They have lunch specials from $9.99-$11.99 each includes soup and white rice which is pretty cheap. We ordered beef with satay sauce, pork chop with Peking style flavor sauce, braised string bean, crispy pan-fried flounder and we also ordered seafood chow mein for to go. They first served us the complimentary soup and it was pretty good. The crispy pan-fried flounder portion size was a bit small but the fish was crispy. It had so much bones and not much meat through. (I would give 3 out of 5 stars) Braised string bean was a bit salty (3 out of 5 stars) Pork chop with peking style flavor sauce was way too sour and the flavor was so strong. We usually like this kind of pork chop but their taste was way too sour. (2.5 out of 5 stars) The last dish was beef with satay sauce. It was greasy and oily and the sliced beef were so small. Flavor was kinda salty too. (2.5 out of 5 stars) We haven't tried the seafood chow mein yet. Service was mediocre. We think that the overall score would be 2.5-3 stars even though the price was good. I used to come here all the time as kid with my big group family. The name is different now but very happy that the type of food/deals/atmosphere is still the same as it was 15 plus years ago. Plus they still have the lunch deals even on weekends. Definitely a great place to go to for lunch if you have a big group and not looking to spend too much. The service was excellent. They seated us right away and came out with tea and cups as soon as we sat. They even have complimentary soup which they bring along with the tea. I came here with my family on a Saturday. I asked my mom to modify two dishes to vegan dishes for me so I can join my family to eating lunch. They have lunch specials from 11am-6pm. My mom ordered me deep fried tofu, and buddha's delight (veggie stir fry) . I was a little upset when the waiter didn't feel like asking the staff how the food was made, but he reassured me that those dishes are not cooked in animal Products. We tried to flag down another server and he said we had to wait because he was busy. All my friend wanted was a glass of water. We reminded him again 15-20 minutes later and he said we still had to wait. So we didn't give him a good tip. He followed is out of the restaurant when he say how much we left. Very good value lunch deal! The restaurant opens at 11 am, and because it is close to my work, I was able to try it on a Friday recently. After I parked (parking lot is not too big, but can street park), there were already people waiting for it to open. So I know this place has been approved by its customers. The interior is nice and the price is super good! I ordered a Kung Pao chicken lunch special, including a big bowl of rice and soup (猪骨汤）for only $11.01! Food is okay, typical HK cafe/ Cantonese style food, but the prices for lunch are very reasonable. We had yau choy, Kung po shrimp, poached chicken with ginger scallion sauce, and crispy pata. My aunt complained that the crispy pata here although crispy isn't as good as the other restaurant they were going to take me. The restaurant dining area seemed clean and fairly spacious. Thus far, I have tried the following. I like this place. The food is good, not greasy and some of the dishes are made differently than the usual way. It's nice to have a change. Beef Stew and Rice Rolls in Sizzling Pot- The beef was soft. There are some pieces that may be a little bit tough, but overall, all of the beef stew pieces were soft. The rice rolls were great. The only thing that was different was the tangy/sourness flavor. It could have been the vinegar. I didn't particular like it but after a while, I got use to it. But overall, still a great dish. Chinese Broccoli with Dried Fish & Ginger Sauce- it was good. Great texture. Salt and Pepper Shrimp- This is really good! fried sticky rice with preserved meat-They made it with peanuts! It's very different from the usual dish you find at other places, but I liked it. It was also pretty light, not as heavy and flavorful as the usual either. If you're looking for a lighter fried sticky rice dish, this is the place. Singapore Style Fried Vermicelli- I liked this one too. It had lots of shrimp inside and the noodles were great texture. This place is a new traditional Chinese restaurant. I'm not sure which place it took over. Located on Valley near Salju, there is a parking lot with plenty of spaces on the side. The restaurant is decorated nicely and had good spacing between tables. There is also a secluded room with seating for 15-20 for private events. Came here with my family for dinner on a Tuesday night around 5:30. Since we got there pretty early, there was no wait and we got seated very quickly. The menu looks very similar to other traditional Chinese places in the area. Service was slow for us. There was only one server going around taking orders, and it ended up taking us around 15 minutes to ever get our order put in. That being said, the food came out pretty quickly. It started with soup (included), which I thought tasted kind of weird at first, until I realized that I was a Bittermelon soup. We ordered the fried fish, seafood chow mein, tofu & veggies, and string beans. The fish was really good. Very crispy, good flavor, and nice sauce complimenting the dish. This was definitely one of my favorite dishes of the night. In second was probably the tofu dish which had nice flavors and very good consistency for the tofu. The string beans and seafood chow mein were good but not great. All in all, I think this place was slightly above average. The food tasted good and prices were decent, but nothing stood out too much for me personally. The slow service and difficulty ordering with the language barrier brings this down a notch as well. The soup and rice usually comes out at the beginning but we didn't get it and had to ask for it. They finally gave us the rice and soup after receiving the food around 12:49pm. They are very disorganized and need to figure out a better system to keep things moving quick. Would I come back to eat at the restaurant? No I wouldn't. When we get to sit down and ready to order, waitress don't take any orders so we waited a long time before we can get our orders in with a waiter. Very busy and understaff. Newly renovated restaurant, so ambiance isn't so bad. Food isn't so bad, I was not much a of big fan of the Deep fried Flounder but it was good for the price. The batter they use was very thick and absorbed all the deep fried oil. Braised pork was very delicious flavors but needed to be braised a little longer for the pork belly to be melted in your mouth but still very delicious. I really enjoyed the sweet and sour pork, very big pieces. Definitely would order it again. Also would come here again because the lunch special comes with soup and rice! My family was interested in trying out this restaurant because it was close by and they offered a lunch special deal. This afternoon my mom came to order 9+ items to-go during their lunch special. After she paid for her order and waited an hour to pick up the items, she double checked each box prior to leaving the restaurant. She noticed missing items and one entirely incorrect order, so she spoke with who we are assuming is the manager, to receive the correct orders. She received beef and broccoli instead of beef and bittermelon. The man didn't apologize after realizing he mixed her order with another to-go order and abruptly switched them out. 2 of the orders included shrimp (pepper salt shrimp and a shrimp stir fry) but she didn't receive the pepper salt shrimp and instead got a squid dish. The man proceeded to give her attitude and said that she was trying to get free items without having to pay for them ?? Then he took all of her items, told her that the entire charge would be voided, and told the workers to toss the items in the trash ?? My mom is a very patient person and she was only trying to receive the correct items that she PAID for. Came here unplanned. Was going to go to another place I found on Yelp but the wait was too long. While u turning to find another place, saw the grand opening sign on this building and decided to drop in. Went to the front to get a number to get in line. Mandarin and Cantonese speaking only so make sure to listen up so you don't miss your number. They have lunch specials from 11a to 6p daily starting at $9.99. The decor is very simple, low key, nothing fancy. The give you a fresh disposable table cloth with each new customer. While waiting for your order, you'll receive complimentary soup. I really liked the soup, it was very mild, not too salty and very comforting. I highly recommend the squab. It actually went up in price- they crossed off the old price and relabeled as $16.99. You must eat it when it's freshly made because the skin is crispy and delicious and the meat of moist and full of flavor. The green beans very excellent, crunchy and delicious, makes it want to eat more vegetables. Of course it was bathing in oil but let's not focus on that right now. The clams in black bean sauce is also very good. I didn't like the imperial cold chicken. Also ordered the beef broccoli, it was fine. The meat tasted like normal chicken, soft, instead of free range chewier yummy chicken. You also get complimentary rice and teas with free refills.
