Yay, finally a fancy donut shop near Orange/Anaheim area. Just opened. This place is similiar to Fill donuts and moda donuts. Super soft donuts, more bread like donuts. The shape is exactly like Mister Donuts in Taiwan. Got the chocolate, raspberry, and ube donuts. Ube was the best. You have to purchase at least three donuts. I hope they get rid of this soon, because I just want one or two donuts when I come. I also wish they had more flavors and that they serve ice-cream. But, I think that will come soon. read more

I was excited about this location but the reason why I am giving it a 3 star it's because we could not order off the menu. Whatever they had out that was it. I know I know BUMMER!!!!! The service was not fully there. I felt the girl taking our order was rushing us and was not fully listening to certain questions asked. So we only did an order of 3 when we were thinking of taking a dozen. As for taste the three we got they were good. They did have mangoneada flavor and matcha but we didn't feel too daring and after being rushed for our order we wanted to just take off. Our drinks were good as well, Brown sugar milk tea and regular coffee. The brown sugar milk tea according to my daughter you're not able to taste too much of the tea. Really good Korean corn dogs!! Honestly the best I've had so far. I purchased a potato mozzarella & a hotcheetos mozzarella and topped it with spicy mayo sauce. For the drink I purchased a Ube brown sugar milk tea. The service was good, really nice cashier and it was not packed at all my corn dogs came out within 6 min. Mochi donuts, boba, and street corn dogs...this is a great place for a drink and snack when you're out running errands or meeting up with friends. The shop is inside a shopping square near the theatre in La Palma, Anaheim. It's not really visible until you turn into the square, but once you do, it's hard to miss. My husband and I were on a mission to each get a drink, donut, and corn dog. He was also wanting the soft-serve mochinut, but sadly this location didn't offer it. We were also disappointed by the lack of variety of donuts available. Not sure if it was because it was a soft opening, or this is how they usually do it, but there were only 6 flavors to choose from. Our thoughts on the items we did get are a bit mixed: - Ube churro donut: great chewiness, but the flavor was lacking (3/5). I can taste the hint of churro, but barely taste any ube flavor. - Brown sugar boba milk (4/5): good as you would expect brown sugar boba milk to be. The preparer messed up a couple of times, so to our luck we got an extra one that didn't have boba in it. - Ube milk tea (5/5): delicious and indulgent. Picture filipino ube ice cream but in drinkable form - Fried potato cheese (4/5): a large mozzarella stick coated with bits of french fries. We think this would be better with the hot dog in it and not just cheese. - Crispy ramen corn dog (4/5): just the right amount of crispyness from the ramen - Hot cheetos 50/50 (4/5): get the best worlds by having half mozzarella cheese filling, and half hot dog. The hot cheetos was definitely hot, but you get used to it. We definitely recommend and will be back to try other variations. read more

We popped in to the soft opening of Mochinut in Anaheim. We've been to another location, so we had an idea on what to expect. These are certainly high end donuts. At least if you are going by the menu prices. They are very proud of these things. We ordered up a six-pack for some friends of ours as well as a three-pack for us. They were all very flavorful. The food was delicious! I had the half and half potato corndog and cookies and cream mochi donut. The sausage in the corndog was savory and juicy, the cheese was salty and perfectly melted, and the batter with the potatoes was well cooked and crispy. The service was just as great. The man working, I believe he was the owner, was so extremely kind and friendly. The shop itself is clean and decorated nicely. My kids and I have repetitively come here and spent an awful lot of money on each trip. Each time we come there's four of us and we will get a treat and a drink each usually over 40 sometimes $50. Today we noticed that they were running a sale that if you spent over 35 you got three free mochi nut donuts, sign right next to register-and when I asked cashier about it when I was coming to pick up my order, he said it's not for online orders. Online orders cost more!!!!! I paid more and still can't have promo?! There was no one else in the store. I stood in front of cashier hoping he was joking. Not joking though, wow!!! I would've gotten this promo but because I placed my order in advance I did not. That's ridiculous because nowhere on the sign did it say that. We won't be coming back here. Also, it's worth noting that we ordered in advanced and set the time for pick up for 30 minutes since we were 30 minutes away and when we arrived we were excited to eat our treats and they were cold. Everything tastes great! The location is small and there's not a lot of room to dine in but there is a cool sign to sit and take photos with. Boba Drinks - I've tried the coffee, brown sugar matcha, and guava with lychee jelly. All tasted great and I'm stoked to have this near the movies! Cheese / Hot Dogs - I've only tried the potato version as I think this is likely the best but a lot of the other options sound interesting...one day. Mochi Donut - The texture is great. The flavors they have each day seem random. It's a little misleading seeing all the flavors on the screen but only getting to order what's already been prepared. There are tons of flavors I want to try but each time I'm there I'm only interested in maybe one flavor. I wish you could just order any off the menu. read more

