I recently needed a quick dinner and was in the area, and nothing beats pizza in my book so I decided to give MOD a try. Overall I was satisfied with my experience and it was FAST. This is essentially a pizza version of Chipotle, and I like it. You have three different size options. I went with the mini since I was dining alone and it was the perfect serving size. Although I could have loaded it up with anything I wanted (for no added charge!) I kept it basic with sausage and mushrooms. I was impressed with the crust given the pre-made nature of the whole operation. The interior, fitting with the name, is modern with a natural bend (lots of wood). There isn't a ton of atmosphere, this is a fast food spot after all. They do serve wine and beer on tap and in bottles/cans, although at the speed your food comes out, there isn't much time for a relaxing pre-dinner drink. There isn't much in terms of service, although the staff was friendly. Overall, this is a great spot for a quick meal, but I wouldn't recommend this as a dining experience. read more

Honestly, wow! The quality of this pizza surpassed my expectations for a "walk the counter and order" style pizza. I'm purposefully not using the words "fast-food" to describe MOD Pizza because I think that doesn't give them justice. The food is fast because it doesn't take more than 5 minutes to cook a pizza when you have a brick oven running constantly at hundreds of degrees!You have lots of ingredients to pick from if you so choose to create your own pizza. My husband and I came here for to go order tonight. It was his first time. Luke was the pizza artist and made both of our pizzas just the way we asked, he also kept a lively and engaging conversation. Our pizza was baked, we got drizzles and went home to enjoy it. Unfortunately for both of us, pizza was more on a chewy side. My husband got a thicker dough, I got the original. We ended up finishing them in the oven before giving it another go. We enjoyed our pizza after they were done cooking. We will be back and we will make sure to ask for our pizzas to be cooked a bit more. read more

You approach the counter and tell them what you want and they put it all together for you. Want a plain cheese pizza? Go crazy with the veggies? Kill yourself with pounds of meat? Do a BBQ sauce base? Add pesto, or balsamic, or buffalo sauce after they bake it? All this and more can be yours at Mod. The ingredients are high quality and the pizza will be as good as you make it. The decor is super hipster and the music playing generally is too - and that's not a complaint. It's a cool place to hang out and have lunch and the food is always great. So why only 4 stars? Mod has a competitor in town that simply seems to do it better. See Pieology. Pieology is Mod pizza but with a nicer crust (a bit chewier), the option to go to thick crust for $1 more, and better high end ingredients like Sundried Tomatoes. To be fair mod has a "thick crust" option to...kind of. For $3 more they will make your pizza with 2 crusts. But not put together into a bigger, thicker crust - but rather they will make one pizza shell (with sauce and everything) and then put your main pizza on top of that and bake them together. It's strange. Now, a lot of this will come down to preference I guess. If you prefer the atmosphere of Mod (Pieology is a little more sterile) and don't care about Sundried tomatoes or thick crust, go ahead and add another star. Honestly, I'd never turn down a trip to either of them and if you are in the mood for pizza and this place is nearby you should definitely give them a try! read more

