This place is like a much less crowded Pieology or Blaze Pizza - and that's not to say you sacrifice the quality. While people have said otherwise, I don't really see the difference between MOD Pizza, Pieology, and Blaze. They're all equally delicious but the other two have such LONG lines and here you don't have to worry about that! The staff is extremely friendly and all the food is very fresh (obviously) because it's cooked right there. I'm sooo glad MOD exists. I literally never order pizza anymore because this is so close to me, so quick, and it's easier to get a proportion just for one. The staff at this particular location is always so friendly, upbeat and happy, even under busy and stressful conditions. Working in the food industry myself, I understand how difficult that can be, but you never feel much stress coming off anyone here, and that's huge! The establishment itself is super roomy, always clean, modern (of course), and cozy. The pictures on the walls give such a happy, local touch that's very endearing. As for the food, compared to other byo pizza joints around now, I feel MOD has the most in terms of variety, freshness and taste of ingredients. I also love love love that they, as of recently, carry non dairy cheese and gf crusts! Now I never have to worry about eating a pizza and feeling sick (lactose intolerant) and bloated. Also, the fact that it's one set price per size pie and not based off each topping being an additional price, is amazing! The house made lemonades are also always delicious, and I always love their options of old school bottled cane sugar soda. Definitely pick this over other byo pizza places! Pros: Clean store and tidy topping counter, 80's music, decent amount of seating, nicely decorated, 4 or 5 types of non-soda drinks, 2 sizes of crust to choose from, milk shakes! Cons: Tasteless crust, one kind of red sauce, Asking for "extras" was sparse even tho I asked for "a lot"; all the initial servings were small. No grape tomatoes. No spicy sauce. One burnt pizza in our order. Personally I don't like having to "keep" asking for "more". I couldn't taste cheese or sauce. Not a deal breaker but it looked like there was no "uniform/dress code". I'm a fan of MOD Pizza and this location in general. It's located off Arlington and the 91 fwy. so if you're about to hit the road and need some fuel for your body or if you're coming back from a long day, then exit Arlington and stop in to MOD Pizza. They charge you for the size of the pizza not for the toppings. I ordered a mega sized Olivia which had no tomato sauce and was a bit on the sweet/tangy side. I added some bacon and Italian sausage and it was delicious. The mister refer's to these type of places as cracker pizza joints as the crust is thin and usually tastes like a saltine cracker. Although this is true, the amount of toppings on the pizza gives it a hearty taste and drowns out the saltine cracker flavor of the pizza. I'd definitely recommend this place to catch up with friends as it's small and intimate and not terribly packed with people and it's again, conveniently located off the 91 fwy. Also they have these awesome twists on lemonade and ice tea as well as the normal soda selection. The place is super clean, well organized and the staff were all helpful and very friendly. Three staff were doing various task right behind the counter; none of them acknowledged me. She final looked at me about 10 seconds later but didn't come over. After an awkward minute of me standing there, she addressed me with a "Hi, how are you? Have you been here before". I was not interested in disingenuous conversation by this point. I order plain breadsticks to go. Decent food, AC too high, staff rude and give off negative vibes. There are things that are always out of our control. It's how we respond in those situations that make us who we are as a person. Took the family to Mod Pozza for a quick lunch. We got stuck behind a few orders that didn't get processed in time due to a computer glitch. So we had to wait. It was frustrating but I was impressed on how aware Dennis was of our situation and how apologetic he was in the moment.
