Mission BBQ was a BBQ delight for a foodie like me. I asked for the softest meat and was recommended the brisket. It was so succulent soft. It had a melt in your mouth texture. The most lovely mouth food orgasm I ever had for BBQ. I ate every bite in every kind of BBQ sauce they had. My green beans were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. I am still thinking of going back for more brisket to go, so I can eat it with rice. My friends seemed very satisfied with their food too. Visiting family in Clarksville wanted some BBQ. Ok here goes. Give this place 5 stars for the theme. As a veteran and retired Police Officer I enjoyed the ambiance. There are two terms that come to mind. 1: All hat and no cattle. Four adults and three children and ALL of the meat was dry as a paper sack and cold. Thank goodness there was sauce at the table. Very little smoke flavor. 2: Its like french kissing your Gramma. You got a kiss but it was your Gramma. Food was BBQ but... you get it!! Would never recommend this place. It's been a long time since I've been to the location in Clarksville, and most likely won't go back to any of their locations. The food is ok but is terribly expensive. The portions were a pretty hefty size but I don't go to a restaurant to eat food for 2-3 people. Sharing with someone to avoid buying multiple entrées, sides, and drinks? Sure, but they watch out for that in order to discourage it. It's a counter service place that expects you to pay when you order - that's fine - but also expects you to tip on food/service you haven't received yet. read more

Needed some food after visiting Old Glory Distilling and Mission hit the spot. The food was good, but the service was even better! They are even better here than our one in Fayetteville NC. Hot, tasty, amazing. I love how the lift the To Go box lid to show/confirm your food before bagging it. We were VERY happy to see great portions of our brisket and my husbands pulled pork sandwich was piled so high it could have been TWO sandwiches! Only complaint, I asked if they had pickle slices. The said not sure (?) but checked a fridge and pulled out a small To Go cup with lid! Score! However at home I discovered it only contained 3 small slices (LOL). read more

MISSION BBQ Disappointing in your online ordering system.... I made my order at 3PM today to pick up at 5PM. I even called to ensure the order went through at 3PM. To only be disappointed when I go pick up my order at 5PM to be told there are no ribs and that it would take 2 hours for them. I get asked if I want a substitute. I say no I wanted the ribs I ordered two hours ago to be picked up now .... The manager blamed the online system ..... Here's a thought review your orders when they come in online and make the preparation in advance. Wow! I was not expecting a barbecue chain to be this good. It's more cookie cutter than a hole in the wall barbecue joint but that's okay, because they're consistently good. We tried it out on Veterans Day since they were offering free sandwiches to veterans. My husband and I each got a sandwich and sides. We left so incredibly full and happy and eager to return, and now we've been about three additional times And it's barely even December. The pulled pork is wonderful, the sandwich portion is extremely generous. The meat is cooked to perfection and they never give you the super fatty bits like some places do, which makes for a pretty awesome sandwich. The different sauces on the table are really good and it's fun to mix them up and try them all. The brisket is also super delicious. We've had it as the sandwich and as the plate, both generous portions. The baked beans are absolutely delicious, they are cooked with brisket. The green beans are amazing. The Mac and cheese is amazing. The corn bread is delicious. The hand cut fries are yummy. The only side I have been disappointed with is the cold slaw, which fell a little flat. It's not bad, but doesn't have as much flair as the other sides. Every time I've gone to Mission the staff has been super helpful and polite. I'm excited for the next time I'm down there and can hop in for a meal, I'm going to keep trying more and more meats from their menu. All around great experience. read more

Until I arrived in Clarksville, I'd never heard of the Mission BBQ chain, but for a chain BBQ restaurant, it's pretty good. I hesitate to call it a BBQ Joint as the interior certainly had that overdone chain restaurant feel. I tried the three meat sampler with beef brisket, pulled pork, and turkey; I also ordered two sides: mac and cheese and green beans. Since I'd never ate there, one of the employees recommended I try the Tupelo Honey and Memphis Belle bbq sauce, after I gave her my preference for spicy and sweet. The brisket, pork, and turkey were cooked well if not a little underwhelming, although the brisket was dry, the turkey and pork were entirely tender. I didn't notice much smokiness to the three types of meat, but when I realized the place was a chain, I had already tempered my expectations. The baked mac and cheese-y cheesiness were delicious, and I'm sure even children would enjoy the green beans with tasty chunks of bacon. While I thoroughly enjoyed the Tupelo, I found the Memphis sauce to have a touch too much vinegar; still, both were good. Overall, I'd certainly eat here again and would recommend it to the less adventurous BBQ eater, or if you're looking to satisfy a meat craving quickly. I will also recommend that if you're on the search for a more genuine bbq experience, go to a smaller more focused establishment where the owner/pitmaster has a more significant investment in the quality of their product. read more
