They have a great wine list, including by the glass.

Outstanding fine dining in the Knox Henderson area. Mister Charles offers it truly elevated experience, and the atmosphere has a great vibe. Our server was fantastic and she knew the menu exceptionally well. She offered so many great suggestions, including a complementary appetizer that was delicious. They have a great wine list and lots of craft cocktails. The menu is large and varied, with mostly steaks and seafood. I am a huge fan of beef. Wellington and our server suggested that it might be the best. She was not wrong, it was truly amazing. The Seabass was also divine. This is a great place for a special evening, or just a delicious dinner. Make a reservation. We are already planning our next trip back.

Went here on a Saturday night and omg... so good. The space has darker lighting so it leans more romantic but it's also a great spot for a nice dinner with friends. The bar area was super crowded, we didn't sit there but I've heard it's award-winning. Also, the chandelier inside is really pretty and adds to the whole vibe. For food, I got the seared diver scallops and wow, melt in your mouth, so flavorful, just really, really yum! My friend got the tandoori spiced swordfish and liked it a lot too. We also shared the roasted maitake mushrooms as a side, which were great, and my friend tried a non-alcoholic wine and i got a mocktail, both were good options. And dessert... the baked Alaska was really good. I liked that it had banana in it, a unique touch that worked really well. A must order item! Service was impeccable. Overall, definitely a spot I can't wait to go again to for a nice night out.

I'm never going to say no to a dimly lit restaurant while drinking a martini and eating pasta. Mister Charles was the perfect place to end the night. The pastas tasted amazing, I recommend the Truffle Scarpinocc. Even the interior sets it apart from any other restaurant in Dallas. If I ever get the chance to come back I have to sit at their stunning bar.

Nice date night spot. The pastas are delicious and come in generous portions. Highly recommend the corn beignets with crème fraiche. We tried a few canapés and crudo along with our pasta entrees, but our favorites were the desserts. The passion fruit panna cotta and old fashioned sundae were divine.

Mister Charles is the fourth Duro restaurant that I have tried. I made reservations to try it on a whim with a friend. This is without a doubt 'thee' special occasion restaurant. The moment you walk in there's muted opulence everywhere both beautiful and inviting. I started with the Blue Velvet, a delicious gin and blueberry drink that's not too sweet. We ordered three Canapés: grilled cheese, lobster, and A5. The grilled cheese is a must try! There is so much umami packed in a little bite. The A5 wagyu was a solid second best. The lobster bread was rough, and the claw meat was overshadowed by celery. Next, we tried the beignets and bluefin. The bluefin was nice, especially if you like citrus. The beignets are popular for a reason, another must try item. Next, we ordered the truffle bucatini. I'm always impressed with Duro pastas. If you want a light entree, try the scallops. Every bite was heavenly. Between the sauce and the pomegranate it's a well thought out dish. We ended with the Baked Alaska and Chocolate Gateau. I was partial to the chocolate, and the coffee ice cream complemented it well. Tonya made us laugh all night, and I hope we get her again when we return. Not if, when!

We were on the wait list for a few weeks for valentines but we're lucky enough to get a spot right as they opened on Valentine's Day! The service here was incredible. We had several people servicing our table and my water glass was never empty. We constantly had someone stop by the table to ask how we were doing. They also gave each table a rose which I thought was such a nice touch for Valentine's Day. The standout menu items for me were the corn truffle beignet and the caviar chicken nuggets for appetizers. For our entree, we split a lobster bucatini and Wagyu filet with a pink peppercorn crust. Everything was absolute perfection, and the perfect Valentine's Day meal. This was definitely a meal we'll be talking about for weeks.

We had a very nice dinner here for my in-law's anniversary! Eric R. made reservations and we got in for 5:45 PM. It was already a very busy restaurant when we arrived a few minutes early. Our server Peter was great and very helpful with our questions. He brought out champagne on the house for us to cheers the anniversary couple. Eric R. and his dad got the Highland Park Pharmacy Penicillin cocktail, and I got a class of rose prosecco. My mother-in-law was not sure about drinking anything, but Peter brought her a little rose prosecco to try too. For canapes, Eric R. got the lobster roll. He joked we must have had our table bugged because every time we talked about a menu item, it seemed to come out for us to try on the house. Peter brought four grilled cheese canapes, but I declined because I do not eat pork and it has prosciutto, He sent one without prosciutto for me to try! For appetizers, we shared the corn and truffle beignets and Little Gem Caesar salad. Eric R.'s mom got the beef carpaccio but declined to share. For my meal, I ordered two appetizer menu items: the Spanish octopus and the hamachi crudo. Eric R. ordered the short rib wellington to share with his parents, who also got the scallops and the fusilli pasta with caviar. I was able to try a half scallop and some pasta, which were very delicious! For dessert, we ordered the chocolate gateau and banana semifreddo baked Alaska, but Peter sent us the other two desserts on the menu: the sundae, and the passion fruit entremet. Everything was delicious! We were very full and happy. My in-laws are considering hosting their anniversary party in the restaurant at the end of the year because they enjoyed the experience.