This is my first time eating at a MOD pizza place. Right when I walked in everyone was very friendly. One of the employees could tell it was my first time and she walked me through how it worked. Okay, so I usually don't review chain restaurants, but this place is AWESOME! I got to have anchovies on my pizza! And pesto sauce instead of red or white sauce!!! And as spicy as I wanted, without having to worry about anybody else! ALL for the same price. This is beyond amazing. I've had a pizza just the way I wanted it before, but I also paid dearly for it. We were there at 4pm. There were 3 people working in the "kitchen" and maybe 5 people total in the restaurant. As I took the kids looking for table every single table was dirty, dishes, spilled drinks and food on them. Then when I went to get plates for us I ended up putting most of them in the dirty bin bc they were so gross. The pizza we ordered was missing ingredients on it that were in the description. I went into MOD for two carryout pizzas. I got a Mega mod Caspian pizza and a mild sausage mod pizza. I got a BBQ topping on the Caspian and red sauce topping on the sausage pizza. The staff greeted me with smile and said hello when I came in the door. The staff asked me how the pizzas looked; a great presentation. My Family loved their sausage pizza and I felt like I was back in Columbia at Mizzou eating the Caspian pizza. The Food was great. I recommend everyone go check them out! Great pizza, great price, AND they have vegan cheese. Sometimes the bottom can get a little too crispy (i.e burnt) BUT it's still always delicious. I always get something different because they have SO MANY OPTIONS and they're ALL THE SAME PRICE. It's amazing. They're pre-chosen options are delicious as well. Anything you can think of you can put on your pizza. Customer service is always iffy (sometimes they aren't the most personable), but they have a great business model and it's not horrible so I can deal with a bad apple in the middle of all the great ones. Some are OVERLY personable (a good thing), so you never know. If you get a bad one, try again, I promise you'll get a good one. They're super quick and super awesome. Their faux ding dong is fresh and delectable. They have great beers. Pretty much, great stop for great pizza. If you have a lot of people with different tastes, this is perfect. read more

MOD Pizza advertises that they are "super fast". That is certainly NOT the case at this location! Arrived at the restaurant at 11:40, with about 6 peoples in line before us. We left the restaurant at 12:27, needing to take our mediocre pizzas to go because it took soooooo long! By that time, the line was at least 20+ people long!!! The workers moved incredibly slow. On-line orders were being made in between the in-store customers. Then, to top it all off, my pizza got pushed to the back of the oven, and came out charred black! This created an even further delay since the pizza had to be remade. Our order was free of charge, but it was a very frustrating and stressful experience. We happened upon this cool little pizza place by mistake and we are so glad we did! The pizza was so good! The variety of toppings was good, but the best was the drizzles at the end! One nice lady suggested the spicy habanero sauce and it was delicious. The customer service was excellent and we loved the suggestion of pineapples with jalapeño. read more

Went here tonight for the first time with my cousin. We each got a 6 inch pizza and shared an entree size salad. The Caesar salad was delicious! We had to try the garlic sticks and cinnamon sticks too! Obviously our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we essentially had a whole pizza left over, a few garlic sticks and a little bit of salad. Everything had great flavor!!! The cinnamon sticks were s little crispy, hard to tear apart, but flavor was still delicious and we did not have any of those left over... The cost was comparable to the quality AND it's a set cost no matter how many toppings you add. I also received a $5 pizza discount for wearing a Halloween Costume. I have no expectations going in because i didnt know what this restaurant was all about. Its basically a chipotle but for pizza and theyre not STINGY!!! I love it. You can ask for as many toppings as you could possibly want and the prices are very reasonable. I loved my personal pizza but i put so much on it that i needed to eat it with a fork and knife. I went to get a pizza. They burned the pizzas. They girl who burned the pizza was upset I didn't want it. She showed me by gestures she was upset. I had my pizza re-made exactly how I wanted it made. It took me 35 minutes to get my pizza. No authentic apology was given. When I arrived home, the bottom of my pizza was burned as well. I saw the pizza maker look at it and place it in the box anyway. Staff standing around not acknowledging you and then, when they do come to the counter they tell you to wait while they take care of the online orders that they let pile up. It was a great pizza. I built my own. They were extremely busy, so I'll give them a pass on some of the issues. However, I did notice that there were 5 different people making my pizza. And communication among them wasn't always the best. Not that my pizza was wrong, but one girl told another girl "you can put more mushroom on that." and the 2nd girl gave the first girl major side-eye. Uncomfortable... lol My thought with that was "they just opened, how are they hating their job already?" Beyond that, the people were friendly and the food was delicious. Tough, chewy, bland, dry, and cheap. The only reason it gets 3 stars is because it's cheap. You get what you pay for. I knew when I seen the prices I should've looked elsewhere. Heading back from kayaking at the lake and stopped by to get a bite to eat. We usually go to the Ellisville location. Saw that this location was open and took advantage of this chance to stop in and see how they're doing. Smaller location but equally good quality. Probably the best food you can get around this area.
