Was really looking forward to having good BBQ in Stafford and had a lot riding on this place. Despite it being crazy busy with opening weekend, the service and food were great. I tried the pulled pork, brisket, sausage, and baby backs. Al in all they had good smoke flavor and all was moist and July. My favorite was the pulled pork hands down. Second was the brisket. Tried all six BBQ sauces, and the NC vinegar was my favorite. Planning on going back when a little of the opening excitement has worn down to try a few more things. We Yelped this place on our drive from DC to Virginia Beach! We were not disappointed. We are originally from Kansas City; we know BBQ. And this was GOOOOD bbq. I had the pulled pork & banana pudding. I would order both again. Our teenage daughters LOVED the mac & cheese. It was a clean restaurant with great customer service and even better food. However, our family would like to say what The Mission claims is Kansas City sauce is NOT kc BBQ sauce! There were five other choices for sauce so theres a sauce for everyone. read more

First visit to Mission and we were pleased overall. I tried the pulled pork and beef brisket with mac and cheese and fries on the side. My dining companion had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. The BBQ sauces were amazing! Love that there are 6 different varieties on the tables for you to try. I honestly would come here again just for the mac and cheese! It was hot and delicious, some of the best I've had anywhere. The only downside to the meal was that the meat was luke warm at best.... especially the pulled pork. By the time my dining companion took her first bite, her sandwich was already cold. Even my fries, which were seasoned perfectly, were served at room temperature. Disappointing if you like your food hot. But overall, I'd try again. At the very least, I'd stop in for brisket and mac and cheese! read more

My first time to Stafford, and my son and I had a hankering for BBQ.Took yelp's recommendation and tried it. A bit too cafeteria style for me, but the place was immaculately clean. Service was prompt friendly and reliable, A bunch of our Guest diners were out of Quantico. My son had a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans. The pork was cooked right and we had 6 sauces to choose from. I had the brisket. This was a lean cut of meat cooked perfectly. We really enjoyed our meals. The police shoulder patches stapled to my the just added to the ambience. We will try and get there a second time before we leave. read more

Unfortunate experience today with Mission. Their food is delicious, so its sad. I ordered catering for delivery and they accidentally put it on the wrong day. When I called to ask why it hadn't arrived, they told me that and that they would be on their way in 10 minutes, but the delivery would take 40. My people were ok waiting an hour...... Then an hour later Mission called back and said they were just leaving and it would take an hour from that point. That would make the food 2 hours and 15 minutes later than I ordered it for. The meeting that I ordered it for, would be over before they got here. We had a large group of dissapointed, hangry construction workers. read more

Was looking forward to visiting this location when they opened in Stafford. I'm glad I was able to visit this week and it was simply an awesome meal. I had the pulled pork and hubby had the ribs and brisket. The sauce was served on the side so you could just the amount you desired. I thought the staff was great and helpful and we both really enjoyed our meal! Will definitely be back but will have to pace myself between yoga and Pilates so I don't blow up like the Goodyear blimp! We didn't encounter any of the issues a few other reviewers stated but who knows maybe there were some speed bumps to their first week open. read more

Best BBQ EVER, I have only eaten here a couple times but every time it has been outstanding today ate lunch with my Fiancé and we both had eyes bigger than our stomachs. The General Manager I am assuming was the one walking around asking how our meal was, was also amazing!!! Very upbeat atmosphere and the workers cleared our trays and got condiments to go without us asking!! Seems like a great atmosphere to work in!!