Upon entering Mister Charles, the space immediately feels grand and swanky--large teardrop chandeliers, soft pastel tones, and crisp linen tablecloths set the scene. There appear to be two distinct dining areas, with the second being more intimate and moody. We didn't have a reservation, but were able to snag seats at the small bar tucked inside the smaller dining room. With only four seats, it felt almost like having our own personal bartender. We let the bartender choose our drinks, asking for something sweet and cute, and he absolutely nailed it. We started with canapés--literally one bite each, but just enough to set the tone for the meal. The corn and truffle beignets were very filling, though a touch heavy on the crème fraîche base. The Spanish octopus was the standout of the night--so tender I don't even remember chewing. The crab cake was fresh with great flavor, but we paced ourselves to save room for dessert. The chocolate cake was incredibly creamy and decadent. This place is a whole vibe. I forget the bartender's name but he took really good care of us. I'll definitely be back.

we decided to get dinner here, since it was part of the visa open table deal with chase. Otherwise i don't think i would ever come here myself. We made a reservation on open table for 2 people (since they ran out of 3 person tables on the time we wanted to book), but on the note we mentioned we needed a place to have our stroller. The next day we get a note from the restaurant saying they were able to make it for a table for three... granted, we went right when it opened for dinner. We ended up getting a few appetizers and a pasta and ended it with dessert. Little Gem Caesar, Anchovy Caper Vinaigrette $22 Spanish Octopus, Patatas Bravas, Artichokes, Mojo Rojo $26 hamachi (forgot how much this cost) Clams Vongole, Casarecce, Green Garlic, Parmesan $32 Banana Semifreddo Baked Alaska $16 Out of all the items we ended up getting, i really enjoyed the little gem caesar salad. it was simple, but really fresh and refreshing to start the meal. I also enjoyed the baked alaska... They will pour liquid fire right in front of you, which is always a cool sight to see. The servers were attentive and friendly. And the interior decor was upscale but it didn't feel snobby. Parking: you can valet for free or park at the trader joes parking structure and walk over here.

I'm usually very critical when it comes to expensive fine dining - Mister Charles definitely delivered and we had a 11/10 experience here. Off the bat, the restaurant itself is beautiful. Great decor and super friendly & accommodating staff. They definitely go out of the way to make you feel special and valued. The food, also spectacular. I loved the octopus, perfectly tender, but still with a bite and seasoned perfectly along with the patatas bravas it comes with. The beef Wellington was of course the star here. I saw almost every table around me order it, I assume it's their specialty. Mine came out with almost no pink, which some people might not prefer, but I had no problem with it. It was perfectly tender and juicy and the pastry was so perfectly flaky. The duxelles was so flavorful too. The cesar was good, but not sure i would get it again. Overall, literally one of the best places I've been too and will certainly make it back sometime.

Pretty restaurant with good food. Great restaurant for celebrations. Would recommend. Ordered: - Corn & Truffle Beignets - This one was just ok for me. The crème fraiche made the beignets feel slightly lighter which was appreciated. - Bluefin Crudo - I always love a good crudo. The passion fruit dressing complimented the fish well. - Whole Red Snapper - Yummy, would get again. Portion wise, I felt like if this was your main dish, it is enough for one person especially since it comes with a little side carrot salad. However, we used it as a shared entree and I thought it was good dish to switch up the different flavor profiles. - Texas Wagyu Short Rib Wellington - Pretty Solid Welly. Definitely share this, at least between 2 people. We shared it between 4 people and felt like it was the perfect amount (keep in mind, I'm not a big steak person though, soooo I can only eat so much beef in one sitting) but for most people I think share this between 2-3 people would be ideal. The sauce that comes with the welly is yummy. - Pommes Aligot - Asparagus - Roasted Maitake Mushrooms - my favorite side that we had. would recommend - Baked Alaska - First time trying baked alaska. I see the hype. They made it with banana ice cream and it was yummy, reminded me of banana bread a little. - Pear Pressure - Yummy cocktail, on the sweeter side. Service was great, they also had free valet which was greatly appreciated.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal, with attentive service, on a birthday celebration. Meal preparation was first-rate, befitting a Michelin star restaurant. Good to return next time we're in the area

