I've seen this place while walking to Chase Center for a Warriors game or on my route of a 5k. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were plenty of reservations to site with a view of the bay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Came for brunch and had a rather small menu compared to other places. Hokkaido Scallop Crudo (5/5): drenched in ponzu and has apple and peppers in it. I thought the pieces amount was great with enough the share. The scallop was packed with flavor although I think I would like a milder sauce. Clam chowder (5/5): Got a bowl to share and it was comforting. Nothing too crazy. Frito Misto (5/5): Perfect appetizers with a variety to share like calamari, shrimp, zucchini, lemon, and jalapeño. Although I do recommend staying away from the lemon. Short rib French dip (4/5): I should've probably gotten seafood at a seafood restaurant, but this wasn't too bad. The meat was just a bit dry. I recommend coming here before a Chase Center event.

We recently had dinner at Mission Rock before a Valkyries game. Luckily I had made a 5 pm reservation as it was packed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They started by sitting us on the outside deck but close to the wall without a view. It's a covered patio with heaters, so even on a foggy night, not too cold.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When a guest left one minute later on the balcony close to the water, we changed seats. No one got seated in our previous bad seats the whole time we were there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Strike one. We began our meal with a $16 margarita, which was tasty but fairly small. Husband had two martinis and I had an Aperol spritz later. These four drinks accounted for about $70 of our bill, even though it was happy hour. Strike two. We asked about the $1.50 oyster HH special. Were they small and from Washington state? Our waiter Alex answered yes to both. When our dozen oysters arrived, they were huge, gritty, slimy and inedible. The waiter even said they were "bigger than usual" and he liked them smaller. When we only ate one and said we didn't like them, he didn't take them away nor comp it. Strike three. One the positive side, we split a New England clam chowder soup ($12) and he brought an extra little bowl. The soup included bacon, parsley, oyster crackers and was creamy and very good. I had the ahi tuna ($22), with seasame, soy, avocado, ginger, scallion, and a good amount of wonton chips. Generous portion and fresh fish, but the ahi could have been sliced smaller. Husband had the cerviche ($24) which had a nice serving of seafood, with local rockfish, gulf prawns, avocado, lime, cilantro, and corn tortilla chips. He enjoyed it. Service was pretty slow but they were busy. If I was to go again, I'd stay for the views and not the food.

A lovely spot! My friends and I tried Mission Rock Resort on a Saturday at noon and had a pretty good experience. When we arrived, there was no wait and we were immediately sat upstairs, even with no reservation. The entire downstairs area of the restaurant was empty. Upstairs, the patio area was full but only a few people were seated inside. It looked like the side room was reserved for a large party as well. It was quite lively for this quieter area of SF. The view and ambiance was very nice. This restaurant sits right on the water with a beautiful sunny bay view of boaters and kayakers. The view paired well with the delicious food. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict with a Paloma off the Brunch menu. The food came quickly and was lovely. The smoked salmon tasted very fresh. The English muffin was super soft. The eggs were cooked perfectly with a delicious hollandaise sauce over the top. The greens were also a nice touch. The potatoes were great too. They were loaded with paprika for a salty yet smoky flavor. The Paloma was very refreshing. It tasted like they used fresh grapefruit juice! The only issue was that two people at our table ordered cups of clam chowder with their meals but they never arrived. We tried to tell our server but the one time he stopped by our table, he left too quickly to get the message out. When it came time to bring the check, we just asked that the clam chowders be removed from the bill. Regardless, I would love to come back and try more of what Mission Rock has to offer!

Frito Misto- super crispy mix of seafood that was wonderful with the two typical sauces. The zucchini and jalapeño was nice as well. I was surprised with the fried lemon too but that was really good surprisingly Blackened Salmon- nice crispy and soft salmon. The rainbow chard and jambalaya were nice pairings with the salmon Ahi Tuna- very flavorful and the chips helped bring that extra texture. Wish there were more chips Burrata- crispy bread with the soft Burrata was a match made well. Adding the salad of arugula as well with each bite made it even better Nice water front restaurant with amazing food. We wanted to share a bunch of dishes together to try a bit of everything which was a good choice to make for us.

