Came her for a class with Pasta Social and knew we had to come back to try the food and get some Turkish desserts. I ordered the chicken iskender and it was absolutely delicious! I didn't take a photo at the restaurant because I was so excited to dive into it. So attached is the other half I had for lunch the next day. The portion size of this meal was huge! The chicken was so tender and the tomato butter sauce was so velvety and bursting with flavor. My husband ordered the beef wrap with a side of hummus; which was super creamy! All the food was incredibly tasty. The owner was also very sweet and gave us some apple tea to try while we waited for our food. It was so good! I liked that it wasn't overly sweet but had a really good flavor to it. My husband also ordered a Turkish coffee and wow, I don't think I've ever tried a coffee that had so much flavor to it. It was wonderful. Lastly, we also ordered some Turkish delights to take home which are absolutely divine. Ordered for pickup when I was nearby since I've had this place bookmarked for a while (always looking for döner spots). The lot parking is shared with the adjacent grocery store. When I went in, my lamb tandir lavash wrap was still being made, but it was nice seeing the food made to order and I did not wait long. Nice staff, clean space, and the lamb was juicy and tender. I wanted to speak to the chef but didn't have a chance to--I hope they're doing okay given recent events in Turkiye and I made it a point to finally come and try the food as a way to indirectly show support. Their "yelp top places" plaque is proudly displayed on the counter so hopefully more people continue to come around and support this local business. P.S. Do redeem the yelp check-in offer (free baklava). I usually don't get baklava, but as someone else also mentioned, Mito's is special enough to reconsider. Amazing food, service, and hospitality. My family and I dined here last week and were very pleased with the food and the service we received. The restaurant is very well kept, as everything was very clean. I ordered the chicken shish with rice and jijak, it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My family members all enjoyed their plates very much as well. We ended our meal with dessert (baklava, Dubai chocolate cake, and tiramisu) and Turkish tea. Everything was delicious. The young man who took our order was very kind in sharing what their most popular plates are. Mito, the owner, introduced himself to us and chatted with us. He was a very pleasant individual. What an absolute delight. Mitos is a beautiful contemporary Turkish Donor & Cafe. I had the beef & lamb Donor, the flavor was an absolute party for my flavor buds. Such a great hidden (literally) gem! We are new to the area and I stumbled upon Mito's while at Smart and Final. This is a very clean, well organized place and the staff were very nice and helpful. I took some time to order and ended up ordering; dolma, choban salata, and a chicken lavish wrap with all the fixings. All were well prepared, very fresh, extremely tasty, and generous portions were provided. I ordered to go to share my selections and we all agree, we will be back. While waiting I was offered a sample of the carrot salad and I cannot wait to go back and eat a full order. If I was forced to pick, it was my favorite bite. However, the service felt a little bit rushed as though they couldn't be bothered, and the food is good / fresh, but doesn't taste Turkish at all. I got a chicken döner wrap and it didn't take anything like authentic food from Turkey, which was a little bit disappointing considering the price point as well. Service - upon walking in i felt a bit lost as i wasn't; sure what to order but wanted to give the food a try. The male staff were just passing back and forth without offering any help. But then a friendly woman stepped up and made sure I knew if I had any questions, she was there to answer. Food: I went with a chicken doner wrap (everything on it) with the yogurt sauce. I asked if there was a spicy option to add to the wrap and the friendly woman offered "chili oil" which I accepted on the side. The chili oil was to die for if you like heat on your meals. I also tried the rice pudding which I liked. I'd order the same again. Very flavorful. Next time I'll order a plate and probably from the appetizers to give it a try too. Mitos Doner Cafe was such a lovely experience from the moment I walked in. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming, and the ambiance instantly made me want to stay awhile. The Turkish delights literally made me do a happy dance, and the Turkish coffee was made perfectly, pure bliss. I already plan to come back regularly, not just for an actual meal (which I can't wait to try), but also to sit, read, and even get a little work done. The owner, who was the kindest and sweetest lady, mentioned they offer Wi-Fi, which just made me love this place even more. Mediterranean food is one of my favorite types of cuisine ! This is my first time trying Turkish food. As the label states, they offer "the other Mediterranean" style of food. I'd give this place a 3.5/5. I'm rounding up my rating for my interaction with the staff. I ordered the beef zaza with all the fixings, the eggplant salad and the dolma for curbside pick up since I had my little one napping the car. I called the restaurant to let them know I arrived. I had the pleasure of speaking with who I believed to be was one of the owners. She informed me my food would be a few more minutes and told me to get comfortable and they'd bring it out as soon as it was ready. I'd never tried any of these items before, so I don't have anything to compare this experience to. I enjoyed the zaza! It was filling yet light at the same time. I'm typically a huge fan of all things eggplant. I wasn't too big of a fan of the eggplant salad because it was REALLY Smokey. The texture was nice and smooth, but the flavor was a little overwhelming for me. The dolmas were decent. I was expecting the filling to be more flavorful. First let me start off by saying I was very skeptical of visiting this establishment due to such high ratings. I was like, is Yelp buying reviews now? Well, I ended up visiting this establishment earlier today. I was pleased to have been greeted from