    Funnel cake, chocolate and original

Stopped by this mochi doughnut shot after a hearty meal at South Coast Plaza. Service was prompt and friendly. We got the 3 for $10 deal, with original, chocolate and strawberry. The consistency is a bit chewer than regular doughnuts, not really noticeable unless you're really paying attention. Out of the three flavors, the original is still the best, guilty pleasure level of sweetness. Located on the bottom floor under Paradise Dynasty, it is worth a visit if you're looking g for a snack or dessert after any of the awesome eateries around!

I love all types of mochi, and anything and everything that is chewy. :) I always like to stop by Mochinut to pickup a few donuts to go after having a bowl of pho next door. My favorite is the plain cinnamon sugar. I just don't really care for the ones with the glazed frosting on the top, which is too sweet. And super picky about my boba drink so I have not ordered it from here.

Came back to try their Korean corn dog and it hit my craving! Came out nice and hot within a few minutes. The only complaint I had was that it was hard to get the ketchup out of the container they gave me so I was tapping it on the table so I can get some lol!

Mochinut is located inside the Collage near Bloomingdales at South Coast Plaza. My cousin, her kids, and I wanted to split a half dozen but put into 2 boxes. The more you order, the bigger the discount. However, we were informed by the cashier that if we were to do that, a service charge would apply. Oh well. We both ordered a set of 3 mochi donuts separately. I opted for chocolate, matcha, and cinnamon sugar. The mochi donuts were tasty but were not fresh. I've ordered mochi donuts from other vendors where they are freshly fried. That is not the case here as it is a stand and they are stocked by a separate kitchen. They were okay and a quick sugar fix, while at South Coast Plaza.

We were eating dinner in the food court at South Coast Plaza and decided to stop for sweets on the way out. There was a Mochinut across the way so we grabbed a few to take home. They had a great selection of flavors! I wanted one of each but we were limited to only 6 for our box. We were helped immediately and had secured the box quickly. The light over the glass display for the booth seemed dim. Not as bright as the other food stalls. It probably would of made the donuts pop more. The cherry was really good. But very sweet. I get it, its like a donut. Maybe I will just get one next time.

I normally love this spot, but the female cashier working at 4:50PM on Sunday, September 28th has a bad Gen Z attitude. When I ordered my hot dog and asked for a specific sauce, she would impatiently interrupt me and told me to order my sauce later at the counter. She then asked me to repeat my order again impatiently. I didn't like her attitude at all and I hope a manager will teach her about having a better customer service oriented attitude. Regarding the food quality, Mochinut is always 5/5. This review is solely about the poor customer service I received today.

I have not had a mochi donut in a long time. This was a nice way to end a dumpling meal. The donuts were not that fresh though. At least they still had a chewy texture. I'd get this gain for my niece if she wants to try other flavors next time.

Brand and the sweet chili sauce

The girl that helped me was so kind and helpful. However, I feel like the order I got wasn't as savory as I imagined it would be. Idk... it was a cheese and potato "cheese dog" ? But it had sugar on it.. and then I was given a sweet chili sauce with it.. it would have been better if the batch had no sugar and I was given marinara or idk a different sauce with it.. the shop is close to other neighboring little eateries.. like a boba place and other Asian cuisine. There is not enough sitting I feel like for the amount of people at south coast plaza. Especially if you go during holidays.. overall.. I guess it depends on personal taste buds of each individual..

I've never witnessed a food section inside of any department stores, especially at Bloomingdale's. It was pretty busy because the layout of the food area is super compact but well worth it. Keep in mind there are liens at each of them, depending on when you go. We tried three flavors for the donuts and they were pretty good. Cocoa 5/10 don't eat the pretzel it's stale lol Mango 10/10 our fav Watermelon 7/10 was pretty hesitant but it tastes like strawberry to me!

Great selection of Boba drinks like Ube or milk tea; my favorite being their house cold brew. The staff members are chill and helpful.

Hands down, the best donuts ever. No contest…read more I've been a customer since this shop opened in 2013 (I believe around this time). My cousin (who briefly worked there) brought my brother and I when we were 13 (me) and 15 (my brother). We got to eat donuts all day. One of my fondest memories with my cousin. Anyways, I've gone many times over the years and always recommend Sidecar to everyone I come across (if donuts come up in conversation). I went yesterday as well and my gosh, the quality has not changed! Sidecar always amazes me and whoever I bring. They live up to the "hype." In my book, they make the best product, period. Their huckleberry donut and choc-o-lot are absolute classics. Their seasonal pumpkin cinnamon roll donut was great as well. Their staff is always friendly and attentive. 10/10 recommend.

