Have you ever been to a Brazilian Steak House with roving table service? What an interesting experience! Rodizio is a "churrascaria," which is a Brazilian restaurant specializing in barbecue. Located in the heart of the arena, District, Rodizio is a singular dining destination. Nothing quite like it anywhere nearby. There is a full salad bar, which is more like a food bar in actuality. Selections include traditional salad items of course, but also selections of pastas, vegetables, and other hot and cold food selections, as what can be best described "side dishes." This portion of the restaurant is self serve. There are of course menu items that can be ordered, but what most people come here for is the roving meat experience. A wide variety of beef, poultry, and other meat are regularly rotated throughout the dining area, by staff who act as carvers at your table. The word rodizio in Brazil actually means "rotation." Here's how it works: a meat server staff member, known as a "gaucho," will walk up to your table with a particular type of meat, and ask you if you would like a piece of that meat. If you reply, yes they will carve a piece from the larger cut of meat for you. These meats are hot, fresh from the kitchen, and ready to serve. This is how traditional Brazilian barbecues historically often work, in country. A carnivore's delight. The whole process is managed at table with a wooden peg/coaster, which is red on one end and green on the other. If the green side is up, that means the table wants to be served meats. On the other hand, if the red side is up, that means the table does not want to be served at that time. This is an immersive dining experience and very participatory. I find that it fosters conversation at the table with people you are attending with, and the entire restaurant is lively and vibrant. In town for work and wanted to enjoy a good meal. We headed over to Rodizio. It took a while for someone to acknowledge us. The restaurant wasn't that busy. Once greated, we were sat and given the overview. Soon, we were off to the salad bar. That was decent. Typical fare but other places seem to do it better. Soon, the meats were paraded by. We definitely got our full. Many were good. Some were just okay. But that's the beauty of a place like this. You get to try a lot of things. Service was good. Most of the food was good. We have eaten Brazilian Steakhouses all over (Louisville, KY; Lexington, KY; Pigeon Forge, TN; Hilton Head, SC; Chattanooga, TN; Indianapolis, IN) and this took the #1 spot! The meat was fresh and delicious, they kept it coming continuously, were generous with steaks (some restaurants seem heavy on the cheaper meats and limit the more expensive cuts). We were torn on which one to try in Columbus, but we chose correctly. 10/10 recommend. read more

If you're a meat lover looking for a place to have an absolute feast, Rodizio is an amazing option! This Brazilian grill specializes in meat of all types, including beef, chicken, pork, seafood, and lamb. It's such a fun experience since you are given a little wood tool with green and red sides as the servers walk around with the various meats. You can flip the stick to show green if you want the servers to stop at your table and offer you the assorted meat or flip it red if you're full/need a break and do not want them to serve you. Out of the many options that I tried, my favorites were the Coração de Frango Temperado (chicken hearts) which were slightly chewy, the grilled lamb, and the Presunto (grilled ham). Some of the meats are more seasoned/cooked than others so you can try a bunch and see what your favorites are! The grilled pineapple was also super juicy and such a refreshing combination with the meat. You can enjoy unlimited salad bar with the protein as well! I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options offered at the bar. They had so many different types of salad and sides, including ceviche and pickled beets, and grilled vegetables. They also had really good sauce options like their spicy sauces and churrasco sauce The servers were all very courteous and friendly. Yesterday on Friday, September 19, we went as a group of five adults and a 20 month old baby to Rodizio Grill to celebrate the birthdays of two people in our group. We had two birthday coupons prepared for the occasion. We arrived for our 6:30 p.m. reservation, and once seated, we immediately informed our server that one member of our group was pregnant and could not eat any meat cooked less than medium. The server acknowledged our request. We then went to the buffet, where we found that several items were lukewarm. During our first hour at the table, the meat rotation only included spicy chicken, parmesan chicken, and chicken hearts. They brought steak only once, and it was completely rare (just seared on the outside). We politely told the server about this and asked if they could bring medium-cooked meat instead, explaining again that we had a pregnant person in our group. The server agreed and assured us it was on its way. After an hour and twenty minutes in the restaurant, our server informed us that the birthday coupons automatically add a 20% gratuity to the bill. She then dropped the check at our table--without us asking for it and her without offering dessert. At this point, no properly cooked meat had been served yet, and the few that arrived continued to be very rare, not edible even. When another server came to pick up the check, we explained everything that had happened. She apologized, offered us free dessert, and once again assured us that medium-cooked meat would be on its way. Forty minutes later, a server finally brought out several cuts of meat on an extremely hot tray and placed it directly in front of the baby sitting at our table. The meat was completely overcooked, dried out, and portioned so small that it couldn't feed our group. Another server came by, questioned why the tray had even been placed on our table, and asked again if we wanted it. Thinking it was some sort of joke, we said no. He then removed the tray and immediately offered it to the table beside us. We never asked for any additional discounts and ended up paying our bill in full (it did include birthday discounts) At around 8:30 and two hours later with none of our requests being met, we asked the hostess at the front desk to validate our parking ticket so we wouldn't have to pay at the garage. She appeared to agree and acted as if she had done it, but when we tried to leave the garage, we discovered the ticket was never validated and we ended up having to pay. In short, we left hungry, upset and with the worst restaurant experience we've ever had, and it completely ruined our celebration. -10/10 read more

