This place is terrible. I thought I would support a local company instead of buying everything online, but this place is a combination of incompetence and indifference. The only thing worse than no advice is bad advice and that is what this place provides. I went in to order a replacement lock for my camper shell and they kept trying to give me the wrong type. I had to explain why it was wrong even though I brought in the original lock that I was trying to replace. I finally bought the part I went in for, but they charged me a 50% premium for the privilege. PRO TIP: Talk to the older guy if you do go there. The pretty woman and her husband are useless, but the older guy seemed like he knew what he was talking about. read more

These guys are great and real pros. I have used them twice now over the last few years. Recently I had a hitch installed on my '14 Outback. They had to order the hitch and set me up for an appointment on a Monday morning. It turned out the part never arrived and they called me and rescheduled. Then when I went to pay, they discounted the labor charge because of the inconvenience of having to reschedule my appointment! Who does that? Had to wait for cargo box to be installed for 90 minutes . Granted I did come unannounced but then again the person on the phone said come down anytime. No big deal I can understand things were busy at that moment . Waiting room is cool they have a tv and snacks . Get the ash tray filled with ashes out of the room though . Looks like there was a party going on the night before and no one cared enough to clean up. Purchased a Thule cargo box and from the moment I opened it was surprised at how flimsy it was . Brought it home and we started packing it immediately . First words out of person helping me load were "how much did you pay for this ?" "Thought it would be stronger material seems like it's going to break". We drove with it for 3 hours all was good . Then when we went to unload it the hinge snapped . We were still able to use it but with much more difficulty. The person who showed me how to operate it stated these have lifetime warranties, at least three times in his presentation . He Made it sound very reassuring ! On my way to see them and how they will handle this part of the transaction . Will update you afterwards ! They took care of the broken hinge without any hassle. They did it quickly and said if anything happens in the future bring it back in. No additional cost was charged to me. This is the sign of a good business, one that stands behind their products that they sell. read more

So I rarely write reviews. Mainly because most of the time, the experience is mundane. But this store is nothing short of amazing. We are a military family moving across country and desperately needed bars to go across our roof for our luggage rack. Seven people, going long distance, dog, we needed all the car space we can get. We called multiple dealerships, REI, and other tool stores with no avail. This establishment not only had the parts no one else had on hand, but had it cheaper by over 100 than the other places. I called Scott because Walnut Creek Ford had recommended I give them a call.... before spending $800 for a roof rack for my Escape Hybrid. Scott quoted me $315 for a Thule Roof Rack out the door and said he had it in stock. I was super excited! But then when I came in he took a look at my SUV and said that I actually had everything and all I needed was the flattop snappy thing by Thule. I purchased my Leer Shell in 2010 from Mobil living along with running boards for my 2010 Ram Truck. Great price and great service. I visited the store today and had some work completed on my truck. Scott the owner personally supervised the work and also completed the replacement of my Shell brake light, installed a tailgate gasket, removed and replaced the truck cab brake light gasket and sealed the light himself. What a great guy and I really enjoyed talking with him. I would highly recommend his company as he has a great staff as well. I will never shop anywhere else even though I drive from Napa. Update:I was reimbursed for the entire cost of my flat tire I brought my brand new (2 day old) truck in to get spray liner and bed cover. It got a flat tire while there. One gentleman told me "it could have happened anywhere." I explained to him that I had the truck for one day and they had it for one day and it was fine when I brought it in and flat when I got it home from their shop. He said I would need to talk to Scott about it who wasn't in at the time (Friday). I called again the next week and wasn't able to speak with him again. They never attempted to call me back to resolve the issue. I got stuck with replacing a brand new tire for $225. The one person I was able to speak with made me feel like I was trying to get something out of them. All I wanted was my brand new truck to be I. The same condition as when I dropped it off. The spray liner and bed cover came out great but unfortunately it cost me to bring it there and the customer service wasn't great I. Helping with the issue. I was planning on returning for a grill gaurd but won't be going there for it now. read more

I have always heard great things about this place over the years. I even used to know Fernando when he worked for another establishment. I called five days ago to try to purchase a $1500 painted fiberglass bed shell for my new GMC Canyon and was told that they were busy and I will get a phone call back. I gave vehicle info and Leer model 700 painted to match, but five days later I have yet to hear from anyone. Too bad as I was somewhat happy to find out they were a Leer dealer and I could do some business with them. read more