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for drinks around 3:30pm. The downstairs bar was not open so we went to the bar upstairs. It took the bartender a while to acknowledge us. There were some empty tables on the outdoor balcony but it seems you can only sit there if you order food. So we brought our drinks downstairs and sat on the outdoor back patio. It's covered which was nice because it was a very sunny. There's also heat lamps if it gets cold. We ordered a glass of the Resort Spritz $14 which I think will be my go to drink from now on and a glass of La Crema Chardonnay $13 which was nice too. Note: Happy hour is Tuesday - Friday from 3pm - 6pm where you can get oysters for $1.50 each. (Their advertisement in the men's bathroom needs updating. It still says it's Monday - Friday and oysters are $1)

I work nearby and had been wanting to try this place out for a while, so my friend and I decided dinner by the water on a warm day sounded perfect. We shared the Ceviche and Nicoise salad, and both were generously sized and thoughtfully prepared. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was attentive and kind, as we were enjoying our food, conversation, and the relaxing view so much that we didn't realize that the restaurant had closed... But the staff did not rush us![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It felt like being on vacation, thanks Mission Rock team!

First of all recognition to Sidney our server and Chef Damon and the rest of the staff for their great attentive service and spot on food flavor. I was impressed how Sidney was sensitive to our groups dietary restrictions.we were a party of about 17 and she made seem seamless. Great place for groups and awesome view over the water and great for walking outside also across the street from the Warriors Arena.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is such a nice restaurant to spend at on a beautiful day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have such a beautiful bay view from the upstairs seating area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our really nice and friendly server took our order of ceviche verde, raw oysters, drinks, and the papas bravas. The ceviche verde was so fresh and flavorful with the verde lemon sauce. The papas bravas were super crispy and tasted delicious with the aoili sauce. The oysters however weren't tasting the best, but for $1.50 each during happy hour, it was such a great deal.

Been going to this restaurant for years and has always been a solid spot with delicious food, lots of space and plenty of parking. They also have an outdoor patio that looks into the Bay. Pretty easy to get reservations and they also have Happy Hour. Went here recently for a ladies lunch and ordered the following: Frito Misto,Garlic Fries and Dungeness Crab Benedict. Everything came out quickly and the servers were really friendly. Definitely will keep coming back.

If you're heading to Chase Center for a concert/game, or looking for something fun by the water to enjoy seafood, sips, and just enjoy SF, give Mission Rock Resort a try. This was the first time we tried lunch at Mission Rock and it was poppin'. There was a fundraising event happening and the Mayor of SF was actually in attendance, so it was an incredibly fun moment to be present in. People were really loving the space (there's two levels), with views and brews flowing. We ordered a cup of the clam chowder, garlic fries for the table, and split the lobster roll. First time sitting outside and it was so lovely. We're used to SF seafood fun at the Pier, so this is a nice alternative in what's normally a sleepy part of SF on non-game/event days. Everything was so flavorful and fresh ~ they asked if we were splitting the sandwich and went ahead and plated the halves for us with a side salad/fries. I haven't had garlic fries in years ~ these were crisp and packed the punch. The lobster was delicious, the actual bread itself was soft and pillowy. Would love to come back on a Saturday game day to enjoy a few more items from the menu ~ the burger looked juicy! To note, the menu is extensive with a little bit of something for everyone (and non-seafood lovers too!) Brunch on weekends, lunch/dinner (starting on Tuesday), and there's a more casual cafe downstairs with no reservations needed or table side service (order at the counter/first come, first served). Service was very attentive, parking can be found outside or if needed, Chase Center has an indoor lot (a bit pricey). Reservations recommended if not for the cafe, check hours ahead of time for specifics. Pricing fair and reasonable for fresh SF seafood with a view.