If you visited this store during their soft opening, I highly recommend you give it another try! I was pretty disappointed when I first visited, the boba had a weird texture and their donuts were cold and tasted a little stale. I'm not sure if it's because they weren't sure how busy it would be and so they made their batches too big. Gave it another try last Friday and was pleasantly surprised. The boba texture was a perfect al dente and the donut tasted great! Also the guy at the front cashier was super friendly and had such a great energetic vibe. We are regulars at Mochi Nut but I am losing interest in going there. They change up flavors every 3-4 days and sometimes we can go over a week and we don't like the flavors. It would be nice if they had simple flavors such as chocolate mochi nut regularly and instead of making so many of one flavor I would suggest adding 8-10 options daily vs 5-6 that you switch out. It's a little pricey compared to Friendly Donuts in Orange and they give Mochi Nut a run for their money read more

It's been maybe a year or two since I originally had Mochinut at The Source in Garden Grove. My friends told me they had just opened one up here much more local to us and I was so excited! They used to only do the mochi donuts to my recollection but now they offer milk teas/coffee with boba and the Korean corn dogs. I got a little bit of everything and was pleasantly surprised. The corn dogs are cooked to order so the cheese is super melty and the exterior has a nice crisp to it. The mochi donuts were as delicious as I remembered and I was told they change flavors every 3 days. You can follow their social media channels for flavor updates. The items are on the pricier side in my opinion (dogs are around $5 each and donuts start at 3 for $9), but the quality and novelty is there. Came here spontaneously after our dinner date, and the vibe was super cute! The best donut was the original, I think it was just the right amount of sweet, the matcha had a nice authentic flavor but I couldn't detect the oreo flavor from the crunchy bits even though I could see it on there. The funnel cake flavor wasn't very sweet, I wish it had more raspberry glaze or powder, but the dough is always good! We got a free s'mores as well because it's they're grand opening and that was super chocolatey and good. The boba was FANTASTIC, we love the presentation as well as the freshness of the boba at 9pm. This is an update after they changed Mochinut to Mochi Lounge. Their price has gone up. I used to pay like $3 per doughnut, but I just realised I was charged $3.25 per doughnut few days ago. If the quality was same or higher I would've understood but their take out plastic boxes are very thin, loose, hard to close. It used to be sturdy paper boxes. Obviously less customers and it makes displaying doughnuts dry. Moreover when I pay cash, I never get change. I believe the guy is an owner, who says "thank you" and not intend to give me changes so I stopped tipping them instead of getting change. Still l gave some stars because I just don't have choice to go anywhere because I'm allergic to wheat. read more

I love mochi doughnuts and boba. My first experience here was our last. The girl taking our order didn't care whether we placed an order or not. Then when she took it, it was very unpleasant. The boba came in one size only in a cup that had a pressed on lid that makes it look like a flip top soda can. The size was small for the price, the sweetness couldn't be adjusted.
