There was a line when I arrived and all the employees were in the back doing something. Finally after waiting they all came out together and started slowly working, the entire time they were more involved in their conversation about complaining about their manager and scheduling. I watched my pizza sit on the rack while this employee was chatting. When she finally put my pizza in the oven, she sat on a stool while texting on her phone. Normally a go too, but I fear they're slipping (or at least won't order again late at night). We ordered two 11-inch pizzas and garlic bread. For both pizzas, we asked for the finishing sauce on the size (to dip) and both had it added directly to the pizza in clumps (he admitted to not reading the ticket). For the garlic bread, it was barely cooked (extremely doughy) yet the bottom was 50% blackened (burnt toppings from prior cooks picked up while in the oven?). Love the food - the server/pizza maker was very rude once again - told him we were there to pick up our food - he was very rude and said he was busy cooking food. Not sure he understands he is working in the service industry. Was there a few weeks ago and the same server gave us about the same level of service - looked like he was working alone that day, so I let it slide - today he had other workers there, so I assume he is just a jerk. Was there last week and had the nicest guy help us - we both made the comment to each other that this was a nice experience compared to last time. Do not order from here unless you have time to just sit around and wait. Incredibly disappointed. We placed our order at 1:13 pm and the email said it should be ready at 1:28 pm. We knew they always take longer than that so we gave the store extra time to prepare our food. Showed up at 1:42 pm and they were STILL working on our pizzas. We did not actually receive our food until 2:01 pm. It took almost 30 minutes PAST the time it said it would be ready to actually get done. Have been in Mod pizza is varying locations. Food here was on par with any other location. the service was average. The drink station was running out of supplies, no lids, no straws, The Dr. Pepper was running out. When alerting the staff, the response was as if I was complaining and was told "we are going the best we can..." I can write that one off to a bad day. Drink station was never w updated and had to change my drink flavor as the Dr Pepper was not changed out. The place was clean and nice. Ordered three pizzas and four desert cakes on-line Halloween evening. There were only about eight people in the store, but everyone seemed to be waiting for their food. I had to wait about five minutes past the pick-up time, no big deal. As I waited, I noticed how dirty the store was - at least three pairs of plastic gloves on the floor, food on the floor, the garbage was overflowing and the tables were dirty. After leaving with my order I had to come back about because they forgot the dessert cakes. I was completely ignored and actually had to raise my voice to get any of the four employees to even look in my direction. One employee told me they didn't have any dessert cakes, but I had already paid for them on-line. As he walked away he said the manager was the only one who could give me a refund. I stood there for another couple minutes while a young woman and man joked around behind the counter ignoring me. Again, I had to raise my voice to get some one to give me the refund. The woman didn't say anything to me and it took her forever to tell me the credit should go back on my card, but would not provide me with a receipt. Upon arriving home and opening the boxes, two of the three pizzas were badly burned. I won't be going back. read more

New Pizza and Salad place in town! My Mom and I enjoyed the 11" Dominic pizza and took the the Deluxe Salad to go. The 11" was enough for just 2 of us! The pizza crust was light and crispy, fresh out the oven. Just the right amount of sauce so it doesn't over take the flavors of your toppings. The owner and staff where all very welcoming and easy to ask with any questions. I will be back to try the other goodies on their menu. Thought I'd try MOD pizza since I've never dined here before. I've heard good things. Staff was very organized in taking orders from customers, and the speed of service was outstanding. We selected the Greek salads, and meat lovers pizza. The pizzas come in three sizes, and you can either select a standard pizza or create one with custom toppings. They even have gluten-free crust if desired. Crispy and very delicious. The salads were very flavorful. They have both fountain and bottled sodas, water, or teas. The only issue is the tables weren't wiped down after the previous customers. I had to ask one of the staff to come wipe the table. I'm sure it was an oversight due to them being busy. Otherwise I would definitely make a return trip. read more

I always mix the red sauce and creamy sauce. DELICIOUS! Sadly, I have arrived close to closing a number of times and received traditional "close to closing" level service. Vacant counters or employees that don't set down closing duties to pay attention to customers always irk me. I've worked in food service and I know that it's tough to split your time between the tasks, but it's really bothersome to feel like a burden to the service. Still. A great spot for lunch or dinner. First time ever in a Mod pizza today and I loved it! Ordered online and said ready at 1:42...I walk in at 1:41 and the friendly staff greeted me and I saw a pizza coming out of the brick oven which happened to be mine. How many stars should I give this place is what I have been wondering for a long time ..?This ishow it unfolded....the situation started going downhill when two kids showed up We had just gotten our order n our pitcher of spotted cow . two kids walked in and placed their order and sat on the table next to us .... And they started talking.they were kinda loud so we could hear them...By some of their conversation with guys working there I figured these kids and some of the employees were friends .. they were talking to this kid who was working there ..A little loud but No problem there... they were just teenagers being teenager .. so these kids call someone on their phone and the kid working (employee working in store) walks upto to thses kids (his frens) and yells to the guy on the phone...n I quote .."HEY (something don't remember the name) MY EX GAL FRIEND WANTS TO FUCK YOU REAL BAD "... And they all laugh at this point ...I was ..I didn't say anything ..And. ...They were still at it .. I wait n wonder if this is how a real restaurant employee should talk when customers are around ...given I saw some parents visit with there kids before ..who were bynow gone ... But if I was visiting with my kids I would not want them hearing that kind of talk.I had to think a lot before I posted this .It was either to forget it n think O they are just teenagers or make it known.. I choose later coz in real world these things have consequences... !! If it was not a teenager I would have definitely complained then n there but being a teenager is hard sometimes ....The other kids (similar age ) working there were decent so can't blame the whole team . I wish he was trained better .. . The food however was good ...N the concept of the restaurant is really awesome. I wasn't expecting much when I went in but I was excited to place my order . The prices were good too and they have beer which makes it even awesomer. Food = Good. Service = Slooooooow For a place that is supposed to be all about a speedy personal pizza, they have a lot to learn about efficiency. Don't get my wrong, the people are nice and welcoming. The food (except for the cheese bread) has all been delicious. But man... no one is breaking land speed records. People don't know how to flow from one person to the next. Some people have too little work while others are overloaded (causing a bottleneck). I also watched an overturned pizza sit on the floor for 20 minutes while no-one attended to the mess. I was just waiting for someone to take big slip. The experience is sorta like going to the airport. If you go, just turn off your brain for a while and don't think about how much better it could be run. It'll make your head hurt. read more