This is an excellent venue with a great waterfront space to enjoy! There was plenty of space and room inside, outside on the patio, and even out front on this wide street and sidewalk. For context, this is the city I'm talking about. The food was great, the drink selection was great, and the people working there were also great! They were highly attentive and very nice. I even had a unique Golden State cider called Big Dub following the zeitgeist of the Dubs - Warrriorrrrs! Team spirit - Cheers!

    Ahi Tuna
    Julianna G.

Enjoyed fresh oysters on a half shell for only $1.50 each during their Happy Hour. The oysters were very fresh! We also shared the Ahi Tuna starter and Fish and Chips. All the fish tasted very fresh and was very delicious. I wish I could give it 5 stars, but had to remove a star due to the service. Service is just okay, it took nearly 15 minutes after being seated for our server to take our food order.

Ask the Community - Mission Rock Resort

Do you have parking? There is a show at Chase Center that night?

Hi Bill, we do not have valet parking or a private lot. Here are some helpful parking tips for when there is an event at Chase! -- https://www.missionrockresort.com/location/mission-rock-resort/

Are they still doing $1 happy hour oysters?

Hi there! Our happy hour oysters are $1.50. Happy Hour is offered Tuesday-Friday from 3pm-6pm. *excludes event days…

Do they serve their brunch cocktails downstairs (at the Rock Cafe) on the weekends?

    I'm not sure.

Public parking near mission rock restaurant?

There are plenty of on-street pay-to-park bays outside the restaurant. As the Chase center is nearby, the parking on some occasions can be busy, but we always find spots on Third Street if there are no spaces right outside. It's also a very short…

Are dogs allowed at outdoor tables?

Yep! We sat with our dog outside

Can your event space accommodate 300 pax?

Yes, but of course, schedule it with management.

Do you take reservations on game days?

Yes! You can make a reservation with us using our website www.missionrockresort.com Hope to see you soon!

When is happy hour for oysters?

3:00pm-7:00pm Monday-Friday, I believe. I would call before to verify.

    Can we come with kids?

    Of course! :)

Can I ask for no shrimp in the crab roll?? I absolutely loved the last crab roll I had but its changed since I have been in 2020.…

I don't know the right answer but I don't see why not. The shrimp and crab are not mixed in together but rather stacked on top of each other. However, I don't think they will add additional crab to make the roll look more filling so your crab (only)…

Will you be open on New Years Eve?

Yes, we will be open on 12/31 for normal hours. We will take our last seat in the dining room at 8:45pm, which normally leads us to be closed around 10:30pm. Thank you!

Do you require proof of vaccination?

Per the San Francisco mandate, we do require proof of vaccination for indoor dining. In our outdoor spaces, we are not required to verify vaccination status.

    Are there vegan options now?

Hi there! Yes, we do have Vegan options:…

Is there an ADA_accessible entrance or elevator? I would like to visit with someone who uses a cane and can't go down stairs.

Hi there- Yes, there is an ADA entrance and an elevator.

Is there indoor/secure bike parking, or is it all outdoor?

Hi Katherine, thank you for reaching out! Our bike parking is outside - please bring your lock with you! Hope to see you at Mission Rock soon!

It would mean so much to me if I could get a reservation for 4, outdoor, this Friday at 4:30? If this is not possible, what are the odds that we can walk in and get an outdoor table for this very special event?

You can make a reservation on open table and request outdoor seating. Otherwise, they get busy on Fridays, but might be able to snag a table downstairs in the bar area outside.

    Are walk-ins welcome?

Absolutely! We save quite a few tables for walk ins.

    Is proof of vaccination required?

Nope! Just went this past weekend. Masks are required on the inside to order.....

Is Mission Rock Resort Dog friendly?

Hi Mountain, thank you for reaching out! Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome at Mission Rock Resort :)

To be honest, that steak needs nothing extra. It is "melt in your mouth" tender and extremely flavor. I love the addition of the bone marrow because it enhances the richness of the steak. The mac & cheese is also very indulgent and rich. We were way too full for dessert so we went with a ball of the espresso gelato and were given complimentary carrot cake bites which were soooo gooodddd. I wish I wasn't full because they're pastry chef is the best! Hands down the place for a 5-star lux dining experience!