Went here for my 1st time as my birthday gift with my Daughter and her boyfriend. I only gave 4 stars just because it deserved a 5 but figured I give it benefit of doubt and wonder if it gets better. Make sure you go here hungry! It's all you can eat and we'll it's not cheap but I also generally felt it was semi worth the price because oh my the meat was excellent. This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was greeted right away as soon as I walked in. I had a reservation so the check in process went smooth I would recommend doing a reservation instead of showing up. As soon as we sat down let the food begin they started bring around the meat and it was very tasteful I might add. Made my way to the salad bar and they have a really nice selection of hot and cold items. The food was very fresh and good quality. Dropped by the Tuesday evening of Restaurant Week. Plenty of activity at the sports complexes, and the place was quite busy but very well-managed. Our serve, Jade, was delightfully friendly, fun, and helpful - we'd ask to be in her section again in a heartbeat. Food was excellent - the meats as well as the cold and hot bar items. Well done, Columbus Rodizio Grill! I have a feeling we'll be back before the end of Restaurant Week. As an aside: immeasurably better than TdB; far less pretentious, far better quality, much more lighthearted and friendly. Tremendous kudos to Rodizio Grill for using quality meats, authentic seasonings, and thoughtful preparation instead of relying on MSG-loading and salt-crusting that the 'other' Brazilian steakhouse uses to compensate for lack of quality and rushed preparation. Rodizio Grill is a really delicious and unique place for any special event. I have been a few times but my most recent visit was on New Year's Eve. It is located in the Arena District and parking isn't too bad with a garage located behind it. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The lighting was nice, not too dark but also not blinding us. We started with some drinks and I had one of the specialties for the holiday which was a Brazilian take on a French 75. It was really delicious and I would order it again. The trick to getting your moneys worth is to not fill up on the sides but it's hard when they are so delicious! I had some mashed potatoes, alfredo pasta, roasted squash, polenta sticks, and my absolute favorite which is the cheese bread. I'm not alone in loving this as the tray of it was almost always empty. Luckily we had a good view of the bar and would watch to see when it was refilled. Last time I was here, our server brought the cheese bread, polenta sticks, and cinnamon bananas to the table in a little bowl but I think it makes more sense to have it on the salad bar. If you've never been to a Brazilian steakhouse, servers walk around with giant skewers of all kinds of meat. They will stop by your table and introduce it and if you want it you'll get a piece or however many you want or a slice if it's beef. My favorite of the meats are the sweet and spicy chicken, parmesan chicken, and the glazed ham. The beef is all pretty good but I can't taste a real difference between them, that is my main gripe. Also, I got a cut of beef and after he walked away I found it was 100% fat which was a bummer. You absolutely HAVE to get the pineapple and I recommend getting at least 2 slices when they come to your table as it's very popular and doesn't come around a ton. Their dessert selections are also really nice. The cinnamon bananas are included but I recently also ordered what was described as a Brazilian churro. It had more of a donut texture than a churro but it was fried and then tossed in cinnamon sugar and was very good. My biggest advice would be to come here very very hungry and pace yourself. You don't need to say yes to every meat on their first pass. By only having 1 or 2 at a time I was able to enjoy a lot more than others at my table. I look forward to my next visit! read more

Service was mid...we seemed to have several different servers who did not communicate...they each would ask us the same thing over and over. The Gauchos were better, prompt and very friendly. -1 star from my previous review. Last evening we dined at Rodizio and I won't be back until post-COVID times. If you go just for the meat parade, that part is still the same and very delicious. If you're into the salad bar and buffet--it's closed. Servers come around with pre-made salads and greens but it's weird. I asked for onions for the mixed lettuce I got and they didn't have them. I get it's unsafe to have an all access area for diners with food setting out right now, but pricing should be reconsidered and/or a house salad a la carte option. A lot of restaurants have a limited menu right now and Rodizio would be smart to offer a written menu of family-style salads and sides to go with the meats to alleviate frustration and confusion for those who'd like the buffet & salad bar options brought to the table. read more

