Wonderful food, but terrible service! We were greeted by a hostess who was very sweet and she even took our coats. We felt very welcomed! Mauricio introduced himself as our waiter, gave us water, and then never came back to our table. When someone else finally came over to take our drink orders, she did not look happy to be there or help us. All of our food came out at once. We loved the fried chicken and sauces, wood grilled oysters, dirty rice, gumbo (dark roux was great!), sweet potato bread, and baked Alaska. You can skip the Caesar as it was unremarkable. I found a small piece of glass in the dirty rice, but it was not sharp. I honestly didn't alert them because I felt the waitress wouldn't have cared and that would have put a damper on my evening. We waited a LONG time to get the check and almost got up to find someone to help. We even had to track someone down to get our coats. Overall we received food worthy of the Four Seasons, but the service was worse than at a chain sit down restaurant. We didn't let it ruin our night but will go to Saba next time to get Alon's delicious food.

Me, my wife came to visit New Orleans, which is our favorite food location before the New Year. We decided to stay at the Four Seasons a couple of days because they just opened recently. Got in kinda late so we decided to have something to eat at the restaurant in the hotel. For New Orleans to have such a great reputation and for so many wonderful food locations here this place was extremely disappointing. First of all the server was terrible. She was rude and she was very unhelpful. Secondly I ordered the blackened snapper. It came out with absolutely no seasoning on it for it to be called blackened and let me remind you we are in New Orleans. The oysters were not good and the gumbo was terrible and that is shocking to say seeing how we are in New Orleans, but the gumbo was some of the worst gumbo I've ever had. So overall, this might have been one of the worst food experiences, but absolutely the worst food experience I've ever had in New Orleans, so needless to say we would not ever visit this location again and I feel like they need to get a local Chef that understands the cuisine and flavors that the city is known for especially being in the Four Seasons you expect a certain level and it's just not there. Let me say that while walking around the manager did stop by to check on our table which we told them about the issues and to her credit she did go and address it in the kitchen, she said, and she also removed the gumbo and the oysters from our meal, which we had finished Food 0/5 Service 0/5 Atmosphere 3/5 Manager 5/5 Return Factor 0/5

Amazing! Our waitress was amazing! I'm the restaurant is beautiful. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. Very pricey but everything we ate was fabulous. The duck gumbo was soooooooooooo good. Dark roux and a little spicy. Perfect. I would definitely go again.

The restaurant was amazing, and the presentation of each dish was beautiful. The cozy, lowkey ambiance made it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal, and the service was on point. Every dish I tried (photos below) was chef's kiss! My friends cleared their plates before I could snap photos, but they had the salmon and said it was incredible too!

Recently went to the Safta x Uchi garden series center in Denver, so thought it would be a nice juxtaposition to try one of Alon Shaya's restaurants while I was in New Orleans! Went for the coolinary lunch which was a great deal! The set menu was Emily's red beans and rice + fried chicken, with a beignet for dessert. This may be the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life! Perfectly seasoned, tender hot and juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. Very upscale vibe, inside the Four Seasons, with intriguing decor in the restaurant entry area, and a picturesque chandelier bar outside.

Food was delicious! I had the crab meat Alma and it was full of crab meat. They definitely didn't hold back. I had the flaming espresso martini, and it was a very cool experience & delicious. Ambiance was amazing. Service was incredible. They went above and beyond. It's definitely pricey. Definitely a one of a kind dining experience especially during the holidays.

Great ambience and excellent service. Our waiter was honestly the highlight of the experience. He was so attentive and personable from start to finish. I did have mixed feelings about the food. The blackened snapper had great potential, it was cooked perfectly with the crispiest skin, but the skin was entirely too salty so I couldn't eat it. The sweet potato brioche was pretty good I just personally wished it was a bit sweeter. Creamed spinach was excellent. The fries were just okay, but they come in a large serving so if you're looking to split something it's a good pick. In terms of dessert, the beignets were too dense, but they do come with a nice cream sauce. And the chocolate doberge cake was pretty tasty, it comes with a scoop of lemon ice cream which pairs nicely, but be mindful that it's more of a classic chocolate cake rather than a traditional doberge cake.

Recently traveled to NOLA on a birthday trip and Miss River was one of our dinners. Sat outside since it was beautiful weather, and we basically had the entire space to ourselves. Very relaxing space. Service was very attentive, excellent food presentation and delicious as well! They gave us champagne for our birthday, which was super nice! For food, I tried the vegetarian green curry with crab added. It was SO good, but i think the rice portion could be bigger, as that was gone well before the curry was, but besides that, no complaints. It really felt like five star dining here, and would recommend it if you're in the area.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Miss River, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Matt. From the moment we were seated, he made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Matt did an outstanding job explaining the tasting menu--he was knowledgeable, clear, and genuinely enthusiastic, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. He answered all of our questions with ease and helped guide us through each course perfectly. In addition to his great personality and expertise, Matt was incredibly efficient and attentive throughout the meal. The pacing was spot-on, and when it came time for the check, everything was handled quickly and smoothly without feeling rushed. His professionalism and attention to detail truly stood out. We couldn't have asked for better service and will absolutely be back--hopefully with Matt as our server again!

My husband and I came here for the first time for our first year wedding anniversary. We wanted something upscale but also different so we decided to try here. The aesthetics of this restaurant is beautiful as it is on the first level of the four seasons hotel in downtown New Orleans. Our server Ryan was amazing and he let us know that the owner of the restaurant was very big on marriage so they gave us a complementary round of Prosecco. They also gave us a complementary dessert and fruit plate at the end of our meal. Everything was fresh and amazing especially the Boudin. Will definitely recommend and come back for another special occasion! The manager Jamal also came to speak to us and congratulate us! So sweet!!