the moment I walked in by Mito himself. Food was very significant in size (I got a chicken wrap with extra pickled veggies and garlic yogurt sauce) the lavash (bread) was huge and probably measure over a foot long in length when wrapped. Due to its size it was a bit messy to eat since they were not stingy with their sauce, but they provide you with a wet wipe as they probably assume it'll be a delicious mess. As we sat eating our foot long wraps Mito came up to us and asked if we have had their apple mineral water and baklava. We didn't order any drinks but decided to try the Turkish apple mineral water. It was very refreshing and sweeter than a lacroix, but still very light and refreshing. But let me tell you about the baklava. For years I thought I didn't like baklava. I'd always order it again, to give it another shot and because they look very appetizing but again, never found myself liking it. So had it not been for Mito I would not have given his baklava a try. And boy am I glad I did. Hands down the best baklava I've ever had. As to why I placed two orders to go, cause my sister and dad also did not think they favored baklava. 3 pieces for 5.50 is an easy sell if baklava tastes like this one. Overall I had a great conversation with Mito (owner) who takes the time to share all the thought he puts into all his dishes. I Can tell food is his passion and I appreciated all he was willing to share with us about his experience as a chef, sharing his food with others and all the thought that goes into his restaurant here in Pomona. Great doner wrap, I went with the Zaza aka lahmajoun instead of the lavash and boy was that a great decision. It was absolutely delicious! I also tried the chobani salata and that too was really delicious sorta reminded me of tabloule but minus the rice or whatever is in that. Anyways it's a must try if you're in the area, if you live close then it's a great local wrap shop. So far in America it has been the closest to the doner I've tried in Europe and Istambul. read more

When my wife and I put this place on our list of restaurants to try during this visit to So Cal, visions of our trip to Istanbul (not Constantinople) a few years ago came rushing back. That amazing durum at Durumzade, the testy kebab at Aloran Cafe in Sultanahmet, balik ekmek fresh off the boat and those amazing flavors from dinner at Pasazade. It is with such anticipation that we came into this place. The colorful menu was on the wall...took some time to get acquainted with it. When we were finally ready to order, this affable man offered to help us. My wife tried their Zaza Wrap (lahmajun) ($8.49) and I ordered the Doner Lavash Wrap ($14.49). We also had a couple of Diet Cokes ($5.58 for 2) to go with our meals. Service was a bit slow, probably because there was a large to go order before our order was processed. Our meals weren't served at the same time with the Zaza wrap served perhaps 3-5 minutes before the doner wrap. My wife thought her wrap was OK, not quite as meaty as the lahmajun we sampled during our travel to Istanbul...and my doner wrap also had good flavors but did not bring back memories of Durumzade. All in all, the flavors were good but we thought the value wasn't there. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just under $38. NOTE: this place doesn't have a public restroom so be forewarned. read more

Just came back from Mitos and the experience was exceptional. Food was beyond great from the sides to the doner. Service over exceeded the standards of hospitality. Especially the front of the house girl she gave samples to try the sides and they were all great. While I was eating a lady also gave me some Turkish tea on the house. It could have been enough food for 2 meals but I still ate all of it in one sitting, and chased it with a baklava (Yelp check-in offer) and Turkish coffee 1 sugar. Chef/owner was there and he's friendly and will help you order the right item if you are unsure what to try. If you know what you want, there's an ordering kiosk to keep things efficient. Great Kebap! We came on a Saturday night within an hour of closing. They had the chairs on the tables already, but were nice enough to still take our order. An older gentleman helped us order and input it on a tablet in the front. If you get the chance DEFINITELY dine in instead of doing take out, unless the drive is gonna be mega short. We drove about 20 min back and although it was still warm, the oil seeped completely through the butcher wrapping paper and made some of the wrap a bit soggy. Despite this, the food was very enjoyable and we scarfed it all down super fast. We got the: 1) Wrap: -The wrap is made out of lavash bread and you get a choice of protein, toppings, and sauce. -We got that Doner Kebap because of the restaurant's namesake. It's a combination of beef and lamb, all of the toppings, and the spicy mayo for the sauce. -All toppings included: hot peppers, tomatoes, parsley, onions, cabbage, pickled red cabbage, pickles, and roasted red peppers. -This wasn't bad but since it leaked a lot of juices (definitely from the all the toppings...) it became a bit soggy and the pickle juices soaked in the bread made it a tad more sour than what's ideal. -The actual doner kebap meat was really moist and flavorful though. Each bite was a nice mix of lamb and beef. -I don't think I'd get this again, but only because the Zaza was so freaking good. 2) Zaza -ABSOLUTE MVP. -Extremely delicious and a great deal when you think about it. -It's a Turkish pizza and you can choose a filling of beef, vegan, or falafel. -We got the beef and the pizza is freshly baked and it's wrapped kinda like a half tortilla burrito with all the fixings inside. -We also got all the toppings for this one, but I guess with the way it was wrapped and that the lavash bread was baked and crispier, maybe it created less of a juice leakage? Not entirely sure. -The minced beef with veggies was seasoned to perfection. This is a good thing, and not an insult but it tasted like a way better taco meat if that makes sense. Super good. -This was under $10, so I'd 100% get it again. All of the food was prepared for us while we were waiting and it was nice to see them put so much care in seasoning and adding all the toppings in evenly. Would go again for the Zaza! read more
