There has been a lot of hype with this place because of their decently priced soufflé pancakes. I finally had the chance to try it today. The pancakes were very soft and delicious, but I have been quite spoiled by the ones in Japan, so there wasn't much of a wow factor here for me. I would still recommend that you come and try one for the experience. I ordered the Original Soufflé Pancake, which comes with 3 pancakes and some cream. Fluffy and soft and simply delicious. I also ordered the Earl Grey Milk Tea. Milk teas usually taste too sweet to me with 100% sweetness at these boba places, but this place had it perfectly sweetened. The Earl Grey was really fragrant and the milk did not compromise that at all. This place is very quaint and cute, with plenty of seating for hangouts, dates, or even studying. We called to ask if we could pre order the souffle pancakes. They said yes so we do. They asked how far away we were and I said 10-15 minutes and they said ok, we'll start it now because it takes 20 minutes. We get here, and I pay. And wait. By the time it's been 30+ minutes since we called and about 15+ minutes since we've paid, I ask if our order is almost ready. No. Why? Because they didn't actually put the order in til we came here and paid for it. This is why I hate tipping before service is actually delivered. Not only this place has the most annoying branding but also with the most disgusting cheeseballs. The fries were okay, not great, but the cheeseballs tasted like the cook fried his own balls and served with some sugar cane on top for the extra stale flavor. The drink I got was the Oreo brûlée matcha, it was good! Definitely on the sweeter side so just keep that in mind. Finally got to try this place with my family! Came here on a Sunday afternoon. The staffs were friendly and helpful! I've always wanted to try their soufflé pancakes and it did not disappoint. Maybe it's the hype, but we pretty much enjoyed nothing here. First of all, I think it's best to remind everyone that the fluffy pancakes are souffles. Which means, they are have a lot of egg in them. So, what you're eating, will have a very strong egg taste to it, as cute and delicious as they look. That said, we didn't love our experience. The place is pretty grungy. It's not very clean or well-maintained. I feel like bathrooms are a good indicator of how clean a restaurant is and the bathrooms here were a disaster. Everything was broken and it didn't look like it had been cleaned for several days. And then of course in the restaurant seating area, the random posters taped to the walls and the weird stains running down the pillars just were a total turn-off for us. As for the food, we would have appreciated a little direction from the guys behind the counter. They clearly didn't care much for our business as they were very unhelpful. We asked for a variety to our order. We ended up with a boba drink and fluffy pancake dish that essentially tasted the same, just in different form, which was very annoying. Had been waiting to be in the area to see if these souffles were more than instagram worthy. Arriving soon after they opened (12 noon), we were their first customers for the day and this had its perk. The seating area although small is pleasant and clean. The decor is also super cute and appealing to the eye. We ordered the strawberry and the banana chocolate souffles. In addition, we also ordered a jasmine ice tea and an iced coffee. Souffles are made to order and although we knew the waiting time could be long, we certainly did not feel it. Both orders consisted of 3 souffles each with their respective toppings and plated very attractively to our palettes. Our taste buds were pampered with the most exquisite fluffy bundle of perfection. I would have wished the strawberries were sweeter but even their tartness was offset by the slight sweetness of the souffle. I trully prefer the banana souffle. The drinks were also super tasty. I must say I opted for a cheese topping on my coffee that seemed odd at first, but was super delicious. Now I know the aforementioned does not reflect the 3 stars I have given this place but this is where it went a bit downhill for me. Halfway into the dessert, my husband tells me the only thing he disliked was the lack of washing the dishes they use between orders. What he meant is blenders are only rinsed and there is no dish soap used. And while that is not as bad, he also mentioned the attendant had licked a spoon and placed it into the same sink while never washing it post use. Now, I don't know about you but all I though about thereafter was the disgusting mouth bacteria lingering on that spoon and wondering if it would get washed or just rinsed and re-used. I was somewhat relieved knowing we were the first customers that day but it left me thinking if dishes used to prep our meal had been washed with soap the previous night. Omg the souffles here are breathtaking! It's so soft and fluffy. It's not too sweet, but just right. We got the Souffle Banana Chocolate souffle after much debate because we couldn't decide. The store Is set up very nice and clean. As soon as you walk into the cafe, the smell of yummy goodness smacks you in the face. Everything is made fresh to order. The staff behind the counter was nice and sweet. When my drink was ready, she personally walked it over to my corner table instead of just calling out my name to go pickup like most tea shop places, so that was really nice of her. I've been here a twice with 2 different friends to enjoy the trendy "souffle pancakes" they serve here. Miss Cheese Tea Cafe is located on a little corner, so parking is a bit of a mess, but there is plenty of