My friend and I stopped by for lunch during restaurant week. We sat outside on a beautiful summer day and the space had lots of outdoor seating and a perfect place to people watch. Despite being outside our servers were very attentive and made sure our water glasses were never empty. We both got the Limeño tiradito and the server was able to explain what that was to much. I would highly recommend getting that dish because it was full of flavor. I got the chicken chaufa and it was delicious! My friend got the fish and chips sandwich which was equally delicious but I think if I were to go back I might try the sandwich. I went to Mission Ceviche on March 31, 2026 with a group of friends for their cooking class, and it was such a fun and unique experience! The class cost $106 per person and lasted about two hours. Everything was included, we were provided with all the ingredients needed to make the dish, plus a classic pisco cocktail as part of the experience. It felt like a great value for what we got. Our instructor walked us through the entire process step by step and also shared some background on the history of ceviche, which made it even more interesting. The portions were generous, and we left feeling completely full and satisfied. I also have to mention the manager, who was absolutely lovely and checked in on us several times to make sure everything was running smoothly. That extra level of attention really stood out. The only downside was that it could get a bit loud in the restaurant, so it was sometimes hard to hear the instructor. A microphone would definitely improve the experience. Overall, I would 100% recommend this class if you're looking for something fun, interactive, and different to do with friends! read more

Great experience! Honestly, I really don't have any complaints about this meal. Starting with the food we had the ceviche sampler which were all really good with the classic being my favorite. But the other two were good as well. Then we had the filet mignon sushi roll, which is not something I would have ever thought to order but the table wanted it and I have to say it was one of the best bites I've had in a minute. It's honestly a must get in my opinion. For mains we had the Bronzino, which was to die for. It was truly one of the best Bronzino's I've had in a while and I am a Bronzino connoisseur. We also had the paella which was very good as well. Service was impeccable. Our waiter could not have been more friendly and was attentive. It did take a bit to get a waiter to come to our table, but after that zero complaints whatsoever. Ambience is super casual. It's one of those places where you could make it a nice meal, but you could also show up in jeans and a T-shirt and be totally fine. This was only the second ceviche class the restaurant has hosted, and I can already tell it's going to be a huge success for them. It exceeded our expectations. The class lasted nearly two hours, during which the executive chef walked us through the history of ceviche in Peru, traditional Peruvian ceviche and its flavors, and then guided each of us as we made our own bowl. We layered in so many flavors and textures, and by the end I was honestly shocked--it looked like something straight out of the kitchen. The experience also included an amazing Pisco Sour (and as someone who is obsessed with Pisco Sours, that was the icing on the cake). The class is set up at a large rectangular table, which made it easy to chat with others and created a really fun, social bonding experience. We all ended up exchanging contact information afterward. To wrap it up, they took a group photo with our certificates for completing the class, and we were able to take home both the certificates and the recipes. Huge kudos to Chris, the manager, for bringing this idea from his previous restaurant experience, and major kudos to Nacho (Executive Chef) and Louis for their time, patience, and incredible teaching. Walking into a very lively restaurant with nice blue lighting and live plants, we were greeted by the host and seated by the beautiful bar area. Started with the braised avocado guacamole with a side of plantain tostones, fried plantain fritters, the guacamole was mild, and velvety delicious. The ceviche was nicely plated with the different seafood, mahi mahi, octopus, fried shrimp and a stone crab claw separated in clusters in the marinade of citrus juice and peppers covered with shredded pickled onions waiting for a spoon. For the main, had the short ribs on a bed of delicious braised canary beans topped with roasted carrots. The portion size of the braised short ribs was so generous that I had to take half of it home. The servers were very attentive and great at cleaning the table and bringing a new set of silverware for the main course. We had our anniversary dinner at this restaurant. Our server, Scarlet, was extremely attentive, and courteous. Our shrimp appetizer as well as my main course of short ribs and Branzino was delicious. I just want to start my saying this place is a 10/10!!! I came here to celebrate my birthday with 7 of my good friends. We had a time and