My partner & I made an online order to the MOD in Federal Way at 4:40p.m., ready @ 5p.m. I arrived at 5:05p.m. to a line out the door, yet a friendly greeter. I asked them where I go for online orders, & she said if you wait at the hand-off area, they'll call it out. The first thing I noticed when I walked over was the soda machine had overflowing & stacked ice cubes on the bottom of the tray where the excess soda is suppose to drain & underneath the ice dispenser. It was gross. I stood there for about 5 minutes, until the greeter asked me the name for the order. I responded, she checked & the pizza's were boxed ready to go behind the counter. Her & I both could tell the pizza team was a little flustered; the greeter had been folding boxes in the lobby. I am giving 2 stars because of the pizza order. My partner's pizza was a kid's size w/ lackluster toppings, & mine was a regular MOD w/ roasted cauliflower-a topping I didn't choose. We ordered 2 mega-MODS which are made standard w/ a double-layer crust, are slightly bigger & cost more $. I regret not checking the pizza's before I left the restaurant. I also noticed no sense of urgency from the team at all. The team is new & still adapting to the routines. I completely understand that having worked in food service. However, pizza standards are pretty straightforward: right size, right toppings, right temperature, right on time. Someone - particularly @ hand-off - should be on the floor verifying the pizzas, order accuracy & quality assurance. The team was quiet - no one was communicating to anyone. I also noticed no sense of urgency from the team at all. This is my first review, & I plan to come back soon w/ hopefully a better review in mind. read more

I normally love mod pizza for the ability to customize my pizza and the great taste. But when I came in I was immediately rushed even though there was a small line. I was asked what I wanted on my pizza at the start which was different because normally I walk down with my pizza and put things on it. So I quickly looked and asked for some jalapeños and onions on my mad dog pizza. I didn't look at my pizza till I came home and saw that everything I asked for wasn't there but you can see on the paper that they wrote it down. I understand that it's rushed but there should be a quality control to make sure the order is right. Think next time I'll order online or go somewhere else. read more

As far as I can say the pizza here is just average...There is really nothing that stands out in this pie except it's "Made On Demand". The sauce is is a simple marinara and oh boy ...you can top it with the wide variety of cheeses and meats available.... to hide the one essential component and just like any other 800 Degree mock wood oven pizza joint.. I was part of their grand opening and the staff was fantastic! Super fast and so friendly! Such a welcoming environment. They accidentally burnt my pizza and replaced it without hesitation or fuss! I want to start out saying the food did not disappoint and true to the MOD Pizza chain. We shared a Tyler, a couple salads and their little desert cake thing. This MOD Pizza is brand new to Federal Way and having said that I think they have a few kinks to work out. This is just speed related but more likely because of the new staff. They seemed to have a mix of people with prior MOD experience and new staff. My guess is this will even itself out once the newer ones get more acquainted with the timings on working a pizza line. I'm just not sure if I will be back. Super long wait, which is fine. They are new to Federal Way, so I expect lines at first. Value is there as all pies include tax and you can have all the toppings you want. Once your order is in, it comes up rather fast. Accuracy is a huge problem. I told them no tomatoes on the caesar at least 3 times. One of the pies they added a bunch of stuff we didn't want or ask for. They kept going through the list of ingredients that came on the pizzas we ordered to make sure we wanted it. If I didn't want it, I wouldn't have ordered it. What is the point of having these great menu items if you have to list off all the ingredients you want each time? read more

Great concept but this location fails on so many levels that I'm shocked the franchisee is still allowed to operate. They are ALWAYS out of basic ingredients so good luck making the pizza or salad you want because they won't have chicken, you'll be lucky if they have pesto sauce, and probably will be out of cheese. This location is so inefficient with their system for making pizzas and salads, FRANCHISEE IF YOU ARE READING GO BACK TO THE WAY YOU STARTED: with a factory line system for making the customer orders. This location has lost my business, no one wants to wait 30 minutes just to get to the front of the line to than have your pizza made and wait in the queue for it to be baked but that's what happens when you have 2 individuals (if you are lucky, when I left after waiting for nothing this evening they only had ONE person making orders, one person cashing customers out and boxing food to go and one person working the oven. When people come to a national franchise they do so expecting the same exact experience as all the other locations, this one misses the mark so badly which is a shame for a simple business concept like this. read more

I love this place, and come here frequently with coworkers, friends and family, and ever since this place opened, it has been INCREDIBLY BUSY! However the servers are always good at getting through a line quickly and efficiently. The parking is a little scarce but it is definitely worth it for a good, design-your-own pizza. read more

