Incredible spot to have your fresh caught fish cooked! Awesome atmosphere and service! My father and I caught some tuna today and the internet kindly led us to Misiones de Kino (a few blocks from our hotel in the Marina.) They were extremely responsive to my request for a reservation (same day) via their website. I am here to tell you that the internet was 1000% correct. From the moment we arrived we had a fantastic experience! If you have fresh fish to be cooked, bring it here! We were seated in a great spot, with a fan near a fountain. The whole dining area is super welcoming and thoughtfully decorated. The chef did an amazing job with the tuna, starting us with some incredible sashimi and ceviche. We had to force ourselves to stop eating, knowing more was coming. Emiliano got us started with some freshly made cucumber mezcalitos. After fishing most of the day, it was exactly what we needed! Then the team brought out a platter of tuna prepared 4 ways: * chilpaya (secret house white sauce that will blow your mind) * seared (with wasabi cream sauce) * sesame crusted * coconut mango All four were amazing, but our favorite was the Chilpaya. We even asked for some to go! The rice and veggies were also delicious and prepared perfectly. We got an impromptu serenade from some mariachis and after they sang happy birthday, Emiliano gifted me a 10yr aged tequila that was wonderful! We even went to thank the chef at the end. A hole in the wall restaurant with flavor rivals restaurants at high end resorts. Friendly staff and with a very tropical jungle vibe once inside the walls. If the weather's nice I recommend sitting in the courtyard. We ordered the queso fundito, which was so good it only lasted about 2 minutes on the table before we devoured it all. We were recommended the Chilpalla pasta by the bartender. Garlic haters stay away. Rich and flavorful. I added shrimp to mine. One of my friends got it with chicken and shrimp which I think is the way to go. From others in our group you can't go wrong with the steak fajitas or any of the tacos. Definitely high on my list of places you have to stop at while in Cabo. read more

First of all the atmosphere is GORGEOUS! Open air, very sophisticated & traditional. The service was also top notch. The restaurant very well staffed. We made a reservation & asked if we could bring in our fresh caught tuna. They said that would be great. The chef prepared a sashimi appetizer with lime, soy & Serrano chile peppers that blew our mind. They also seared some of our tuna with garlic & butter as well as a coconut preparation with a lovely mango sauce. They were all fabulous. We also enjoyed the risotto & clam linguine! We ordered way too much food but were thrilled with everything. We also savored a bottle of crisp Mexican white wine that was so perfect with our meal. We haven't been here in 5 years. Glad to see they are still around. Service was amazing. The atmosphere was beautiful. Our appetizer was the dinner entree molcajete served table side. Let me start with the restaurant is really cute. It's outdoors, nice scenery very romantic however, our food took a long time to come. We had to ask several times for our appetizer. They continued to pressure us for drinks and they got one of our plates incorrect. They charged us for a mixed fajita, but they only brought the steak. This little local joint was found on Yelp because of it's ability to cook a local catch. If you're a fisherman who hates crowds, this place is for you!! We had 2 Mahi fileted so we had a decent amount of meat. We just walked in and asked if they would cook our fish, they were more than happy and immediately started to process our catch. While we waited we sat in the bar and drank some of the best Margarita's I've had in Mexico. They were poured heavy with Tequila and the combination of all fresh ingredients made them the perfect start. The restaurant started out with a plate of Mahi Sashimi and Mahi Ceviche, both were absolutely exquisite and showed how versatile this fish is for the table. Lastly they brought out a platter with Mahi cooked with a Vera Cruz Sauce, Blackened and covered with a Garlic Butter Sauce. The sides of rice and fresh veggies were the perfect accompaniment. We couldn't finish what they cooked so we took the fresh fish along with some leftovers. We spoke with the restaurant owner while we were there and thanked him for taking such great care of us, he was a super nice guy and made the entire dinner all that much better. This restaurant is about a block off the main drag, it's worth the walk to get away from the craziness, 100% you need to give it a try!!! We stop here ever time we are in Cabo & it does not disappoint. It is in the location of an old mission church which is super pretty & cool. You must get the tortilla soup if you go. Nothing beats it!!! My dad & I got fajitas which were pretty good. My sister got the chalupa pasta which she liked also. My mom always gets the kebabs which she loves every time. Best meal of our trip, hands down. We tried resort food several times, a few trips into town, and nothing was really worthy of note. But this place hit the spot. A converted mission building from the 1600s. Great music. Great decor. The bar near the entrance had some small batch tequila in a cask that was better than any tequila I had the whole week. They'd already won me over before the food showed up at our table. The wife ordered lamb ravioli and I had catch of the day (seabass, if I recall correctly) cooked Veracruz style: in banana leaves with some capers, olives, peppers, onions and herbs. Mouth-watering would be an understatement. The lamb ravioli was also very tasty. Overall, great experience. It was odd that there weren't many customers at the time. A pleasant surprise to find this great restaurant in downtown Cabo. The ambience was great as well as the staff and food. Karina was the hostess who spoke perfect English and was very helpful to answer any question we had. She was very pleasant and a joy to talk with. Jojo was our waiter and was very attendant and quick to bring any thing we ordered rapidly to our table. I ordered the Huanchinago and it was great! We have been coming to this restaurant for years. It is a hidden gem. We went again this month and we're a little disappointed that the food was not as good and serving sizes were smaller than in the past. Plus the service was not as special as in the past. Took order and moved on vs making it an experience. The dessert we ordered was supposed to be made table side with flames...but could not do so due to winds. They should have told us that when we ordered that there would be no table side experience. I hope the food and service improves as we will be back to try again. This place is an amazing off the beaten path restaurant which was a small family owned establishment that was authentic and original. The small but intimate bar was great and the service attentive and they made excellent margaritas with premium tequila. We had the octopus and jalapeños poppers which were hand made and delicious.
