Mo Mo Paradise is now in Irvine and is a great option for a quality AYCE shabu meal. This spot is located in the same plaza as 99 Ranch where there is a solid amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a modern interior with a good amount of seating. Wifey and I stopped by for dinner with some homies and were seated shortly. We opted for the wagyu experience which was $55 per person. It was well worth it for us as we went rounds and rounds with the meat. Everything was very high quality and I enjoyed the all you drink station they have as well!

Made reservations for lunch but wasn't necessary. The restaurant is clean and quiet in a good way. No loud background music, just the noise of people enjoying their hot pot. Meat quality was great and the broth was not overly seasoned which is perfect for hot pot. The highlight of today's visit was the host/server, Brian! He was so welcoming and truly made the entire dining experience pleasant. Great service truly leaves a lasting impression. I highly recommend this place! The milk tea was bland but the curry was good!

First time to try this location. I saw the 20% walk in promo on instagram and decided to try it today for lunch on Friday. It's actually such an amazing deal because Friday lunch is $29.95 and after the discount it's less than $24 per person for AYCE meats, veggies, and more. We walked in around 11:45 and it was not too busy. It started filling up more throughout our meal. It seemed like they were understaffed with no hostess, so our server Anderson was also seating people. He was truly friendly and efficient given all the work he had to do. He took our orders, brought out everything we asked for, and checked on us many times to clear out empty plates and bring us refills of various items. The short plate was my son's favorite meat. While I liked the Chuck Eye roll because it was leaner. Both were very good in the two broths. We tried many different veggies, tofu, noodles, sauces, curry, etc from the farmers market. Everything looked clean and fresh. I think it's tough to get such a good AYCE deal in Irvine, hence the well deserved 5 star review.

Had a great and fun meal here!!!! Was craving hot pot and decided to try this place out. WE LOVED IT! We came on a Saturday around 1PM. We had a reservation but the restaurant had open tables at the time. We loved that it was a bit more empty. The parking lot, on the other hand, was WILD! We ended up parking behind the daycare center. We opted for the AYCE Wagyu experience which was pricey but oh so good. Everything in the restaurant seemed new and clean! The servers were friendly, helpful, and attentive. And I loooved all the fresh vegetables at the self-serve bar/farmers market. So many great choices! Overall, all the meats were delicious. Fatty, flavorful, and yummy. We ended up doing the Shabu Shabu broth and Sukiyaki broth. Both were great! I really LOVED the gomadare sauce (sesame seed sauce). And I was addicted to the Taberu Rayu chili oil at the self serve bar. SO GOOD. I ended up eating so much! But I didn't feel terrible as I had a bunch of veggies too. And at the end, we got free ice cream (mint chocolate chip and strawberry cheesecake)! I would've gotten a second scoop but I was soooo full. Had a great meal! Would totally come back.

Tried the new shabu-shabu spot in Irvine tonight (in the plaza by 99 Ranch on Jeffrey & Walnut, in the newly renovated building). The restaurant is beautifully done--clean, simple décor, spacious seating, and a really nice atmosphere. Service was excellent and very attentive from start to finish. The meat quality was good, and the broths were flavorful, which made everything taste great. My only suggestion would be to offer more vegetable options. Compared to places like Shabu Shabu (or similar all-you-can-eat shabu spots), this one had a smaller selection of vegetables, seafood, and add-ons. Overall, we had a great experience. I'd highly recommend making a reservation--they said they get very busy.

This is my first time at this location. Its so close to work i can have it 3 times a week! Let me first tell you about Jan C. Hes so welcoming. He asked us all the questions and told me I can do the review too! You bet your sweet sukiyaki butt ill do that!...and he got us! Holy smokes hes the guy. I love the ambience this location has, and theres an automated rice dispenser!! MIND BLOWN!! Im so excited to "dip" in and eat. I will definitely be back. We usually rip a pack and here's the pull...Forever Young

Love mo mo paradise and have been to other locations. Made a reservation online in advance and service was fairly quick. Amount of vegetables were good and they refilled it pretty often. Overall good experience and would come back. The only bad thing is the limited parking in this plaza, had to park very far back near the tesla chargers. Keep in mind if coming for dinner hours or weekends.

