I have really enjoyed myself each time I've eaten at Miso. Their menu is a nice size... plenty to choose from, but not an overwhelming amount of rolls or entrees. I feel like many sushi spots have page after page of rolls, each given a special name, with maybe only one small ingredient variation from the last roll. This can be tiring and cause a bit of the old analysis paralysis, especially at a new spot. My daughter loves the yakisoba noodles. My son is a big fan of the bento boxes... cali rolls, some tempura, an entree, and more. My wife and I are fans of the Go Green, Hot Nights, and Hawaii rolls. The interior is comfy and peaceful. Even if they have an hour wait time they somehow always get you in way quciker than anticipated. Their food is always top notch and it's delivered to your table in record time. The staff is always very pleasant and their customer service is great. The atmosphere is always very calm, it's never very loud but it's not unnaturally quiet either. Have gone here a couple of times and is my new favorite Sushi place. The building used to be Sushi Ya but is under new ownership. Sushi and Sashimi is ultra fresh and tasty. The owner was telling me how he gets the best fish before the other places, I can tell by how yummy it is! Wonderful new sushi joint that took over the former Sushi Spot! The prices are still reasonable (which was Sushi Spot's big draw) but I think the food options are much better. This month is my birthday and my husband and I wanted to celebrate it early by going out to get our favorite food, sushi. I looked on Yelp and saw Miso Sushi was a fairly new place with a lot of great reviews. The pictures of the food looked really good as well as the menu so thought we'd try it. I'm so glad we did, it was delicious! Very fresh and tasty fish with unique rolls that are fresh as well and not overly saucy (just the right amount of sauce). They gave us miso soup which was great, the flavor was perfect not too salty and the tofu was melt in your mouth. They gave us edamame too which is a nice touch since not all sushi places provide that. I got Hana Fuji apple flavored sake which was very tasty too. We ordered the sushi & sashimi which was very fresh and good cuts of fish. We also ordered the Fantastic roll which lives up to it's name, it has spicy yellowtail (which I've never had before, most places have just spicy tuna) inside topped with fresh yellowtail, jalepeno, and a dot of Sriracha. Finally, we got the Miso Special roll which was my favorite! Topped with a variety of fresh fish +tobiko with spicy tuna, shrimp tempura (added some good crunch), and avocado on the inside. Whatever sauce it was topped with was good too and not overbearing at all. The waitress gave us fried Oreos for dessert which was a perfect end to an amazing meal. Went here with some co-workers for dinner and I'm glad we did. The customer service was some of the best I've had at any place. They bought out complimentary app samples that were large enough to share and were attentive to anything you needed throughout service. The sushi choices were unique and very fresh. Whaaaaa! Can't believe this place is so good! I was worried when they replaced the existing sushi restaurant that moved out that it wouldn't be any good. We walked in and could slightly recognize it but it's much brighter and more inviting. The sushi chefs welcomed us all together and we were quickly seated. The menu was clear and concise. It gets old seeing sushi menus where it's full of basically the same things just slightly different combos. This place is the TOTAL opposite. They had fresh takes and all your favorite originals. And the price! Wow, definitely lower than most sushi places of this caliber I've seen in town. Meals come with salad and miso soup. We also ordered the garlic edamame which was a total game changer. Our food was delivered out super fast. My Philadelphia roll consisted of 8 pieces with an amazing portion of protein. For $10! Easily the best deal in town. Everything was so well made and so ridiculously fresh. My Rock and Roll was a unique take and wrapped in cucumber instead of rice and had incredible portions of proteins involved, too. My husband ordered the Sashimi and Sushi Dinner and we were blown away by the portion size and value for the price. The fish were beautiful, clean and super fresh. They weren't taken over by large amounts of rice. Their customer service so so nice and so attentive. The meal is finished off by the juiciest carved orange you'll ever find in Alaska. I ordered 3 orders of sashimi. The were poorly cut and packaged. The yellowtail was grey and rolled to disguise the poor cutting. I paid $26 for these 6 measly pieces of fish. And!!! Wow! This place is amazing. The service is so very attentive, we always had full drinks and they were constantly checking in with us. The food was amazing and came out very quickly and it was piping hot. The sushi rolls we ordered tasted fresh and their selection on the menu was creative without overloading with too many options. Hands down the best sushi place in town. I came from southern california and my standard for sushi is high. Their sushi is more of authentic style, with fresh fish and deeper flavor. So if you are expecting fusion style sushi roll with lots of rice, you may not like this place. However, if you want fresh sushi, sashimi or rolls with less rice, this is your go-to place! One of my favorite dish is salmon skin salad. Everything else is really good. I go here at least once a week once I found out about this place. Their spicy seafood noodle soup (jjam bbong) is the best one in town as well. I tried their chisashi bowl, different types of nigiri and sushi rolls, garlic edamame, etc and can't wait to try other dishes. Also, check out their sake selection. I tried their fruit sake (Fuji apple is my favorite) and premium sake "Junmai daijinjo" and these are hands down the best sake I've tried so far and price is fair as well. Fruit sake is more for women, and I enjoyed it very well as a woman. Overall, I like their interiors, fresh foods and drink selection. Friendly and efficient servers are plus!
