generous amount of cream cheese on perfectly toasted bagels. IMO perfect balance of flavors I could have asked for based on its name. Matcha Crumble (4/5): If you're a matcha lover you'll love this crumble! Well flavored without being too sweet or dry. Finally got to check this place out! Go here when you're not in a rush because you will definitely be waiting in line. On weekends expect at least a 30 min wait. It's a pretty small place but they did an amazing job at keeping up with the crowds and having all their best sellers throughout the day. Spoke with the team leader as well, Austin, you can tell he's very passionate about what he does and actually cares about the community thinks about his business and staff. Finally came to try their bagels after hearing all the hype about it on social media. I parked a few blocks down since parking can be tricky in Pasadena. There was already a line at 9am and the sun was out. An employee handed it white paper parasols for us to block the sun which was very considerate! The storefront is pretty small with limited seating inside. They call you to the counter when it's your turn to order. The selection of bagels and pastries are right in front behind the glass so you can see they're all very fresh. They make the drinks to order as well. I tried a few of their savory bagels: sour cream and onion, garlic cream cheese, jalapeño cheddar, and tomato basil. Each was around $7 which is kind of pricey. They were all softer than the usual bagel. Favorite was the garlic cream cheese- very strong garlic flavor! We also tried the matcha cloud ($6.75) for a pretty small cup to be honest. I've been wanting to try Miopane for ages now since I saw it blow up on social media. I finally found the time to try it on a Wednesday afternoon at 1pm. It's a pretty big spot for a bakery. There's paid parking on the side of the street but beware that the ones directly next to the store is 15 minutes only and requires payment. They manage their traffic very well! There's a sign posted in front of the door that lets you know that you have to wait until someone calls you over to take your order. There's a transparent glass that displays all the pastries they have available. My group unfortunately did go too late and they were sold out of their most popular items. I order 6 pastries and the total came out to be about $50. The woman that helped us out was so nice and patient as we were deciding what we wanted to order. The pastries that I got to try were green onion sour cream bagel, matcha crumble, tiramisu crossiant, blueberry crossiant, and roasted tomato with herbs and cheddar. Ratings: Roasted Tomato with Herbs and Cheddar (8/10): This one tasted like a pizza! There's a combination of sundried tomatoes and fresh tomatoes along with baked in cheese in the middle. This one would be a get again for sure. Tiramisu Crossiant (7/10): There's a brownie in the middle with some sort of chip mixed in! That was a surprise! This one was definitely on the sweeter side for sure. The portion of the crossiant to the brownie was perfect and this one was definitely my favorite. Green Onion Sour Cream Bagel (6/10): I wouldn't get this if you can't brush your teeth after eating. There's 3 big chunks of roasted garlic embedded into the green onion sour cream which was a surprise. You definitely need to like green onions a lot to be able to enjoy this. Matcha Crumble (5/10): This one was said to be a popular one. This was a bagel form where they incorporate matcha into the bagel itself and also fill it with a matcha paste. The paste does have a powdery texture, almost reminds me of a red bean bun from a Chinese bakery. I personally have texture issues so this wasn't enjoyable for me. Blueberry Crossiant (5/10): The cream made the crossiant in the middle very soggy. This one was definitely on the tart side. I had the matcha flavored bread and the everything bagel. the everything bagel was very flavorful with the Gouda inside. The matcha bread was decent as well but a little bit sweet. The service was fairly fast despite there being a long line. The inside feels bustling and people are mostly sitting at the tables to wait for their food. I think they do make an effort to keep the line outside though which is helpful. I would say though, I'm not sure what exactly is Taiwanese about it - I had seen it marketed as a Taiwanese bakery. read more

So since I rarely find myself up in Pasadena, I hit up two places I had bookmarked for a while - first Badash Bakes, and then Miopane. And while Badash Bakes isn't bad, it is verrrry sweet. So it was a relief to get to Miopane and suddenly I was stressing out on how to narrow down my choices. It's all really good, so many choices, and even for the sweet bagels, it is "not too sweet" - Asian A++. I got the Garlic Cream Cheese, the Scallion cream cheese bagel, and a black sesame bagel. Everything was delicious. Although after I was about to leave, THEN I saw the elote corn bagel ....I'll have to come back for that one. The line wasn't terrible - it keeps moving. But inside is pretty packed - there is just a row of counter seats, and one large communal table, so may be best to take your food to go. Bathrooms available. read more

We got lucky!!! Line was short when we arrived. There was about 5 people in front of us which is really good considering their lines can be really long. They had a guy ( I think was the manager) who was super friendly and thanked the customers for patiently waiting. He asked if it was our first time and gave us the run through on how the ordering process worked. He also was able to check the avialbity of certain breads that we wanted. The breads are truly unique. Some flavors that you think doesn't good well like the green onion croissant was delicious! We were lucky to get one of those and tried other flavors. All in all...worth the wait. The only thing that was hard was parking. If you can get street parking, snag it right away. Definitely coming back!!! read more

My friend and I got the blueberry cream cheese and matcha crumble bagels as well as matcha lattes. The bagels were very good especially the matcha crumble which was still warm, almost tasted like a matcha pineapple bun to me. The blueberry cream cheese was also good but not amazing. The matcha latte was too sweet for me, not sure if they can do it unsweetened. The line was a bit long but actually went by pretty fast. Service was nice and friendly. There's limited seating inside but we still were able to sit down to eat a bite of the bagel before leaving. read more

Came on a Saturday morning ~9:30 and the wait was about 35-40min. Luckily it wasn't very sunny but the workers told me they hand out small umbrellas for people waiting in line which is so thoughtful of them. There is still a 4 item limit per person I believe. Scallion croissant- my fav. Probably bc I'm biased towards croissants but I really liked the savory- sweet combo. The croissant was perfectly crispy on the outside. Gouda bagel and everything egg croissant- both delicious but nothing too special imo Sesame bagel- not too sweet, I enjoyed it Jalapeño cheddar bagel (not pictured)- probably my second favorite. Had a kick and the flavors were on point. I really like how all the bagels were baked with the fillings inside. It makes them more airy and each bite felt very balanced not to mention less messy. If it wasn't for the wait, I would come here more often. Definitely worth trying. Can't speak on if it's worth the wait since everyone's tolerance is different and the wait times seem to vary a lot. read more

I came to Miopane two separate times, once on a weekday and on a Saturday. I'm not sure if it's a weekend thing or the new bakery hype dying down but the wait was only 15 minutes when I came on Friday and 30 minutes on Saturday which was much more bearable compared to the first few weeks they opened. The first time I came I tried all savory bagels, including the jalapeño cheddar, burnt onion, triple cheese, and sour cream and onion. The highlights of the savory bagels were the jalapeño cheddar and the triple cheese. The second time I came was time for the sweet bagels. I got the mango, matcha, blueberry cream cheese, and the strawberry shortcake. The mango and matcha were definitely the highlights! I would recommend the matcha crumble if anyone is a fan of matcha. The blueberry cream cheese and the strawberry shortcake were a bit disappointing and didn't have much special to it. Overall, Miopane is a modern and comforting addition to the Pasadena area and I would go back! read more

Got here on Sunday right after opening and my friend waited about an hour. We got a variety of things but the favorite was the maple scallion croissant. We also enjoyed the strawberry and blueberry bagels. While we were eating there - more bagels were coming out that weren't available for us purchase. It truly depends on when you get there and what you can get. Everything was warm aside from the egg pasty when we got it. I also go the matcha pillow and enjoyed it. read more
