Small little burger and ice cream spot by the water. Service was very fast and efficient. Ordered a skinny twist cone that came with 2 eyes and a strawberry ice cream dipped in berry coating. Both were very good!

Burgers are juicy and full of flavor. Those loaded waffle fries are intense but still hold crisp with all the layers. The brownie/cake shake is divine. Great location with city views. Short walk to Brooklyn bridge. Can't wait to return.

Saturday, 6/07/2025 - Mister Dips. South St, New York, NY 10038 (South Street Seaport). Quick and easy to get in and get out. We only went for ice cream.

Most of these trendy looking "smash burger" spots with all the branded food napkins/paper, etc. usually suck but this was a Surprise! After two weeks in NY I wanted something simple with family and they didn't disappoint. It's pricey but at the pier it's all expensive. All of the burgers came with a milk bun-like situation that was so pillowy but also able to stay solid enough that it didn't disintegrate under all the toppings and sauce. The fries were crispy and well seasoned, a rarity these days. Next time I'm in the area I'll try out the ice cream!

Overall a nice treat to have if you're in the area / coming out of a concert at Pier 17 (which is what we did), but it's not something I'd be dying to have again. I liked the berry flavor along with the hard shell of chocolate, but the ice cream was just very regular. There wasn't anything quite stand-out about it. I appreciate how they have a menu of specials though!

    Chocolate PBD

The Chocolate PBD, was the most delicious and messiest cone I've ever eaten. The chocolate and peanut butter flavors are fantastic, but i guess the ice cream underneath was melting and pooled in the plastic cone holder so it was super messy. With that said, I'd totally order it again.

Walked into this place without a plan, just needed food before a concert at the Rooftop. Food was super well seasoned, slightly on the salty-er side, but was what we needed. The burger was really yummy, smash burger style with melt cheese in between and all the toppings. The waffle fries were also deliciously crispy. Soft serve was a bit too difficult to eat on a humid day. The shell was hard to get through and the soft serve was melting inside the shell too fast. Ice cream was really good though so get it in a cup instead. This place is definitely a hangover kind of place but a good treat too!

    S'morning Glory!
    Bill S.

Mr. Dips, You dipped out on my S'more Morning Glory cone! The reason why you order a S'more is the melted chocolate with graham crackers and then you squeeze a hot marshmallow into the middle. Once you finish and lick your fingers clean, you then say: SMORE? I did not get any of the above mentioned, It felt like more like a S'no more. My wife and I was on the Pier 17 rooftop, it was hot up there but I knew there was ice cream below. We walked downstairs and I ordered a Morning Glory Cone. It comes with vanilla swirl soft serve ice cream, fudge graham and a campfire marshmallow. The Marshmallow was a cold Marshmallow, it was not heated or toasted. What is "Fudge Graham"? There was a chocolate dip on the outside but no graham cracker, not even a crumb. The soft serve Vanilla did not have any vanilla swirl, just sadness. Overall a nice cold treat but this ice cream is not ready to take on Big Gay Ice Cream or Shake Shack.

Really good fast food; the wings, and burgers are top notch. It's also down by the water by south street and has really good views. Didn't take a picture of my food as I gobbled it all down . lol, sue me

    Renee R.

Honestly, by far the best burgers, fries, chicken, and milkshakes, they have the coolest dipped ice cream cones. My kids love the spot like I wish they didn't because this place is kind of expensive and it would save me a lot of money, but they do love this spot and I can't lie. It is really good. The service is quick. Could smile more but we're here for the food not their smiles lol

Visited this eatery a few times and it never disappoints. The staff is always friendly, the space well kept, clean as well as the bathroom. The food is always on point. I always get the vegan burger with fries that are covered in delicious sauces and condiments. The various types of ice cream and beverages are always delicious. It's always a win-win visiting this eatery.

Loved the classic vanilla and chocolate soft serve. The shell was thin and held in the ice cream pretty well which was impressive. I loved the different varieties. It's pricey though.

    Evonne H.

Loved the waffles fries!! Crispy and flavorful.. Got the Christmas tree soft serve but too bad they had to put in cup so the Christmas tree soft serve was upside down ): ...the soft serve was very delicious tho ..

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

The hwe crudo was refreshing and delicious, and the salad was also a standout -- bright, crisp, and really well-balanced. But the best thing we had by far was the dak mandu, the crab/chicken dumplings. Those alone are worth coming back for. The ssam lettuce wraps were good, though they read a little more like Jewish brisket with a spicy bean sauce than what I expected from a Korean lettuce wrap. Still tasty, just a different vibe. Honestly, this would've been a 5-star meal if I didn't leave with three mosquito bites. Great food, great service, great wine -- just maybe bring bug spray.

The bar is very scenic so you will definitely feel like you are getting the full dining experience. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Make reservations for peak dining times in the evenings and on weekends. Many people walked in without reservations and were seated right away on Saturday evenings. Highly recommend trying their original cocktails ($18). We tried the flower child and the harvest moon. Both were tasty. I would get harvest moon again and again. Perfect balance of Tart, sweet refreshing and strong. Menu items change seasonally so it's delightful to try something new every time you visit. $21 potato croquettes were highly disappointing. Everyone recommended them highly, but I could not understand why. For such price, three tiny balls of fried potato should've been mind blowing, but they were underwhelming and forgettable at best. Skip. $24 giant ricotta stuffed raviolo was delightful. Such soothing comfort food. If I could eat just this, I would be happy. $26 fresh crudo was refreshing and light. Delicious cold broth/juice soup in which it was served. $32 Bronzino with mussels in a broth was superb. Light, crispy, and delicate. Would eat this dish for dinner Any night of the day. Balanced flavor profile. Could suit anyone who is picky about their food. $30 lamb neck was a solid dish. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and delicate and flavorful on the inside. Wish the portion was a bit bigger, especially the sides. $38 duck confit was highly advertised, however, it was underwhelming and the least stand out dish. It was solid, but nothing that I would order again or recommend. The duck was on the dry side. Definitely not enough sauce. The cabbage and the cabbage salad were good. Crispy and refreshing. The duck was not the star of this dish. $13 chocolate mousse with strawberry coulis was surprisingly delightful. So light and balanced. Not sweet, but just right to finish a meal. I could eat this dessert every day after every single meal. So simple, yet it hit the spot. Service is very fast and efficient. One of our readers was superb and provided stellar recommendations. Another waiter (young and inexperienced) was very shy and his energy felt very stifling.