it was worth the wait. You can make your reservation online via Opentable but for up to 8 people. For more than that, you have to call and they will let you know that they only offer family style for that many people. Do yourself a favor, just do family style and come hungry. You will not be disappointed. Also no matter what time you call the restaurant, they will pick up the phone. Great customer service. Now for the real deal, the food and the drinks. All I can say is everyone was satisfied with all the dishes we were served. I really had no idea what we would be trying and I was pleasantly surprised. Even the picky eaters in our group were happy with the food. I've tried Peruvian food in the past, but this is some unique delicious Peruvian. Our server was very informative of the dishes and the ingredients used and explained to us what each dish was. They give you many different types of the dishes on their menu and all for $90 per person. They gave us 2 of each dish. It was enough for our group. We were served mahi mahi ceviche, watermelon ceviche, yuca fries with cheese, a green salad, tostones with a delicious cilantro Aiolli (we kept asking for more) and quacamole, arroz con mariscos, arrow chauffeur, antichuchero sushi roll, another chicken dish, a beef dish, broccolini, Brussels sprouts, tres leches, and choclo con queso for dessert. Talk about a great deal. Drinks were just as good. I ordered the Grownup's Raspadilla. My friend's had cava, vert tige, and watermelon blossom. It was a bit expensive but i would say worth. getting once it was super filling Tres leches 9/10 this was the main reason we came. i've tried a lot of teesleches but none as good as this. the warm marshmallow top and the cold cake on the bottom was such a good combination. i loved it! i would say this is a must get Overall Impression: I'd recommend this place for people who want a good cerviche and tres leches. Such a lovely lunch at Mission Ceviche! Our server, Destinee, was very helpful and patient with us as we made our decision about what to eat. Wish I took a picture of the dessert - the tres leche was out of this world! Each bit of the meal was special: even the rice had a special flavor. My favorite course was the appetizer: butternut squash soup. They had great coat hooks to hang our heavy jackets on a cold winter day (may seem crazy to comment on coat hooks but they were helpful in January 2026!) For food I tried the Guacamole & Tostones. It was okay, I realized I don't like Braised Avocado. It was too creamy and for that portion, it needed to be in a smaller bowl. Note - this is a review for the Summer 2025 Restaurant Week and a potentially super busy day. We were really looking forward to coming here and were glad to see it on Restaurant Week (RW). We made a reservation and it seemed like the restaurant was overbooked. Definitely too few servers and waiters compared to how many patrons there were. One server clearing our table mentioned it was a crazy busy day for them. When we got seated, we mentioned we wanted to see the RW menu. Our waiter tried to tell us that they weren't doing RW that evening because they were busy and they wanted to turn the tables more quickly. We asked for the RW menu again and he did give it us, but said that the food could take over 1 hour to come to the table given how busy they were. We still decided to go with the RW option, even after the waiter was basically talking us out of it or even lying about that they are not doing RW. Not a great start to the dinner with the waiter trying to dissuade us and potentially lying about the menu availability. Food-wise - the ceviche and the starter came out pretty quickly. Both were really good and the ceviche is worth coming here for. Entrees took a while longer to come. The highlight was the branzino filet which, while pretty small, was very tasty and the sauce was great. I would pass on the beef dish with the side of (seemingly) mashed potatoes. read more

Save yourself the trouble and skip this place. The biggest issue: when it was time to pay, we were told we had to use their app. No warning that the app tacks on a $6 "convenience fee" just to pay your bill. I only noticed after the fact. When I pointed it out to the manager, Christian, his exact words were "Well, that is not my problem." A manager saying that to a customer about a fee his own restaurant requires tells you everything about how this place operates. The rest of the experience didn't help. Service was inattentive all night, and the food was forgettable, especially at these prices. Hidden fees, mediocre food, and a manager who shrugs when you ask about it. Came here with a reservation for three and ended up squeezed into a two-top with an extra chair for the entire dinner. Not exactly what you'd expect at this price point. We asked to be moved early on. The table behind us -- a four-top -- had a party of three, and when they left I asked if we could take it. Server said wait for the manager. Manager never showed. The table went to a walk-in party of three instead, no one ever came back to us. When I went to find the manager myself, things went downhill fast. He brushed off our request, said everyone was seated the same way, and when I pushed back, threw in a "Do you understand?" mid-conversation that was anything but friendly. Ended by telling us we could leave if we weren't happy, then walked off to "attend to other guests." We were paying customers with a valid reservation making a completely reasonable request. The way we were handled was dismissive at best, rude at worst. Food was fine. Service from the floor staff was okay. But the manager single-handedly made this a one-star experience. read more