Moved to Dallas & scouted out all the Michelin recommended restaurants. Friends suggested Mister Charles. It's date night, we absolutely starving and ended up ordering a feast, and every single dish was worth it. We started with nearly all of the canapés (no chicken nuggets, haha). The Chilled Oysters with Strawberry Ponzu and Finger Lime were bright and refreshing, the Grilled Cheese with Truffled Cheddar and Prosciutto was decadent, the Ossetra Caviar & Egg Salad on Brioche felt luxurious, the Lobster Roll canapé was deliciously buttery, and the A5 Striploin on Brioche with Wasabi was melt-in-your-mouth good. Honestly, the canapés alone make this place worth visiting! For entrées, we shared the Beef Wellington, Whole Red Snapper Milanese, Tzatziki & Carrot Salad, and the lobster/uni pasta (can't remember the exact name, but it was incredible). Everything was beautifully seasoned, cooked perfectly, and plated with so much intention. Dessert was the Banana Semifreddo Baked Alaska, which was the perfect finish, creamy, light, and super unique. For drinks, the Highland Park Pharmacy Penicillin and Crime of Passion were both fantastic, balanced cocktails. Service was great, the atmosphere felt upscale but fun, and the whole experience genuinely lived up to the hype. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Is there any bread option available to order or bread served at the table?

Bread is not served at the table and when I went on Friday there wasn't bread on the menu, but there were some sandwich canapés

Is it a place you can go and sit and their lovely bar and just have apps and drinks? Do you need reservations for that?

The bar is first come first serve, but you may enjoy the full menu there.

I enjoyed the herby sauce on the chips, but wished it was served on the side! Mains: English Pea & Potato Pierogi, Mac and Cheese, and Vegetable Pasta - they were very nice to make a vegetarian pasta dish for us, and it was delicious! The tomato sauce was flavorful. Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

WILL NEVER BE BACK!…read more HATED. EVERY. MOMENT. OF. THIS. PISS. POOR. EXPERIENCE. EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT. VALET. NOT. FREE. I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K

We both really enjoyed our respective dishes! My chicken was cooked perfectly and married well with the Garlic Aioli and White BBQ housemade sauces that came on the side, and the rice was fluffy and flavorful. Left full and satisfied! Service: A+! Our server had a bubbly demeanor and was well versed with the menu. We took her up on her recommendations, and they ended up being *chefs kiss*. Also, she brought out a fly repellant, unprompted, after acknowledging the stubborn one at our table. Also, other people checked in on us as well--definitely felt attended to. Ambiance: Casual, modern, industrial. Parking: Street parking is available.

We were seated immediately and our server was very friendly and got us started with water immediately. My wife informed her of the food allergies and informed us that whatever he is interested in, she will let us know if he can have it or if they are able to modify it. I ordered the Deviled Avocado (their play on the Deviled Egg). First it looked so cool and the avocado was the base and instead of the creamy egg it was a chick pea cream with some salt and seasoning. It was topped with onion straws. OMG it was really good. I really loved it and the texture was similar to deviled egg. For my main dish, I got a fresh kale salad with ranch dressing. It also had chick peas croutons. The ranch was light and very good. The kale was crisp and the chickpea croutons were unique and crispy. It was large enough for two. I also ordered a side of fresh cut fries which were cut thin. It was crispy and lightly salted. I can't skip in ordering fries especially if they look good. And looks matched the taste. The service was great and she kept checking on us. She knew every ingredient of all the dishes we asked about. It was amazing ! We will be back when we are back in Dallas.