This hot pot spot replaced house of shabu shabu which was a UCI classic. Now, it's been remodeled since the fire and has a variety of small and larger tables for seating. There's also a large variety of vegetables which I really appreciated. For the menu, you can opt for the wagyu or Momo experience, one is more expensive than the other. You order the meats from your server but everything else is self serve. Our server was very attentive with the meat ordering which we appreciated. One note of feedback was that their tonkotsu broth and tomato broth could be more flavorful. The sukiyaki was definitely the star of the show for our meal

Parking can be annoying since there are so many great places to eat there and the grocery store is there too. But luckily, I was able to score a spot and meet up with friends. The place is AYCE and you have 90 minutes to eat everything at $54.95 per person. They had rice and curry where the veggies were located. We opted for the wagyu meats (American wagyu round, American wagyu cross rib, American wagyu chuck eye). We ordered meat after meat after meat. We also opted for the Sukiyaki and tomato soup base with eggs. Our server's name was Kenneth or Kenny. But he was very helpful and prompt with getting our orders in. The interior is minimal but comfortable. Everyone's pretty busy eating away and trying to get as much meat as possible during their stay.

Absolutely love Mo Mo Paradise! The service is awesome and Brian always takes super good care of us when we visit. Shabu ingredients are delicious, great quality and bang for buck since it's AYCE style capped at 90 minutes. Veggie options are fresh and plentiful and the beef and pork options range from lean to delightfully fatty. Also love adding on the unlimited drink bar because of their specialty teas and toppings. My favorites are the Yuzu Jasmine and Passion Fruit Oolong teas. Can't get enough! Ambiance is casual. We always leave feeling super satisfied. Thank you so much for the care the staff puts into prepping the ingredients and service.

Toppings are sweet so be careful how much you add

Arrived around 5:30 on a Tuesday night and it was dead, just the way I like it. Glad they opened a location in Irvine because as much as I like their shabu, the drive the Rowland Heights was rough. I always get their Sukiyaki broth with egg to dip. Lunch Mo-Mo experience would be ideal bang for your buck at $38 but if you go during dinner you're looking at $50. Wagyu experience isn't needed in my opinion if you order the Short Plate which is the fatty underbelly, but if you want leaner then get the Chuck eye which is the upper shoulder. What's special about MoMo is their rice and delicious curry available at the veggie bar. Their curry is so good I'd buy it as a lunch combo if they'd offer it. Would highly recommend this place for your next shabu experience.

came for dinner and there was no wait. they had a promotion the time i went and i had a good meal. the meat quality is quite good. but very filling so be wary when ordering alot :) veggies and toppings were arranged nicely and neatly. there are many tables and they are spaced out nicely. i liked the curry and the rice portion machine. soup base was alright, nothing crazy good service and nice staff!

I'm so excited Momo Paradise opened in Irvine! It's a chain Shabu place from Japan and they have it all over the world. I've had it in Taiwan and Torrance so I'm very happy it's finally closer to me. I was able to book reservations online for our party of 7. Check in was easy and we were seated right away. Our server was very thorough in explaining how the process works. I got the Shabu Shabu broth while my kids got the tonkontsu broth. For a small additional price I upgraded to the all you can drink option which included an assortment of sodas and teas. The meat came out fast and they were good quality. I also love the farmer's market where you can grab your own veggies and other food items. I really liked the unlimited Wagyu beef curry rice. For dessert we can order ice cream through the server. Parking is a bit tough since this is a popular plaza with 99 Ranch and other restaurants so be sure to give yourself extra time to find parking.

Another draw for me was that they offer AYCE shabu shabu OR sushi so win-win! We were the first ones to arrive today, which was great because that gave us a chance to ask our server a bunch of questions about the process. My foodie friend and I both chose to go with the AYCE shabu menu. You start by choosing the broth flavor you want and from there you can order the meats you want. I chose the sukiyaki broth and my friend chose the tom yum. Meats we chose were lamb, brisket, and chuck roll. Once our order for these were placed, we headed to the buffet. SO many choices! The soup add-on section had all sorts of noodles, mushrooms, veggies, and even seafood items to customize your shabu shabu to your liking. There was also a smaller hot food bar that featured fried rice, chow mien, fried gyoza, fried chicken flats, sesame balls, and a few more. I was content with my broth choice, but my friend found the tom yum broth to be too spicy for her taste buds, so our server was very kind to swap it out for a different one. Of the three meats we chose, we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed lamb. Definitely our favorite! From the hot food buffet we both enjoyed the fried rice (made with Chinese sausage) and the fried gyoza. I also had the fried chicken and liked it so much, I went back for seconds. Included in the AYCE price was soft drinks, an order of sushi, and a small dessert bar. (Coke fans be warned, only Pepsi products are served here, but they do offer regular and diet Dr Pepper) The shabu shabu experience was fun! Having the hot pot right there in front of you and being able to create and customize your own dish is very satisfying. We both left satisfied but not overly stuffed. I'm gonna have to come back with my husband and son ~ I think they'd enjoy the AYCE meats!

