As appetizers we ordered a vegetable roll and vegetable and shrimp tempura. The roll was filled with fresh veggies and avocado. The tempura consisted of 3 shrimp and sweet potatoes and squash and other things i don't recall. Both appetizers were really good. Diner 1 had cold buckwheat noodles; they were served in two swirls on a plate and looked lovely! They came with a bowl of a yummy sauce with ice in it to keep the noodles cold while dipping. Very tasty. I ordered the chicken katsu dinner that came with miso soup, pickled daikon, a cabbage salad, rice and a delish sauce for dipping. The chicken was a tender and juicy and the panko coating was crunchy. Everything accompanying the chicken was very good. Diner 3 ordered a bowl of soup with udon noodles, veggies, shrimp and deliciousness! Three meals out of that bowl! Our server, Leewon, was very friendly and very helpful. She answered all our questions and was friendly as well as helpful. This is a terrific little place and worth the wait!

I'm giving this restaurant one star purely because of the service. When we arrived, there were many open tables clearly visible, yet we were told it was a reservation-based wait only. No real explanation was given, and there was no effort to be accommodating or transparent. Jess, who we interacted with, was not helpful at all. Rather than offering options or trying to assist, her attitude made it feel like we were an inconvenience. Good service is about communication and hospitality, and unfortunately, that was completely lacking here. After this experience, I honestly understand why the San Diego location closed down. If the level of service there was anything like what we encountered at this Irvine location, it makes sense. Poor service like this drives customers away. I've been to Momo Paradise a few times now, and it's consistently one of my favorite spots for AYCE shabu. The past two visits, we were lucky to have Jack as our server, and he truly made the experience even better. He's kind, attentive, and always on top of everything. What really stood out is how proactive he is. Our meat was constantly being refilled before we even had to ask, which made the whole meal feel seamless and relaxed. Ambience is great, upscale looking and clean. The food itself is always excellent. The quality of both the meats and vegetables is noticeably high, and everything tastes fresh. I've been a fan of Momo Paradise ever since their RH location and was very excited to hear they've opened up an Irvine location. Came here for a gathering with a group of friends the other day and man... it realllly hit the spot. My favorite soup base combos are Sukiyaki and Tonkotsu. Ask for a raw egg (don't worry it's pasteurized) to dip your Sukiyaki meat in and it becomes magical - sweet and savory meat coated in a silky layer of eggs that melt in your mouth. My mouth is watering just writing this review. The tonkotsu broth is the perfect finishing touch. I like to cook some fresh ramen noodles in it at the end and wrap up the meal with a hot bowl of ramen. Needless to say, the meat quality is top notch. I went to the opening for this place in Irvine that was on 11/24, and let me tell you, it was a DISASTER. First, one of my family members called in beforehand to ask about walk ins and it was an automated voice message, when they asked to speak to a staff member, it said "transferring to a staff member," but it just hung up! Second, when we were at the place and asked a real staff member there, they said that they took walk ins, but a little while later, they said they weren't taking walk ins which was really disappointing. Just so you know, it was a 30 minute drive to get there. The people that were in front of and behind me were equally as confused as we were. Service is a bit slow but we were able to get everything we need in terms of cooking the delicious meats within 10 minutes of sitting down period during lunch hour, you get the choice of a few selection of beef and chicken. The meat for the Shabu is thinner than for the barbecue here. Meat quality is pretty up there, and you can't go wrong with any of the options. The Shabu also comes with vegetable and noodles, either Ramen or udon. But wait, there's more, once you're done, the lunch special comes with different types of ice cream as a dessert, including mochi ice cream. Our server was extremely helpful and prompt. Interior is pretty sizable and each of the table comes with a grill and a hot plate for the hot pot. Can't wait to return!

We received two plates of meat. One was fine. The other arrived looking partially frozen and discolored, and after cooking it was very tough. The atmosphere was also unpleasant due to a constant beeping sound that became very distracting and even gave some of us headaches. When I raised these concerns at the front counter with someone who identified themselves as a senior staff member, the response was only an apology. We were told they were aware of ongoing pest control issues, which was very concerning to hear. There was no compensation offered for the experience. Overall, this visit was far below the standard we've come to expect, and unfortunately it has made us question whether we will return in the future.