street parking if you're willing to have a small walk. The free parking structure next to it isn't very spacious either but you can give it a try. The cafe itself isn't super big, it's a small cafe with a few tables to sit and enjoy. The aesthetic of the shop is really cute and bright. The sign is pretty small too so you might miss it if you aren't paying attention. Both times, I was greeted when we walked in, and given recommendations as we looked over the menu. We all agreed on trying the brown sugar boba souffle pancakes (Lava Flow boba souffle). I also ordered a Jasmine Green Cheezo Tea aka Jasmine green tea with cheese foam during my first visit. The cheese foam was pretty good, but it wasn't something that I felt stood out to me. It was rich and thick, but seemed like average for standard cheese foam. The tea itself was fragrant and sweet, which was a good balance with the thick foam. The Lava Flow Boba souffle took a little bit both times I ordered it because they were making it fresh. The server told us it would take about 20 mins the first time and the 2nd time I was here, it took 30 mins because there were orders ahead of us and they said it was to make sure it was made to order. I wasn't in any rush, but it was still a wait. The pancakes were delicious! It tasted like a cloud. The sweet and chewy boba was a fun topping to the pancakes. The brown sugar syrup was a great complement to the fluffy eggy taste. I do have to say though, as much as this was tasty, I feel like it is just a trend. Came here one night after date night with my husband and bought our dog with us. They only have 1 table for outside sitting and of course it was occupied so my husband ask the owner if it's ok we sit by the door inside the store since we have a dog and he said it's okay. He even ask if we need a bowl of water for our dog to drink. We ordered the chocolate pancake. It was really good and soft. I never had something like this before and it tastes very different compared to the traditional pancakes. My husband is not a big fan because it was too soft for him. The boba was unevenly sized, flavorless....little mushy balls of sadness. I would hope that maybe this was just a bad batch of boba or something. There also wasn't enough boba in the drink, ran out like halfway through - Thai brûlée milk tea: also no. Again, watered down version of thai tea with pudding/flan type topping. Total misnomer to call it brûlée, my husband was excited to see it on the menu because he was expecting maybe a caramelized topping...like a creme brûlée :( The name should be changed! They blend it with Oreo cookie chunks at the bottom which makes it look good but hard to consume through a straw at the end. The jasmine green tea cheezo could be improved; the cheese foam on top had a salty yogurt-y flavor that didn't have the same buttery rich feeling that cheese foam usually tastes like. I love when restaurants and cafes step outside of the box. Well Miss Cheese Tea Cafe stepped way out. I was driving by when their menu board and decided to try some of their stuff. I walked in and first of all the place looked so cute. Love the gold accented stools and chairs. It was very bright and welcoming. The cafe was busy but not too busy and the workers were working hard to get orders out. I glanced at the menu and decided to go with the mango yogurt drink they have. Looked so refreshing. I also got the soufflé waffle with boba on top. Yes boba on top of the soufflé waffle (See I told you they were stepping outside of the box). They did notify me that the soufflé will take about 20 minutes since even the batter is made when it's ordered. Talk about freshness. I was completely fine with that. However my mango yogurt drink was ready in no time and wow it was so delicious. It was not too sweet, and very mango like which I love. It was very refreshing. At last, the soufflé waffle was out and wow wow wow! It was so cool to even see boba on top of a waffle. It was so fluffy and giggly and airy. I sliced into it and it was like clicking into a pillow. Came here with a friend for a late night boba run. This is what we ordered: * Mango Tornado - This one was the best! Basically a yummy mango smoothie with mango pieces * Matcha with strawberry - Kind of a bland matcha flavor with strawberry bits. It depended on whether you got a piece strawberry in your sip. I was hoping for a stronger matcha and strawberry flavor * Brown Sugar Dirty Milk - I felt this was...just ok? I wouldn't say it was the best but it wasn't terrible. The boba I received in the drink felt like mini bobas with various big boba pieces. It was kind of throwing me off while I was drinking it. My 3 star rating may littttleeee harsh. I would give it 3.5 if I could. Out of the 3 we got, I only liked 1 of them. The menu is also a little small as well but I will give this place another chance to try their desserts and other drinks. As much as I don't really enjoy writing negative reviews, it's been a long time since I've encountered a tea place so far below my standards that I felt like I needed to do this. First of all, my Taiyaki had a giant hole in the middle. Second...I don't know how it was so giant, because it was so small to begin with. The taiyaki also had very little filling in it. Next, their "cheese foam" was lacking in taste. Like, even a little bit of flavor would've been so much better but I tried two different drinks and both had no flavor in the foam. I'm not sure if we just went on a bad day or if MCTC is normally like this. Based on all of the reviews, I feel like I need to give this place a second chance. But it might be a while since there are so many great places around home. read more
