The waitress was very unpersonable. Very inattentive. She wouldnt say hi. She would walk up. Ask what you want and then leave the moment you said your dish. Didnt give you time to say which protien you'd like in your dish. Wouldn't ask what kind of skewer you wanted for your lunch combo. So my Togo lunch is missing its side... since she walked off before taking my full order. She would also spend most of her time out of view so you couldn't flag her down if you needed anything. However. The food here is amazing! Best pad ka pow iv ever had. And when I do get my skewer... its soooo delicious! I hope my tip just goes to the kitchen staff and not so much the waitress.

We tried this place for the first time and I'm glad we did. Everything we had was delicious! We both had their lunch special. My father-in-law chose fried egg rolls and a chicken pad Thai. Mine was a papaya salad and shrimp red curry with purple sticky rice. We also had a side order of lemongrass beef skewers. Service was excellent. Servings are not huge which I very much appreciated. Prices were good. My only gripe was how small the place is, there's really no privacy so if you're looking for a spacious restaurant with privacy, this is not it. However, the food is authentic and really good so you can bet this won't be the last time I'd be coming here.

Maybe some of the best Thai food I've eaten in the States, served in a cozy site with a bistro vibe. The butterfly pea tea was delightful, a little too sweet for my taste, but our server provided some club soda which toned it down a little. Favorite dishes were the smoky salmon cooked in banana leaf, pork belly with garlicky greens, and fish cake. Mitr means friendship, and couldn't think of a more perfect little place to share with friends,

Excellent food. Enjoyed the pad Thai which was presented very nicely even though it was to go. Taste was on point. I called it in and it was ready in 10 mins. Very nice inside there too. Great little restaurant.

Second time at Mitr Ping and it was great again. Hubby and I had an early dinner there tonight and tried several things. We sat in the cubby corner which was warm and cozy! Egg rolls & "Thai tacos"(Kratong Thong) starters both fresh and very good. Hubby ordered the Grilled Chicken Combo - good sauces and papaya salad. I ordered the Cashew Nut stir fry with chicken - all the veggies were so fresh in a light sauce. Pics attached - even though the dishes are partly eaten . Service was great - Sabrina was very friendly and attentive to us. We will return!

Why did it take me so long to walk through their doors!! I work in their neighborhood, drive by them twice a day!! Holy flavor Batman!! This little slice of heaven is a must stop if you like Thai food and are in the area. They have Gluten free and vegan options! We were gleefully welcomed and told to seat ourselves! Topher was our waiter and he was wonderful! So friendly, warm and inviting! Clearly has a passion for their food and loved making suggestions! He was terrific at explaining some of the menu items! The plates are perfectly timed, sized and seasoned!! Everything that came to the table was cooked with passion and love! I can't wait to go back, especially since they recently opened for lunch and they are in my work neighborhood!!

The place is very cute. The food is absolutely amazing and the people are very nice. 100% recommend.

As a native Thai, I was surprised to find a good Thai restaurant here in Maine. I visited here from SoCal and told my family don't expect much for Thai food here but it was really good. Staffs here are very friendly, service was great. If you come visit Portland Maine and crave for Thai food come try this place!

When you walk into Mitr, you walk into very delicious territory! My husband and I knew that it was more sensible to get take out, as it was at the tail end of a big snow storm, but the promise of hot tea in lovely tea cups on a brutally cold day, drew us in. When we arrived, there were many seats available, which I am certain was a silver lining of the snow storm as Mitr has been pretty packed since opening. On the other hand, there are not a lot of tables, but those within are cozy and comfortable. Not only did hot tea come right away, but there were options. We chose Jasmine and continued getting hot water refills throughout our meal! Here's what we ordered: Kratong thong-Typically love this, Mitr's version was a twist, serving them taco style. There were three which was a difficult number to share between two. Pork skewers-Very tasty, three skewers, which again made sharing awkward between two people. Crying tiger-Very delicious steak with sticky rice, easy to share Salmon with coconut and sticky rice-Fantastic, excellent in every way!!!!! Mango with warm sticky rice-Solid We loved the flavors! Our servers were kind and attentive. My only suggestion would be to serve the apps in even numbers so that two can share with more ease, otherwise, we loved Mitr and will return soon!

You can really taste the care and authenticity in every dish. We stopped here for dinner during our Portland trip, and my husband and I ordered a bunch of dishes to share so we could try as much as possible. We had different types of skewers, quail eggs, calamari, beef panang, and stir-fried noodles. And of course, we had to finish with their famous black sticky rice with coconut. There wasn't a single bad dish. Everything was delicious, well seasoned, and tasted authentic. Each dish had its own unique flavor profile, and nothing felt boring or one dimensional. The ambiance was also really cute and cozy, making it a great spot for a date night or a nice dinner with someone special. The service was phenomenal too. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and incredibly fast without making us feel rushed. Honestly, I'd come back to Portland just to eat here again. Definitely a must try if you're looking for flavorful, authentic Thai food!

Kra Pao chicken was delicious too. Grilled rice ball was meh, too salty. Desserts were ok, nothing too crazy. Pro tip: there's a public parking spot a block away, made parking much easier vs trying to find a street parking.

Close to more bars for extra drinks, easy to run into other friends. Also, it's a beautiful spot with outdoor seating in the warmer months. We opted to sit outside and enjoyed khao soi, katsu pork sandwich, and the honey soft serve. The portions are generous, as we were able to share and have leftovers. Each plate had so many great textures and flavors. We did experience a long wait between ordering, getting food, and receiving the check. It was a busy summer night so I wasn't upset, but do not plan on having a quick meal here. Get cozy, get an extra drinks and enjoy your time here. Service: Great Food: We started off with soft serve and the seasonal earl gray outshined the house honey. The earl gray had a great flavor topped with an excellent syrup while the honey was mild and the chocolate shell didn't add anything, although the 'honeycomb' bits were delic. Crispy eggplant special - good, very small portion Pork katsu sandwich - pretty solid, interesting pickle Pad mee korat - good, small portion Value: Aside from the soft serve, the portions were very small for ~$17 price point, and the food was good but aside from the earl gray soft serve, didn't amaze to the point of paying a higher price point. Overall I did like this meal but portions were small for prices. I hope they keep the earl gray soft serve around!

Miso soup was delicious and hearty - just what you need on a cold day outside. Both, noodles and fried rice were great. Btw their spice levels are catered to North American taste buds, so if you're an Asian just tell them highest spice levels and you'll probably still feel like moderate. First thing to note is that the menu seems to have changed substantially, offering more Thai-adjacent and pan-Asian food than authentically Thai food. I ordered their coconut soup (Tom Kha; $10) to start and a local mushroom bowl as my main--both vegan by default. It took a while for the food to come out--maybe 20 mins for the soup and another 15 for the main. The soup was nicely seasoned, maybe being a bit too thick, and not allowing the galangal/lime leaf to breathe as much as it should. But I liked how it came with red pepper, tomato, mushroom and tofu. The main was not really Thai at all, coming with a rather stingy portion of tempeh, two kinds of mushrooms, red pepper, Lima beans, and microgreens. Reasonably seasoned but just not that interesting. Overall, disappointing relative to my previous experience, but still pretty good.