I am a meat lover and for any meat lover, this is the place to be. I always end up eating too much, but it's so much fun because the meat is so good! As long as you keep your "bring more" signal up, the waiters will keep bringing meat-all kinds, from filet Mignone to garlic need to lamb to shrimp to chicken... all cooked to delectable perfection. The salad bar makes it easy for you to choose the non-meat foods you want, and again, the selection is broad. It's a great place for kids/though maybe a little pricy-because they can get what they want. Meat plus salad or deviled eggs or any number of green salads or vegetables or carbs. The restaurant is well-laid out, allowing spaces for families or groups. The waiters are knowledgeable, neat, and professional. Parking can be a challenge ( the restaurant is in the brewery district) but there is a garage right down the street that restaurant patrons use. If you are lucky enough to find a place on the street to park, you pay a meter which you can do online if you have a parking app. I live this place. I think you will, too!! read more

Really conflicted in grading this place. I really wanted to give it 5 stars, but I will explain why in a moment i settled for giving it 3 stars. My boss, myself and a supervisor for the company I work for decided to have dinner together. We were in the area for a conference that was being given at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. After a full day of classes, handling work emails/calls in between classes and then actually teaching a class ourselves we were very hungry. This was especially the case as the breakfast and lunch given at the convention center was awful, causing us to only eat a few bites. Moreover, i was especially hungry because I was the main teacher of the class. We wanted food! We wanted lots of food! We found on yelp Rodizio, and decided a Brazilian steakhouse was the way to go! We came in and were originally led to our table with no wait. We were then greeted by our waiter. Wish i had written down his name, he was God awful? How awful? Well we ask what alcohol there is to drink... no drink menu it seems. He couldn't tell us... besides general info like wine, beer. Really wow?!?! Beer and wine?!?!? Thank you for that info! My boss asks what light beers you have on tap. He gave us all a deer in a headlights look, and responded: whats light beer? 1) How do you work in a restaurant as a server and not know what alcohol is sold? 2) How do you lack such basic info on what light beers are? We ended up just telling him we would go to the bar to see. So instead of being served, we had to do the work. I go to the bartender and ask... "hey do you have any ciders." The bartender responded, "I don't know". How do you not know? Eventually after looking everywhere in the bar, he finds out he has Angry Orchard, and I order one. The evening does get better. Once all those meats start coming... oh my! My stomach was happy. The meats were brought by various individuals who would go from table to table and carve pieces of meat to leave on your plate. Lamb, chicken wrapped bacon, so many cuts of steak, I don't even remember how much I consumed. All the food was delicious, succulent, juicy... utterly amazing! It certainly satisfied my great hunger that I had due to a long day where I had not had anything to eat! And then the waiter ruined it some more. He came and asked us how was our meal. We all stated how happy we were with the meal. He then asked if we would like the check. My boss said yes. Right when my boss turned around after answering him, I caught the waiter rolling his eyes at him. Yeah... that was unprofessional. I didn't mention it because if it would have caused problems... and i would rather go to a bar and have a drink. Great restaurant, superior food, and a great staff who serve the food. My friends and I made this our stop for restaurant week. I was disappointed in the experience. I typically choose $30-$40 menus to explore. So, Since I've never gone, we decided to give them a shot for $30. They had a decent amount of a meat selection, but the meats that we tried were salty, rubbery, and some overcooked. Our fav option of the night turned out to be the warm pineapples. The mash potatoes were good and the other sides from the buffet were good. The ambiance in the restaurant wasn't the best. It made me feel enclosed. Because i care about overall experience. Their restaurant menu did not include dessert but you could purchase dessert at a discounted rate. My friends and I pretty much agreed that this wasn't best experience for a Brazilian steakhouse. Yes, They have lots of options but the quality and experience was not what I'd expect since this is typically a $40 meal. read more

The last time I had Brazilian steakhouse was when I got married, a year and a half ago. I had gone with my best friend and groomsman, and we had a jolly good time at a Brazilian steakhouse in Greater LA. I decided it was time to revisit a Brazilian steakhouse. I planned to come here with several close friends, at my wife. We booked a reservation, which was necessary. This Brazilian steakhouse is fairly standard like the rest. There was a salad bar with some soups, cheese breads, and salads. There was all you can eat cuts of meat that came out at a super fast pace, so long as your buffet "button" was set to green. With any Brazilian steakhouse, the cut I always look for is the picanha (top sirloin). I got several cuts of it, and it was amazing. Super tender, and the small ring of fat on the side is amazing. I also loved the spicy chicken and the bacon wrapped ham. The cuts came out so quickly, I had trouble keeping track of all of them. There was also grilled pineapple, which was quite sweet from the caramelization. The salad bar was ok. The ceviche was nothing special. The bread was slightly dry. The potato salad wasn't too bad. Overall, solid Brazilian steakhouse. As with all steakhouses, definitely pricey. Not the best I've ever had, but a good experience for sure. read more