The energy of the place upbeat and they play pretty good music. I loved the Caesar salad and The pizza is good when they actually get your order correct. Probably the worst MOD Pizza I've been to in the entire Washington state. Let's start with customer service, there is NONE. The workers are rude they all have terrible attitudes. None of them look happy to work here. With that being said, the service projects onto the food. This is the skimpiest MOD I've been to as well. They don't even put pizza sauce on the whole pizza. They literally put it in the middle that's all, then you just have 3 inches of dry ass crust. I asked for pineapples, why the girl only put like 4 pineapples? That was my first encounter here. I decided to give them another shot on Uber eats and I found the nastiest foreign object inside the top of the box. See picture for reference. I thought it might've been a burnt pepper or something. But it was not... it was mushy and it had something that looked like a tail. Very nasty, very dissatisfied. Came here yesterday evening around 8 o'clock hour. Service in the line went by fast. Had my custom mod made and had mine baked extra crispy and the guy did a perfect job of making it. This was the first time I'd been in since covid began. I ate some of the pizza there then took the rest home. I also ordered a juice drink and no name cake. They removed the hibiscus drink that I usually would mix with the lemonade that I loved. It wasn't the same but I made do with the plain lemonade. They removed a few things from the ingredients. No cilantro, parsley, garlic butter, and I just realized there weren't even any mushrooms, no roasted cauliflower and pepperomcini. No wonder it tasted different. Couldnt figure it out til now. Which is not cool. I wish there was consistency what ingredients were available at each location. My dog and I shared the leftovers and it was also two paws up and perfect then. I have taken multiple delivery orders from this place, they are painfully slow. Every time I have been there the wait has been at least half an hour (Minimum) from the pickup time. The employees are so slow when they don't need to be. When I walked in to pick up an order one time I asked an approximate time the order would be ready and she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away without saying anything else (it was a half hour long wait for one pizza). read more

Had an interesting experience @ Mod today. Ever order that drink at a bar called bar mat shot...where the bartender puts all the spilt liquor in the bar mat into a shot glass...imagine that was done for our salad that we ordered today. The guy preparing our food was spilling all the toppings and salad on the prep surface...and when I asked him to refill the toppings & greens- instead of grabbing new ones, he puts all the spilt leafy greens and toppings back onto our salad that fell on the prep surface and serves it to us. Love the people who go out of their way to write all about the bad, well let's write about the good, from the moment I walked in I was greeted by friendly employees. Even though there were a couple people in front of me and the team was multitasking, they all stayed friendly and efficient. After I was done making my pizza ,I paid got my drink and went outside for a call. By the time I had come back inside my pizza was ready. The ingredient qaulity was similar to other fast casual pizza concepts, but one thing that separates this MOD from all the rest is the CRUST. Finally a concept that can create a thin, crispy crust that holds it's integrity while lifting it, and not having all the toppings fall off. Good job MOD, good food, and good service. read more

We went on a Wednesday night around 6 pm. It was pretty busy, but not crazy. The place is cool, the vibe too. It reminded me of a Subway or something like that. You sorta tell them what you want on your pizza/salad as you go down the isle. Cool. We shared a Cesar salad and each had a pizza. She had a traditional Hawaiin pizza, her own recipe, not one on their menu and I had their "Mad Dog," which was awesome. It's sausage, pepperoni, ground beef, and cheese. Yummy. Ok but the salad though. Salad is already not my favorite, but Cesar is. Except, sigh. We picked out probably 4 pieces of brown lettuce before we gave up. Gross. I mean really brown and wilted. I felt like the salad tasted slimy too. Idk, the salad wasn't great, but the pizza was, and it's called MOD Pizza, not MOD Salad, so...there you go. The problem here isnt the food. Its the insane wait times to get through the line just to order your food. Watching the employees as they sluggishly crafted pizzas in a lackadaisical, distracted way was maddening as the line never moves and only grows behind you. The staff appear uninterested and have zero urgency as the stare blankly from behind the counter. We walked out after 30 minutes in a line that moved MAYBE 6 feet the whole time we were there. Many groups left before us, and I'm sure many would decide to give up after we left. Sad, because the food is great but they are going to miss out on revenue if they dont speed things up in there. They really need to take some pointers from the Mod Pizza at the Armory in Seattle, or the original place on 6th where the volume is 3 or 4 times what this site in Federal Way experiences. I placed my online order an hour before I wanted to pick it up and still stood around along with all the other people. We ordered 4 pizza's they are really small and thin. I would suggest you make your own add everything possible on your pizza. Don't get the house pizza because you only get 6 to 8 little pieces of meat and same for vegetables. The crust reminded me of a crispy burrito wrap. 2 of the pizza we ordered were double crust $3 more,that got us a extra layer of that burrito wrapper Lol. read more