I usually prefer yeast doughnuts over cake doughnuts, but these doughnuts were not dry or heavy at all. I ended up ordering the Butter & Salt doughnut and an Americano with brown sugar sweetener and huckleberry cold foam, while my husband ordered a plain cold brew. We waited outside by the pick-up window after ordering. Service was fast for the doughnut and my coffee, but they seemed to forget about my husband's cold brew, so I had to ask about it after a few minutes of waiting. Not a big deal, just was surprised it took so long when it was such an easy order! We both enjoyed the buttery/salty doughnut, and my coffee was delightful! However, my husband said the cold brew was just okay and it was packed with ice to the point you couldn't stick the straw in the lid. Overall, our first experience at this location was good, and we'll definitely be back to try more of Sidecar's delicious doughnuts! Might pass on the cold brew though!

So I decided to order delivery of a dozen of the glazed AND a dozen of the "mixed" iced rounds. The mixed iced rounds come in 4 icing flavors and he doesn't like one of the flavors but I wasn't sure if they were able to make exceptions however, I made a special request in my online order not just to remove that flavor but to replace it evenly amongst the other 3 if available. I needed to leave this positive review because of the following: *They obliged my request in every way :) *The text communication about the delivery was fantastic *The delivery was extremely faster than expected *They were warm & fresh *They were neatly placed in the box along with a couple of the regular sized donuts that I "accidentally" ordered as well. :) It was just very professional and beyond what I would expect from a chain donut shop. Pulled up and sat there for a few minutes with no acknowledgment... no "be right with you," nothing. That alone has you second guessing whether anyone is there, whether you should just go inside, whether you should leave. Not a great way to start. We placed our order and as we were wrapping up asked if we could swap out a donut. Silence. Got to the window, workers were just moving at their own pace and didn't acknowledge us for about 5 minutes. When someone finally came over we asked again about swapping the donut and she said "oh I heard you before." So she heard us at the speaker and just... didn't respond. That's not a small thing. Donuts were ok, nothing special. The small black coffee kept leaking out the side... lid was on tight, coffee wasn't filled to the top, so something is off with the lids. Overall the service made it hard to enjoy anything about the visit.

The actual donuts came out double times bigger than display too haha Blueberry glazed donut: fruity and not too tart, very balanced. Ham and cheese: absolutely my favorite. Had a great cheese pull, comes with a mustard sauce that pairs well with the savory flavor. It breaks my traditional view on donuts. I've tried the peach glaze, passion fruit, sprinkle, lemon, etc. all very good. The service is usually not too great as of lately. I'm not usually greeted and the vibe from the employees is very nonchalant. Almost like you're an inconvenience but not quite, as they aren't rude just aloof maybe. I also have come in once or twice when Worship music was playing, and that's not quite my vibe, but to each their own. It's their business, just thought I'd mention it. Lastly, I almost tried their coffee today until I saw alternative milk was $1.25 extra !! Their base prices for coffee and matcha are a little on the pricier side, I would compare it to a specialty coffee shop for pricing. I know that specialty coffee shops charge that much due to the grade of beans being higher and more expensive, so I'm wondering if they use higher quality beans as well to justify their price? Either $1.25 for oat milk was a total turn off for me, it seems a little greedy. Most places charge $.75-$1. The rewards system is not very rewarding as it is one free donut for every $100 you spend. Not sure I'll be coming back. Maybe occasionally when I'm craving a donut.

From past experience, the best ham & cheese croissants came from good ol' mom-&-pop donut shops and it had been quite a long time since I'd had one. To my surprise and excitement I realized this place is not just a donut shop but a hidden gem for savory breakfast "pastries" and sandwiches as well. Their ham and cheese croissants are quite large pillows-of-buttery heavy (yet delicate if that makes sense) dough soft on the inside, and beautifully crisp on the outside. It has that unmistakable, old-school donut shop magic--warmed gooey melted cheese, savory deli ham in a buttery & flaky croissant that sheds flakes into the bottom of the old school bag, and satisfying enough to carry you for hours. I ate half on the way home and was excited to eat the 2nd half the next morning. My advice...SKIP THE COMMERCIAL CHAINS AND SUPPORT THIS LOCAL SPOT if you desire a nostalgic legendary ham & cheese croissant - Perfection!