Me and my husband have tried other steakhouses and were expecting this to be really good. I was honestly disappointed in the meat and the service from the guys coming around with the meat. We were barely served any meat but the table behind us was getting every server. The meat was also very salty in our opinions. Our waiter was great and kept our drinks full, showed us the dessert display, and got us or check quickly so we could head out. I would say the best thing was the New York style cheesecake. The portion sizes offered by the servers of the meats was terrible. The salad bar was subpar. The dining room looks like it could use some work. Salmon with passion fruit sauce was so delicious! I do not like lemon or citrus flavors in my seafood but this was tart and savory. Loved it! Okay so we called ahead ... party of 10... guy on the phone says they can accommodate us and it'll be 20% tip no big deal, we arrived at 2:36p, the hostess fails to say if there is a wait of any sort says she's getting the table ready. Another large party arrived and immediately was seated no issue. We didn't get seated until 3:10 no waiter just sitting.... after asking the hostess can we be seated. I asked her what's the issue considering we call she stated waiting on a waiter and that we must've spoken to a manager who shouldn't have said whatever they said. Her attitude was nasty, this should've been my sign to leave. Immediately I requested a manager, I waited and never seen a manager. My waiter finally arrived and he made up for the rudeness we experienced. He made sure we had NONSTOP food. Sides were full of bacon - we don't eat pork. They should've advertised the bacon fest. I went to this restaurant yesterday for friends wedding anniversary. So we were with a group of around 14 people. CAVEAT: I have been to many Brazilian BBQs, so I definitely have a higher bar than the average person. It was not busy, we had an attentive and pleasant server who seemed to be a little overwhelmed. I believe it would've been better to have two servers for our group, but they may have been understaffed. I got the salad bar only and the limeade drink (wonderful drink, don't know what it's made of, but it's milky and frothy). The salad bar was an atrocity. 3/4 of the salad bar had something in it. But even the little bit that was stocked, still needed to be refilled. I told one of the servers that everything on the salad bar needed to be refilled, I also told our server. She advised that they had a large group at 1pm. Well it was 4pm -- so I'm not clear on why the salad bar was looking like they were about to close at 4pm. One of the best things that I like about Brazilian BBQs is actually the bread. I can eat baskets of that bread--except the bread here. The bread here needs some help, it's way too small and way too salty. So needless to say, I will NOT return here when I want to go to a Brazilian BBQ they are definitely operating on mediocrity. read more

I chose to visit Rodizio because I wanted picanha for my birthday. I was underwhelmed with the salad bar offerings, but noticed the floor was extremely sticky. Very off-putting. The sides looked like they had been sitting out on the warmers for a while, but will say the feijoada was pretty good. The biggest disappointment was the meats. Most of them were overcooked and what was coming around looked like scraps and they were only carving off very small pieces. The service, the drinks, and flan were good and that's why this is a 3 and not a 2. read more

We came on 6pm on a Sunday, we had a RSVP and the place was empty and we still waited for 10 minutes to be sat. We get sat in the corner away from everyone, our server came was very nice and helpful, got our drinks. Salad bar was sub par nothing to right home about it, took away until we saw any red meat. Everything was over cooked, tough, or tasted terrible. We left after 20 minutes, they took off one entree but by doing so had to add 20% gratuity but of the original bill price so was 22 dollars which was the price of the entree they took away... so I paid 85 dollars to eat some canned pasta and overcooked tasteless meat and still pay exactly what I would have anyway read more

The strolling servers (I'm guessing OSU students) were great and had good attitude and energy, but they weren't around as often as we would have liked. Just two of us for a birthday dinner (which I noted in the online reservation app but was not acknowledged). Bigger tables and other eating areas seemed to get more attention, and skewers were thin or dried out by the time they hit our area. Once the meal was over we both felt as if we actually had less than 4oz of skewered protein in total, to be honest, and that the selections were not varied. The self-serve items were just okay and absolutely paled in comparison to the spread thrown down at fogo de chao or texas de brazil. Our Server must've been new, they didn't offer/suggest drinks nor dessert (both of which btw do cost additional). But hey...what protein we did yet to try was pretty decent and we left with full bellies - even if our wallets were unfortunately a bit lighter than expected for the overall value received.
