I love there baked rolls, they are so unique and tasty my favourite is Snow White, instead of sushi they have also great food special the yakisoba (buy honestly everything is so good) the dishes are pretty big too which is nice if you hungry. Love it! Absolutely love it! Portions on point! One problem we have here in anchorage with sushi is fish proportions. A lot of places in town seem to be skimping on their cuts, some that I have given the benefit of the doubt to a new chef only to realize it may just be the new norm. The uni was Pretty fresh and oysters were clean tasting, is usually get Hamachi and ikura but Hawaii rarely has Ono sashimi so I wanted something different. Our first time here. The staff is warm and inviting. The dining area is small, cozy, and clean. The decor is fun. Now the food We had 4 rolls - The Alaskan, Snow White, Vegas, and Crystal. Each roll was incredible and fresh. You can sit at the bar and watch them prepare the food if you like. Of course miso soup and salad was served as a complimentary appetizer. The food is wonderful. Service is shockingly slow. This has nothing to do with how fast the chefs made our sushi: that was shockingly fast. Every other aspect of the dining experience was so slow, unprofessional, and disorganized that I'm sitting here, waiting for the check, and fuming while I write this review. This is a perfectly good Korean fish themed store masquerading as a restaurant. The waiters are friendly and helpful. The drinks are reasonably priced. Two stars for that. The food is another matter ... I had tempura, miso soup and spicy tuna roll. The tempura has very thick and not crispy batter. The dipping sauce was pretty much just diluted soy sauce. The tempura was freshly made but beyond that quite awful. The miso soup was boiling hot. The tofu almost non existent and the flavor pretty much just stock miso (ok, no surprises here, after all, the name of the restaurant is 'miso', so you'd expect that ...). Not much trace of dashi (seaweed stock). The spicy tuna roll must have been made with gochujang, judging by the taste. The nori was ok (a bit tough but ok). Not sure if this is the best Anchorage can offer but it definitely isn't on par with any random sushi restaurant in a major city. Avoid unless desperate! You're much better off going to one of the local brew houses and eating local salmon. read more

Very nice, friendly little sushi restaurant close to home. We only ordered 3 things during our visit: California roll, hamachi nigiri, and tempura. The California roll tasted good, was a larger roll than I expected. The hamachi was delicious and fresh and a good slice, not to thick or thin, not too much rice, although the rice was sweet than I'm used to. The tempura was perfect, beautiful and lightly coated. We'll have to come back and try more items, definitely worth another visit. read more

Really fresh sushi, clean and updated atmosphere. I ordered the volcano roll and the scallops were perfectly cooked. Not over cooked and chewy like other places I've been. The uni was so fresh and creamy and the ikura was really fresh and not dried out. So far this is my favorite place to get fresh sushi in Anchorage! read more

Lovely new Japanese restaurant replacing a local favorite, Sushi Ya. I have to say I came in hungry, with no expectations. Decorated lovely, service right on it and relaxing ambiance. By far the best sushi I've had in awhile. We ordered the Spicy Orange & Dragon, AMAZING! They give a nice portion, the sauce was not over powering, so you can definitely taste the meat and whatever garnishment or sauce compliments it. Lot of sushi places hide their poor meat quality with loads of sauce, but clearly not the cause at Miso Sushi, and BOY! I have always heard this was a good place to go eat a good meal. Absolutely correct, the table of eight next to us had a giant sushi boat,,, more like a ship! I'm a bit surprised at how bad this food was... I feel like I've been to miso before and don't remember disliking it so something must have happened. The Mongolian beef was so dry and tough it was like beef jerky tossed in teriyaki sauce. The combination fried rice had the same beef jerky, tasted like old chicken and decent shrimp but the worst part about it was the enormous amount of onions. I love onions but the rice to onion ratio must have been equal. It needed a bit more seasoning as well. The seaweed salad was good but I'm assuming this is bought and not made in house. Quality seemed good, but I am accustomed to eating raw sushi very cold. The salmon sashimi and the Philly roll were both room temp...not sure if that's intentional, and I've been eating sushi incorrectly all my life, or if that's an issue, but in my mind, you want raw fish very cool. I ordered three things, and when I picked it up, asked if soy sauce was in the bag. They said it was, but they only gave me one packet. Turns out I didn't even use it all, but I don't like a lot of soy sauce on my sushi....if you do, make sure you request extra. Would definitely go back. read more

We had driven by miso a million times and had never eaten there. After covid we stumbled across it via door dash and have been nothing other than impressed! Despite covid, they nailed to go orders and cranked them out quickly, hot and fresh. After we were able to go dine in we were even more impressed with the service. Tonight, they further raised the bar of service when we picked up an order. They were prompt, thoughtful, our food was out in 15 min to the dot! Cannot recommend them enough.