She brought great vibes and was nothing but sweet and attentive the whole dinner. 100/10 Let's jump into the food portion! ***Starters:*** Avocado dip - DELICIOUS! This had a lot more flavor than what we expected and the homemade chips made it the perfect appetizer. 10/10 Rainbow Sushi Roll - this was also great. The roll tasted fresh, but it is on the spicer side so don't order unless you can handle some heat. 9/10 ***Entrees:*** I got the Beverly salad and subbed my shrimp for seared ahi. According to our waitress, she said the receipt would reflect the Seared Tuna salad since there is an upcharge for the substitution but the food came out just like I ordered. My salad was fresh, bright and didn't leave me feeling heavy. 10/10 My cousin ordered the Maple Salmon. I believe the waitress said they now use gochujang sauce instead of maple. My cousin really enjoyed her meal and said she would definitely order it again. 10/10 The bachelorette ordered the steak frites, she ordered it to be cooked medium but it came out a bit more rare than she preferred. She still ate it as is and said it was tender and flavorful. 9/10 Lastly we ordered the lobster mac, this was sooooo good! The mac was runnier than I would like but the taste made up for it. I would order it again. 9.5/10

The lemon drop and old fashioned were both spot‑on -- balanced, flavorful, and exactly what you want to ease into a relaxed dinner. We ordered a spread of oysters, sushi, shrimp cocktail, popcorn chicken, and parmesan fries, and everything was fresh, well‑seasoned, and satisfying. The oysters in particular were a standout. Service was another highlight. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered thoughtful suggestions without hovering -- the ideal level of attentiveness. The atmosphere struck a great balance: cozy and relaxed, yet still enough to feel special. Overall, Hudson House made for a lovely date spot, and I'd absolutely return. We spent about $240 including the tip.

It's a lunch spot with sandwiches and a glass of wine or a cocktail. It's the perfect place to work on your laptop or read a book, but also to take a casual date or your family for breakfast. They have a gluten free bread option (woohoo) and I've had both their avocado toast and the fried egg breakfast sandwich (with added avocado haha). Both are sooo good. The avocado toast comes with smoked salmon, which I do like, but I'm more of a basic avocado toast person. It also has a little pico de gallo and red pepper flakes! The breakfast sandwich is 2 over easy eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, and tomato on sourdough (I subbed gluten free bread and added avocado) with a side of breakfast potatoes. It's a lot of food -- super filling and delicious. I also recommend their iced latte with whatever house-made syrup your prefer (usuals like caramel, vanilla, mocha, and then not-so-usuals like coconut pandan, lavender, brown sugar date, etc.). Enjoy!

However they were attentive and the overall ambiance was nice and upbeat for a brunch place. Food wise, everything here was average. Nothing stood out as something I absolutely would come back for. We got two Benedict's that were not very warm and has hollandaise/gravy that was not very flavorful but the home fries were seasoned and fried well. The French toast was quite good but was very obviously put in the microwave right before serving with a steaming hot center. The best part was the blueberry kale salad which had a nice vinaigrette and the cashews were a nice touch. Overall, with the number of brunch spots in Dallas I would reserve halcyon for study/coffee spot as opposed to a must try weekend brunch.

Arrived pretty late, so the kitchen and dessert service had already closed. I was really hoping to try the sticky toffee cake but that'll have to wait until next time. Instead, I tried the Hibiscus Paloma mocktail with grapefruit, lime, and Topo Chico, which was incredibly refreshing after being outside. The Garden soirée was also excellent and refreshing. The NBA game was on, and the whole place was really into it (including the staff) which made for a fun atmosphere. Service took a little longer than usual, but given the energy in the room, I honestly didn't mind. The covered patio was comfortable, dog-friendly, and a great place to unwind.

The night started beautifully--we enjoyed espresso martinis at the bar and were then seated at one of our favorite tables. We ordered a bottle of wine and caviar and were settling in to plan the rest of our meal when the experience took a turn. A tween/teen birthday party was seated in the private room. At first, we assumed the noise was just initial excitement and would settle after a few minutes. The parents of the birthday girl were seated nearby, and when the mother got up, we expected she might ask the girls to lower their volume. Unfortunately, the opposite happened--she brought the group out into the main dining room for photos, where the noise level became even more disruptive. Another couple seated near us--at what is typically a very desirable table--lasted no more than five minutes before asking to be moved outside. Shortly after, a manager approached the private room. We anticipated they would address the noise, but instead, they greeted the party warmly and thanked them for being there, without making any effort to manage the disruption. After so many consistently great experiences, it was honestly shocking. We truly felt as though we were being punked. My boyfriend and I both have children and enjoy bringing them to nice restaurants, but part of that experience includes ensuring they understand and respect the environment. When that standard isn't upheld--especially with no support from management--it significantly detracts from the experience for everyone else.