This is quite literally the thinnest meat you can get anywhere in shabu shabu. I've never seen such a thin cut, and I actually quite liked it. I would not reccomend if you don't like meats with a fattier ratio though. The pork belly appetizer is way too greasy and oily, but the meal is the real star anyway. They have a solid selection of seafood, veggies, and noodles, (although the crab was a bit fishy), and the spicy broth was quite balanced. The service was good because we were sat right next to their refill/cleaning station, and we got all of our ordered items super quick. The stackers actually weren't that impressive to me, they were good but got cold really quickly which made the texture of the meat a bit chewy. I'd say it's a hard deal to beat, given the current shabu landscape. I just felt that the meats weren't good enough to merit a 5-star rating. Soup: I'd stay away from the Original House broth because that's the blandest. Yes, the meats would flavor it up, but I prefer to have an already good broth that the meat will improve. I'll list the meats that I liked, so I ordered these multiple times. - 8. Filet Mignon - 9. All that Shabu: Ribeye - 10: Angus Choice: Beef Chuck Flap - 11: Lamb shoulder These are the ones that are okay. Stuff I won't eat too much of - 1. Angus Beef Brisket - 3. Angus Flat Iron Steak - 4. Angus Chuck Eye Steak One and dones - 2. Wagyu style beef belly - 7. Free range chicken breast Fried Rice: I thought it was fine. Adding some meat to it, soup, or other viands would help spice things up. Bulgogi: Good enough to get as a chaser. Better than the one and done meats, but not better than the rest of the pack. Chicken wings: Cold, used to be crispy, it's how they get people to stop eating the meats. Good enough to try, but I'd refrain from eating too much of this. Buffet section: Good amount of vegetables, classic shabu balls (squid ball, lobster ball, fish ball, etc), some seafood options (white fish, clams, frozen baby scallops), and some noodle options. I would say that I kinda wished they had Goma (sauce), because they didn't. Service: Solid. They make sure you're topped up all the time, and the food arrives relatively quickly. Although, I came here during a slow night. Ambiance: Classic shabu vibe. A bunch of tables for 8s that have an option to be split between parties if needed. The buffet area is in the center of everything, and there's a good amount of space between tables and within the buffet section.

What I Ordered: 68 set ($68)…read moreCrispy Pork ($10) Fortunate Wagyu ($12) Wagyu Beef Tongue ($16) Food: I ordered the 68 set which came with Grilled Beef Tongue, A5 Wagyu Tataki, Wagyu Short Rib Roll, A5 Wagyu Platter with Brisket American Chuck Roll and Short Rib, Handmade Fishballs, Abalone, Shrimp, Vegetable Platter, and Wagyu Truffle Stone Rice. I know, it was a TON of food. My favorite appetizer Grilled Beef Tongue. When I say it melted in my mouth, it LITERALLY melted in my mouth. As well as the meat being cooked to perfection, the seasoning was perfect as well. Another side dish that I really recommend is the Wagyu Stone Pot Rice. I love that they mix together the rice right in front of you, which adds to the premium service of the restaurant. The Wagyu Platter offered high quality fresh meats, and my favorite was the A5 Wagyu Brisket. Every time I dipped the meat into the broth, the meat pieces would absorb all of the flavors from the broth and create an explosion of flavor in each bite. I tried both the House Spicy and Beef Bone broths and both were delicious in their own way. Their House Spicy is definitely on the spicy side, so be careful! I got the medium, and it was still a bit too spicy for me. That's when the Beef Bone broth saved my tastebuds with more of a savory flavor. Overall, all of the foods were definitely high quality and felt premium, which I believe is the vibe they are going for. Service: All of the staff members were quick and friendly. I'm not sure if it was because it was their soft opening, but it did seem like they were doing a lot of cleaning and organizing around the restaurant during our meal. Ambiance: The restaurant has a premium interior feel with fancy furniture and huge LED that make it feel like huge dragons are flying around the restaurant.

You get to choose a broth and order from the tablet as much as you want within 100 minutes, but there is a wait time between ordering on the tablet so I recommend just putting in everything you want at once, but also not over ordering because it's extra if you don't finish. The meats were nice, they were not as fatty and didn't have as much marbling so it could be a little chewy after cooking but for the price we really couldn't complain and it was still delicious. And I'm sure the higher priced menu sets have higher quality cuts. We loved all the veggies and noodles you can order and there was a sweet rice cake dessert that was absolutely delicious. Each order of meat was also quite large so I would watch out for how many sets you initially plan to order.
