Looks like I hadn't been to this location in quite a bit. Decided on brisket. I am glad I got a mix of lean and fatty, as the fatty was too fat. Love the fries! I got to have the remainder of my wife's salmon which was great! Because of my military service, the peach cobbler was on the house.

You can't wrong with Mission for a quick and very tasty BBQ meal. Service is always friendly and it's fast casual style so you don't have to wait long at all for your food. The food was enjoyable as always with the lean brisket cooked just right and the turkey was tender without being too dry. The collard greens and green beans were both on point and the tea was solid as always. Be sure and try their various sauces, I like them all except the white sauce that's made with Mayo and is an abomination to BBQ. Unfortunately, the cornbread piece was a little smaller than usual and not quite fresh but it was serviceable. I've never had a bad meal at Mission and I'll come back here again for sure.

Moist brisket: 10/10 So tender and so good Corn bread: 10/10 Fluffy clouds Green beans: 10/10 Mac and cheese: 10/10 They can't do anything wrong in my book!

We came here after a wonderful leg day. I've been to Mission BBQ at the mall, but never a location like this. This was definitely bigger. As soon as we walked in, the staff behind the counter shouted some sorta greeting, which was so unexpected, so I don't know what they said LOL. I appreciate the effort though. I was busy ooh-ing and aah-ing all the decoration while walking up to the counter. I wanted to go ham and eat a lot, but instead ordered the pulled pork sandwich, KC style. My friend ordered the 2-meat sampler with a side of cole slaw. The prices were pretty decent compared to surrounding restaurants. They weren't busy at all when we came, so that's a plus, especially because we came so late. I love the little drawers that had all the condiments, toothpicks, lids, etc. They were neatly stocked and labeled. The one thing I didn't like were the wipes...they had a nice lemon scent at first, then smelled like damp laundry that didn't fully dry and developed a smell. There is plenty of parking, shared with surrounding businesses. Would I return? For sure, if I'm in the area and craving the food.

Mission BBQ - canNOT beat their mission and love of and honor to our veterans! Friend and I wanted BBQ - specifically Mission's BBQ (THE BEST around) - for lunch today totally forgetting (honest to god) that today was Veteran's Day! We were in the area of this Fairfax loc running errands and only when we parked and saw the vets out front and customers streaming in did we realize we were hitting this place on "their day." Proud WW vets in uniform were outside the front doors giving each customer walking in a red poppy flower to wear. Touching. We arrived around 2PM so it was beyond lunch rush but the place as expected for the holiday was packed. The line to order ebbed and flowed - sometimes reaching all the way back to the front entrance. But the workers at all the cash registers cleared out lines in no time. THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT. Our order (5 Bone Baby Back Rib & Traditional Pulled Pork Sando both XXL Combos) came out piping hot and fresh in short order. Impressive. This was our first time to THIS Mission BBQ loc - we have been to many other locs - and this loc didn't disappoint. Definitely will be back here. The food at Mission is consistently delicious. PRICES ARE SUPER FAIR FOR WHAT YOU GET. PORTION SIZES ARE LARGE. The BBQ is cooked right there behind the ordering counter in those HUGE METAL SMOKERS. It doesn't get any more fresh than that. The workers are alllll great, bar none. Friendly, all smiles, willing to go the extra mile. "No" is not in their vocabulary. In this current economy where we're all sleuthing for places where our hard earned dollar can go the distance and deliver value, Mission is THE place. You won't walk out hungry, that's for sure. If you've never been and are a BBQ fan - GOOOOOOOOOOO.

I can't believe how fast the food came out. The food was ready within a few minutes after I ordered. The second time I went to order and the guy had it ready as soon as I paid. When food comes out that fast, you gotta respect it. There was also a nice selection of sauce to pick from. The amount of meat for the price was okay, and the quality was good. Plenty of seating for small and large groups. Has a classy interior with wooden tables and chairs - very American. Plenty of shared parking in the area too.