Our brunch at Miss River was decent, but not anything extraordinary. Live jazz, beautiful decor, and overall great food. For the price point though, it met expectations for me and did not exceed them. The flashy drinks were cool - a BYO Bloody Mary bar and an espresso martini tableside fire show. It's fun for the experience but nothing special. The food was really good - loved the shrimp and grits and the pancakes! I would skip the beignets and ham. 3.5 but rounding up because of our amazing server!

For the 2 people who have read my reviews, you'll see that I went back to the Four Seasons (my first dinner there was at Chemin a la Mer on the 5th floor). This time we hit the ground floor restaurant, Miss River. It's slightly more casual than upstairs and has a great patio with a wood fired pizza oven. Service was obviously perfect (again, Four Seasons). I didn't end up snapping a pic of all the dishes because I was with clients and they were lighting me up any time I whipped my phone out. We started with an oil drum's worth of bbq shrimp and one of the salads (can't remember which one but it doesn't matter, it's salad). The shrimp was better than at Chemin a la Mer, which means to say it was outstanding compared to just excellent. The piece de resistance (goes to New Orleans once) was the main course. The redfish was served in a stew of oysters, crawfish, shrimp, and the holy trinity (what I can only assume is the nectar of the gods). It was so good the only thing holding me back from doing cartwheels around the room were the clients sitting across from me. I got Emily's famous rice and beans as a side and was practically delirious by the time my plates were cleared. Don't sleep on the redfish if you're a seafood fan. Top 10 things I've ever consumed. Finished with some desert and called it a night. I wish Yelp would let me give this a 4.5. Chemin a la Mer has a higher rating but, gun to my head I would choose Miss River over it. Best move is to just cancel your flight and go to both.

Really enjoyed Miss River. The service was phenomenal and the food was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The restaurant was on the darker side but not too bad. Everyone was very nice and the decor was tasteful. You even get to name the chicken which we thought was kinda funny. Check it out if you want a nice upscale vibe.

We will be traveling to NOLA in a couple of weeks and have reservations for their jazz brunch? What is their dress code? So I know what to pack for the kids too.

Neat casual would be fine, but I recommend going to jazz brunch somewhere else because Miss River's food is mediocre at best and extremely overpriced... Very unusual for this town!

Two questions: How expensive is Miss River? (I see they don't list their prices on their menu) and What is the dress code?

Dress: Miss River is a very nice restaurant in a Four Seasons Hotel. Price: $75.00+pp plus drinks.

Their awesome customer service actually started before we stepped into the place. A tropical storm was coming the night of our original reservations and their staff accommodated us for another night. They were very understanding then and even when we had to again change plans due to the weather. We went from a party of eight to five. Every single one of us thought the meal and service were outstanding. I have a gluten allergy and Joey handled it very well, making adjustments where he could so that I could still enjoy the dishes. The table split the Seafood Platter which came with a Smoked Tuna Dip, Smoked Drum Dip, Gulf Shrimp, Seafood Salad, and Raw Oysters. We also split the Steak Tartare. Supplemental crackers and toast hit the table. I was so pleasantly surprised that they provided me with cucumber slices to transport the tartare and dips to my mouth! The fish dips, Seafood Salad, and Steak Tartare were outstanding. We were recommended the Steak Tartare by friends and we definitely agree it's a winner. For cocktails, we started with Old Fashions and I had the Mother of Pearl made with both gin and vodka and dill. I was reluctant at first because I don't like gin but I'm glad I decided it give it a try because it was refreshing. I later switched to a Dirty Martini. For entrees, we tried to split the daily special Cobia Fish dish but unfortunately they sold out so they replaced it with another fish. We also had the Grilled Tuna. For sides we got the Seafood Gumbo, Fried Oysters made gluten free, Fried Okra which was gluten free and made with cornmeal and then also the Brussel Sprouts. Both sides were so good especially the Brussel Sprouts with the Chili Sauce. The Asian fusion on all the dishes were not over powering and was a true highlight. We loved the Fried Oysters so much, we had a second order. Thank you for making them gluten free! I can't remember what desserts we got but everyone enjoyed them. The pictures look pretty. I think it was Key Lime Pie, Sticky Toffee Pudding with Cream Cheese Ice Cream, and Ice Cream. I only tasted the ice creams and they were yummy. We're so happy we finally had a chance to enjoy a meal at Peche. We've heard for years that we had to have dinner here. Joey made the meal extra special. Overall service is great from them picking up dirty dishes, refilling glasses, to bringing us little wipes after eating the seafood with our fingers.

As soon as they arrived, I picked one up and immediately thought, "Wow, this is incredibly light." Anyone who eats crabs regularly knows that's usually a bad sign. When I opened it, it was completely hollow inside--nothing but an empty shell. A crab that is hollow like that was dead before it was cooked. I never took a single bite. I showed it to our server, Remy B., who apologized and said she would let the manager know. She took the plate away, so I assumed the issue was being handled. When the bill arrived, I was still charged for the crabs. I asked to speak with a manager and explained exactly what happened. She confirmed that I had notified the server and that the plate had been taken away. Then she told me that it didn't matter because their policy is to not give refunds or remove food from a check. Let that sink in: they acknowledged that I didn't eat the food, acknowledged that the server removed it, and still charged me for it. A restaurant standing behind its food is the bare minimum. Charging customers for food that was clearly unacceptable and never eaten is ridiculous. The lack of concern from management was even more disappointing than the crab itself. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because the young man at the host stand was friendly, professional, and the one bright spot of the entire experience.