I came for dinner with three friends on a Friday night at around 7:30pm. We had made a reservation on Wednesday night and they had plenty of spots available even with just a few days in advance. I have not really explored the food scene as much around the UES but was happy I came here. My first impression is that the ambiance was super nice-- the restaurant feels trendy, open, lively, and green. It feels like the perfect place to come hangout with friends, split some elevated Peruvian dishes, and have some drinks. Service was very good and the waiters were very attentive of our table throughout the night. For drinks and food I tried: - Maracuyá sour: I am a huge fan of pisco sours and especially passion fruit ones. I was very happy that this one did not fall short. The drink had the perfect balance of the tart acidity of the passion fruit without being too sweet. Very refreshing and had the foamy topping that I love so much and gives it a creamy consistency (like a cappuccino). Would order again! - Guacamole: very good app to split. This came with four small patacones (or fried plantains) and a bowl of guacamole. We each got to have one topped with some very citrusy and creamy guacamole. Very nice app but portion size felt a little small. - Seafood mixto ceviche: we split this between our table as well and all of us loved it. It came with pieces of sea bass, scallop, shrimp, and octopus along with the traditional crispy corn, bigger corn, and sweet potatoes. This was a little different than other ceviches I have had since the leche the Tigre (or sauce) has hints of aji Amarillo which gave it so much more flavor and color. Amazing quality seafood and just very refreshing. Very generous chunks of seafood. - Ají de gallina: I got this as my main and I'm very happy I did. The waiter had told me the portion was slightly small but this is such a rich dish that it felt very filling nonetheless. The chicken was tender and shredded to perfection without feeling dry. The aji sauce was so thick, creamy, and flavorful. Probably the best I've had so far in the city. This came with a side of white rice which had little peas and pieces of the big corn which gave it a much earthier flavor and fun texture! The rim of the plate also had an olive cream sauce that added a salty, tangy kick. Overall, food was phenomenal, the ambiance was super fun, and the service was amazing. Food felt a little overpriced but it is definitely worth the experience and the high quality of ingredients. I've never been to a Peruvian restaurant and this was my first experience. The restaurant is completely decorated with earth toned colors that's white, green and brown. They have a great indoor and an outdoor seating space, depending on your preference and the weather. The service was friendly and great. We were greeted upon arrival and accommodated for an early arrival than the booking time. Food was amazing, and I would recommend anyone who hasn't tried this restaurant yet to definitely put it in a bucket list. Water and beverages were refilled accordingly. We tried the lunch price fixe menu, which is of amazing value. I didn't have to wait till NYC restaurant week to try more options at right proportions at a Michelin guide recommend restaurant. We've been visiting the Upper East Side location since it first opened, and it has become a highlight of the neighborhood. With few Michelin-level restaurants near the East River in the 70s, this spot quickly became a favorite among my friends and me. I have celebrated big gatherings and parties here, enjoyed post-work drinks at the bar with friends on Fridays, and dined outdoors during COVID and beyond, savoring our favorite dishes with a Grownups' Raspadilla in hand, which is my favorite to go drink here. I even had my first restaurant visit and meal here after a major medical event--so that should tell you how highly I rank this place! Mission Ceviche consistently delivers high-quality food with beautifully presented dishes and great cocktails. Their fusion creations never disappoint, and we always love trying new dishes alongside our go-to favorites. The only downside is that dinner service can get overwhelmingly busy and noisy--so much so that there have been times we walked in and right back out. However, my first weekday lunch visit was a revelation. The restaurant was nearly empty, offering exceptional service, beautifully plated dishes, and a calm atmosphere with mellow music. With the $35 prix fixe lunch and a great selection of dishes, it was a truly relaxing and refined experience.