Nice spot. I stopped by here on a whim, after working out at the nearby gym in the Fairfax area -- I go to Orange Theory fitness. To be honest, it was a dreary Friday afternoon, just about as dreary as it gets. Rain pour the entire day, a constant pitter-patter, mingling with sweat in my case. I remember I was wearing a casual t-shirt and workout shorts, a light jacket on top (not waterproof, that would be the dream). Hanging out in the vast and near-deserted P-lot outside, it was drizzling with a consistent intensity, and meanwhile I was searching on Google Maps for nearby BBQ spots. Well, I was just in luck, because I found one that looked cool -- called none other than Mission BBQ -- and aw, look at that, 'twas walking distance to boot, as well. I ran it briefly over on my head, and shrugged and said why not, let's refill all those calories I just burned, because why not. Neat little jog there, less than a minute, and at the door I was presented by this sign -- they honor vets and those that served in the armed forces, on a rotational basis throughout the week, so for example the Navy gets a free 'wich on Tuesdays, the Air Force & Marines another day, and so forth down the merry little road. I promptly went in, almost no line, and a friendly dude behind the counter clad in a police officer's uniform -- at least I beheld it as such -- took my order without further ado. I noted that it was my first time here, and so the meat sampler was suggested to me, as it embodied the "best of both worlds" kind of deal. I said why not, and so I ended up going for that, with the brisket and the spare ribs -- dry rubbed, I think it was called, spices on it but no bbq sauce on top -- and on the sides, corn bread and a peach cobbler, for the dessert item. Now I'm not sure if normally comes with the peach cobbler, or if I was just granted leniency being as it was my first time and all, but either way I'm glad it worked out like that. I filled in a glass of water, and in less than two minutes my lunch dish I had ordered was already ready. I blinked in surprise as I went to pick it up, but honestly that is really blazing fast service for ribs at any joint, probably the fastest I've ever seen so far. Well done on the timing side, I'd say. The ribs and brisket were both equally great, and can't say enough good things about them. On an initial inspection -- I guess you could call that a "first pass" -- they seemed nothing special, certainly smaller quantities as they weren't full-fledged entrees, but you'd be surprised by how filling the meat can be. I know that I certainly was. Part of the reason why I'll give this the full stars is the presentation, speed of service, included dessert on the side (which was pretty great by the way) and additionally the house BBQ sauces, a neat row and two-columns worth of them, that were stacked nicely on mine and every other table that I could see. The BBQ sauces were just splendid, and really added a lot to the flavor, as well as to the childlike enjoyment of trying new tastes and flavors, just for the heck of trying something new and great-tasting, because like why the heck would you opt to pass on something good like that, one of the few times it swings by your way. I don't know the answer to that, and I don't expect any others to, so I'll just leave it at that rather than elaborate or wax eloquent on that at any considerable and reasonable length. So there's that, and let's put it to rest for now. Anyways, I tried the house bbq sauces, knocked 'em all out so to say, so here's a few of my personal favorites: Bay-B-Que (dry 'n hot), Tupelo Honey Heat (sweet and tangy like honey, with a kicker 'n sucker punch), and the Smoky Mountain (thick 'n rich like smoked meat on a hiking trail, kind of like the Grand Smokies I visited a while back, back when the thick of the fog or mist hung low and obscured the general visibility of things, but contributed to the ambiance of the outing by a sufficient measure). I will say, I especially liked mixing 'em all together, they tasted really well with the ribs which were rather dry and bland by their own. They helped stand up and illuminate an otherwise solid dish that didn't have a whole lotta flavor on its own, I guess is one way to put it. Overall, awesome spot here at the Mission BBQ. The fact that they cater to and respect those that serve, and especially local heroes such as policemen and firefighters among others, is uplifting and great and I say more power to them, but to be honest it's kind of lost on common folk such as (you and) me, who aren't exactly blue-collar, even though that's respectable and noteworthy in and of itself. Long story short, let's cut the grain short here, and say this is a respectable, quality BBQ joint in the heart of Fairfax, with high-quality meat and a plethora of house BBQ sauces. I liked it much, and for the price point it was outstanding quality. I'll recommend and will likely be back myself, once again.

Great BBQ? Moving the family to South Riding in a few weeks and Mission BBQ is on our list of must do eateries. I heard great things. God bless the USA and Mission BBQ!

100% best BBQ in the area! Willards is okay but I prefer Mission. If you want to try Willards they also have a location in Reston, and (IMO) the 2nd best BBQ place is Mookies in Great Falls!

The chips and guacamole was enjoyable. Nothing special about the chips but they did the job, The guacamole was very tasty and a large enough portion to fill all the chips. The tacos here are a must try! The Taco El Vis is a tribute to the King himself. It's a unique taco I've never seen anywhere else and is smoky bacon, peanut butter, sweet and sour habanero and smoked crema. It might sound odd but it all works together perfectly for a unique and very enjoyable taco. The Sharp Dressed Man is also enjoyable but not quite as unique as El Vis. It has homemade smoked brisket, homemade queso, pico, and crema on a corn tortilla. The sides are worth a try as well. The plantains are perfectly seasoned and freshly fried. The black beans are also hot and fresh though I don't think we got the cojita and pickled onions Drinks are also a hit here. The Tommy's margarita is a tasty basic margarita while the Al Pastor margarita has mezcal, rum, pineapple and smoke bitters for a unique and enjoyable smoky taste. Service is very friendly here and they have a record/music theme with amps in the back and classic rock hits playing. They have a few shuffleboard tables and a vintage Golden Tee machine if you want to play some golf. This place isn't cheap (welcome to Mosaic) but it's an enjoyable spot with tasty food/drinks and awesome service and I'll come here again.

You see, sometimes the quality does matter and quantity is something that is overrated. Meokja Meokja demonstrates that at times quality trumps quantity in Kbbq. The cuts of the meat were all very fresh. I especially enjoyed the beef brisket. It was very tender. A lot of the times at AYCE Kbbq, the beef brisket can be quite dry. Not the case here. The waitress cooked all of our food, which is something I haven't truly appreciated in a while. It does make the food a bit more enjoyable when I don't have to do all the work. This restaurant is not super big. It was already borderline packed despite that we went there right when it opened. My friend told me there is one time they waited almost an hour at 9PM. So I would definitely get here early to avoid a long wait. While I had always been a loyal fan of AYCE Kbbq, I have found myself over the recent years slowly being tipped over towards the a la carte territory. Meokja Meokja has been the tipping point that finally swayed me over. The price here is about the same as AYCE, but with better quality, and I don't feel like trash after finishing the meal. Overall, AYCE Kbbq can be a messy affair, but I felt very clean and satisfied after eating here. A very solid Kbbq meal that I haven't had in a while.

Still, the initial experience of being ignored for so long was frustrating and really took away from the overall experience.