What can I say, I'm a sucker for pizza?! When this place opened in Oconomowoc, I had to give it a try. I was told, "it's just like Blaze Pizza," which if you follow my Yelps, also got 5 stars from me. This place was busy, but the staff were handling it well. During the short wait, I pondered over what masterful creation I would devour on this visit. The wall is plastered with predetermined creations, but I'm my own master and was determined to do this myself. On my turn, the woman offered a brief explanation of the Mod process, since I was a first timer. She was very friendly and answered my questions politely. In the end, I let her know that I would be designing my own 11 inch pizza. The setup is similar to a Subway. You stand in front of a small glass/plexi-glass wall that separates you and the staff (with all the pizza goodies on their side). As ambitious as I felt at the time, I ended up pretty simple...with spicy sausage, pepperoni, bacon, and roasted tomatoes, and oregano sprinkled on top. They asked my name, collected my money, and sent me away to sit while they did the magic. I tried some sweetened pear tea that was pretty good while I awaited my food. About 5 minutes later, they called me by name and I retrieved my creation. By the way, I love the restaurants that have departed from calling everyone a number! There is certainly something more welcoming about being called Tony as opposed to "number 176." The counter guy handing me my masterpiece even joked about my name, stating he was fresh outta Frosted Flakes (a reference to Tony the Tiger for those too young to understand it). My pizza was good, real good! Crispy (but not too crispy) thin crust and sweet (with a little bit of spice) pizza sauce. It was perfectly cooked and I enjoyed it. While I ate, the woman in the booth next to me sat down with a salad and that's when I knew this place had me...the salad looked awesome, and I'm not a salad eating kind of guy! In summary...staff was awesome, food was awesome, salad looked awesome! I'll be back, often!! read more

We went yesterday for the first time and built our own pizzas. We all really liked the idea of picking our own toppings. The pizzas however weren't really good. The crust was a bit underdone and the toppings were essentially just warmed up. For the price, I would expect more. The staff was nice, but the place was dirty. Spilled stuff all over by the drink station (a staff even filled up the ice tea and didn't even wipe down the counter). Food and silverware under tables. The floors including in the bathroom look like they haven't been mopped since the place opened. For somewhere that is only about 7 months old, I would have expected more pristine conditions. read more

She asked the other guys in their late teens or early twenties, they didn't know but said it's basically the state beer of Wisconsin if you haven't had it you need to order it right now. So it's brand new, with that is going to come some good and bad things. I was there for the "pre-opening" and on the day that was there official grand opening. The lines were...long. When the line is as long as you can fit in the restaurant, snaking through to the bathroom, you know it's going to be a long wait. Either accept this, or come back when it's not busy. For a brand new place, with brand new staff, and an insane number of people showing up, occasional mix ups are going to happen. I was on the receiving end of one, but not a big deal. They fixed it ASAP. If you're a laid back and easy going person, brave the crowds. If you get upset easily by things occasionally not going perfect, wait until the crowds die down. If you're in a hurry, you probably should wait until things settle down. Frankly, I'm fine with being part of the learning curve for the staff, but not everyone is. I didn't observe a single person from the manager down to the person cutting the pizzas who wasn't working hard. If someone's working hard, makes a mistake, and then makes it right...well, they made it right, so now you can get on with your day and worry about other things. So let's talk pizza. It's tasty. Very tasty. Closest comparable is going to be Blaze, so I will make reference to there throughout. Crust is thinner than Blaze. A little bit crispier. Tomato sauce is a bit more spicy. I like it - in fact I get extra sauce. My son isn't big on spicy foods, so I get light sauce for him. Try it as they normally prep it, and then go up and down on sauce depending on taste. Cheese is good at both. Not a major difference - both are tasty. I usually have oregano thrown on mine. At Blaze, I believe they are mixed with sea salt. Here, you can get oregano and then after the pizza is baked, they do a really nice shake that puts just enough on the pizza. At the end of the day, I like the pizza more here than Blaze, even though Blaze makes good pizza too. Mod does seem more likely to have bubbles on the pizza, but it's not the end of the world. I really like their cinnamon strips as a dessert, especially with the cinnamon glaze to dip them in. Bottom line: really tasty pizza, cooked by hard working folks, and half of Oconomowoc waiting in line. The last bit may be a slight exaggeration. read more

Pizza was amazing but the place is brand new and slower than I thought possible. Waited in a line that actually wasn't that long but took over 35 minutes to get through it. They were making all the mobile or call in orders and making everyone else stand in line. Super frustrating being so close and watching them make more mobile orders than people standing in line. This review is a little late as I went for the soft opening. The lines were long but the staff handled everything great! Pizza was decent and reasonably priced. My only complaint is the minimal sauce and toppings. They had measuring cups for every ingredient. We had four people and we each ordered one of their specialty pizzas. All four of us had the same experience with the minimal sauce and ingredients. If they can adjust that i think they'll be good to go. On a side note, it appeared they were making orders first by people that were dining in. There were people in front of us that did carry out and we got ours quite a bit ahead of them.