Amazing experience…read more I've been to a lot of steakhouses, and this is by far the best fine-dining experience I've had. The service is top tier. The ribeye was slightly overcooked, and they were quick to fix it to my liking. The food was great and had a unique twist to the typical steakhouse menu. Making the experience new. My fiancé and I had the pleasure of seeing Tyler Florence as he walked by the restaurant, casually greeting everyone. My favorite parts were the music and the drink pricing. It had an old-school club feeling, with a fun vibe that contrasted with the usual uptight, formal feel. Recommend to anyone and everyone.

A charming little bistro inspired by the Marlowe cows, I'm assuming, managed to stun us with several memorable dishes. The warm deviled eggs were an excellent start. Savory yet delicate enough to not weigh us down right at the beginning of our meal. The horseradish aioli wasn't for me, but I can see its appeal for a certain audience. You give me a Calabrian chili sauce and it's guaranteed to make me happy and this shrimp with sweet corn was no exception. Again, light but a punchy flavor that was enjoyable. I could go on and on about the different dishes we tried but the real standout of the night was the pork tenderloin with chorizo and peaches. The sweetness from the peaches somehow managed to enhance the flavor of the chorizo. This dish gives you a bold, savory and sweet bite all together but still won't have you feeling super heavy. The portion size is perfect. Im hoping to return soon for another exquisite meal.

The residential setting is part of the appeal - you can actually spread out, and it's a lovely area to wander while you wait for a table (and you will wait, so plan for it). The outdoor seating is the way to go. Indoor feels cramped. On cooler mornings they'll even hand you a blanket. Sitting outside on that peaceful corner watching the neighborhood wake up is a charming experience. Only downside of dining al fresco: a fly landed on my sausage. But credit to the staff - the waiter noticed and brought out a fresh plate without me even having to ask. That kind of attentive service goes a long way. The food lives up to the hype. The lemon ricotta pancakes are the star for good reason. They were light, fluffy, and not too sweet. The crispy potatoes were excellent too, just be warned they come out scorching hot (I burned the roof of my mouth going in too eager). Give them a minute to cool. Upside of parking on the top of that steep hill is that you'll burn off your breakfast calories getting back to your car.

Honestly didn't like it. Just fat and greasy, felt a bit heavy to start the meal. - Hamachi Bomb: Best dish of the night. There were 2 pieces only, but flavorful. The hamachi was wrapped around rice with yuzu. - Rainbow Spider roll: A special, monster size roll. It's got tempura soft shell crab, avocado, and cucumber then topped with a ton of sashimi and unagi sauce. Super filling. - Red Dragon roll: Solid if you like spicy tuna and salmon. A bit sour idk why - Haleakala Maki: My 2nd favorite. Albacore poke with the ogo seaweed and red clay salt had such a unique flavor, then top with torched albacore and spicy garlic oil. Honestly, 10/10. For drink, I had the El Fuego de Japan. It's margarita with jalapeño tequila and yuzu, I didn't impress much.

I eyed their Bento Box, in which I chose the Chicken Teriyaki, and the Tempura for my items. It comes with a salad, and a scoop of rice. All that for $20. My food came very hot! I was so pleased! My tempura was particularly great, with a thinner batter, and crispy and hot. I also got the chicken teriyaki, which was chicken breast grilled, and quite good, just a little more on the heavier grilled side. Still juicy though. Portions were a little small here, but overall I loved the food. I will have to come back for another Bento box someday, or bring my family here after work. It's a cute and cozy little restaurant, modern inside, different from how I envisioned in a good way! For some reason not exactly what I was expecting from what I saw on the outside. The service was very friendly and talkative, but also took a few minutes to me to be helped as I think the host also doubled as a waiter. Would definitely return for the lunch hour!
