The BBQ is dry and tasteless. The sides are equally bad. And all of it is over priced in my opinion.

Great pulled pork sandwich with generous portions. Unfortunately when we ordered their frier was down so I couldn't try their tasty looking fries as my side (it apparently came back online several minutes later as another customer walked by with a basket of fresh fries). (Customer service) Young lady at the register was able to answer our questions efficiently. (Atmosphere) A tad bit noisy, very relaxed. And looked very clean which is a plus. There is no doubt this place is a big supporter of the military.Which was pretty cool you do not see places very patriotic nowadays. (FOOD) overall the food was fresh, fries were hot. I had the brisket sandwich which was very good, tender meat. However, I tried the sweet BBQ sauce and wasn't a fan, I will gladly go back and makeup give their another sauces a try. I expect the same great customer service in the middle of the week that I get on a Friday or Saturday night. The cashier tonight was acting as if I should know what dishes come with sides or not and was very sarcastic. I was with my kids and even they thought she lost her mind, the way she was speaking to me. I got charged for something that already came free, asked for the refund and all the while not having recurved the sauce for my shrimp which was getting cold bc I needed the refund. Decided to come give Mission a try. Not sure what the Mission means? A secret mission or a religious mission?? Anyway I was impressed to find the had RC cola!! As usual the cashier was befuddled by my money. She had to ask someone what a .50 piece was and asked someone if they accepted $2 bills?! My wife and I both ordered the pulled pork and I also got the beef brisket. I liked he fact that their meat came with no BBQ sauce on it so you got to put one of their 6 sauces on the sandwich. Sandwiches were good though my wife complained her sandwich was too dry for her tastes. I told her to put some sauce on it. I ordered their strawberry shortcake for dessert and liked that as well. BUT I think I like Smokin' Billy's BBQ better though he is only open on Thursday thru Saturday. Guess I'll try Woods BBQ next and see how that goes. One last thing, when I went to order my sandwich they asked if I wanted it North Carolina style. I had to ask them what that meant. I said I'm sure there are many different styles?! What they were REALLY asking was did I want slaw on my sandwich. Since I hate slaw that was then an easy question to answer. read more

My husband and I are retired Marine Corps veterans. Now we are in law enforcement. When we entered this restaurant we were recognized immediately because we were in uniform and a staff person came and took us from the back of the line all the way to the front. That was a very nice touch. We would have to admit that we felt moved by this experience. What a great concept Mission BBQ has. Thank you for all that you do for service people. read more

I had a great experience at Mission. The food was completely amazing. I was visiting the area for training and was brought here. I was in uniform and received a complimentary peach cobbler at the end of my meal. The staff was extremely friendly and even thanked me for my service... Stafford needed this place. It has a good bbq menu and a variety of indoor and outdoor seating. The brisket sandwich was amazing and the 'cold' slaw was a nice accompaniment. The prime rub melted in my mouth. Freedom fries were well seasoned and I tried every single sauce (they have at least 10) and liked them all. The best part is that they help wounded warriors, and the Coast Guard. I'll definitely be going back. read more

I want to love this place, but I'm 1 for 3 on favorable experiences. First off the wife is happy - pulled pork sandwich is spot on and the mac-n-cheese is really good. She's loving it. She actually feels bad for me because she knows I miss good Texas BBQ. For me the brisket was dry, but tasty...I chalked it up to first day(s) for them to settle in and get the system just right. A good brisket is much harder to achieve and I'm trying to be understanding. 2nd attempt was the same...hopefully they work it out. The baby back ribs first day were awesome...I thought we on the verge of a home run. 2 more visits and they're out...ok, it's the first weeks and get the numbers right will take a bit. I can absolutely appreciate the cost, time, etc. of not wanting to over prep. So tonight I finally get a full 10 baby back ribs...I should have known it was going to be bad when they were pitch black. 10 ribs is not cheap...two slabs of five and they were as dry and over cooked as you can get. Literally jerky like on over half of them. So disappointing. We got take out...big mistake, I would have returned these if I were in the restaurant. The mac-n-cheese was the only saving grace of the meal. $45 for the wife and I - not sure I'm going back a fourth time. On the positive - staff is great, everyone is friendly and they're clearly trying. They also have Big Red and Black Cherry sodas...among others old time flavors....love it. Hopefully things turn around - I'm not a pulled pork guy, I like ribs and brisket. Both are always pricey so the expectation should be great and consistent quality. Fantastic experience. Great vibe and some of the best customer service and engagement I've ever seen in a similar type of restaurant. I love character and this place has a lot of it. The food was fantastic and the prices were great. Grab some food and wonder out to the patio. My friends and I had a great time. I'd highly recommend visiting. Great food and even better customer service. The staff will educate you on all the choices, there are many, but we have never been disappointed by anything served. The meats are smoked to perfection and the choice of sauces can satisfy any geographic preference for flavor. The choice of throw back sodas in the front service trough are a nice touch. The sides cover the typical BBQ supporting actors, mac and cheese (personal fav), green beans that are full of flavor, cornbread, slaw (a little too peppery) and banana pudding for dessert. I have heard so many things about Mission BBQ but why it's taken us so long to try it out is beyond me. The employees were super friendly and courteous, which is definitely a plus. Our food was so flavorful, tender and delicious. I had the pulled chicken sandwich and my husband chose the half yard bird. He says it was so tasty and the meat literally fell off the bone. There are BBQ sauces at the tables to try different flavored, I'm a fan of Smoky Mountain. One of the employees heard me debating the banana pudding and was gracious enough to give me a sample...it is everything!! Really really good food with a friendly and helpful staff. I tried the Chicken and Turkey entree. Each table comes with 6 different kinds of BBQ sauce and they do a great job of labeling each and explain the taste you can expect. The baked beans were AMAZING. Mmmmmn good. Tried this place for the first time today with friends and boy was it good. I arrived there around noon and was shocked that at 12 everything stops for the playing of the national anthem. A little shocker, but went in with the theme of the US Armed Forces. Ordered the the brisket with potato salad and collard greens. Cannot complain about the food, because it was delicious. Meat was nice and smoky and the sides perfect. Really good, especially for a quick service restaurant. The beef brisket was perfect - smoked for flavor but not dry. I liked the pulled pork and sausage too. The meats are first rate, but the sauces are just good. The NC vinegar sauce was meh - definitely have had better. There is a good selection of other sauces, but none really grabbed me. I wouldn't buy a bottle of sauce to take home. Finally, it was a bit pricey for a place where you order at the counter. I spent $17 for a 3 meat combo (no sides) and a drink. I was on the fence between 3/4 stars, but the price tipped the scale. Anybody who gives this place 5 stars has never had truly great BBQ (like Dreamland BBQ in AL), but I wouldn't argue with someone who gives it 4. read more

When it comes to BBQ I am one picky person. This place deserves ago the accolades it gets. We have had the pleasure of eating every meat on their menu! the brisket is, in a word, succulent. The sausages are so flavorful they don't even need sauce. The smoked corn they have right now is unique and delicious, kissed with just a hint of smoke and as sweet as any corn you can find. I could make a meal out of just their beans, which have tasty chunks of sausage and pork in them. My personal favorite is the beef rib, but hurry, quantities are so limited the employees can't even have them. I told the manager that if I was an employee I would quit during rib season!