I was looking for a specific brand of lumber rack for my truck called Rack-It. I knew it probably had to be custom made from the factory, because the application on my vehicle is unusual. I went to the manufacturer's website and listed all the authorized dealers in the greater Bay Area. I called probably 10 dealers, and got maybe 7 quotes out of that. Mobile Living's quote was by far the cheapest, close to HALF of the higher quotes. The labor charge for installation was also half the price of some of their competitors. It was a little far to drive to Concord from Fremont, but for the amount of money I was saving made it worth it. I called the day before I planned to pick it up, and the guy told me they were slammed, and couldn't do my installation that day. He offered some alternative days, but those didn't work for my schedule. I figured, hey, I'm a handy guy, I'll install it. I've done it before-- basically consists of just lining up the rack in the proper position, drilling 4 holes in the bed rails of the truck, and putting in 4 bolts. I packed up my power drill and bits and headed to Concord. I got there and was helped right away. They let me park my truck in the back where I could take my time installing it. I asked them if they could give me the proper hardware, and they did-- 4 high-strength bolts, and two huge rolls of weatherstripping made to compensate for the seal between the truck bed, rack, and camper shell. Two of the employees helped me set the rack in place on my truck. Then I got a little worried-- I thought to 1/4" steel rack ears would have holes already drilled in it, and all I would have to do would be to drill through the thin metal of my truck bed rails... but there were no holes pre-drilled. I was concerned that my drill bits wouldn't be sharp enough to go through the 1/4" steel on the rack ears. I told the guys, and would have been fine just clamping it down, driving home, and buying the proper bit, but they said no problem, went into their shop, and got a drill bit for me to borrow while I did the installation! I finished up in about 45 minutes, returned the bit, and headed home, elated with the whole experience. Killer price, great service. Thanks, Mobile Living! read more

lets start with the good. i had a leer shell installed on my truck in 2007. in 2019 i noticed some problems with the finish on it's top. i called mobile living to see if they did that kind of repair. i was lucky, fernando answered the phone. he said they did not, but he asked if it was a leer, was i the original owner, did i buy it there. yes to all three. he stated that i should drop by, they would take pictures, send them to leer to see if they would cover the repair. turns out they would. mobile living removed the shell and sent it back to the factory in woodland. 2 weeks later i get a call from m/l they inform me that leer could not repair it, so they would make me a new one, it would be about 2 more weeks but that they no longer had the mold for that style shell but would make one exactly like the original except for for the side windows. OK two weeks latter i call m/l to check on the status, i was told it would be on thursdays truck. i asked to make an appointment to have it put back on, an appointment was made for 12.00 on friday. now the bad! i show up a little before noon on friday as i enter the store there is a guy standing in the doorway talking on a cellphone, i figured it was a rude customer (it was not) fernando was at the counter, he pulled the paperwork, and said that the would pull my truck into the garage in a few minutes. i went out (rude guy still in doorway on cellphone) to see if i could spot thee new shell, i couldn't. went back in side, now rude guy is behind the counter. rude guy tells furnando to have another job done before mine, that person was not even there, and i was the guy with the appointment.....so 45 minutes latter, they pull my truck into the garage the guy goes to get the shell, he can't find it, he gets someone else, he can't find it, they get fernando he can't find it (rude guy has already gone) it is determined it is not there.fernando wonders how i got an appointment if the shell is not there, so do i. now i'm told it will be on next thursdays truck. read more

I was trying to install a hitch that I had purchased a couple of weeks ago on my own and also find a reasonable place for the installation for my 2011 Chevy Cruze LTZ. I researched through yelp and sent an email and within one day- Lori Johnson contacted me with a reasonable quote of hourly installation of $60.00/hr since it was just a basic installation of the hitch no electrical needed to my stop lights- main purpose of the hitch was for Mt. bike transport. I called back and made an appointment. The next day I met with Fernando Laudardo and he promptly greeted me. They had me already on their schedule appointment list and I waited in the waiting area. It was in no time that it was finished at the established rate of $60.00. Additionally, Fernando gave me a review of the Mt. Bike carriers which I am in the process of purchasing through him not to mentioned that he told me I would need an extension to fit it. Amazing customer service, he went out of his way to show me all the different models and then show me how it would fit in my vehicle. Lots of great sales talk but all that turned into lots of "I am sorry". I drove 50 miles only to be told they could not complete job due to someone else's failure not theirs. A two minute check of what ordered and what was received would have save me a wasted day and long drive. A "Thank you for your patience and gee I am sorry and you will have to come back again was my reward, except for hearing several times how the other guy screwed up. Mobile Living is awesome. They have done so much work to my truck and I have been totally happy with everything. About 6 months ago I got a huge deal of work done and the staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. They showed me different options for my truck and what would work best with it and what was the best for my money. I got a 6in suspension lift, 2in body lift, 35in tires, 18in black rims, running boards, leveling kit, and dual exhaust flowmasters put on my truck. They had my truck for a week but the work was bar none the best. Absolutely superb. The fact that the 2013 Ram changed everything around and it was their first one that they got a chance to work with was pretty cool. I had no problem with my truck being the test truck. I knew they could get it done. It came with its problems due to the manufacturer changes in the model but they figured it all out none the less. I would definently recommend Mobile Living to anyone who is looking to get work done to their truck or SUV. I'll definently be back soon! Still not done getting work done to the truck! I had them order a fitted floor mat for my truck. The mat that showed up was not fitted and looked like hell. I took it back for a refund and Scott said that he could install it for 80 bucks. It was not fitted and would have still looked like crap. I again asked for a refund and Scott said no. I left it there and cancelled it on my credit card. I ordered a fitted carpet from Nifty Products and it was perfect.
